This was a pretty extensive project that included removing the old showers, waterproofing, new shower floors and wall tile, plumbing and drain work, and new frameless glass shower doors. They also repaired some water-damaged drywall and took care of other repairs that came up during the project. Eric and his team did a great job, and we're very satisfied with the quality of the work and the finished result. The quality of the craftsmanship was outstanding, but equally impressive was the team's communication and guidance. Throughout the entire process, Mike was very professional and the level of expertise he exhibited was obvious. Before Mike, I had met with 3 other contractors to compare services and quotes but what sealed the deal for me was the 3D render service Mike offered. It was affordable and it would be free if you end up going with MDM for your remodel. Mike was able to get the renderings to me very quickly and made adjustments whenever we wanted to change something. Seeing the details of the renderings really brought what we were envisioning to life and helped with the design process. Fast forward to beginning of demo/construction, Mike's employees were impressively fast and efficient at their jobs, but what really impressed me was how clean they kept our property after each day of work. And that stated true throughout the entire process of our 7 month renovation. During construction, if there were any last minute changes, Mike would always try to cater to our needs whenever possible. Even if subcontractors made mistakes with anything, Mike would make sure it is fixed and perfect right away. Keep in mind, you can't rely on Mike for everything (as much as you might want to). You really do have to do your research (in terms of design, finishing materials, sourcing those materials, and getting them delivered on time) and know exactly what you want and how you want it, that way, Mike can plan and put into action what needs to be done. After this entire process, we are extremely happy we got this project completed with MDM. What really sets them apart is the quality of work, dependability, and the great people that work for MDM. Shoutout to Mario! They really respected our home and were very considerate of us during construction. Shawn was easy to reach, responsive, and great to work with throughout the project. The crew showed up on time, kept things clean, and finished everything in under 5 weeks. We did new tile, vanity, lighting, and a walk-in shower, and the quality really shows. Hard to find a contractor this consistent and reliable. Pricing felt fair too, especially for the level of work. The biggest reason I chose Sunshine Builders was the quality of Jon's inspection. He was the only contractor who identified sagging floor joists in my living room, which likely explained the squeaking floors I had been hearing. He documented the issue with photos and recommended the appropriate repairs, giving me confidence that he was looking out for the long-term integrity of my home--not just trying to sell a standard retrofit. Throughout the entire process, Jon kept me informed every step of the way, from permitting and plan check to scheduling the installation. I say "with" because they both were absolutely with us every step of the way. The schedule and commitment they made with us was as equally important to them as it was to us. We had some hiccups. No project that I've ever been involved with goes without a hitch. And our house was built in 1963, and the kitchen was last updated in 1992. So there were a lot of challenges to be met and issues to be dealt with as the kitchen went down to the studs. But Elena is a master project and business manager. And Dmitry is actual an artisan, with a team of very skilled people at the ready to do the work and handle the problems. Even when we had issues with the vendors for the appliances, Elena stepped in and worked the white spaces, smoothing over the issues and getting everyone back on track. Dmity himself literally built custom solutions real time at the work site. We had several challenges because of the way the house was initially built, and he overcame them one by one with creative solutions that were not simply kluges but are now permanent fixes that passed ALL Final Inspections. Which brings me to another point: Dmitry did all the plans for submittal to the city, and Elena submitted all the plans and permit requests, interfaced with the city for all inspections, and gave us copies of all the final inspections and permit information for our files. We paid for those services, and I will tell you it was well worth it. It bears noting that we lived in the house the entire time the work was being done, except for the 12 days when we were on vacation out of the country. Pulsar kept working the whole time we were gone, safeguarding our home, and keeping us in the loop even though we were eight hours ahead. Pulsar was not our least expensive bid. But we made the decision early on that we would not cut corners on this job. We are very grateful to have found Dmity and Elena. They were easy to work with, had respect for our property and our schedule and our budget as much as possible, and never made us feel sorry about choosing to with them. "Buyer beware before you consider Pulsar Construction in Torrance, CA"!…read more On July 15th, 2025, I submitted a request for kitchen/bathrooms renovation on Pulsar's website (including my zip code - see attached photo) on my Fusion at Southbay home. The same same day, received a response from Elena (office manager) stating "we are booked until September 21st and not accepting new project but we will put you on our waiting list". "Our team will contact you in case of any cancellations". After patiently waiting, 2-1/2 months, on September 29th, I received an update from Elena stating "Good morning Jeff!!! We are looking for a new project starting in November. Please leave us a note with the property address and your email. We will reach out to you after 10/10". So I did just that only to receive an immediate reply "Unfortunately, we are unable to help you because your zip code 90250 is outside our service area". This was very disturbing as we've been waiting 2-1/2 months and if this was known, we would have contacted another construction company. I responded to Elena "that is interesting, my home is 6.5 miles from Pulsar and clearly within your service area, per your website map". Elena replied "we can't consider your project since it is territorially located in Los Angeles". I explained to Elena, this is absolutely false as my Fusion at Southbay home with Hawthorne zip code 90250 is an "incorporated" city in LA county, the same as Manhattan, Redondo and Hermosa - in which my home literally borders MB/RB directly across Aviation Blvd. I then texted her all of the supporting screen shots (including map area of my home to Pulsar), Pulsar's website stating "We specialize in serving the SOUTH BAY of Los Angeles for 9 years". Elena, my home is in the "South Bay of Los Angeles. I requested to speak with the Owner only to be completely ignored by her going forward. In summary, my renovations would have been completed by now. I lost 3 months and have to start the entire process over again looking for another construction company. Again, potential customers - Beware of their misrepresentation and tactics!

They also helped uninstall the piping from our garage that we needed to reuse for another project, picked up an extra valve replacement behind the house, and assisted with locating a wonderful trash hauler. We highly recommend Pro Handyman Service!…read more I wanted to write this review because we had a request that, while not unique, wasn't that easily categorized under a common household repair category, so we decided we would look for a general handyman that would be able to do it all. We have a sliding barn door for a guest bathroom, and because there was a bit of a gap from the wall to the door, it wasn't very private for our guests, and there was also no latch on the barn door. It's a strange choice for a bathroom, but we also didn't have the budget to change the entire door. I reached out to a few pros to get their assessments, and Pro Handyman Service was not the cheapest option for this job, but they had great reviews and I appreciated that they gave me an upfront quote. The quote actually helped me to budget accordingly, and I didn't feel like there were going to be a bunch of hidden charges that I wouldn't be able to plan for. I also felt that Pro Handyman Service was easy to communicate with and they responded to my questions very quickly over Yelp messages. They are busy, by the way, so try to schedule early so you can get a time slot. Denis arrived at our home promptly and on time, and was very careful to keep the home clean by wearing booties to cover his shoes. He listened and reviewed the situation, then gave us several options based on his opinions and experience. For example, he said he could use either wood or plastic paneling to add a "privacy edge" to the sliding door, and we ultimately settled on wood for the sides and plastic for the top of the door. He had everything needed for the job and just needed to leave to purchase the wood paneling and returned promptly to do the install. He also painted and caulked the new wooden privacy edge on each side of the door. We had already purchased a latch, which he also installed while accommodating the added privacy edge to the door. Denis worked very quickly and efficiently, leaving no mess behind. As you can see from the photos, the installation looks quite neat and clean, and almost looks as if the door came that way. It was nice that he was able to cut the privacy edge to accommodate the baseboard, too. Overall, this was a very positive experience with Pro Handyman Service and we think you'll be pleased with them as well! Hopefully this review will be helpful to anyone else who is looking for someone who needs a handyman (and especially if they have a specific request that might be similar to ours)!

I had a very odd issue of an extremely shakey washing machine, which after several repair attempts led me to inspect the floor. Denis his colleague showed up to move the washer/dryer and inspect the floor, and determined it was not level (it was VERY uneven). Denis gave me several options for how to proceed. They took the time to show me the support frame under the floor and explain why it wasn't level, and what they could do to level it as much as possible. I had hired Pro Handyman Service to address the floor only, but after they were finished and placed everything back the way it was, Denis asked to see a wash cycle on the washing machine to see if the floor fixed the machine as well - it worked great, no more intense shaking! Highly recommend, and will definitely be using their services again in the future.

He gave me a quote and a start date for the repair, which were both generous in amount of time and price. One day after his team came to make the repair rapidly. Not cutting corners or half-work but professionally completed. A plus is that they left a very clean post work area. My service requested was more than I expected and I would definitely recommend their services to anyone looking for great quality work.

Efficient Construction recently completed my roof replacement, electrical panel upgrade, and full home rewiring, and the entire experience was exceptional from beginning to end. What stood out the most throughout the project was their professionalism, organization, and consistent communication. Alvin, the sales representative, was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure we felt comfortable and informed every step of the way. He made the process easy to understand and helped ensure everything moved forward smoothly and stress-free. Luis, the production manager, also did an outstanding job coordinating the project. He consistently kept us updated on scheduling, crew arrival times, and project progress, which gave us a lot of confidence and peace of mind throughout the entire job. There was always clear communication, and we never felt left in the dark. The crew was professional, respectful of our home, and worked efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship. It's not always easy to find a company that delivers both excellent customer service and quality work, but Efficient Construction absolutely did both. This is the worst type of company to ever exist they come out and knock on your door without mask's on and jeopardize the health of your children and high risk family members and this is just the beginning. Then they send some guy on drugs named Ben or whatever he calls himself because he is not listed on the CSLB website or the better business bureau as he stated he was. After the first initial roof project it went very smoothly although ben would not return our calls and there was a lot of wood that was supposed to be replaced and wasn't. This was our 2nd major RED flag!! They would only replace 100 feet of wood because that is what he put on the contract!! They would not recognize any verbal agreements promised by Ben! Not to mention my 2nd project which was a paint product which is already peeling and bubbling after 2 months. Cesar said we will get around to it when we can we all have COVID-19 right now so we have to put off all service complaints for the time being. I was them transferred to some guy named Pablo the manager who said don't worry will take care of it, but its too late now. I will have to file a complaint with the BBB and CSLB and maybe they will fix This home depot work! If they resolve the issues I will update the review but for now buyer beware!!! read more

Be aware. Possible predatory behavior. The pitch is that they have canvassed the neighborhood for homes that need repair. The sales representative said his name was Roberto Guzman. He claimed he was the co-owner of the company (He is not listed as the owner or on the salesperson list under the contractor's license). He was pushy and continued to try to schedule an inspection to provide an estimate. He made a call to get credit for the sales contact and then started asking questions that were irrelevant to his sales pitch. I interjected and assertively told him we were not interested. He persisted and continued to try and schedule an appointment. I told him not to show up again and I would call if we were interested in their business. I told him I would first check their website, check their license and read online reviews. I found two website links and neither were active. I checked the status of their business license in the city of Gardena, it expired on 12/21. (The City of Gardena website indicates it updates information on a weekly basis.) The Better Business Bureau website only indicated their profile was being updated. From reading other reviews, I'm concerned this company may be taking advantage of homeowners and possibly targeting senior citizens. read more

I want to begin by saying a big, thank you, to the Effcient Construction Team! For the time in a long time, a solid effort was made to help make my parents feel comfortable getting work done to their house. About ten years ago, they were basically robbed by a contractor so up until Efficient Construction came knocking on their door they were flat out not interested. Efficient really went the extra mile to prove to my parents that safety, value, and commitment to impeccable work was of their greatest importance. They went above and beyond in every way and I couldn't imagine having the roof done by any one else. Whenever we had a question they had an answer. Although the team worked great from beginning to end, I must say that Evin really played a major part in getting answers to all our questions. Even in times when he did not have the exact answer, he reassured us he would get it immediately, and never failed once. In conclusion, if you have ever been for lack of better terms, played, misled or lied to, rest assured Efficient Construction is the company that will have you feeling as though you made a great choice. Efficient Construction is amazing! The Mike is friendly, prompt, reliable and only does high quality work he can stand behind. His team was courteous, clean, respectful and hardworking. The scope of my job was large and some other reputable roofers were unable to even provide estimates, primarily because the oversize skylight (60 sq feet +) required special construction to be adequately supported. Mike didn't bat an eyelash at the size and got me a quote within minutes. I knew right then that he was the right guy for the job. Not the cheapest quote of them all but the quality of the work is far superior and the pleasantness of the experience was well worth the cost. Plus he stands behind his work with a guarantee that far surpasses what other people offered, and was even willing to put in a clause saying that the guarantee remains in effect if ownership changes. His team was so great I wished they could do ALL the work that my building needs! But they specialize for a reason, and it shows. Efficient Construction is the best, hands down. read more

I had my roof done, and they did such an amazing job. I had a very good experience working with them. Mike was the person that oversaw the project and crew, and I can't thank him enough for the great communication and status updates leading to the week of the project. I don't think I ever had to follow up with him. Even during the week of the project, and afterwards, he would tell me when the inspector would come by or what I can expect that day. I notified my neighbors prior to the start of the project, to give them a courtesy notice and not once did they ever comment on the crew working. They cleaned up all the debris at the end of the day, everyday, and picked up all the nails on the ground. Last thing I want is to pop my new neighbor's tires . They finished the project in about three or four days. From them handling the permits, paperwork, communication with the city, it was just added to the good experience. Our home needed paint and replacement of some rotten wood, so we got an estimate from Efficient. To their credit, they told me I should have a few problems with the roof fixed before painting, which we did. They offer the Cool Life product, which has a 50 year warranty, and we went with that. There are lots of painters out there, but what impressed me was the attention to detail shown by all the workmen and staff I worked with. They worked with my schedule so I was able to observe their work, and you can tell when a man has pride in his work as opposed to just getting the job done as quick as possible. Their guys did a better job than I have the patience to do. They have a "no cost increase" policy, which was great for us because we had a lot more rotten wood than was anticipated and this was either replaced or changed to stucco at no extra cost. I normally don't post reviews, but I thought it would be helpful to share my experience and thoughts about this company with a few people, because the contracting industry is known for scammers. However, this company seems to have a different approach. Although, they are not the cheapest, I really felt comfortable with my decision once I met Kevin. He said he was a manager or the owner, but he seems to really know his stuff. I have been in this house for almost 15 years and I didn't realize how badly my outside walls needed fixing. I thought about it for a few days and had a few other estimates and most were cheaper, one was half the price, but I didn't feel the confidence that they knew their trade as well as Kevin did, which led me to hiring them and I am grateful I did, because wow, they took a day longer than promised, but the walls look so much better. I recently hired EF to replace my roof and am very content with the experience and final results. Compliments from my neighbors can also testify that the roof looks great. The job was finished quickly, in about a week, with no complications other than an electrical issue that they were quick to respond to and resolve, even after I'd already approved payment. I tried to stay home and watch the process as much as I could and was impressed by their professionalism, as well as the Owens Corning method they incorporate to ensure I have a solid roof that protects my home for years to come, and the lifetime warranty built more confidence. We had major roof issues and had put off getting a new roof for years. Luckily we were met with a canvasser from Efficient who set us up with an appointment for a free estimate good for a year. Eddie and Jared came out and did a fantastic job of explaining the scope of work and our options. Having been burned with dead beat contractors in the past, we were initially reluctant but ultimately were very happy with our decision to go with Efficient Construction. Eddie and Jared showed up day 1 as promised and continued checking in until the completion of the job. Now there were a couple of minor issues: some paint and stucco chipping after the roof tear off and some loose debris left on our water heater, However upon bringing this to their attention , they resolved the issues. I've had other companies come out before and I've had terrible experiences with them. At first I was a bit sketchy due to other construction companies in the past, but this is by far the best service I've ever had getting work done on my home. My roof is absolutely perfect, and I have no more leaks. They were definitely reasonable in price and were helpful answering all my questions whether it be with finance or even just doing the job. I knew I could trust them as far as references because they did a job for my neighbor down the street and I was impressed. Thank you Thomas for being so nice and such a big help. I found this company through a neighbor of mine. I set an appointment & Dalton came by to access what would be needed to replace our windows with something up to date. It's my grandmothers home & she still had her original wood windows. Most have been broken since I was a kid & the ones that were somehow still in tact were stuck shut. Dalton & his team were great in guiding us through our options & stayed in communication every step of the way. The process took only ONE DAY to replace all 19 of our windows! Alvin and Rome from Efficient Construction recently remodeled the bathroom for us. My 2 daughters needed a space more open and functional. Alvin listened to our ideas and the vision we had for the space and was able to offer suggestions to make the space even more functional and beautiful. He was always great to have around and his work is impeccable. These past rain storms brought a leak to our house. I found it unbelievable because the next day a polite knock on my door asked if we were taking quotes for our roof. It was strange at first but he provided his licensed business card and told me of county approved programs for these projects. My wife and I decided to accept a consultation and we couldn't be happier for everything. 2 weeks later my roof is complete as expected and my house feels really secure. Sales representative Vincent was AWESOME. He went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with every project. He called abd stopped by multiple times during and after each project. Jacob was great with correcting any design concerns and made sure the great workers were all on the same page with me. I referred my mother, neighbors who asked and my mail lady. So far my mom reached out and is having work done and she's satisfied. We had stucco, pavers, windows and insulation done on our house. The crews on the various projects were great and meticulous. We were very satisfied with their work. The windows and insulation made the most difference in keeping our home warm with the cold weather and cool when the temperature rose to the mid to high 80's. The quality of all the work done was excellent and we feel the value is more than worth it. Justin Cuen, Matthew Hunt and Ryan Vasquez were our contacts and they were great! Just moved into our fixer upper and got an estimate from efficient for 18 thousand to replace our 40 year old roof, UNFORTUNATELY we chose another roofer (Juarez roofers) that quoted us 10 thousand, then less than half way asked for another 4 thousand for "unexpected damage" but couldn't tell us what it was, then found out their license was not valid! so we called back Thomas from Efficient he was very clear and detailed and they only asked for a small deposit of one thousand and did a PERFECT JOB and we didn't pay until they were done! now we are trying to get our money back from juarez roofers I think they are from whittier (thats what they said any way) read more

Although I didn't conduct business with this company I would like to take a moment to appreciate the work of a young man knocking in my neighborhood. I noticed on my cameras that a guy in a yellow vest was knocking on doors. I found it odd that he skipped mine. I wanted to know what matter he had in the community so I went outside and approached him. I asked him why he skipped my house and in response, he said he noticed my no soliciting sign I had forgotten about when I bought my house. Called efficient Construction at their Cerritos office to have some work done on my house. The work I needed done was significant including new window throughout the house. Throughout the entire process someone was always on site to make sure the work was done properly and on time. They did a fantastic job and at a reasonable price. After comparing, and evaluating two other estimates, we decided that Revive Exteriors would be the best company for our needs. Another meeting with Evan explained in detail how each step would be accomplished and the length of time needed for each step. The workers arrived at the appointed time and cleaned up each day afterwards. The only suggestion that could be offered is that in the future the customer be forewarned to remove items from the attic if possible and clean up the area day by day. The removal left debris of the old shingles' aggregate and wood splinters and chunks where any wood had to be replaced. Also, some nails fell into the attic. Since we were trying to be as energy efficient as possible we requested an estimate for placing more insulation in the attic. This was a reasonable estimate and we decided to go ahead with the job. It was scheduled immediately and the work done by Beto Flores and his son was excellent. The came early in the morning and completed the job and cleanup before eleven o'clock that morning. We are looking forward to the next project Revive will be doing to the exterior of the house.

On Tuesday, I received a visit from Martin De La Torre offering a free estimate for whatever is…read moreneeded to be done to the exterior of my home since they're in the area working on a roof nearby. Ok. I show him an area of stucco underneath the front window overlooking my porch that has been damaged. I make an appointment for Wednesday at 2pm for an estimate. Wednesday at 1:35pm (25 minutes early), I get a visit from Eli Jacobs and Myles McKee-Osibodu regarding the estimate and I inform them I'm only interested in the area where the stucco is damaged. I tell Eli that the only reason I'm entertaining this estimate is because my regular general contractor is building a new bathroom for another client. If he was available, we wouldn't be having this conversation. Eli was not paying attention to me and began looking around the side of my home and noticed another area where the paint was fading and asked if I knew there were paint chipping off and pointed to the area. (WTF? You don't think I notice my own home?) Eli took his iPad and moved towards the opening under the house and TOLD me he would take pictures under the house. He NEVER asked permission! Eli begun to ask more and more questions about this and that regarding the house, the paint job, etc. whilst I kept reminding him I just wanted the stucco repaired. Myles just smiled and wrote notes on a notepad. I told them I wanted a written estimate on paper and not an iPad for the repair. Eli then showed me the pictures he took of the area underneath my home. I rang the doorbell to notify my mother, the homeowner, so she could see the pictures. My mother proceeded to chastise Eli for taking pictures WITHOUT permission. However, Eli chose to make a sales pitch for a bigger construction job for foundation work and a complete paint job for the entire house! Unreal. My mother was not impressed. I kept telling Eli that we did not have the budget for a foundation work or anything else than the damaged stucco on the front of the house above the porch. Eli then informed me how his company worked with the city regarding discounts for homes of the age of my house "for free" but then told me the finance could work out to "about $200 a month" and would cost about $20,000. I told him that was an oxymoron and nothing is for free. My mother was disgusted at the sales pitch and walked away. I had chores to finish and closed the front door. Eli yelled at me to come back to the door. I told him I'm not going to pay for anything but the damaged stucco above the porch. Enough already. Eli threw a look of disgust while he waved hand at the damaged area and told me to notify Martin of what I wanted. I was and am completely disgusted and irritated at Eli's aggressive behavior to force me into a $20,000 construction job I did not want or need. Utter complete bullsh*t. I write to this warn other of this disrespectful and suspicious conduct of a salesman to a homeowner for a service unwarranted. FYI - I have notified our family attorney that Eli Jacobs took pictures of the house WITHOUT PERMISSION. If the photos appear on the internet or any other literature, paper or electronic, and posted to any website or propaganda WITHOUT the WRITTEN consent of the homeowner, my mother, then we will consider legal remedy. DELETE THE PHOTOS OF MY HOME!!!!!

Their team handled a variety of work for us, including removing and replacing areas of wood rot, repairing cracks in the stucco, priming, and also painting our fence. They also fixed a couple of problem areas we were especially concerned about--severe wood rot around our irreplaceable picture window, and a completely rotted window sill on one of our faux windows. Both were repaired cleanly and professionally, and those areas now look great. There was also an area where the stucco meets the bottom of the garage; they fixed that, and it wasn't even a second thought for us. Throughout the project, Buildpro was easy to work with--communication was smooth, and the crew was respectful and efficient. Value is good for the cost but since we went with coollife (a 50yr lifespan), a new review would be needed in 5-10yrs which is the typical painting life span. After the job was completed, a few minor details were missed, mostly on the second floor and near the roofline. There are a handful of small spots where primer is still visible or where the original paint colour shows through. Most of these are the areas covered by protective paper or tape for primer and were not touched up afterwards. Some fine details are alo missed where the glazing putty meets the glass on the window. That said, the core work they did--especially the repairs--was solid, it took around 9-10 days of work (typically their jobs are 4 days), and we're happy with the overall outcome. With a bit more attention to final detail and touch-ups, this would have been a perfect experience. We'd still recommend Buildpro Construction, especially for larger repair projects, and would work with them again.

Questioning homeowners about roofs and painting and window upgrades.. that's not passing out flyers when your guys knock on doors and start talking construction. Passing out flyers is simply leaving flyers on doors without speaking to homeowners. And by the way! Certain cities require city permits in order to solicit.

I originally wanted a Doric-style column, but they recommended a rectangular column using a durable PVC-type material (used for piping) and even reduced the price. I was hesitant, but it turned out to be the right call. They completed the job in one day and the house looks noticeably upgraded. Afterward, I noticed some movement in the railing slats. They explained it's normal since the railing is custom fabricated on site (not one solid piece), and similar to others in the neighborhood. Still, they came back out and glued them at no charge, and now everything feels solid. The finished look is beautiful--neighbors have already asked for referrals.
