As a certified pediatric optometrist, she's the only one with the patience, skill and bedside manner to help when I need to have my eyes dilated...yes even into my 40's :) She recently expanded her practice to this other location in downtown Miami Lakes and works mostly from there. I was told by the front office staff that there's usually another doctor at her original location. Before I became more physically active, she was the one who said I should have my cholesterol checked based on what she saw on my eye exam. Both of her offices have imaging that can take an in-depth picture of the inside of the eye to evaluate the different working parts. The good thing about this device, I was told, is it gives one an alternate to the infamous dilation drops. Ah yes, the drops. Since I had a substantial change in my lens prescription, have a family history and had been a couple of years since I had the dilation she recommended I get it done this year (thankfully all is good). Yes, the drops feel like that scene in "Clockwork Orange" But Dr. Castellanos has a wonderful chairside manner and was able to keep me calm through that procedure. Like her original office, she has a digital lens system that lets her check multiple combinations for glasses pretty quickly. There's also a great selection of lenses, including some very nice rimless like the ones I chose. The candy part in the office name? You get a complementary dessert after the procedure (the raspberry chocolate truffle is my choice.)

I went back to Americas Best (WORST) the lady confirmed that one lens had no prescription. She sent it back to get corrected if not I can get my money back. I asked if I can receive it at another store that is close by she said yes. I received after a week and half an email that my glasses arrived. I confirmed on the phone of the address of store, she said yes. Went today to store that I confirmed they don't have it. It's at the other store. When I was there the first time at the store a guy was complaining he could not see after picking up his glasses. Well it happened to be that the associate from the store put the lenses backwards. That should have been the only sign HOW BAD THESE STORES ARE. I warn everyone to avoid these stores if you don't want a headache. While I was at the store there were several people waiting with complaints.

I explained to her what was said to me this past Saturday yet she continued to cut me off without allowing me to explain myself. Keep in mind that I no longer live in Miami or Miami dade and I still decided to make my app with them because I've been a customer for so long and everyone there is actually very nice and attentive to their clients needs except the old bitter lady that answered the phone today in the morning. NOT TO MENTION I DO NOT LIVE IN MIAMI OR MIAMI DADE. I LIVE ALMOST 2 hours away and yet I still drove all the way from my new area to them to get my exam done with them since I've always gone there since 2017. After that phone call we hung up and a few minutes later I called back to get a copy of my prescription for both glasses and contacts for my personal records and files since I have an archive at my house with all of my personal records. The lady once again started to be rude and she explained that the prescription might change since I had just gotten the exam done on Saturday which I 100% understood in which I even responded "I understand what you're explaining to me but I would still like a copy of my prescription, whether it changes or not, for MY personal files." She got so bothered for whatever reason. I even told her that if I lived in Miami I would go myself but if she can pls help me out since I live almost 2 hours away. Anywho, long story short, she kept Cutting me off and was not allowing me to explain myself. After I asked for her name all she said was "bueno te dejo bye" and hung up on me without giving me the opportunity to let me finish speaking or providing me her name. I was even about to cry of how rudely and poorly I was treated by this older lady even after I told her I've been a patient with them since 2017. I literally called back 15, FIFTEEN TIMES, and she did not pick up the phone and kept ignoring the call. I am upset because I drove down there on Saturday, paid for my exam and now I don't even want to go back anymore while that lady is still there. I'm only leaving 2 stars because everyone else really was nothing but amazing to me in my years of being there. Truly upset and at a loss for words. I'm not sure if the calls are recorded or not but I don't have any reason to lie, exaggerate the situation or make this up. I know they have many more clients and losing me as a client might not even be of importance or affect them but I'm still in shock of how rude this older lady was and so I just wanted to share my personal experience.

This was my third visit to this location, and every experience has been excellent. The staff is always friendly, professional, and helpful, making the entire process easy. The manager has taken great care of both my wife and me since our first visit, and her customer service is outstanding. I highly recommend this location. The only downside is that there may be a short wait if it's busy, but scheduling an appointment usually makes the process much faster.

That's the reason I had some issues with my glasses recently. He gave me a new prescription for contacts and for new eye glasses. As always, he was great at answering all the questions I had. When I visited his website, I noticed his office takes many different insurance carriers. After you get your prescription from Dr. Grover, you can order your contacts from WalMart or online by mail order since Wal-Mart has a partnership with 1800Contacts.com. WalMart carries Johnson & Johnson Acuvue lens. It's nice to get them via mail order so you don't have to come back to their office to pick them up. There are so many different places to buy glasses and contact these days, it is important to keep a copy of your prescription. I would highly recommend Dr. Grover if you need an annual eye exam or need contact lens.

I couldn't believe he said that. Then I made an appt with the optical dept in Target and we were both so impressed . Dr Vázquez was so patient with Mom and took his time to explain everything and was gentle with how he tested her. My Mom said that this was the nicest dr and best eye exam she has ever had!! Dr. Vázquez works at Bascom Palmer Institute but also works at Target optical every other Sat. From the sales girl to manager to the dr I would highly recommend going here for your eyes exam and glasses. If I could I would rate more than a 10+++! Today we picked up her glasses and again the young lady working there made sure the glasses fit perfectly and Mom loves her new glasses. Now she can see the tv with no problem.
