Accurate by look - Accurate by feel - Accurate by taste. Nice staff. Great downtown location. Cakes. Panini. Pastries. Gelati. The Baba Al Rum is a fam fav. Tricolore are lovely. Castagnole. Limoncelli Siciliani. The Conetti Gelato. I lay back on the patio set chair. I sniff the air. It smells like my grandmothers cutlets. She's yelling at me in dialect. I pretend to understand her and shout "basta." I fake smoke a non-existent beautifully crafted cigar. Gel in my hair - slicked back to he best of my ability. The ability is low, it looks awful. Sunglasses, but the clouds overrun the sky. My chain hangs low, it's too big I refuse to get it resized. I'm licking a pistachio conetto gelato. I've got L'Arte cookies in both hands. So do my family members. It's somebodies birthday. Somewhere. It's an excuse to get together. Where am I? I'm home. That's life. That's Art. L'Arte is number 1. A little more challenging to follow up with by phone, but once I got final confirmation by text and by email, it was great to have them! A HUGE assortment of options, even during the off-season (November). This is a great alternative without having to commit to a minimum number of people and cost.

While our first experience was positive (tasty and had even given us a charitable discount), this year was incredibly disappointing. We booked the truck for 1.5 hours to support a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Due to lower-than-anticipated turnout, attendees stopped purchasing ice cream around the 45-minute mark. Despite us having booked the truck for the full 1.5 hours, the operator decided to leave early on his own accord without asking our input on it. When it came time to settle the payment, we had to pull funds directly from our charity collections to pay the full booking fee (which is fine except communication with this company grew increasingly difficult and we only had a check for the full time amount not knowing if his charity event fee would be lower then the listed price). We asked if we could pay at a later date since we were only at the half time mark, but the operator insisted on being paid immediately, telling us that he would 'remember' to give us a break next time. The day after the event, we reached out to see if he would honor that 'break' by applying the 45 minutes he didn't work toward a future Teacher Appreciation Luncheon (where he would still be making money from individual sales). He refused, insisting that because we booked two time blocks, we must pay for both, even though he chose to leave our event early. It is disheartening to see a vendor take funds directly out of a charity's pocket and then refuse to honor their word regarding a future credit. We will not be using this service again.

Sangria's has been a go-to for us for years for good tapas and sangria, but we've now had issues on…read moreour last two visits, and this most recent one was especially frustrating. The food is still great. We had scallops, chorizo, brussels sprouts, and a flounder ceviche special. Everything was delicious. The ceviche in particular stood out -- fresh, well-portioned, and nicely "cooked" in lime juice. The sangria is still a highlight too. A big carafe, no ice watering it down, served with glasses full of fruit. The problem is the service. They had two servers and one bus person, and it showed. Everyone seemed to be scrambling, and it was hard to get a moment of attention to ask for anything or even be heard. Our food came out in pieces -- three items, then a long delay, then another. The last dish, calamari, never came. When I tried to tell the waiter we didn't want it anymore if it was forgotten, he didn't listen and insisted on bringing it anyway. We ended up waiting even longer, which just made the experience more frustrating. To top it off, they're now adding an operating/service fee (around 3-4%), which wasn't clearly communicated and just showed up on the bill. It's disappointing because the food is still very good, but the service issues -- and now the added fees -- are taking away from the experience. After this visit, we'll think twice before coming back.
