Saturday brunch time was a little on the busy side but they gave us an estimate of 15 minutes and stuck to it. Really friendly staff! Everyone that walked pass my granddaughter said hi to her. Nice clean and friendly restaurant in. A great neighborhood so much to do before and after. Ample parking but also there is a 4 hour free parking only 4 minute walk away. We did a classic and traditional breakfast. My eggs were cooked incorrectly but I didn't mind because time from order to ready was fast and that's always a plus with a toddler! Parking was kind of tight as it appears multiple establishments use the same parking lot. Parking was a 3 hour limit. I was seated promptly and a server took my drink order pretty quick. Finalllllly found a breakfast place in the greater Chicago area (aside from Buttermilk which is so far) that aimed to please! I ordered takeout via an app and my order was ready right on time - to the minute. The front host was very polite and prompt. I ate in my car and everything was packaged so well, separately and easy to access. I ordered the chicken egg white omelette sub red peppers for mushrooms and goat cheese for mozzarella. Ok I LOVED that on the app you could choose "swap with..." I've never seen that before and it was so easy to get exactly what I wanted with no up charge! The omelette was great! I scarfed it down. Came with fruit and a whole wheat English muffin, all standard. I wasn't super impressed with the jam but that's no big deal. I also ordered the lemon poppy seed pancake on the side, which was very reasonably priced. I loved that you could choose to add one, two, or a stack. Great great ordering options!! Egg Harbor recently received a facelift, and I was excited to check it out. I have been craving French toast for ages, so I figured it was time to satisfy the craving. The new decor is cute, very on trend with other breakfast restaurants in the area. The server was nice, although the service was slow (not terrible for a busy Saturday, I guess). I ordered the classic French toast, a side of bacon, and a double espresso. When the espresso came out, I laughed because it was 2 single shots of espresso in two separate cups. It tasted good, however, and it wasn't bitter at all. The French toast was terrible. The egg wasn't absorbed by the bread at all, so what I got was sweet scrambled egg on top of brioche bread. I couldn't even eat one slice without giving up. The bacon was standard bacon, albeit underdone for my taste. If you want crispy bacon, you'll need to ask for it. Overall, with so many other breakfast options in Elmhurst, I will pass on Egg Harbor next time. read more

Coffee comes in a small pot and tasted great and you don't have to wave down staff for a refill. Homemade (they say) jam was very good. The down sides: I got a chorizo omelet the prior time. The chorizo was burnt black and any flavor that might have been there was gone. Potatoes cold. This last time, I thought another try, I stayed away from the omelet and got bacon and eggs. Today I and my wife had at Egg Harbor to celebrate to celebrate her work success. My wife had Avocado sandwich with tea, pancakes and she said it was very tasty! I got skillet with two additional ingredients, coffee, fruits and pancakes. All the flavors of the sausage, avocado, goat cheese, ham,m and warm chicken complemented each other nicely and was REALLY delicious!!! I'll definitely get that again! The service is great too! She put our check on the table and never asked if we needed anything else. Most if not all restaurants require their employees to wear their hair up for health reasons. THE EGGCEPTIONAL HARBOR MASTER This popular spot in downtown Elmhurst runs like a well-oiled breakfast machine. Good lord I haven't been to an Egg Harbor in forever. Maybe it's because I always thought of this down-to-earth restaurant as being more of a hangout for old ladies (i.e. my mom and my mom's mom), but EH wasn't on my radar for quite some time.....until my coworker had her baby shower here on 1/27/17. Seated at a twelve top, our server stayed on top of things the whole time but it never felt like she was buzzing in our ear. MAD PROPS to her for having a fantastic, upbeat attitude and being able to carry like 10 freaking plates at a time. Girl must lift or something. I was enamored with their winter mint mocha, essentially hot cocoa in a special Egg Harbor mug, which definitely makes the cold January days much more tolerable. Their selection of fresh squeezed juices and other seasonal drinks was impressive. The skillets came with ample amounts of morning potatoes and my choice of the 'San Antonio' included chorizo, pepper jack cheese, and onions ($11) with a perfectly buttered English muffin and homemade jam on the side. Everyone at our table loved what they ordered and the staff was able to accommodate our large party without issue. I couldn't help but notice that the servers here are finely tuned cogs in the brunch mechanism. Honestly every employee from the hostess to the kitchen was putting up their 'A-game' and it showed. The staff was great. The food was timely and so delicious. The menu was very diverse, as was the kids menu. There were a lot of non-pork options which was nice. I'm disappointed that the seasonal red velvet French toast, while delicious, I think was actually cake and not toast.. I got a skillet and my husband got the salmon Benedict. So this place just didn't reach my expectations. The locations all had great reviews, except for Oak Brook, so I had high expectations, but I was disappointed. The food was just missing that pizzazz that many of the brunch spots have. We thought the food looked sad. The server issue was real. Our server was replaced with Nicole. So things got lost a little and we had to ask for the same item a couple of times. The place is clean and everything, but they need to work on giving their food a little more spunk. I came here on a Sunday afternoon with my friend Tracy K. after an intense hot yoga session nearby. Parking was a bit tricky but after a few rounds around the block, we were able to find a spot.
