Doctor Jorge Garcia is a really great eye-doctor and deserves a shout out. He is super friendly, knowledgeable and service oriented. After he measured my eyes, I ended up buying glasses at a different store. After three weeks they still did not feel right. Jorge Garcia remeasured my eyes and confirmed that the prescription was correct. He then went on to check the new glasses and adjusted them as the height of the areas in the lenses differed from my old glasses. This is something that the eyecare shop should have done and was certainly an 'over and above' from Jorge. I can highly recommend him! Best, Arnout. read more

At the optical, Wilfredo is incredible. He has been in business for over 30 years and likes helping his customers and dedicates the needed time to find the perfect fit for you. This Visionworks is kind of like 2 different facilities in 1 storefront: In the rear corner is where you'll find the receptionist for the resident optometrist here, Dr. Jorge Garcia. Many other Yelpers have given him high praise in their reviews, and he's definitely deserving. When I came here for my scheduled appointment they were running about 25 minutes behind, but once I was called, the eye exam was thorough and Dr. Garcia was personable and took the time to explain everything to me. Not only did I come here because I'd received a coupon in the mail from Visionworks at around the same time I was due for an eye appointment, but a friend who's in "the business" mentioned that Dr. Garcia is one of the best optometrists in the Miami area. That was high praise from someone I trust. The other part of this Visionworks store is at the front where they sell the frames and glasses. In stark contrast to Dr. Garcia, the staff working in that area of this store aren't very good in my experience. They aren't terribly outgoing or helpful, you're pretty much on your own to pick out and try on frames, they don't seem to check in on anyone or help make suggestions, and once I selected my frames they showed me the price for those with my insurance plan which was great, but when they started adding on all the extra charges, they weren't explaining things very clearly and they had various $$ amounts they were pulling together from a few different papers, none of which made complete sense to me, and in the end the eye glasses I got from here, though the frames themselves were reasonable due to my insurance plan, were the most expensive glasses I've purchased, even with insurance. The bad part is that I truly have no idea if I've been overcharged due to all the different papers and various prices written everywhere that they were pulling together. When I presented the coupon / offer I'd received in the mail, the guy who was putting together all the charges and ringing me up said "Put that away, you don't need it". OK, then why did you mail it to me?? It should be noted that I never got a call or text to tell me my glasses were ready. Finally after a month of waiting, I showed up and after looking at their computer with a very confused look for several minutes, they told me they had them. They had no idea why I hadn't been notified, nor did they seem to care. I will gladly return here to see Dr. Jorge Garcia as he was great. That said, once he gives me the prescription (if it changes during future visits to him), I'll most definitely comparison shop for the actual glasses elsewhere. read more

When I used to live in Miami I had my care here and always received good care. Now that I was just coming on a short trip and had a little emergency with my contacts she literally saved me! The optician does not meet the promised dates for the delivery of the glasses, which are prescription glasses that people need. In my case, my son needed them for school. Additionally, they charge the entire bill in advance and do not offer the service. The money remains in Visionworks' account and not its clients'. I do not recommend it. read more

Dr. Jorge Garcia, James, Jaima, and the entire team at the Visionworks Miracle Marketplace location provide exceptional professional service! I highly recommend them! I've been using their services for several years now and would rate them at consistent 5! However, I cannot say the same for the new Visionworks laboratory services. Visionworks closed the local labs and has centralized lab work in Texas, which has resulted in: 1) longer wait times to receive prescription glasses (up to 14 days). 2) its inability to fill high index prescriptions correctly. It is either not producing/cutting the lens incorrectly or it is using cheap materials. In fact, they are not even offering the latest 1.74 high index lenses. This will be Visionworks Texas Lab's third attempt at getting my glasses cut correctly. This had not been a problem when the lab was based locally. I use progressives and the middle to upper quadrant are supposed to be for distance, yet both glasses received have resulted in blurry long-distance vision and only clear from the lower quadrant, which is intended for short-distance reading! If Visionworks continues to centralize eye lab services, it will continue to diminish its reliability, quality, and lose eyeglass business! read more

I've been seeing Jorge Garcia for over 2 years now, and from someone that has been wearing glasses for about 25 years now, he is one of the optometrist I've ever had. He truly wants the best for you, is a perfectionist, and will not settle for just ok. He fit me for contact lenses as well, which is not an easy task when you have the prescription I have. After speaking about my contact lens habits, he recommended I use daily ones instead of monthly to prevent a possible eye infection. The daily trials at first were not going well as I could not see, and he special ordered the trials again with an adjustment in their orientation which was like light and day for me. The staff inside is great. They look out for you and make sure you are in tune with the specials they have to provide the best service. read more

Writing this review as a thoroughly disappointed customer. My mother bought two pair of eyeglasses from VisionWorks about three months ago from this location. In less than three months one of her glasses fell apart. My mother who is in her 60s walked into the store trying to find an alternative pair of eyeglasses or a potential solution that the team at this location could provide. The manager who was indifferent and completely apathetic about the situation disregarded my mom's glasses and advised one of the employees to do the same. Instead of providing a tangible solution, they deceived her and said that they would order another pair for my mom without providing her with a receipt or a confirmation number. I understand that perhaps a fee was required to order another pair, but that information was not disclosed with my mom. There was a lack of communication, care, and professionalism on behalf of the leadership team and the staff. Truly disappointed because this makes me believe that there is a certain level of discrimination toward elders and senior citizens amongst this store. Why did the manager and employee dismiss satisfactory customer service? Confirming that this will be the last time that any of our friends and/or family members purchase from VisionWorks. read more

Still a 5 stars! Right when i thought i couldn't top the first experience, they do! We went for a readjustment on a pair of glasses and ultimately the floor manager with her assistance got the real answer from us... were completely "new" to glasses and ultimately ordered the wrong pair. With her and her entire team assisting us with education, sliding issues on the bridge of the nose tricks to improve, and aesthetically pleasing alternate frames, she really helped us find a pair more to my wife's face, and instilled the right confidence that we made the right decision to switch them. She allowed us to swap them out, 100%. I felt bad about the swap but she reassured me they want their customers in the right stuff feeling great about their customer experience and purchase. While my insurance really footed the bill here for me, it made me think people can choose to just do their job or really EFFECT people with their job. This place, Dr. Garcia, the floor manager and all of her team BIG WARM THANKYOU! People at this location really create experiences that effect customer experience. Highly positive here! Dr. Garcia & his staff have always been on top of their game during each of my 3-4 visits to this Visionworks location. I'm always greeted upon walking in and each staff member whether working the storefront or exam area has been great and accommodating. Dr. Garcia is especially great. He took the time to listen to my issues, and was able to prescribe me the perfect pair of contacts. Dissappointed by the very confusing logistics behind VisionWorks policies and how they're enacted. I called during the morning to get my lens prescription emailed as I needed to get lenses ordered asap prior to a trip. I was told that VisionWorks doesn't provide prescriptions by email, only fax (who uses fax?) or in person. I leave work earlier than usual to pick up my prescription, and as I take a look prior to leaving I noticed it's blank. After they verify, they note that the prescription was blank because the optometrist had not yet given the 'ok' on the prescription, and that I could call the next day to get the prescription. Even though I could confirm right there I had no issues, they still couldn't release the prescription as per VisionWorks policy as the optometrist had to do it (never had the same problem with Lenscrafters or other optometry shops). No problem with the staff though, they were nice, just dissappointed with VisionWorks bureaucracy. read more
