I was excited to try an independent coffee shop in the area, but was disappointed. I don't drink coffee, but had some tea. It wasn't bad and the staff was friendly, but the ambiance was awful. There was dust everywhere and sticky floors surfaces like they hadn't been cleaned in awhile. The furniture was also extremely worn and dirty looking. It felt dingy and uninviting. I understand a small business struggling, but it just didn't look like they were proud of the place. read more

I could stay in this place for hours. Impeccable vibes of a mom and pop shop, old but comfy chairs, delicious pastries and tasty chai. The owners are this older couple that are very lively and funny. Very cozy atmosphere and quiet save for the tv in the background which makes you feel like you're at your grandpa's house. read more

Very friendly vibe, beautiful baked goods, and great service. Edwin is a super nice guy. My only recommendation would be to deep clean the place. The floors were filthy and we were there right after 8am. The glass display had smudges all over it, and a bunch of old crumbs inside as if it isn't wiped down very often. Didn't affect quality of food and drink, just one of those things that need to be done and was very noticeable. read more

From what I can tell, this coffee shop is the highlight of Roseville. The scone and muffin I got were amazing, honestly some of the best I've had in a while and the coffee was smooth and delicious. Loving the strong family vibe and small town friendliness here. Even other customers provided acknowledgment. I haven't found anything quite like this in Sacramento. So, if you're coming here from the city, don't expect to rush. And maybe consider downshifting a bit. Ed toasts his own beans. Legend has it that Mom makes the quiche. Very nice friendly customer service almost everything is made from the scratch, coffee beans are roasted in house you have a expert and coffee beans here. Coffee beans are never older than 7 days. The furniture inside is a little old but still deserves 5 stars read more

Such a cute coffee shop with good coffee and service. The owner here is super friendly, when I asked about flavored lattes, he was willing to make it to any flavors! I got the medium hazelnut latte ($4.25). Latte wasn't too sweet, and had the right amount of hazelnut flavor, glad that the owner suggested this flavor. This place might not be the best place to study, since it's hot inside, but would be great during the winter times. There are unique frappe flavors, so I would def like to try that on my next visit! read more

Edwins is not a bad coffee shop. But given the strong coffee shop options in Sacramento, it's a place I would get coffee to go but not sit and sip my drink at. The lattes we ordered were tasty (hazelnut latte, almond roca latte) and they had a large drink menu as well as some food. But the place seemed cluttered. The patio area is a bit nicer. They do have some nice looking pastries but I didn't try any. Maybe next time. read more

Edwins is the spot. I'm from Southern California and I make it a point to pop in at least once every time I visit the area. It's the one thing that's always on my to do list. It feels like home. Or better yet, it feels like that family member's house you can show up at no matter the time or day and they welcome you with open arms. They meet you where you are. The kind of comfortable where you can just show up and be yourself and not have to worry about entertaining anyone or being someone other than your most authentic self. It's the kind of warm and cozy that reminds you of your Grandma making you her special hot chocolate and it's always just the way you like it... It's a wonderfully quirky spot and always has the best tunes, and trust me it makes all the difference. But more than that you'll always be greeted with a warm smile and don't worry if you can't figure out what you want to drink, Edwin has a knack for helping you find your most perfect drink, but somehow always seems to surpass your expectations. Very disappointed. Slow service. Ordered a coffee (self-serve). Was told to come back to give rest of our order as the only person working was making two sandwiches. Eventually ordered a bagel and a latte. Took forever to get our order. Bagel was toasted with a *small* serving of cream cheese on the side. Latte was fine. We sat outside as we have a toddler and don't want to disturb other customers. Strange moldy couch and dirty toys on the patio. Really don't understand how this place gets 4.5 stars. read more

Really good coffee, roasted by Edwin, and fantastic quiche, baked by his mom. There are frequently four choices of quiche, including a tall breakfast quiche with potato crust filled with ham, spinach, carrot and cheddar. Her triple-berry muffins are moist, but not oily, and almost cake-like. He makes a mean cappuccino, and the straight Sumatran coffee is excellent, as well. To top it off, Ed's the nicest proprietor you'll ever meet. The shop could use some refurbishment, but in this lovely covid era, everything is to-go, although there is decent outside on the shaded patio. read more

The good- Ed himself mans the joint most of the time. His mom makes the quiches and loafs. He roasts the coffee on a roaster in the front corner of the shop. The black and white mocha is all time. The pepper jack and turkey bread loaf is delicious and the rice crispy treat dipped in chocolate hits the spot when you want something sweet. Ed has a solid list of shakes and smoothies for the kids on those hot summer afternoons. The bad- Okay... Not terrible, but true. This is a local business, typical staff is one to four people, it doesn't matter if one person is working or four people. No one is in a hurry. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU'RE IN A HURRY. You will be frustrated and it'll likely ruin your experience. It's pretty common to find people loudly yapping about politics and smoking cigarettes on the patio. Can be a little obnoxious, but comes with the territory. The quality of the coffee, the heart and soul, the feel of this local spot far outweighs the bad. It's just not for everyone and I'm fine with that. read more

But the service is slow. I bet if he hired 1-2 more people it would make a big difference. You can tell the owner knows the regular customers and they like him. I really like this place. It has a great family owned and run business feel to it. It has both indoor and outdoor seating which is great for when the weather is nice. It has an extensive menu with reasonable prices. And the customer service was top notch. I ordered a smoothie and breakfast bagel sandwich. The smoothie was made with real fruit and juice and tasted amazing. The bagel sandwich was prepared well with good quality ingredients and was well presented.
