The job ended up patchy and not acceptable....smooth stucco is very difficult to get right. I ended up finding Southside Stucco on my own through yelp because their reviews all 5 star and John was knoweledgable and his price was very fair. We wanted a smooth finish, which is notoriously the most difficult stucco style to get right because every flaw, bump, and seam stands out. John just finished the job last week he it looks amazing...it's 100% seamless, perfect smooth coat across the whole surface, around the edges, right up to the gutters, around the mouldings....it looks perfect. If you want smooth stucco done right the first time without having to pay someone else to fix it later, just hire John.

OH BOY, STUCCO BOY!…read more I met with Jereme (the owner of Stucco Boy/Builder Boy) to discuss an exterior refinishing project. We've got some TEX-COTE that the prior owners added that is failing and in need of repair. To their credit, Jereme is knowledgeable about TEX-COTE and the company even has a landing page on their website describing how to fix a failing application. They offer services to repair and re-apply, and Jereme mentioned this would be an option for us, in addition to a more involved re-plastering. Jereme said he'd break out different options for us. Despite Jereme's demeanor coming off a bit slick and salesy, them being a local company with experience with TEX-COTE gave me some confidence. I received a proposal that I felt was reasonably priced. Before selecting the company for my project, I had some follow-up questions I asked the office staff via email regarding coordinating the project with other work being done-namely a re-roof project that I'd be undertaking. After a little back-and-forth, Jereme called me directly. I was able to ask my questions about coordination with the roofing company, and he put my mind at ease. He described how the roofing company would handle tear-off and paper the roof, and then Stucco Boy would come in and water blast and prep. He was pretty specific about his recommendations and that fully addressed my questions. He said that I'd be able to put them into contact with the roofer to work out the specifics and "when roofing companies hear that, they are relieved"-indicating to me that there'd be a proactive direct coordination that would help streamline the process. WONDERFUL! After receiving HOA approval for the project, I reached out to Builder Boy and said I'd like to proceed with them. I followed up with a few questions including one about timing and order of operations to coordinate with the roofing and solar to take place (roughly, at this point) in January. The responses I got from the office staff to my questions were different than what Jereme had indicated; instead of coordinating with the roofers, they said that it would be better for them to do their work after the roofers had completed. There was some back-and-forth where I tried to reconcile the differences in the office staff's answers/recommendations of doing work after everything else was done and what Jereme had indicated to me on our earlier phone call. Two days after not hearing anything back, I received a phone call from Jereme. He indicated to me that he'd heard from his team that I was "frustrated" and that I had taken an "aggressive tone" with his staff and he hoped to understand my frustration but also see if there was a path forward. He indicated that he cares about his staff; the implication he was stepping in to shield them from unfair treatment. I told him that I was confused, and asked if he'd read the emails-my hope was to ensure we were on the same page about what my issue actually was and for me to understand what about my correspondence was "aggressive." He replied he'd "skimmed" the email-so I asked him if I'd be able to read it to him--much of my confusion stemmed from what the office staff was suggesting and how it was much different than what Jereme had indicated regarding coordinating steps with the roofing company. He responded "I get it, you're a good guy" as if my primary intent in reading him the email to was somehow clear my name, and he followed up with "I'd rather not live in the past and instead just move forward." Wait, seriously?! You imply I'm mistreating your staff, you're only vaguely aware of what my issue actually is and when I attempt to talk in specific terms about either of those things you suddenly want to "move forward"? I tried to explain to Jereme the disconnect, and how the staff's recommendation wasn't what he and I had discussed earlier, so I was confused. He said "it can be done either way" and "it's up to the customer"- but kept insisting that his staff was correct in their suggestion without acknowledging it was different than what he himself earlier had suggested, and that was the source of my confusion. The whole time it felt like Jereme was trying to gaslight me, and whenever I tried to be specific about our conversation or clarify what my issue actually was, he'd deflect and say dismissively "it's up to you; just tell us when to show up and we'll be there." I was pretty floored at this point and couldn't shake the feeling that I was getting hustled by this guy. I knew that as he kept insisting he wanted to "move forward" without actually talking about the nature of the problem, it was a sign that this wasn't the kind of company, and Jereme the kind of person, I could trust. So I calmly told him that it was clear to me it wouldn't be a good fit, he said "OK," and that was the extent of my experience with Builder Boy. Jereme: because you didn't bother reading the email exchange before, I posted it here for your convenience.

We also needed someone to paint the entire house, including the eaves, wood windows, trim, and exterior doors. As the project progressed, we also added on removing a window, re-siding the back of our house (a long wall without stucco), installing a new back door, and replacing our old garage door with a brand new one. Through all these changes, Daniel and sons rolled with the punches and delivered an absolutely gorgeous end product. They even consulted on paint colors, and I could not be more satisfied with the results. As a bonus, Daniel and his sons are just the nicest people you'll meet (and you will meet ALL four sons). I'm originally from the Midwest, and they reminded me of everyone I know from back home - friendly, honest, and always up for a chat. They stopped by the house every day to check on progress, and I feel like I really got to know them. A++ communication. Don't hesitate to call these guys! We have a sliding barn door for a guest bathroom, and because there was a bit of a gap from the wall to the door, it wasn't very private for our guests, and there was also no latch on the barn door. It's a strange choice for a bathroom, but we also didn't have the budget to change the entire door. I reached out to a few pros to get their assessments, and Pro Handyman Service was not the cheapest option for this job, but they had great reviews and I appreciated that they gave me an upfront quote. The quote actually helped me to budget accordingly, and I didn't feel like there were going to be a bunch of hidden charges that I wouldn't be able to plan for. I also felt that Pro Handyman Service was easy to communicate with and they responded to my questions very quickly over Yelp messages. They are busy, by the way, so try to schedule early so you can get a time slot. Denis arrived at our home promptly and on time, and was very careful to keep the home clean by wearing booties to cover his shoes. He listened and reviewed the situation, then gave us several options based on his opinions and experience. For example, he said he could use either wood or plastic paneling to add a "privacy edge" to the sliding door, and we ultimately settled on wood for the sides and plastic for the top of the door. He had everything needed for the job and just needed to leave to purchase the wood paneling and returned promptly to do the install. He also painted and caulked the new wooden privacy edge on each side of the door. We had already purchased a latch, which he also installed while accommodating the added privacy edge to the door. Denis worked very quickly and efficiently, leaving no mess behind. As you can see from the photos, the installation looks quite neat and clean, and almost looks as if the door came that way. It was nice that he was able to cut the privacy edge to accommodate the baseboard, too. Overall, this was a very positive experience with Pro Handyman Service and we think you'll be pleased with them as well! Hopefully this review will be helpful to anyone else who is looking for someone who needs a handyman (and especially if they have a specific request that might be similar to ours)!

I had a very odd issue of an extremely shakey washing machine, which after several repair attempts led me to inspect the floor. Denis his colleague showed up to move the washer/dryer and inspect the floor, and determined it was not level (it was VERY uneven). Denis gave me several options for how to proceed. They took the time to show me the support frame under the floor and explain why it wasn't level, and what they could do to level it as much as possible. I had hired Pro Handyman Service to address the floor only, but after they were finished and placed everything back the way it was, Denis asked to see a wash cycle on the washing machine to see if the floor fixed the machine as well - it worked great, no more intense shaking! Highly recommend, and will definitely be using their services again in the future.

Kizzy and Alice absolutely delivered. They cleaned my apartment top to bottom. Baseboards, surfaces, floors, everything. They even did my laundry which was such a huge help. I stepped out to run errands while they worked and came back about four hours later to an apartment that felt completely reset. The space looked amazing and felt so much lighter. Beyond the quality of the cleaning, they were also just lovely people. Polite, helpful, respectful of my space, and they even gave my dog some love while they were here. The manager came to our home the same day we called and gave us an decent quote after there assesment. They painted the siding on front of my house, pressure washed the entire house, including the back, which was all stucco. They repaired several areas where stucco had flaked off. They painted two iron gates and an iron railing. They did a beautiful cosmetic repair to a large wood beam on the front of my house. They built an entire new wooden mini wall enclosure to conceal trash bins. Jonathan, the owner, was completely professional, and extremely pleasant to work with. His men were very good at their jobs and very courteous. His pricing was very fair and very competitive. I would recommend Color vision painting, with the highest degree of confidence.

Pricing was competitive and also appreciated that Jonathan actually met me in person for the estimate so we could go over the scope of the work in detail. Jonathan also was timely with responses to text and email!

Be very cautious when dealing with this company. One of their company vans was involved in a…read morehit-and-run on my vehicle, and despite having proof, the owner (Rob) has taken no responsibility. This raises serious concerns about how they manage their drivers and their business overall. A company that allows this type of behavior without accountability is not one I would trust. I do not recommend this business.
