He showed up on Friday at my house and promised to install tiles on coming Wed. On Wed, he said he wouldn't able to come but would make it on Thursday. On Thursday he said again he couldn't come but would "definitely" come on Friday. On Friday he still didn't come. It's a new construction and the delay had caused economic damages. I threatened to sue him - then he revealed his evil part further. He said we didn't have a written contract! So I had to deal with the delays, the stress and additional cost to get someone else to complete the work. When I prepare lawsuit documents, I discovered his license was suspended although the license number is still on his website. https://www.cslb.ca.gov/OnlineServices/CheckLicenseII/LicenseDetail.aspx?LicNum=840140 I hope this would give a heads-up to someone who is thinking about hiring him.

Months later, I noticed that some grout was cracking on the bathtub/shower surround. This wasn't his job; that fired contractor had remodeled the bathroom, and I wasn't going to call THAT guy. I called Glen this morning and he was out here this afternoon to fix the problem. His rates are more than reasonable, his expertise is reassuring, and his work is excellent.

After a morning of calling around to numerous tile shops, I connected with Michelle at TileNCounters. Michelle was more helpful than all the other places combined, even though she knew this would be a very small order. I came in, looked over samples, she called the distributors for time estimates, and we ordered the perfect tile from the perfect tile shop. Prices very reasonable. Wish we'd started here first! This is Mom & Pop store with a wide selection. I always like to promote the Mom & Pop stores-- so here's 5 stars to Michelle at TileNCounters!

They helped me with updating my home floors and bathroom tiles - and that was the best decision I could make. I wish I would have taken Jon's advice on going a lighter color for my bathroom grout...but I'm still happy with the end result. I'd definitely go back to Stasya Tile in the future. This team is there to support you from start to finish. I'd recommend Jon to anyone looking for a professional, reliable, and personable tile/floor source.

Earlier thebsame dayI'd gone to Ganahl's lumber in Pasadena since it was closer to me. At Ganahl's I was treated with little care by a guy behind a desk who had no trim suggestions except either fiber cement board or redwood. HOWEVER, at Imperial Annie immediately suggested Bodyguard's 5.5" trim made for exterior applications. (I like the Bodyguard trim because it had eased edges that looked more finished than straight lumber edges). Annie explained how the pine product is double primed, etc. She called her supplier right away to see if they d it in stock which they did. She also showed me samples she's ordered for another client so I could see the quality of the product. In other words she took the time to care about what I was looking for. At Ganahl's they really didn't care about what I actually needed. My husband might prefer the redwood option(because it's a more "noble" wood than pine,) but I definitely prefer the great service at Imperial which is where I'd go for any future hardwood and moulding needs.

Spoiler alert: THEY ARE. First, we spoke to Diana, a woman who is kind, professional and 100% no BS. She got the ball rolling by answering all of our questions and setting up a phone meeting to assess our needs and get things started. The communication was clear and throughout the process Diana was always available to answer questions and deal with insurance. She is a rockstar. Next, we met with Harry, who really listened to our wants/needs/desires on a new kitchen. He took photos and drew up an estimate for our insurance. Finally, we met with both Harry and Eduard, the owner/designer/genius of the operation. He was able to very quickly discuss what was and was not possible as well as make some suggestions that were 100% perfect. We absolutely decided to move forward after this meeting. Throughout every step of the process, Eduard and his crew were there when they said they would be there, on time, clean and dependable. They never left my house a mess. Everything was done with the highest quality and care. In addition, the crew he had was specialized and very good. His stone man has been with him 25 years and is an artist. His tile man was incredible and accurate with a tough tile pattern. His subcontractors were respectful and did great work. They always delivered and even finished early. Eduard also accommodated changes and worked with us to get exactly what we wanted on time and on budget. We would not hesitate to use them again! In addition, they worked beautifully with our insurance and adjuster, ensuring that everything went smoothly so we didn't have to worry about anything else. They turned a flood tragedy into a beautiful kitchen!
