Our first time here. Wow really nice restaurant and food and service were superb! Had the biscuit and gravy omelette and it was so yummy! Jessica was our waitress and she was en pointe! Food came out quickly! The wait time was 10-12 minutes but it was more like 3-5 minutes! That's always a plus! read more

Wow, what a pleasant surprise. We are not locals, but big fans. About a mile off I35 for a perfect breakfast. So clean and pretty. Coffee is amazing, house hot sauce needs to be bottled and sold. We would come for that alone. We had chicken fried streak and gravy, crepes, eggs, pancakes, bacon, hash browns, and biscuit. Service was even better than the quality food. Let me start by saying Ross is the most personable owner/operator of a restaurant I've ever come in contact with. I have been greeted and conversed with by him every time I've eaten here. Sometimes going to this restaurant is the highlight of my day. My family and I are regulars and have been treated no less than family ever since our first visit. Great food and great server. We had the southern traditional breakfast and the eggs over easy tasted great, sausage was good and standard on bacon. The Miga was flavorful, eggs were soft, moist and had had right mix of seasoning. It was not too salty. Coffee was ok. It was a pleasant meal and the atmosphere was good for a morning chat. They kept the area very clean by wiping tables down thoroughly, changing the creamer bowl and tidying up the table for next guests. read more

I had a horrendous experience at Egghouse in Denton. Please do not go to this establishment, anyone. They need to send their managers to leadership training before they handle anymore customers. Let me share my experience: I made an order at 8 am on Monday for 9:15 am pick up that same day. When I came to restaurant at 9:15 my order wasnt ready. I was asked to sit in the foyer and someone would bring my food out. I sat and waited. Some time passed, and I asked a server when my food would be ready - they said that the team was packing it up now. I sat and waited some more time. Multiple parties came and were seated but my food still wasn't brought to me. The manager came and asked if I was waiting for a to go order. I said yes. Some more time passed and people kept coming in to the restaurant. I finally got up again and I could see there was a brown bag sitting on the kitchen bar at the other end of the restaurant. So I flagged down the same server who asked me to sit and wait for my food. He took one look at me and then ran to the counter to pick up my bag. He tells me, sorry, someone should have brought this out to you - I don't know why they didn't. I ask him if this is all my stuff and I leave. I get home and I realize I have no orange juice. I ordered 2 things of orange juice. I call the restaurant and the manager says everyone is new and that he is sorry. He says he figured out early on that they never gave it to me because he saw it still in the fridge, and that I can come back and get my orange juice. I tell him I'm not coming back just refund me. He tells me that isn't possible. He offers to drop off the or ag juice himself, but I tell him I don't live in Denton, but in Irving and have returned home. He says he can't do be that far but can send me a gift card. I tell him I'm not driving all the way to Denton to spend more money at a place that messed up my order. He says I can come in before 2 when they close that day and he can refund me. I should interject at this point to say I had a to go order and was required to leave my phone number - so they have my phone number. I drive a the way back to Denton and the restaurant has closed early. No one called me to let me know - even though I was coming back. There was still someone inside so I left my phone number and my name. She promised the manager would call me tomorrow. No one called me the next day and no one answered my calls. I call again the day after and I leave another message with the same one who originally took it. Still no one calls me. I get a text from someone named Casey, who works for Egghouse accounting, who says, "I was asked to reach out to you to see how we can refund you the 2 orange juices that we owe you" she doesn't start off with an apology or an explanation for anything. She says they will leave my money in an envelope at the restaurant and I can come get it. I let her know it doesn't work for me. She tells me they will mail me a gift certificate for the exact amount of the 2 orange juices. I tel her that that would require me to come back to Denton, for a 3rd time to rectify their mistake so that I can spend the certificate. I reiterrate my terrible experience thus far and tell her that I'm insulted by the offer she says, "What mailing address do you want me to use?" If anything goes wrong, please know that the people in charge of this restaurant will make no attempt to right their wrong and honestly don't care about the customer experience. I would guess a generic brand without much taste. I don't expect fancy coffee drinks; for a black coffee at a breakfast place though, I at least want it to taste good. I think maybe the food will make up for it...I was wrong. I got the avocado Benedict. The hollandaise sauce and English muffin just tasted like it came straight from a jar and box; it didn't taste homemade. The highlight for me was the fruit I got with it was all sweet and juicy. This does not look like much driving by but the food and the atmosphere inside is beyond amazing. Had the biscuit and gravy omelette coffee and orange juice and the coffee is Italian and strongly robust. Anytime I walk through a door and Jonny cash is playing it's a good start. This place isn't good. It's great. Great music great atmosphere super staff. Food was awesome. I had Miya's which was as good as I have had anywhere. My 15 year old devoured his Midwest sampler without speaking which is a huge endorsement. My wife's 2x4 was excellent pancakes way above standard. I can hear from conversation around me that mainly locals are in here and they are all regulars. Fantastic job. Just located in a little strip center off university is perhaps the best little breakfast I've ever been to. It's provided me with a cute homey feeling. This is an okay place, if you are on this side of Denton and don't want to drive to the other side, where there are better breakfast places. The food was decent, but a little more expensive compared to other places nearby. Also just reading through the other reviews, the owner/manager seems to be really rude. I can't speak on this from experience, but based on some of his replies, I tend to believe it. I would come back here, if I was hungry and just didn't have the energy to drive to Old West, or Cartwright's, but if I did, I would bypass this place. read more
