Their studio had moved about two blocks down the street, but I still had the wrong address (completely on me). She made sure I knew how to get to the new location and even which side of the building to park on. Even though we started late, she was still able to perform my full one hour massage. I was extremely relaxed the entire time. The music was gorgeous and had me picturing beautiful nature scenes. I had to fight the urge to fall asleep a few times. I left feeling calm and serene. I felt more limber. The back and hip pain I had before going was gone. I would absolutely go back. The service was completely unskilled: rushed, inconsistent, lacking rhythm, and missing the foundational techniques that define a competent, professional massage therapist. A skilled therapist uses intentional pressure, consistent/proper flow, and an understanding of muscle anatomy to create a therapeutic and cohesive experience none of which were present. Realizing the session was doing more harm than good, I made the decision to end it and leave. The front desk staff clearly knew something had gone wrong, as my early departure was obviously due to dissatisfaction. Yet I was still charged $139. Not only is that unreasonable, but deeply unprofessional. When I called for clarification, I was met with a scripted cancellation-policy explanation given by the same employee who witnessed me ending the service early and leaving the studio upset. Only after pressing for details was I told I'd need to speak with a manager. The entire interaction was dismissive, confusing, and frankly, insulting.
