Plant - Creme Brule ! How does one make a vegan cream?!? I don't know but it was good.

Every dish was a masterpiece, bold and elegant, comforting and exciting all at once. This is vegan food that doesn't whisper or apologize--it commands the room. The flavors were layered, intentional, and downright magical. Each plate arrived like a work of art, and somehow tasted even better than it looked. I kept thinking, there is no way the next dish can top this--and yet, it always did. Plant proves, without question, that vegan cuisine can be indulgent, luxurious, and unforgettable. And then... the dessert. I am not exaggerating when I say it deserves its own standing ovation. Rich, decadent, perfectly balanced--one bite and time stopped. If happiness had a flavor, this would be it. I would return to Plant for dessert alone, without a second thought. Plant is hands-down the best vegan restaurant in Asheville. It's passion, creativity, and excellence on a plate. If you haven't eaten here yet, you're missing out on something truly special. This is the kind of place that ruins other restaurants for you--in the best possible way.

I'm not vegan but I can appreciate making plant-based food the highlight of a meal. Plant has created a multi-flavor, multi-cultural menu which has you surprised to what's to come next. Each bite has a unique depth of flavor. Some vegan foods that I've tried has a tendency to be over salted or seasoned or just hides behind some type of soy-based protein for texture and to try to be something it's not. I can happily say plant has dodged this with ease We got the Cauliflower, Roasted Beets, Broccolini (seasonal, not pictured sorry), Cheese Board (not pictured ... sorry again), and The Curry.Honestly have fun with the menu, there was nothing that missed. I would say most definitely get the Cheese Board. It came with a unique set of cheeses with different flavors and textures. How do you age a cashew cheese?!?! It came with a nice assortment of pickled veggies, fruits, gluten free bed, and olives. Nice and big too If you couldn't already, I loved my experience here. Perfect ambiance for a date night too! So bring someone special (you and yourself most definitely count too)

We arrived during a staff meeting concluding and fortunately we were welcomed in. I ordered the Harmony Bowl, while SCW got the Rueben. I ordered a local pilsner while we waited and enjoyed it. Our order came out about 10 minutes after and we were on our way. I was struck by the weight of our take out. Only a few items but yeah, it was heavy. I really enjoyed the Harmony bowl. So much fresh veggies, great tempeh, and yes the veggies! Really good, not salty, not soaked in oil. Really, really good. SCW oradered the Rueben. Really good as well. Great vegan rueben that wasn't soaked in oil. Laughing seed was awesome. The people were great and so welcoming. Give Laughing Seed Cafe a chance. I'm sure you'll enoy it.

I had a side of steamed broccoli and kale with my indulgent sandwich. The greens were cooked perfectly, which I know sounds simple, but I so often get served limp greens that've lost their color. Now on to the sandwich... Omg. The flavors and textures were so good. I loved how crispy and crunchy the chickn was. The onion jam gave the perfect sweet balance, and the aioli tang rounded everything out. I would absolutely come back. Thank you for a great introduction to Asheville!

I also loved that they carry cool locally made items. I went with the chicken biscuit with gravy and the French toast. The biscuit was square-shaped and generously sized, and it was delicious, though the gravy was not quite my thing. The French toast was a winner, not too sweet and topped with fresh fruit, which was a lovely touch. The latte deserves a special shoutout because it was fabulous. Service was relatively fast, and I also appreciated the large community table. It is perfect for chatting with friends or even striking up a conversation with strangers. Customers bus their own tables. The bathrooms were clean, and parking was easy. I am already planning my next visit to try more menu items, especially the chilaquiles. Highly recommend!

As for food, I cannot recommend the matchstick okra fries enough. Even if you don't like okra, please give them a try. As someone who doesn't like okra normally, we were convinced by our waiter to give them a try and I am so glad that we did. So crispy and salty, just a wonderful way to start the evening. Highly recommend the chaat as well, full of flavor and a refreshing start before the main dishes arrived. They all sounded good, so really a personal preference on which to go with. For the main dish we opted for both Thali's, butter chicken and the saag paneer. Both were delicious and full of flavor, again I don't think you could wrong since you get a little of everything on your platter. Our service was phenomenal as well! Our waiter walked us through the menu, gave us recommendations, and was very attentive. Food came out super quick as well so all around 10/10. I will now be waiting ever so impatiently for our next visit to Asheville so that we can give more of the menu a try!!

My fiancé took me here for my birthday, and I felt celebrated every step of the way. Our server Laura brought us a complimentary small bite before the meal and after dessert. She also made dessert super special and was kind and attentive the whole meal! The food was all phenomenal, I couldn't believe it was all gluten free. It felt very fresh due to the farm to table nature of the restaraunt. We started with the cheddar biscuits, which were a hit. My short rib with polenta and roast veggies was delectable and a very generous portion! Finally, we ordered 1 dessert but they brought us a trio. I was wowed by the cheesecake and olive oil cake! Would definitely return for date night or any other special occasion!

I was in communication with Lindsay for over four months while exploring options for hosting my wedding dinner in their private dining space. Out of more than 10 venues and vendors we considered, she was the only one who consistently showed up with prompt, thoughtful, and genuinely kind communication. Every question I had--no matter how detailed or repetitive--was answered with patience and care. She made herself available through all my moments of uncertainty, which, as any out-of-state bride can attest, is invaluable. When we finally visited in person, Lindsay went above and beyond by accommodating us outside of regular scheduling. Her attentiveness and warmth never wavered. Planning a wedding from afar can feel overwhelming, but having someone like her in your corner brings a level of reassurance that cannot be overstated. Dinner itself was nothing short of exceptional. We were served by Tennille, who elevated the entire experience. She was engaging, knowledgeable, and incredibly personable. Every dish was presented with intention, and she took the time to walk us through ingredients , local farm sourced education and preparation in a way that made the meal feel curated and special. You can tell she genuinely cares about the guest experience--it shows in every interaction. After dinner, we visited their second location to explore their private dining options. There, we met Pierre, who matched the same level of service and hospitality. He went out of his way to not only show us the space, but also recommend local after-dinner spots that could enhance the overall experience for our bridal party. That level of thoughtfulness and big-picture thinking is rare. Bottom line: this team understands that they're not just serving food--they're creating experiences. If you're looking for a venue that delivers on service, communication, and unforgettable dining, this is it.
