Gary was a pleasure to work with and extremely knowledgeable. He provided great insight on the scope of work we needed and was very honest and genuinely cared. The team was very professional, did a great job at preparing the house for paint and really paid attention to detail. We are so happy with the quality of work and appreciated the transparency when things needed our attention. Will definitely be using Gary and his team again for future projects. read more

I highly recommend GK Painting with a 10 star review. Gary was responsive and helpful. His workman arrived the next morning after my initial call, patched and painted my damaged drywall so it looked pristine and new, and reinstalled a towel hook. I will use GK Painting again when needed. read more

Gary and team were extremely prompt, thorough, and just a pleasure to work with. Gary's team were outstanding. Always prompt, polite, and took great care working in our home. Super clean. His quote was fair, and he was able to start the project immediately. Work turned out amazing and they really resolved some poor drywall and door work we had done by a different crew even better than I imagined - and quicker. He worked with us every step of the way with great communication and a friendly attitude. Can't say enough good things about these guys. Glad I found a local and reliable team that can help me with the many projects out of my comfort zone in my 50 year old home. Thanks, Gary and team. See you for the next one. read more

I just had my old carpeted staircase converted to hardwood. After the job it required painting and it was too detailed for an amateur like me. Gary came out to give me an estimate and explained all the steps they take to ensure the treatment and paint would be suitable for stair skirts, risers, handrails and banisters. I couldn't be happier with the results. Javier and his crew came on time and worked hard to get the job done in just two days. Highly recommend! read more

Gary and his team are exceptional! We recently bought a fixer home that desperately needed exterior paint. After getting few quotes we decided to go with Gary and so happy we did. They were so prompt and thorough, spent a few days just prepping the house so all the loose stucco and the eves were fixed and paint ready. It turned out better than I imagined and we always receive compliments on how great it looks! I can't recommend Gary and his team enough! read more

If you live in the South Bay area, you might be aware that the coast affects your home a bit differently than it would anywhere else. You need expert advice with a keen attention to detail and all at a reasonable price, well look no further! Gary at GK Painting has your back! In 2022, we were hit with some pretty heavy rain and I needed to have my roof replaced on my home. I went into this task with little to no experience, but what I was good at was researching my options and consulting with several vendors. A critical task to my roof replacement involved fixing up fascia boards (wood trim around the perimeter of the roof). As another contractor nearly finished the roof work, I reached out to 8 different painting companies to look at the task of painting the fascia and the stucco on all the outside walls of the house. Each painter I spoke with gave me all kinds of promises with varying pricing with little detail about cost break down. Their licensing was also questionable. Then, Gary from GK Painting arrived. I was astonished by his immense knowledge about home repair and paint. He was friendly, reasonable, transparent, in no way pushy, and fully licensed + insured! He was the only contractor who pointed out some mistakes done by our roofing contractor, which lead a correction by the roofing contractor. I had not begun an agreement with Gary and he had ALREADY SAVED ME A FEW THOUSAND! Unbelievable! When we got to the topic of pricing, he laid out several options that were easily adjusted based on the scope of work. Since I had already paid a small fortune for my roof, I decided only to have the fascia boards painted. This gave me plenty enough time to save up for the stucco painting later on. Gary's team arrived right after the roofers completed their job. His team was friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable (this must be a standard at GK Painting). The task was done efficiently and I was very impressed with their quality of work. No corners cut, no rookie mistakes and most importantly no actions that would compromise the integrity of the paint. A few months later, I hired the GK Painting team again to paint the house and within a few days they pressure washed, primed and painted with perfect timing during a dry spell. It was pleasure to see the same employees as before, who doesn't like a familiar face? In the end, my wife and I were thoroughly impressed with the work done. Their skill level shows! It is also worth mentioning that they are capable of tasks beyond only painting. If you have an old house like ours, consider GK Painting. We will hire them again soon without hesitation! Thank you again Gary and the GK Painting team! read more

This is the 2nd painting project I contracted with GK Painting. The 1st job was interior painting in 2022 and they did such a good job that I didn't hesitate to contact this company for my exterior painting project. I had my entire house painted, stucco walls surrounding my property repaired and painted, garage door refurbished and painted, siding and fascia board repairs from termite damage done and other small projects. Gary provided estimates timely and began work almost immediately. His crew arrived early and always gave a full days work. They never left the job site without thoroughly cleaning up. Gary was always responsive to my last minute changes and additions. I also had french doors and a back door replaced and Gary's crew repaired the stucco surrounding the new doors outside and plaster walls inside including repainting the kitchen and dining room. I initially chose GK Painting because he is local in Redondo Beach. I like doing business with locals. My next project is a deck replacement and I'm positive I will contact GK Painting when the time comes. read more

We requested an estimate from GK Painting to address a shoddy wall, hoping a fresh coat of paint would suffice. Ok. I'll confess. Shoddy doesn't even begin to describe the two curved drywall debacle I had on my hands. I had planned to ambush these painting companies and see if they had any magic cards to fix my two horrendous curved drywalls and half painted hallways. I would post photos but I don't want the photos to be unfairly associated with GK Painting. Gary arrived on time and thoroughly assessed the situation. Out of all the painting experts I met with, he was the only one that passed my ambush test. While most painting contractors walked in and provided an estimate to get the heck out of here as fast as they could have, Gary thoroughly explained the underlying issues, detailing the specific repairs needed before painting could begin, and provided a clear breakdown of the work involved. His expertise was evident as he educated us on what to consider when hiring a drywall contractor, all within a concise 20-minute visit. GK Painting's approach was unparalleled in professionalism and knowledge. Gary was straightforward and friendly, avoiding sales pressure, and even suggested we attempt to resolve the issue with the previous contractor first, offering alternative contacts for comparison. The detailed estimate arrived via email as promised. Although it was on the pricier end, it seemed reasonable for the work detailed, which involved demoing one curved drywall, rebuilding a curved drywall, sanding down the texture on another, patch, sand, and much much more. It's worth noting that GK Painting's transparency and thoroughness set them apart. We have not moved forward with the project because the estimate provided to us would push us over our total budget so we are currently attempting to reach a resolution with the previous contractor. For anyone facing similar issues or hopefully straightforward paint jobs, Gary's insights and GK Painting's service quality were incredibly valuable. I highly recommend consulting with them for painting needs. read more

Gary and his team did a great job in a very short amount of time! I was a bit late in hiring painters to repaint a fairly significant portion of our interior spaces. I met with Gary for a quote on Tuesday and by Thursday, he was able to have his crew start on the project. They completed 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, a powder room, and stairway walls (not to mention all adjacent trim and stairwell sidings) by the following Monday - right before we left town for vacation. The new furniture delivered the day after we returned from vacation and everything worked out perfectly timed thanks to GK Painting. I highly recommend GK Painting for high quality work. read more

Gary and his team are exceptional. Gary is a master of painting and any other hands-on craft. I highly recommend Gary for any painting or craftsman work. I would suggest everyone seeking painting or any craftsman services to contact Gary. read more

Of the few companies that came to our house to conduct an in-person walk thru of the potential job, Gary was the most thorough in explaining the entire process, the specific types of primer and paint required to complete an exterior paint job on our house. Only Gary was able to offer a solution to an issue I had with our metal siding. Gary's understanding of our style, knowledge of color selection and suggestions resulted in a beautiful combination of colors and we are extremely happy with the outcome. This is a classic case of you get what you pay for. Gary's crew were friendly, accommodating, meticulous, and efficient. They spent an ample amount of time to properly prep all surfaces, covering all areas to prevent overspray, cleaned up every day, and did an amazing job with the painting. Gary's communication kept us informed of the work they were going to complete each day. We would 100% use GK for any future painting needs. read more

Outstanding customer service and attention to detail. He spent two hours when we first met going over the needs of my parents project and noticed evidence of a previous roof leak that none of the other painters I had interviewed noticed. Sure enough the roof started leaking during these torrential rain storms, as we did not get the roof fixed in time, He also was the only painter that knew we needed to get the colors approved by the art jury and took the initiative to get that taken care of before beginning. When I had issues with my contractor, he referred me to his friend Casey of Bay City Construction, who has been my knight in shining armor! They are childhood friends, and Casey has been an invaluable asset to my challenging project. Gary has always been the first to respond to my texts on my team and uses outstanding subs who are clean, professional, and show exquisite attention to detail. Our cost definitely creeped up as we found more and more issues but that is not the fault of the painter, and Gary's contractor has more than saved us the expenses of repairing the other contractors work. Highly recommend Gary without reservation! read more

Gary painted our homes exterior and we are delighted with the fi al result. His crew is clean and friendly. Getting in touch with him is always easy, and his experience was very helpful when we needed to clarify the style and colors we were looking for. Gary and his crew are absolutely amazing! They are very organized, extra meticulous, and surpassed all of my expectations and more. They have been the best crew during my remodel. Gary is very friendly and makes sure he goes the extra mile to satisfy his customers. He even helped us decide on paint colors when my wife and I couldn't agree on a specific color. His recommendations were different from both of ours but we were extremely happy with it afterwards. Do yourself a favor and hire Gary and his team. I obsessively messaged tons of painters to try and get someone lined up before our move in date. I was picky and worried about getting the right person. But I found him. Not only was Gary quick to respond to that first email, he was detailed with his questions and transparent with pricing. Once he started, the whole team was quick but extremely thorough. We even added extra rooms and requests that we had not originally talked about and he was able to add them in but still finish in the same timeline. Incredible. I am SO grateful to Gary and the crew, we had a flawless experience and we will be using them again for other projects ASAP. read more

Hey Yelpers!... We just moved from Austin to LA (Hermosa Beach) and needed help reno-ing our new place. GK Painting showed up on time, was careful with our requests, explained what paint types were being used, and provided great feedback about the worked we hired Gary and his crew to do. We chose to refinish some cabinets instead of replace them - GK made them look like they were brand new (if you need to update your cabinets, CALL GK). An additional item worth noting - we live in a condominium with an HOA and connected units...the HOA president and neighbors commented on how professional and thoughtful Gary's crew was. It's important to avoid disruption when you live close to others or have an HOA - GK made that part of the project very easy. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND GK. Honest, knowledgeable, and top quality service. There are a ton of paint services in the area to choose from but those are the reasons why I went with GK Painting: Honest: Gary did a walkthrough of the house, provided a competitive quote and timeframe, and stuck with it. No surprises at the end, and did not try to throw any additional costs our way after the job was completed. We also initially forgot to mention we wanted to get rid of the speakers in the ceiling + fill the nail holes and paint over them, but he was able to do it without additional charge. Knowledgeable: we provided the paint, and Gary helped us in choosing the specific type of paints that would work best for each room. He actually recommended we exchange one of our buckets for a lower tier as he didn't believe it was necessary and would help cut our costs. He's been in the business for over 20 years so he knows his stuff. He was also kind enough to provide his pro account at Home Depot so we were able to obtain a discount when we purchased the paint ourselves. Top Quality Service: I believe Jimmy and Carlos were the painters and they did a phenomenal job. They also did an excellent job of cleaning up before and after their work was done. After completion, Gary met us at the house and did a walkthrough to ensure we were satisfied with their work. Throughout the entire process from start to finish he was punctual and communicative. I highly recommend GK Painting and would 100% hire them again for any future jobs. I will definitely be referring them as well to any of my friends and family looking to hire painters in the area. read more

I highly recommend GK Painting. We asked Gary to paint the entire townhouse: walls, ceilings, trim, closets, and doors - and we are thrilled with the results. We were sold when Gary first bid the job. He didn't simply give a cost estimate. He discussed colors, type of paint, and the way a few strategic accent walls could create a new look. His consultation helped us find a good color match with the existing floors and cabinets (which we didn't want to change). He also worked extra hard to complete the project while we were away on vacation. Coming back to a brand new space was a real treat. Gary's team did terrific detailed work. There were two pieces of art that had been painted on the wall that we wanted to keep. We didn't expect Gary's team to get right up to the edge of those pieces - but they did, and the result was perfect. All the edging was great. At the end of the project, everything was cleaned up and the result was exactly what we wanted. The entire interaction was a professional, quality experience and a great value for the money we spent. We are so satisfied, we plan on doing additional projects with GK Painting in the future. read more
