RENEGED ON CONTRACT! After months of negotiating, planning and laying out the project, we signed an agreement to do the work. I had someone demo my back yard, Efficient Construction was building a deck, stairs, wall topper and replacing my side walk, and a Turf company installing my Turf. This has been agreed to in early October 2023. Demo was done and sometime in late November, Efficient Construction reneged on our written agreement and wanted 33% more than the deal agreed to. 90% labor. At this point my backyard with a 65 feet section of tall shrubs, a deck, an above ground pool and all the brick pavers were all demo'd and it was just dirt. And as off February 2nd 2024 it is still dirt. There was a point were I was almost willing to pay more just to get it done, but I decided on principal not to do business with them and hire someone else for the original agreed to budget. Why they couldn't do the work they argreed to, tells you that their word isn't worth much, contracts are only to protect them and money is all they really care about. So I write this to warn you not to trust them. As for the guys who sold the project, Dalton & Myles, nice guys but they shouldn't have taken on this project and misrepresented how great this "licensed" and "Insured" Company was. One guy came last week and had his partner come under the guise of a quote for painting the house. They inspected all around the house giving me some doom and gloom about my house structure. After 45 mns to an hour they said they needed another 45 mns to talk to me about their approach to construction, etc. I said I'd just need a quote. They said I should have my fiance there. I said I was the decision maker and to just give me the quote. They said they couldn't give me a quote because the price they give me now and the one in a month will go up because of inflation. Lots of circles around and around and they left without giving me a quote and scheduled in a 45 mn sit down in 6 months on a Saturday which of course I'll be cancelling because I wasn't born yesterday and I know how it works...you check the work needed and give a quote. I don't need a 45 minute hard sale about my house when I want a house paint quote. Needless to say I won't be using their services. I don't like my time being wasted. read more

If I could give them fewer stars I would. Came late. First estimate for ductwork, he barely looked in the space long enough to evaluate. The other person from their team who was supposed to come was late. When asked if we wanted to wait, we said we would, but then they told us he couldn't make it. When the man arrived at the rescheduled time he said we told them that we had someplace to be and that's why he didn't come. Then he said our job, which two other contractors have priced out as being about $50,000+, was too little for Efficient to do. I did point out that we are also looking to have our 4 baths and kitchen done as well, but this smaller project was the first phase. Lastly he said wouldn't give us a quote unless both myself and my husband were there to listen to their pitch. It was like they were trying to sell us a timeshare. Very unprofessional. He said he was running late, gave me a later time, and was a no show. He sent a worker to our house with no clue on what he was doing. Showed up with no samples of any kind. I needed to add a shower in my parents room and Dalton and his crew came through. Dalton listened intently to my parents needs and offered creative and practical solutions to the limited space available. For the shower addition, he was able to skillfully make it so one could roll a wheelchair right in, with no step at all. A slight slope was made for wheelchair access and water drainage. Dalton offered to assist me in choosing tile, fixtures, and grab bars for my parents. They look beautiful. He had to deal with many different personalities at my parents home and he was patient and professional through the whole job. His crew was always prompt, friendly and cleaned up after themselves. DO NOT HIRE Efficient sent people to canvas our neighborhood and look for homes they thought could use repair. They made contact with us, and sent an estimator to quote our roof. We need a roof, so we signed a contract to replace it and the insulation. A week before the project was supposed to begin, they called and said they weren't going to do it. The reason being they would lose money doing so. A bummer to hear, as we had made plans to leave during the removal process, but logically we ask, 'Is there a new price? What specifically was over budget?' I spoke with three different supervisors, and made five attempts to learn what the adjusted price would be. None of the supervisors showed up to our appointments, no follow-up estimate was presented. They ghosted. The cell phone numbers on the business cards for the estimator and the project manager were out of service, and their office would not return any calls. Best as I can tell, their hustle is to begin a project, and then extort money from the homeowner for additional services once construction has begun. Or maybe they go into older neighborhoods where families are more likely to have owned their homes for a while and have equity, knowing that they'll be able to get more money out of them when push comes to shove. We had been saving up for this project, and didn't have much equity to pull out of our house, so maybe we weren't a well worth fishing. She hired the company to do some simple home improvements she sigh a contract with them on 4/29/21 and the contract states for the job to be done 5-7 days since it was a very "simple job" and today is 6/7/21 and there's details off our contract that haven't been done. I called the company many times, called the guy who came in to offer the service and spoke to many of their employees up to this point I know half of their company and I still cannot get this resolved. The worst part about it is that they also took advantage of my senior mother and got her to sign another contract with them for more more on the house at a very high cost!!!! This company are a bunch of con artists that may possibly rob your home. They set up an appointment with you to view both inside and outside of your property as you wait for them to give you a quote. However, they would spend at least an hour talking your ear off regarding how good the company's workmanship is. Three weeks have passed by and no one contacted me with a free estimate! Their website consist of purchased stock photographs with bogus employee photos. I met four of the workers in person and none of them are listed by name or photo on their website. I have asked for an estimate of 3 windows / glasses. He sent me one with 10 Hours delay. ‍ Sam, I had to send you 2 texts this afternoon before having an email from you with 1 quotation instead of 3 despite the fact you informed me yesterday you would send me the quotes this morning. We had to go back and forth by text for you to give me the correct information I have requested yesterday because you misunderstood or get confused (after less than 24h you get confused doesn't seem right, especially you looked young). I informed you yesterday about the big hiccups I had with some handymen and contractors in the past but apparently you didn't take it into account and acted like them: lack of professionalism, lack of communication. On top of it, you asked me to remind you my email address that I wrote myself on your note pad on which you wrote the measurements of my windows. Very very unprofessional. I didn't contact you from the beginning. One of your colleague knocked at my door the day before "pretending" he will do some work in the neighborhood. I was ok to be called / visited for a quote the next day to have another estimate despite the fact that I am already with a very good contractor. But always good to challenge everyone. And as usual, the quote comes from your boss over the phone while you were at my place. If you are not capable to give yourself a quote to your future customers but have to wait from your boss who is not physically there, what is the point? Thank you for wasting my time and making me frustrated but I will not, for sure, working with you and your company. I've had the most positively atrocious experience with this company. From the price I'm paying to the false promises. They promised work to be at full completion in 3 weeks that's now going on two months; every day, there is an excuse as to why they are not coming out to work on paid labor and the day they did come out to do some work they came for 20 mins to put up six beams which mind you there are children here, so this is causing a hazard. While some of the work they have completed looks nice, it is already messing up, which has not been a good experience. When I call to complain to the company, I only hear that I understand your frustration and that we are prepared. (What are you prepared for to not complete the work to make more excuses) If you understood my frustration, the result would have been met with quality without any reason. About a month ago I had Efficient Construction install an energy efficient roof along with windows and my house feels the difference drastically. I've noticed my house maintain the warm temperature inside while the weather is cold outside and vice versa with some hot days. My family has owned our house since the 60's and the upgrades installed by this company gave my house a complete makeover. High quality work worth every penny. They don't do quality work, and charge a lot for it. They were not responsive once they signed us up. Major disappointment! The presentation sold us, even though it was very expensive. Thinking back it was high pressure sales tactics, (over 8 hours) we were tired and hungry. Ultimately they did not remove the dry rot they agreed to, did not respond to requests, repaired the area only after inspector pointed it out, and left a mess around my house.
