A handwritten sign was posted next to the window with the day's special - Pulled Pork Sandwich with choice of Fries or Onion Rings, and a drink for only $12.00, including tax! Yesss! I'll have that! It was awesome, much better than I expected. There was a generous amount of meat piled into a fresh bun, along with some coleslaw and BBQ sauce. It ended up being a bit messy but absolutely delicious! This was a great tasting sandwich with very good texture! The crispy Onion Rings were also quite excellent and not greasy at all. Due to COVID restrictions, there was no seating available but they do have a covered area and a couple of oversized picnic tables. They'll also be adding a portable toilet on-site shortly. Yes, I did say portable toilet. This place is, after all, built from what appears to be a portable trailer. I will definitely be back to try that burger, and other things from their menu!

This restaurant has received wildly varying reviews, and finally I needed to judge for myself. I boldly ordered a 16 piece fried chicken family dinner, with fries, onion rings and mac and cheese as our sides. I phoned the order in, just to ask a few questions before ordering. The meal was ready in about 25 minutes, as promised. The staff who helped me and took my order was friendly, informative and kind. He was also honest. He steered me away from the mashed potatoes that I was considering, telling me, "They aren't the real thing." When I asked more, he continued to explain that they are a dehydrated, just-add-water type situation. So I quickly nixed those, and went with the mac and cheese instead. Knowing that it was my first visit, he threw in a bottle of ginger ale for free!! The meal itself was delicious and satisfying, with a few misses, as follows: Chicken - 5/5: it was so flavorful and juicy, with a substantial yet delicately crisp coating Masala Fries - 5/5. Crispy and mildly spiced . Onion Rings - 5/5. These were among the best my family and I have had. Biscuits - 2/5. Sorry to say, the biscuits were disappointing , with a cake-like, rather than flaky, crumb and bland flavor. Chicken Kitchen, please get a new biscuit provider! However, it's not worth taking off a star when the rest of the meal was on point. Chicken Kitchen, Bravo!! I'll be back,! If you are in the Pickering area, the Chicken Kitchen, modestly located in a humble little local mall, is worth considering. Parking is plentiful.

The employee who was taking orders and preparing the food had very long, dirty fingernails. Since he was handling both customers and food, it didn't seem hygienic and honestly made me feel uncomfortable. I wanted to mention it to him at the time, but the restaurant was very busy with many customers waiting for their orders, and I didn't want to embarrass him in front of everyone. Food hygiene should be one of the highest priorities for any restaurant. I hope the management addresses this issue and ensures that all staff maintain proper personal hygiene, including keeping their nails short and clean, for the safety and confidence of customers.

I pulled out my Harvey's app and found an angus burger combo for $9.99 before taxes. Perfect! I ordered these items: - Angus burger - Onion rings - Large Diet Pepsi - Apple pie I got an estimated time that my order would be ready to pick up. I took my time getting to this restaurant. This eatery looked fairly new. It's located in a small plaza with a lot of construction. There was a danger sign warning folks about open excavation. It was not your typical sign! I hit the drive-thru. When I got to the order area, I indicated that I had an order and rattled off my name. The woman found my order and said that I could drive up to the window. There was one vehicle ahead of me. When I got to the window, a friendly woman who talked quickly said hi. She grabbed my drink and paper bag with my food. She wished me a great day. I reciprocated and drove away slowly. I ended up parking briefly to put my food in an insulated bag. I then drove home. I had dinner once I was home. This meal was perfect. I loved my angus burger. It was flavourful and juicy. I liked customizing my toppings. Garlic mayo is a must. I customized mine with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and relish. I was happy. My onion rings were so good. They were crispy and the onions were naturally sweet. I upgraded my drink to a large Diet Pepsi. I needed it to wash everything down, including my crispy apple pie. The filling was so good. The drink was crispy, cold, and perfect. Ordering through the Harvey's app does have its advantages. My Scene+ card is a part of my profile, so I'm always collecting points when I made a purchase. I also had a gift card as part of my payment method. I used it to pay for my meal, which felt like I had won the jackpot. I had an excellent experience at this Harvey's. I'd return for more good eats and drinks when I'm in the area again. (171)
