I tried a margarita and an espresso martini and…read morealthough the margarita was really good, the espresso martini was smooth, refreshing, with just enough sweetness, definitely my favorite of the two. The drinks menu has so much variety for margs, espresso martinis, sangrias and more. I got a tavern burger and it did not disappoint. It was cooked perfectly medium and the toppings were just enough, not too over the top. Good flavor and juicyyy too. The only thing that personally wasn't up my alley was the garlic parm fries, I should had stuck with plain ol fries. They were cooked well and were seasoned well but something made them a little on the greasy side. The aioli or truffle sauce was super bland and tasted like mayo (maybe it was mayo). I'd still keep my review at five stars though and this may just be a preference thing! Our server was great too and service was very friendly, prompt, with good conversation. Upgraded the experience a bit. I would come back here anytime.

Welcome to Braintree, Tavern in the Square!…read more What once was home to Friday's is now the renovated Tavern in the Square. I think we can all agree that Friday's was a dump and needed to go. I have been to several other Tavern in the Square and I am happy that they finally came to Braintree. With plenty of parking, depending on the time and day, this restaurant is clean, new, and is perfect for watching all kinds of sports. With great big TVs, excellent food and wonderful service, I believe Tavern in the Square will thrive here. We stopped in here for a quick lunch and had great service. I ordered the Chopped Greek with Chicken which was larger than I hoped but still very good. My husband had their Steak & Cheese Crunch Melt. It reminded me of a steak and cheese but better. A must order for sure! Go check it out for yourself! I know you will be impressed as much as we were.

The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, it's perfect whether you're stopping in for a casual night out, or meeting friends for a special occasion. We had a reservation and were seated right away on a nice large table for the five of us. Nice brick interior, a bit dark for my taste but I am old and couldn't see the menu too well, needed a cell light but super friendly server which always is a plus. Chose the Philly Cheese Steak and got the arugula salad which was fairly large for a side. Sandwich was also good-sized and I only could eat half but the other half made for a nice lunch the next day. Others were happy with their meals, I honestly forget what everyone ordered. The draft beers and other drinks came quickly and waitress was good about keeping our glasses full. Very responsive. Was sort of loud place is my only complaint. Plenty of parking behind the restaurant or on-street.

The old "idle hour"…read more First time ordering pizza from here and it was okay. I think I would prefer to go in next time and grab a bar seat or table and eat in house. We also ordered their Caesar Salad which was good. I do remember this spot before it was Drifters and it was called Idle Hour which I loved so much. But I will say I am excited that a new pizza spot is now in its place. I think my next time that I try this will be physically at the restaurant. My only concern is that it is very loud. It is a great place to go watch sports for sure!

Grabbed drinks here with a friend on a Saturday night and wow was it busy!…read more There was live music when we first walked in so the ambiance was quite loud... like I could barely hear myself let alone hold a conversation. The place itself was small too so the music really overpowered everything. But once the live music wrapped up the vibes were good! Not too loud that I was screaming over it, but still lively. I got the Heart of Stone which was delicious! Not too sour or sweet, but was definitely a strong cocktail. I had 3/4 of it and I was already feeling it. My friend got an Old Fashioned and she was a big fan! It went down quite smoothly and tasted good too. For $14 a drink, it was a little pricy but honestly I've seen places in Boston charge more. I would recommend coming here to grab drinks but maybe not a spot to catch up because of how loud it was. Would love to try their food as it looked pretty good!

Dotty's is delightful!…read more Everything you want from a restaurant Dotty's has. Formerly known as The Townshend, this Quincy local restaurant is the best place for exceptional service, fantastic food, creative cocktails and am Ambiance that will sure impress any date. This might be my 3rd or 5th review because why not! When you find a place that you love you brag about it. For starters we shared their fried pickles with their homemade ranch dressing. We also love their stuffed dates. For entrees, I had their Salmon which is always cooked to perfection. My husband's had their Steak Frites which he enjoyed very much. Dessert is always a tough choice since all of them are excellent but this time we went with their brownie sundae. After plenty of glasses of wine and some dirty martinis let's just say we didn't want to leave but it was getting late. If you have never been to Dotty's or their other restaurants I highly recommend checking them out! Cheers

Met up with some good friends in Quincy and we're looking for a place to eat. Conveniently located by the Quincy Center stop, this place was great! We were seated quickly without a reservation (though clearly it can get popular, we showed up at 5:30 and by 6 the place was full of reserved parties!) and our server was very helpful. We got the fried calamari and the steak tartare as starters. While the calamari itself was crunchy and nicely lightly battered and fried, I would guesstimate that about 50% of the dish was actually calamari. The rest of the fried bits were carrot coins, lemon slices (with the seeds still in...) and what I think were pieces of poblano peppers. This honestly felt disappointing as the portion was quite small to start, and then for half of it to be miscellaneous fried veggies felt like it wasn't a great deal. The steak tartare was also an extremely tiny portion, with the plate heavily populated by arugula leaves and six tiny toasts. Not the most generous portions here unfortunately. I got the steak frites as my main. The steak itself was presently beautifully with a peppercorn sauce poured over it. However, I was looking for the salt shaker because the steak was quite underseasoned. While it looked like a good medium rare cook (how I ordered it) with a great looking sear, I had quite a bit of chew work to do getting through the gristly bits. The fatty side cap was a bit chewy and could have used some direct searing. The oysters were delicious! Not even a little bit of grit, with a very onion-heavy mignonette as an accompaniment. We didn't order much from the raw bar due to my friends' tastes but I feel like this would probably be the reason I come back another time with different people! I could have definitely been happier with the food here. But again don't sleep on the raw bar and if you're looking for a nice place to hang for an evening, overall great vibes here!

I saw some delicious sounding seafood, steak and Italian dishes as well as salads and appetizers on the menu and since I was more in the mood for a steak I picked the Filet Mignon as my entree. They had two different sized cuts that they were offering and I decided to go with the smaller one. It was very delicious and I got the mashed potatoes as a side dish which was also very good. I happened to be there during a busy lunch hour so the place was a bit noisy but nothing too overwhelming. It did take a little while for the meal to be served but it was well worth the wait. The prices are a bit high but you definitely get what you pay for. I really liked this restaurant and I will definitely consider dining with them at one of their other locations within the Boston area.
