It's located on H street so there's limited street parking but I lucked up and found a spot right outside of the salon. Upon entry, we were greeted right away with a smile. Our stylist was Sophia and she was finishing up with a client. A few minutes later, we were greeted by the stylist and lead upstairs. She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. She made my daughter's first haircut memorable and she loves the finished product. The process was amazing but it was a bit pricey. Eden Salon's Unethical Practices! #Bait & Switch Pricing ! #Violation of D.C. Code § 28-3904! Eden Salon relies on misleading online prices to trap customers at the register. On 8/21/26 my daughter, a struggling college student on a strict budget, booked an appointment at Eden for a "Color and Blow-Dry with Flatiron" package for $275 posted on their website. Given that the website did list a price range (like most salons) my daughter expected to pay the posted website price of $275.00, or be informed of additional charges before services would be rendered. However, at checkout, her stylist Jasmine charged her an astronomical $416.00 total. The salon tacked on an entirely separate, unapproved $120.00 line item simply labeled "Color"--completely duplicating the service that was already supposed to be covered in the package priced at $275. 3-important points: At no point during my daughter's visit did Jasmine - provide a color consultation, - warn her of extra costs, or - ask for her consent regarding an upcharge. When we contacted management to voice our frustration about these hidden fees, they offered zero resolution, zero refund, and absolutely no remorse. The audacity of Eden Salon to think that they can up-charge any customer $120/let alone a young struggling college student without informing the customer beforehand is unbelievable. Under District of Columbia law (D.C. Code § 28-3904), it is an unlawful trade practice to misrepresent prices or pass off hidden costs after services are rendered. If you have fine 3B curls, I would be very cautious about booking with Sabrina Elyse. I went in for a color and a trim, but she convinced me to let her "give my hair some dimension." Instead, she heavily debulked my already fine hair and cut off several inches that I never asked to lose. I remember her turning me toward the mirror at the end of the appointment and instantly bursting into tears. I was devastated. My hair looked dry, uneven, and nothing like I had just left a salon. I was then ushered to the register and charged full price. Looking back, I still can't believe a stylist would let a client leave with their hair looking the way mine did. The photos speak for themselves: my hair was fuller and healthier before the appointment, and afterward I lost a significant amount of density and shape. I literally couldn't look in the mirror without crying for months. It has taken me a long time to regrow and recover from this haircut. I'm not writing this because I dislike Sabrina personally or because I'm seeking a refund. I'm writing it because I don't want someone else with fine curls to have the same experience I did (especially after spending over $200). The first picture is what I asked for, the middle picture is what this salon did. The last picture in the trio was done one day later to fix this by a salon in Eastern Market (Michael Anthony). This salon doesn't know how to do 4a-4c hair. If a stylist is unable to complete a client's hair request, either due to their client's hair texture or their own lack of hair expertise with their hair type, it is the stylist's responsibility to say that. I showed my stylist a deva curl esque hairstyle with shaved hair by my ears. The hair style that I received was a botched frohawk. I can't even get braids to save my appearance. She kept insisting that my hair just needed to dry but after blowdrying it looked like a jheri curl. I complained to the front desk at the salon and asked for a partial refund, as my stylist was pleasant though didn't fulfill my request, and I am still waiting for a call back from the salon owner more than 24 hours later. I called this morning and the front desk said that they are still waiting for the owner - even though she said she'd call me first thing in the morning. It is now 5pm and still nothing. I decided to do something big for my birthday and you know what that means in "woman code"....I decided to cut my hair. But I didn't want to get a shaped deva cut....I wanted a big chop. So I cut my shoulder length hair to a tapered cut. I loved my experience at Eden DC Salon. I didn't have to wait at all for my appointment. I was seated right away. It is a small and quaint shop that is two stories tall. The bottom level is where they style and wash your hair, and the upper level is where they dry your hair. With this hair style, OMG my wash day went from 4 hours including wash and dry time to about 40 minutes total. If it wasn't for the endless pursuit of long hair that all women seem to conditioned to want, I might be convinced to keep it this short. Jasmine was my stylist and she was super sweet and explained every step of the process to me. She even comforted me when I think she saw how surprised I was to see so much hair was being cut off. She showed me the products that she used and let me know that they sold them there too. I hate buying salon products just because the retailer price is so outrageous, and this time is no different LOL, but the products WORK. It really is that simple, they work well and my hair is moisturized and not crunchy after using them. I bought all the products, and even the shower brush/comb they used. It felt so good and helped my curls pop. The bathroom was a good size and clean, the one I used was on the second level. I didn't check to see if there was one on the first level. Parking is street parking which is standard for DC. I think there may have been garages nearby but street parking made the most sense for me. I love my haircut and I feel much better having trusted Jasmine with my haircut. She did a great job and I've gotten nothing but compliments. read more

I was a regular customer, but I feel compelled to share a recent disappointing experience which made my last visit my final visit to this salon. I went in for a curly cut, and I explicitly stated that I wanted to keep the length and that I did not want botched and choppy layers. Lo and behold, this is exactly what I got! My hair is shoulder length with my length completely compromised. She cut the thickest/longest parts of my hair into a single, choppy layer with frazzled ends. I don't even want to look at myself in the mirror; I am so heartbroken and depressed by this awful haircut!! When I informed Eden of my dissatisfaction she said she just did what I showed her (see pictures) and that she only cut this much (which was much more than we agreed). She assured me that when I styled it, I would see the difference...and I've included a picture of the self styled look which reveals an artless cut and the absence of my beloved strands. I just had my first child this past February, and my hair had been shedding a lot and it's been difficult to manage. My wash days went from 4 hours on Sunday, to 8 hours spread across the entire weekend! I had been growing my natural hair for nearly 10 years. But I needed a change and knew I needed to come back home to get it done. Eden and her team were super understanding and gentle with me. I came in with half detangled, half knotted up hair (those of you who are mamas know!) and was scared they were going to charge me extra, but Eden assured me it was fine and I wasn't charged. The woman who washed my hair was gentle as she detangled, checking in with me to make sure she wasn't hurting me. She did a way better job than what I could do at home! Eden gave me a beautiful tapered haircut and gave me some tips on how to simplify my hair routine. We also talked about motherhood, and she made me feel right at home in her chair. I finally visited Eden since moving to DC and I must say that it was a great experience. Eden DC Salon makes it very easy to schedule an appointment even far out in advance and you can make any necessary changes to that appointment on your own. I had an appointment at 8am (which was great to squeeze in during the work week). I was a bit afraid to park at the meters because they had a 2-hour limit and I have been in some salons for way over 3 hours. However, I was out of Eden's in a little less than 2 hours (IMPRESSIVE). Let me say that the person that washed my hair had blessed hands. That wash felt like a therapeutic head massage, it was pretty amazing. I really liked how Eden explained everything that she was doing and the current state of my hair (because I do not have a clue). My hair is thin and, usually after a day or two, my hair looks so flat/lifeless because it was straightened too much; however, Eden did such a great job of straightening where it still looked silky but not too straight so that it had volume and did not look flat. I absolutely loved my hair and I look forward to seeing Eden again. read more

I really debated leaving this review because I don't like to be negative about people or my experiences, but I honestly just need to warn anyone who might book here to read through more reviews and think about going elsewhere. I made the mistake of not reading Yelp reviews, and went to this salon because it was recommended on Reddit. I see someone else left a bad review for the same stylist that did my cut and color. So I just have to add to the warning about Jasmine. The one thing I will say positively about her is that after she messed up my color and saw that I was clearly upset, she put in the effort to call her boss for some guidance, add in more highlights, involve me in picking out the highlight color shade from the book, and I ended up leaving 7 hours later with my hair not being a total disaster. But she just really lacked the skills to be doing my hair in the first place, and I will never go back to her or that salon. The owner should know better as well, she should have never been allowed to do color on people's hair. I had not touched my hair for two years, and got it done for an upcoming vacation. I went in for honey blonde balayage and to give my hair some shape, explicitly stating that I did not want a lot of hair cut off, to which the stylist agreed. She started off snipping only a little bit. Unfortunately when she did my color it turned out horrible, I was so upset that I didn't notice how much hair she ultimately ended up chopping off. You know how long curly hair takes to grow, and she cut off several inches. My hair was past my shoulders before and now its above my shoulders. The stylist put a few highlights in my hair, and called that balayage. Truly disgraceful to be charging $450 dollars for. I had red at the ends of my hair and she said she would try to blend it. My highlights turned out grey/highlighter yellow with red remaining at the ends, I told her it looked horrible and she tried to tell me that the color would "settle" over a few weeks, and that she warned me about not being to get all of the red out. It was gaslighting, and I let her know that it was not the first time I had gotten my hair colored before and that it would not "settle" into something completely different. At the end of the day the toner color she put in was all wrong, she tried to address the red color not realizing how it would make the highlights turn out. She just did not have the proper training or skills to color my hair. She ultimately added in more highlights and got her boss to help her pick the right toner / with technique, but the highlights were not naturally blended in the way that balayage should be. There are big chunks of bleached hair that are randomly thrown in my hair now... Then the hair cut... after she finished the highlights she really WENT IN on cutting my hair and again cut off way more than I had asked. Again, just don't do it to yourself. I really and truly regret going to that salon and would warn anyone else to just look elsewhere!!! read more

She really takes her time and makes me feel like I'm a priority while I'm in her chair. She also makes great recommendations based on the texture of my hair. After lots of research, I found Eden DC Salon and they did not disappoint. Erica was my stylist and she was absolutely incredible. She was very knowledge and took great care of me while I was there. The care and professionalism by the staff is great! Each time I've arrived, Erica was waiting for me by the door. I didn't have to complete for time with other clients. I was the only person Erica was working with during our time block. I absolutely have loved my experience here. They use high quality products and tools to achieve all kinds of styles. I found Eden DC Salon through several reviews I read on Yelp but the one review that stood out to me the most, and was the deciding factor in where I was going to get my hair done, was from a woman who had recently done the big chop. she had gone to Jasmine who gave her a phenomenal tapered cut. So I was very excited to book my appointment with Jasmine. I had just combed out my locs after 22 years. I explain the situation to Jasmine. I wanted a tapered cut. After sitting in her chair, I shared several varied pictures of the tapered style cut I wanted. My natural hair, going in, was probably 6 to 8 inches in length. I was getting a dry curly cut. Jasmine explained that because of the look I wanted, she would have to go high as opposed to going out for the tapered look because I only had about 8" of length on the top. I was fine with that approach so she started cutting while dry and then she washed my hair and then said that she would trim a little more after the wash based on how the curls were falling. As she was doing this second cut on the front sides of my head, I realize that the left side was cut visibly shorter above my ear than the right side. I pointed this out to her, she said that curls are unpredictable and she didn't want to take anymore off. I agreed to not cut anymore, but it was significantly shorter on the left side than on the right side. She styled my hair with products and had me sit under the dryer for maybe 20/30 mins and then sat me at her chair again as she finished up. As soon as I looked in the mirror, I felt my heart sink. This was not the tapered cut that I had in mind. This was not any of the tapered cuts that I showed her in the numerous pictures when I initially sat in her chair. What Jasmine gave me was not a tapered cut, it was a carrot top. She may have noticed my expression and again explained that curls are unpredictable. That this is the natural state of my hair. I understood all that, but reality is, it was cut too short. I didn't say much but I did not like at all how I looked, how I felt, or my overall experience cutting and styling my hair with Jasmine. I was initially extremely excited about this new journey of unloc'd natural hair and Jasmine ruined it hat excitement for me. It has been three days since my big chop and I am having a really hard time adjusting to the hair in the reflection when I look in the mirror. I know it is hair. I know it will grow back but what I also know is that I will never go back to Eden DC Salon or get styled by Jasmine. I will say that the atmosphere was nice and they offer tea/coffee/water on arrival, but the day of my appointment, they were delayed in opening and I waited over 30 minutes to to be seen. read more

Finally! I found a salon in DC that gave me the haircut I wanted. I have been looking for a salon to give me a decent cut so I could start wearing it curly again. I tried a few places in DC and Virginia and they were okay but I wasn't thrilled, so I kept looking and made an appointment at Eden salon. I had an appointment with Eden herself and she delivered on both the cut and the styling. She was on time and was managing another client's hair color without losing focus on my service. I also like the products they used in salon...I could see she used products she liked (not a single line of products). Highly recommend! The only two things I would mention that didn't change my thoughts on going back but are worth sharing...H street is unpredictable and someone will probably walk up to you or yell something at you; and I had to walk up a flight of stairs for my cut. I'm not sure if they can accommodate people on the first floor but if you can't get upstairs for any reason, you should definitely call and ask. read more

The first time I went I got a relaxer/texturizer by hairstylist Shanel. I kept my hair curly and walked out looking fabulous (sorry no pics, but trust me). The second and third time at Eden DC Salon, hairstylist Briana did my hair (2nd visit hair straightened and cut, 3rd visit hair straightened and colored). I went blond for the first time and I think it looks amazing, and the best part is my hair is still very healthy.  I receive compliments all the time. My experience felt rushed and not inviting. I got a Women's Hair cut Styling with Flat Iron/ Silk Press. (View attached photos to see the final product). I can straighten my hair way better than this. My trust was broken because I felt like the stylist was lying about my hair and saying it won't last. Sabrina, is just an amazing hair stylist. I visited Sabrina back in April for a color correction, and let me tell you it was the best decision I've made! I started using black box hair dye for about 4-6 months, Sabrina came in and got me feeling amazing with my hair.
