I'm happy to say that my husband and I are very satisfied with the work that was done to our property just recently! Back in April, we had contracted with Efficient Construction for one project. Then, after reading the reviews here, I was ready to cancel!  However, the sales reps came back (Ceaser and Sergio),  heard all of my concerns, reassure me that they were going to do a great job and removed all my risk with a $0 down and a 100% satisfaction guarantee or no payment clause. With that in mind and the cost being reasonable, we decided to give them a chance, and they sent their best teams to do the work. We contracted with them for 3 different jobs. The seismic retrofit + post and piers support was performed by their sister company Golden Retrofit. The texture and coating was performed by their in-house team; Juan, Aurelio, Rafael and Angel! They did an awesome job! The sales team had said that it will take 7 days to complete this job, but I quickly told them that I was not interested in a Mickey mouse job! I gave them permission to take as long as needed to do a great job. So it took them 22 days to complete what had been neglected by previous owners for the past 50+ years! We are super happy with the end result! Lastly, Sothy's window crew from SoCal Windows came and installed all of our Anlin windows! Now the outside of our house looks beautiful!  The whole process went smooth aside from a few concerns I had, which were addressed right away by their production crew; Jon Cerda and Jacob. If you do decide to give them a chance make sure you get all of your questions and concerns answered, confirm that everything you want is written down on paper,  confirm with each team that comes in your house that they are part of the in-house team and if they are not,  which is not uncommon, make sure that they either provide you with a Preliminary Notice from any other provider or that they write in their final closing form that xyz company got paid.  That is what we did, and they came through on everything that was agreed upon.  Thank you, Efficient Construction team and providers, for coming together to do an amazing job! Called them up to check out water leaking from my roof. Guy came the next day and gave me all the BS that he's been doing this for 30 years. He didn't even check the roof and quoted me 3 thousand for the repairs. All talk for this guy. I requested a quote for stucco work to be done at the base of my house. The representative began by a short introduction and while the conversation started out to be informative it quickly turned into what was to be the most expensive cost and geared towards a "forever" home. This is not what I requested but only how to extend the missing stucco at the base of existing wall. The representative then tried to sell me on a total stucco replacement for the entire dwelling for $18,000 and then said that their company did not do the job I was requesting because it was not cost effective. I was spoken to as an ignorant homeowner (never mind as a woman and my age of over 65 was called into question) and unable to make any logical decision. Not only was I very disgusted at the demeanor of the representative but his attitude that I knew nothing about construction and other building experience was uninformed and not inquired about. Efficient Construction did the paint on my house, I'm very happy with it and the neighborhood likes it. The patio they installed matches perfectly with the house. The electrical panel on my home was also upgraded and all the holes were patched, very happy with that. They also installed a new HVAC system in my home and it's a nice touch to be able to be comfortable in the heat. Overall I give Efficient Construction 5 stars, continuing to get more work done as well. read more

Take heed to the reviews listed. I feel this company tried to take advantage of my mother who is a senior. Always be leery of a company that writes an estimate on the spot, especially when the estimates starts at $50+K and ends up at $29K. I was meeting someone at my mom's home and they called to advise me two men were pressuring my mother to sign documents, yet they advised my mother is was just their proof to the company they went to the property. After reviewing the paperwork, it was indeed something acknowledging they would be doing work and documentation notifying her she had a right to cancel within 3 days. I advised my mother to call. She also informed them they left their jacket. They came back to the home, according to my mother unannounced, and was asked to sign some documents to cancel. My mother called me frantically advising me they returned and wanted her to sign some more documents. I advised them over the phone to remove themselves from the home and not to return. They stated she needed to sign forms to cancel and I advised them if they claimed to her the signature was only their proof to the company they were at the property, why wouldn't need a signature on a cancellation form. I told them to leave and I would reach out to the company for whatever documents needed to be signed and I highly suggested they leave because my brother was on his way to the house. I don't anticipate this company being in business much longer based on their reviews and from what my mother's experience being similar to other reviews. i called the company for an e-mail address and was initially provided the wrong information. Once provided the corrected e-mail address, I sent an email to cancel and to explain what occurred. Any legit business would've been concerned about the accusations regarding their employees using pressure tactics when dealing with a senior and would've returned the call to get the details to prevent future occurrences by their staff. Well, I received an e-mail apologizing how my mother felt and acknowledging the job was cancelled. The response just reinforced my belief of the company being unethical. The prices kept dropping and their pressure on me to sign was high pressure. I said this was my first bid for the painting job and wouldn't sign, but they kept on with the pressure and offers. Finally being alone I said Im getting some water, came back and said I'm sticking with my policy of not signing with first bid,still a hogh bid I thought. I worked for this company 2 years ago, it's such a shame that really hard working and friendly people have to have a shitty boss such as Thomas Reilly, this guy not only doesn't care for anyone, workers or buyers, but has the audacity of always making everything that goes wrong your problem, not him the boss, you the worker or homeowner, in his eyes you are the one at fault, in addition to this, his humanity gets reduced to treating you as just a number, he treats you accordingly of how many "sales" you get and I write "sales" because is a plain and simple SCAM. Beware of this Company! They have sales people (Eddie Lucero} that lie and promise things that they do not honor ;i.e., being on time, communication, cleanliness and products. They damaged my home, A/C unit and did a horrible job repairing my roof. They left trash in my driveway for two weeks until I threatened to charge them. When they demolished my old roof, it rained that night and ruined my ceiling inside my house, covered my A/C-Heating unit and I had to have a Tech come out ;it was because they covered the entire unit. They took a month to complete my roof and it looks horrible. I submitted my complaint to the CSLB but they were no help at all. I honestly don't know what the CSLB is there for, it seems like they protect the Contractor 's and not the consumer. Now Yelp won't let me upload the damaged pics smh!! read more

They came to our door and told us about their business. We needed a new roof. It has been 30 years since we had one put on and was looking for someone to do the job. They told us it would take 3 days. We are now on our 5th day and it's still not finished. We told them we have an open beam ceiling in our master bedroom. They never told the workers and they split one of the beams all the way across the room. Could see daylight all the way across. I had to call the manager Arman to let him know. It took three days before they closed the cracked beam. We have an in closed patio attached to the house and told them they could not stand on the roof. I have had to tell them everyday because the crew is never the same. This is the fifth day and we are still telling them not to stand on the patio roof. They threw the bundles of shingles on our roof instead of putting them down. Shook the whole house. All I have heard is constant pounding and sounds like people falling on top of my house. Some of my trim the paint is either broken off or bubbled and was not like that at the start of the job. I am in fear of the roof leaking because rain is due in two days. This has been a nightmare. I have either talked to the managers everyday or have had them come to the house. The nightmare still continues. The inspector that came really has done nothing but tape a paper to my front side of the house. Does anyone do their jobs anymore? This is the first time I have ever had trouble with a contractor. All of the jobs we have had done have been done properly. This is the 3rd roof we have had put on the house and the only time we have had problems. I wish I would have read the reviews before I made the choice. My rating is 0. Managers are nice but no help. We are paying $24,000 for the roof. Not worth the pain we have had to endure. Avoid this company at all costs. As other have stated, they'll come give you an estimate and a few weeks after signing the papers they'll tell you that they'll need more money to complete the job. I was quoted 2-3 weeks to complete the project and it took well over 4 months. The communication with this place is horrid. I'll call several time before I can even get a call back if i even get one. I'm constantly chasing someone down just to see when someone is going to show up next to work on my house. I'll be contacting the Better business bureau because everyone at this company is just completely unprofessional. I cannot stress more, do not hire this company. They left trash and nails all around they house and no one has come to clean it up so I did it myself. He then proceeded to try to sell me a new roof, but did promise to send a crew to do all the touch ups on the house that were not done correctly to begin with. My GF and I wanted to update our outdated windows and from the moment I contacted them to the completion of the project, they provided amazing customer service and top notch workmanship. What impresses me the most about the team at Efficient Construction was their attention to detail. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! I don't usually write yelp reviews but the fact that this company was so slimy I felt the need to tell of our experience. One of their workers came to our door and said he noticed the stucco on our house was cracking and if we would like someone to come out and take look to give us an estimate. My wife and I have talked about fixing the stucco before so said sure why not, the worker seemed like a nice guy. After going online and seeing reviews about the company we decided to cancel the appointment, which was easy enough, until they decided to show up anyway. The guy insisted that since he was here might as well take a look around and that it would only take five minutes. Ok what harm could that do? It'll be quick right? He took a quick look around at the stucco of our house and told my wife that he should check underneath our house because there may may be water damage. When he emerged he told us he had taken some photos and asked if we wouldn't mind waiting for his coworker to come by so they could chat with us about his findings, and that it would only take a few minutes. What followed was a three hour presentation of how our house was basically on the verge of falling down and that they needed to fix these problems ASAP, and that the cost would be $30,000. They did everything they could to try and get us to sign a contract with them on the spot, talked about knocking some money off, how we could do this special financing deal "today only!", and they even tried to throw in fixing our fence? (We'd pay for labor but they had an extra fence from another job or some nonsense) Both of these used car salesman type dudes were visibly upset/disappointed when we kept telling them sorry and that we just do not have 30k to drop all of a sudden. The comical part of this whole situation is that I had mentioned multiple times to tweedle dee and tweedle dum that I am in real estate and that foundation issues are something that come up often during inspections. What I did not tell them is that quotes from reputable foundation companies that I see for this type of work are usually in the ballpark of $5,000-$10,000 not this ludicrous amount they were saying. This is not how an honest company does business. TLDR; Showed up even after cancelling appointment saying they would only be there for a few minutes and proceeded to go into a three hour scare tactics style presentation in the hopes we would sign a contract with them on the spot to do work on our house that we do not need for an exorbitant amount of money. Do not use this company if you are doing a small project. I contracted with them in mid-February to refurbish the wood siding on my house. I wanted to replace the wood, but the sales team of Keane French and Carlos Cuervo assured me that refurbishing the wood would be faster and look as good as new/just like new. The quoted me $5,000 and a 4-5 day work schedule. It's now July 14th, and the work is still not completed. The work they did do, they subcontracted out & didn't explain the end goal, leading to unsatisfactory look one the coating was up; not even close to like new/good as new. It's not even consistent. They do not return phone calls unless you threaten legal action, and even then it's like pulling teeth to get them on the phone or out to your house. Avoid them at all costs. Someone came to my door and decided to ring my doorbell twice anyways. When I finally answered on the ring, this guy informed me that he had indeed read my signs but still decided he wanted to pitch me on a new roof. I told him I was not interested and he STILL persisted to then give me the "in my expert opinion". Poor poor sales. You have showed me that you have no respect for me multiple times with actions and words. We signed our contract with Efficient Construction on 12/17/22 to rebuild our gate. We paid our deposit at this time for Efficient Construction to come out and do the work ASAP. Fast forward - we are now midway through February. We texted and called Efficient Construction repeatedly to see when they would be coming out to do the work. On 02/14/23, almost 2 months later, Efficient Construction finally deigned to communicate with us that they were not, in fact, going to be doing any work. Our $5000 gate re-build was too low value and not worth it to them. 2 months after they signed a contract with us. 2 months after they took our money. Initially, they had indicated that they would compensate us for the delay. They subsequently notified us that, since they have not cashed our check yet (something we do not have any control over on our end), they were not going to help us out at all. If our home project was not worth it to them, the least they could have done is promptly inform us so that we can go out and look for another contractor to do the work. They never bothered to reach out to let us know and we were subsequently delayed by 2 months because we put our trust in Efficient Construction. We thought signing a contract and paying them would result in services being rendered, but evidently not. The lack of professionalism here has been disappointing, to say the least. read more

On April 2, 2024 I wrote ... Wow, I cant believe these guys came by our house AGAIN today! OK, back in year 2022, Efficent Construction (EC) came by and pitched my mom. #1. AFTER A 3 HOUR SALES PITCH I let my mom sign the documents just to get EC out of the house, knowing I would advise her to cancel within 5 days! #2. EC gave my mom a 3 day to cancel form, but the law provides for 5 days for seniors. (See California Civil Code § 1689.20 (2021)). I then went to check out the EC website and noted they didn't have one. #3. So, I called up to ask why no website? Their "IT department" told me they needed a "BUY"? a new server?! Well, I've been a software engineer since year 1990, and in two of my last three companies I programmed internet transaction software. And yes, in one of those companies, they had a room full of servers running at 50 degrees in temperture, but those servers were doing thousands of transactions per second and needed to stay cool. Um, I'm sorry but you can buy a POS $500 laptop to serve as a server if all its going to do as spit out an html page once an minute or so, which is what any EC website is going to do. And if you don't want to do that, just sign up with GoDaddy.com and pay them $20 a month. So, either they didn't want to spend $20 a month, or didn't know they could do that. #4. The finance papers they presented, well, lets be nice and say they "misheard" my moms income, that's must be why the EC rep typed in a higher amount than what I heard my mom tell him. #5. Then I found out, from the cslb website, that the State Attorney General was moving against them! (See results later.) #6. Fast forward to year 2023, somebody had the nerve to leave a EC flyer on our porch again! #7. Today, I was informed by my mom that she was going to have a company come over tomorrow and look at some stuff, she showed my the flyer, to my horror, it was EC! STOP trying to shave 2 days off seniors 5 day right to cancel. 2. STOP making "mistakes" presenting the finace forms for people to sign, especially seniors.. 3. STOP with the whole, "let me call my boss and see if he can put you on our 'surplus commercial order'" routine. All you door to door companies use that same line. 4. STOP posting fake reviews. Although you are posting less fake reviews than you used to, at least you got smarter and spaced them out a little bit to avoid the Yelp algorithmn. EC you guys used to have 5 reviews of 5 stars posted on the same day, by users who had no other reviews of anything on Yelp at all. Easy to spot those fakes! 5. STOP knocking on our door! Don't call us, we'll call you. On May 8, 2024, EC showed up once again! To his credit, the EC rep didn't knock on the door this time, he solicited from the sidewalk. I'm going to have to find a way to keep my mom in the house, or at least in the back yard. I checked the cslb website, EC is still under UNDER DISCIPLINARY ORDER 3. I assume the reason they don't list their website here on Yelp or their business cards is because the website does not show their license number. I assume that as long as they don't show the website on any documents they give to the public, they can claim the website is still "internal" or "not finished" and not being used for advertising. At this point, if you read this review on Yelp and you do business with this company, all I can say is "you were warned". read more

Honestly they did not do any work on my home. This review is based solely on their high pressure sales tactics. My mother and I live together and I work from the home. She is elderly and there was a knock at the door and we had a man stating his company "is doing roofing work in the neighborhood so my boss has me reaching out to the neighbors" as an initial sales pitch. I step in, but at this point my mom is already confirming that they can come out for an estimate. I do inform him a have a friend in the roofing business and we would go with him if anybody. I concede this guy is just doing his job whatever they can come. The next day we have a team of 3 men show up at the house to inspect and give us a pitch. I sat down with them and listened and asked questions. They used terms like this is an emergency roofing situation and we were given a ridiculous price. However, if we sign up right now they would give us a discount, but if they leave the number is off the table. These people even made fake phone calls to their boss to get us additional "discounts". After all thier discounts they were going to charge us 30K for 28 squares. Several years ago I worked for a roofing contractor and have a good friend that owns a roofing company so I have a few resources and a bit of knowledge . I called Joe told him the price quoted and the number of squares. He google earthed my home and came back at 17K. This was a straight price and not a friend discount. This company is not trust worthy and I think they prey on the elderly, They seemed to be throwing terms around that make no real business sense, but sound professional and plausible. Last month Mike Kim came out to talk to my 84 year old grandmother about replacing her roof. After assessing the damage, Mike did a full presentation about what the roof repair would entail including showing samples of the materials used and showing videos of past jobs to walk through each part of the process. After interviewing several other roofers we decided to go with Efficient and I'm glad we did! The work was completed quickly and there was plenty of communication between us and Mike, Aaron, and George. We felt like we were in good hands. Our new roof is beautiful and our new gutters look amazing (all the neighbors were asking questions about it afterward!).
