Our experience with Edwin's Tow was exceptional, VERY different than what we had read. Lisa was friendly, accommodating and very easy to work with. We called in advance to find out about all charges, so there were no surprises when it came to making payment. To clarify a few points, they do accept credit cards (a 3% bump is required,) cash or Zelle. Additionally, they are not a AAA shop, but coordinating with AAA to pick up the vehicle to tow to a local collision center was effortless. Additionally, we did have to retrieve several personal items from the vehicle on Monday morning (the office is closed on the weekends.) My car was towed from this company and they damaged my vehicle. First they overcharged 809 dollars to get my car out when the pick-up and drop off were about a 5 mile location. They charged me 1.5 hours of service. They also returned my vehicle with damage that was not there beforehand. I relayed this to the the guy there and he referred me to Javier. Upon speaking with Javier, he began with remarks and saying I was lying and "bullshitting" in his words. This is the level of intimidation this guy and this company wants to give. Javier began cursing at me dismissing my claim. BEWARE. They have these low reviews for a reason and I have contacted the Better Business Burea because they are working under very weird circumstances. This is a horrible towing company to work with. I understand they are hired to help out businesses, property's, etc., but a lot of innocent people, with little to no funds, are left at the mercy of the most rudest, insensitive, business out there. Car was left less than 2 hours parked for babysitting. Car was towed I guess for not having a permit for the property. I understand they are doing their job and we weren't intentionally trying to break a rule. It was a misunderstanding on the property details and it was later discussed with the property management company. Main reason for this review is the treatment and getting the car out scam of only having to use Zelle and Cash. No credit card/debit cards accepted. Starting from the dispatch call, rude customer service rep. How do you not treat everyone fairly no matter what the situation is? If your car was towed, your kids car towed etc., you would call a place with concern and questions. Absolutely no reason to train your dispatch to be rude and insensitive when someone is upset or stressed. Not everyone has $600-$1000 to fork out in overnight. Not everyone is going to be thrilled to not have a car to go to work the next day. We are forced to pay a storage fee, even if we found our car towed an hour after the work was done. Your customer service dispatch could at least alleviate some of the stress by acting like they care -even if they don't! At Edwin's towing, you get hung up on multiple times. They only accept Zelle or cash and their credit card machine was supposedly broken, until Monday. So again, you are left with an additional $120 storage fee if you wanted to pay by card. Be aware Of where you park so you won't have to deal with this headache. It really was a costly, unintentional mistake on our part, but to be treated like your money is all they care about and your feelings don't mean anything, does make this experience sting more. It can ruin your day for sure. Especially when most of your paycheck is going to a mean business. First timers here in this situation and it's the pits for sure. We also discovered contents were moved around in the car. Photos in the car were moved in other areas of the car. We feel someone was looking in the car for valuables. this is against laws and very unprofessional and dishonest. $600 bill breakdown. $60 storage Impound a night, Private property tow $390, $150 after hours gate fee( unfair charge as they close at 5pm) -we called an hour later to get the car but they were closed. So you are at the mercy and forced to pay an after hours late fee. Nice way to start our Father's Day weekend. Shame on you Edwin's. Had my car towed for a parking violation. I totally accept that was my fault and I was in the wrong. However, this company charged me $537 to get my car back. That's fucking outrageous. Also, they didn't accept payments and only accepted cash or Zelle. When I arrived there I said I would pay via Zelle. Car was parked in front of my Moms house for 2 minutes. Neighbors alerted us to the fact our car was being towed. Asked the driver to drop the car and he would not. We were on private property. About 5 minutes after the tow we found the address and took my moms car to the other side of upland to go get our car. We waited for about 10 minutes before the tow truck showed up with our car which happened to be just after their "after hours" so they could charge extra for being after hours. How did it take the driver at least 15 minutes longer to get to a location he is familiar with, than me, who left 5 minutes later than him and didn't know exactly where I was going. Got my car towed last night around 9pm, called the company at 9:24pm and the lady on the phone was unable to confirm if they had towed my car, was very rude and unhelpful, so I was not sure if it was towed or stolen. I love 4 min from actual location, drove there and found the tow truck driver, he confirmed that he did just drop off the car but they refused to get anyone out to the location so I can pay to have my car released. I called in the morning and they gave me total of $620 to pick up for less than 12 hours. I tried to pick it up first thing when they opened at 8am, they told me I couldn't until 9am. They then stated my total to get my car was $686 and stated the tow took 1.2 hours when it was towed 4 min up the street. This company is pulling some grimey if not illegal stuff. SCAMMER ALERT... I was parked at my Apartmemts with a parking pass. My friend noticed that a car was getting towed when we looked it happened to be mine. We run outside the tow truck driver stops with my car hooked on it and hops out the truck. I ask him why my car was getting towed because I have a pass. He claimed someone called. After talking to the security of the apartments he said he did not call and that Edwins Towing company was not even the people assigned to the complex to tow cars. He said that Pepes towing was the people that would have been the ones to tow my car. So I called the office spoke to a girl named Ashley whom was extremely rude. Don't know why they have her answering phones or dealing with customers, but this is why she's a dispatcher at a tow yard lol. She couldn't tell me why my car was towed or anything. Unprofessional company. My car was being towed after being parked for less than a minute. I ran outside to talk to "Andrew" the driver and was told by "Humberto" via their office that I could pay $150 cash only for the driver to lower my car back onto the street so I can move my car. After I got the money ready I was then told by the driver "Andrew" that this was no longer longer allowed and it's not something their company does. I had no choice but to let the driver leave because they were telling me that if this took any longer I would get charged even more for extended "service". I paid $350 to get my car back from their yard. Javier Gonzalez is apparently the manager but he was also the owner at some point when they were trying to pass me around to different employees when I was negotiating to lower my fee. Javier used his cell to make a call to apparently ask the owner (which was supposedly himself earlier) if he can lower my fee. When he hung up he said the owner will do it for $400, essentially removing $25. After I said that's still way too high Javier said "How much cash do you have on you"? I told him I only had $150 because earlier his driver told me he'd put down my car for $150 cash. Javier said he'd go down to $350 cash if I wanted to go to an ATM to get the rest of the cash. After I got my car I called Javier Gonzalez using the number provided on his business card. I needed to understand how this company can consistently change what's "allowed". I got yelled at and cussed out by Javier G over the phone. He called me "garbage", and said "go ahead and take us to court"! "But I'll tell you right now, we've never lost". When I told him he was being unprofessional he said "you're calling me after my work hours so I can say whatever the F I want". Businesses like this thrive off of gullible people. I only got it down from $425 because I kept calling them out on what they where saying..... "The manager left, I cant do anything". I was parked in my driveway, yet they towed my car and tried to say I was parked in the "fire lane". Helloooooo, I was parked in my own freakin' driveway!!! Lol. Really? Then -- I come out and my car is gone. I thought it was stolen!! I call the police, looking for my car, then my neighbor comes to tell me that they saw the tow truck driver exiting the gated community with my car! I finally find the number to the company, at 11:30pm... Almost midnight! The guy tells me he'll meet me at 12midnight. Fine. What choice do I have. $400, cash only! Are you out of your mind? This company had no right to tow my truck and then make me pay. I live in the park and had every right to park where I parked.
