This is the 2nd painting project I contracted with GK Painting. The 1st job was interior painting in 2022 and they did such a good job that I didn't hesitate to contact this company for my exterior painting project. I had my entire house painted, stucco walls surrounding my property repaired and painted, garage door refurbished and painted, siding and fascia board repairs from termite damage done and other small projects. Gary provided estimates timely and began work almost immediately. His crew arrived early and always gave a full days work. They never left the job site without thoroughly cleaning up. Gary was always responsive to my last minute changes and additions. I also had french doors and a back door replaced and Gary's crew repaired the stucco surrounding the new doors outside and plaster walls inside including repainting the kitchen and dining room. I initially chose GK Painting because he is local in Redondo Beach. I like doing business with locals. If you live in the South Bay area, you might be aware that the coast affects your home a bit differently than it would anywhere else. You need expert advice with a keen attention to detail and all at a reasonable price, well look no further! Gary at GK Painting has your back! In 2022, we were hit with some pretty heavy rain and I needed to have my roof replaced on my home. I went into this task with little to no experience, but what I was good at was researching my options and consulting with several vendors. A critical task to my roof replacement involved fixing up fascia boards (wood trim around the perimeter of the roof). As another contractor nearly finished the roof work, I reached out to 8 different painting companies to look at the task of painting the fascia and the stucco on all the outside walls of the house. Each painter I spoke with gave me all kinds of promises with varying pricing with little detail about cost break down. Their licensing was also questionable. Then, Gary from GK Painting arrived. I was astonished by his immense knowledge about home repair and paint. He was friendly, reasonable, transparent, in no way pushy, and fully licensed + insured! He was the only contractor who pointed out some mistakes done by our roofing contractor, which lead a correction by the roofing contractor. I had not begun an agreement with Gary and he had ALREADY SAVED ME A FEW THOUSAND! Unbelievable! When we got to the topic of pricing, he laid out several options that were easily adjusted based on the scope of work. Since I had already paid a small fortune for my roof, I decided only to have the fascia boards painted. This gave me plenty enough time to save up for the stucco painting later on. Gary's team arrived right after the roofers completed their job. His team was friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable (this must be a standard at GK Painting). The task was done efficiently and I was very impressed with their quality of work. No corners cut, no rookie mistakes and most importantly no actions that would compromise the integrity of the paint. A few months later, I hired the GK Painting team again to paint the house and within a few days they pressure washed, primed and painted with perfect timing during a dry spell. It was pleasure to see the same employees as before, who doesn't like a familiar face? In the end, my wife and I were thoroughly impressed with the work done. Their skill level shows! We requested an estimate from GK Painting to address a shoddy wall, hoping a fresh coat of paint would suffice. Ok. I'll confess. Shoddy doesn't even begin to describe the two curved drywall debacle I had on my hands. I had planned to ambush these painting companies and see if they had any magic cards to fix my two horrendous curved drywalls and half painted hallways. I would post photos but I don't want the photos to be unfairly associated with GK Painting. Gary arrived on time and thoroughly assessed the situation. Out of all the painting experts I met with, he was the only one that passed my ambush test. While most painting contractors walked in and provided an estimate to get the heck out of here as fast as they could have, Gary thoroughly explained the underlying issues, detailing the specific repairs needed before painting could begin, and provided a clear breakdown of the work involved. His expertise was evident as he educated us on what to consider when hiring a drywall contractor, all within a concise 20-minute visit. GK Painting's approach was unparalleled in professionalism and knowledge. Gary was straightforward and friendly, avoiding sales pressure, and even suggested we attempt to resolve the issue with the previous contractor first, offering alternative contacts for comparison. The detailed estimate arrived via email as promised. Although it was on the pricier end, it seemed reasonable for the work detailed, which involved demoing one curved drywall, rebuilding a curved drywall, sanding down the texture on another, patch, sand, and much much more. It's worth noting that GK Painting's transparency and thoroughness set them apart. We have not moved forward with the project because the estimate provided to us would push us over our total budget so we are currently attempting to reach a resolution with the previous contractor. For anyone facing similar issues or hopefully straightforward paint jobs, Gary's insights and GK Painting's service quality were incredibly valuable. He spent two hours when we first met going over the needs of my parents project and noticed evidence of a previous roof leak that none of the other painters I had interviewed noticed. There are a ton of paint services in the area to choose from but those are the reasons why I went with GK Painting: Honest: Gary did a walkthrough of the house, provided a competitive quote and timeframe, and stuck with it. No surprises at the end, and did not try to throw any additional costs our way after the job was completed. We also initially forgot to mention we wanted to get rid of the speakers in the ceiling + fill the nail holes and paint over them, but he was able to do it without additional charge. Knowledgeable: we provided the paint, and Gary helped us in choosing the specific type of paints that would work best for each room. He actually recommended we exchange one of our buckets for a lower tier as he didn't believe it was necessary and would help cut our costs. I highly recommend GK Painting. We asked Gary to paint the entire townhouse: walls, ceilings, trim, closets, and doors - and we are thrilled with the results. I'd like to give a MAJOR shout out to a local Redondo Beach painting company, GK Painting Inc. I was very nervous in choosing a painter since I've heard stories where people were not happy with their painter or their prep work wasn't very good. Well, I'm so happy that my husband chose GK Painting Inc. They did amazing prep work and I am overall very impressed with this company. More than I've ever anticipated. The owner Gary was accommodating and was willing to meet with us last minute; the night that I pinged him, just so my husband and I can choose the house and accent color before my hubby was going to be very difficult to access. Gary was patient, professional, and gave us great advice. His crew were machines! They all had their responsibilities and executed them with precision and were all productive and cooperative. They pressured washed our house from top to bottom, sanded the house to ensure a superb finish, caulked blemishes, primed, caulked all our windows / doorbell, carefully protected certain areas from being painted, stained the wood, and spray painted our home, eaves, doors, and fence. There was even a little round alarm next to our house that I never noticed and he volunteered to paint it a cute fire engine red as a nice accent to our grey house. Gary is also very observant, he noticed that our wood railing could get damaged quite quickly if we just stain it. He truly believed that it was best to paint the top with the accent color to provide not just for aesthetics but added protection to our railing so the wood doesn't rot. He did that as a bonus to us since we weren't planning on having that painted. They made our old 1950s home into a modern masterpiece. When they were officially done, they did additional finishing touches, washed our windows, house (since they sanded the wood before they were going to stain), and removed all the webs around the house. Even my neighbors have come up to me and told me that this painting company was pretty great. Their prices were competitive where I got multiple quotes and they are worth the money. Since our home is propped very high up (almost three floors), some painting companies mentioned that they will need to build a scaffold to paint (which means extra cost). Well GK Painting was a pro and didn't need scaffolding and did an excellent job with their ladders and followed safety precautions to ensure their workers were safe.
