When I reviewed the completed order I noticed my mistake and had to go back and order another with the shipping cost as well. Puzzles, puzzle glue (for 2-1,000 piece puzzles, seriously?!), real dart boards, and knives of all kinds. From hunting knives and Swiss Army utility knives to Wusthofs, if you can think of a particular blade, they probably have it, or something similar to it. A little bit of fun, and a -whole- lotta business. The staff seems friendly, greeting me as I wandered around the store ogling the pretty shiny sharp implements. As a first time knife buyer, I was very pleasant with my experience at this well known establishment in downtown Frederick on a busy Saturday afternoon. All staff members wore masks and greeted us as we walked through their doors. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the young gentleman who helped us or I would have put his name behind this stellar experience. He was a long haired fellow who answered all my questions with patience and was very personable. He also had some insider and insightful knowledge on some knives that helped me make my final decision. I was very happy with my purchase and with the customer service experience at this establishment. Edgeworks really let me down last week. I have shopped in Edgeworks with my husband many times and alone once or twice. I went in with a female friend to purchase a stocking stuffer for my husband. We were inside of the store for over 12 minutes and weren't even approached or addressed. Meanwhile TWO employees continued banter with one male. I hate to think that it was because we were females but there wasn't much other explanation. read more

I have never been treated as rudely by someone in a position to sell me something as I was in this store. The man who "helped" me was unkind, demeaning, and just plain rude when I wanted to look at some knives. There's a lot of cool stuff to be had in this store and I was ready to make a major purchase but none of this stuff do I want badly enough to give these people my money. I'm pretty hard to offend, but this was astounding. It almost soured my entire shopping experience in the Charming downtown area. Very happy with my purchases (an Esse 6 and Mora companion), and despite being there during popular business hours, I felt very taken care of and given advice help me solely to help me find the best fit. My one complaint is how the staff addressed my confusion with addressing Maryland's knife law; leaving my girlfriend to believe I was belittled, and leaving me with an unclear picture on pertinent information. From further investigation, I found out no matter the style, a fixed blade knife could almost always be considered a Bowie knife in MD; including the 4" Mora I just purchased specifically for my car. Personally I think this is information is relevant and I feel a knife store should be more responsible passing on when asked, which is the sole reason why I knocked off a star. read more

Surprisingly large store that sells puzzels, knives, and darts. Confused by this combo of merch? Yeah me too! But the staff were super friendly and spent nearly 30 minutes talking to my father in law about various pocket knives (he loves them). I don't usually go into knife stores but when I do I come here. This place has a variety of knives along with puzzles ( I am puzzled to how this fits). The staff seems to know their material as the other day the one attendant was ranting and raving about knife nerdiness that was over my head. I enjoyed walking around the place and just seeing the quality of knives. Their puzzles are also pretty cool. If you are walking by then I would recommend walking in even if you aren't planning to buy a knife. A good place to educate yourself on what a sharp and good knife looks like. read more

Good selection of knives, no doubt about it. I was conflicted about this review because there is nothing wrong with the product they sell, it's all top quality merchandise. The young man that helped us there was really very, very nice. The problem was the older staff member (owner?)who was there that day was constantly interrupting us to have him take care of other customers. We were interrupted no less than three times by instructions ring up other sales - while we waited for him to finish so that we could resume with our sale which was around $200 by the time we left. They also berated him in front of us about a minor mistake he had made with another customer! Sorry, but I just don't like that kind of thing. Yeah, so love the product but didn't like the way the staff were treated in front of customers. read more

As I have struggled to find a sharpener for my straight razor in Northern Virginia, I decided to try this place out despite the 50 minute drive. For only ten bucks they sharpened my straight razor better than when I purchased it. No drag, perfect edge, like cutting warm butter with a samurai sword. Best shave I have had in years! I will make the annual hour trek to Frederick just to have them sharpen my straight razor! read more

Stopped in the Edgeworks tonight while waiting for a table for dinner. The clerk was RUDE off the charts. I had bought at this store during a similar situation on a prior occasion. Felt the prices were a tad high then but expected when buying locally. Tonight, I asked to see a particular Benchmade knife and the clerk starts railing on about going to prison - quite bizarre. Left my date and I wondering what his issues were. I guess this is why we have the internet. read more

One would think that with 5-6 employees standing behind the counters, and no other customers in the store beside my brother and myself, you'd at least get a "hello" or a "can I help you with anything," but sadly, that wasn't the case; typically a reflection of the ownership is poor customer servants. The staff is very helpful and their selection is amazing. As stated in an earlier review there are hunting knives, kitchen knives but also some pieces that must be for collectors only. They showed me one made by the Randall Company in Florida which if I was to order directly would involve a 5 year wait. Fun place just to come in and take a look and ask questions. read more

My wife and I made a special trip to this shop from Baltimore, and we couldn't have walked away happier. The owner and his sister were extremely helpful and attentive to our needs.
