Homemade Corn beef Hash with eggs over and home fries .
Robina C.

The food was exceptional and homemade Corn Beef was so good. The best one I ever had and I've had many a Corn Beef Hash. The waitress was so attentive but not over bearable. The place had three to 4 rooms for seating. Plenty of room and not crammed. Laurene was too nice. It was my first time and it was very enjoyable just sitting there and eating. I will tell my friends and I will be back.

I was introduced to this spot from a friend. It is a fantastic family owned restaurant that is opened like everyday of the week. I have tried their breakfast and dinner. Food here is very consistently good! The staff is very friendly and kind. A really wonderful hardworking team! It is spacious and a great spot that can host all sizes and in group. Great positive atmosphere! I enjoy the food, service, and atmosphere every time I come!

The service was excellent. The food was ok. There is no ambiance. White walls type a joint. I'll come back for them pancakes and a cup of orange juice.

If you are looking for an authentic Irish local neighborhood diner, Mckay's is for you. This place gets five stars for its no-nonsense ambiance and good old-fashioned actual *service*. I was greeted instantly and matter-of-factly by one of the head servers who got me to a table immediately. Everyone in the place seemed to know each other and/or were regulars. My waitress was outstanding. I don't even know the last time I had such proactive and attentive *service*. She must have been constantly surveying the room because when I pulled out my daily vitamins she popped over to ask if I needed some water. I had bought a small bottle of orange juice at my hotel before leaving for breakfast. When I pulled it out of my purse to finish it off she asked if I wanted a glass with ice. And she always seemed to come by just as my coffee cup was about empty to ask if I was ready for a refill. They honestly don't make 'em like this anymore. With the new and outrageous tip culture where I'm asked for a tip as I am rung up at the register just for placing an order, where I have to pick up the food myself and bus my own table if I want to sit down, Mckay's reminds us why tipping was invented in the first place. At Mckays, even though I was from out of town, I was treated like family. Pro tip: Order the grilled raisin soda bread.

Just eat here again and it's is as good as ever had the Veggie Omelette without Tomatoes and Home-fries and Rye Bread it was awesome. As always if your around the Quincy area make this one of your stops for breakfast you won't be disappointed or leave hungry. P.S. the server was a awesome as well Thanks Mia

I don't want to do this. McKays has been a lovely breakfast spot and the waitresses are so sweet. But this is too much. Last fall I ordered takeout and saw a distinct mouse turd in my food. I am well aware of what mice feces look like, but I tried to let it go, thinking I couldn't possibly be right. I was wrong. Today my husband brought me to McKays for Mother's Day. In the second room, the room next to the bar, there's the overwhelming smell of mouse ammonia. Sure enough, mice started coming out from behind the booth in the dining room, running along the walls. It lasted the duration of our visit and we all saw, my 5 year old took photos. What's most upsetting to me is that it confirms that it WAS mouse feces in my food last fall, and it's still obviously an ongoing problem for them. Note: they took off my $11 breakfast as I was physically unable to eat it after watching the mice, but still charged the rest of my family for their meals.

The best corned beef hash I've ever had!! Granted I haven't had that many and this was the first time in Boston, but it was soooo good and had an authentic feeling. Definitely would recommend the corned beef! As a bonus the toasted english muffin on the side was buttery and delightful. The eggs were cooked just as ordered and the portions were large. I especially liked the Irish bacon and the sausages on the Irish breakfast. The black pudding and white pudding were fun to try and went well with the potatoes and meats. The Irish breakfast also comes with beans and Irish soda bread which was really tasty!

The Irish breakfast was greasy and disgusting. The sausages tasted rotten. I took one bite, paid and left. I won't be back.

Good food. Abundant portions. Not expensive. Great service. It's exactly what you'd hope to experience at a local breakfast place.

I've seen photos of the unique mousse desserts online but yesterday was the first time I decided to check it out. Their pastries look amazing. I was having a case of choice paralysis. I arrived around 2:30 and noticed that some of the croissant pastries were already sold out. I decided to opt for the seasonal croissant and I was surely not disappointed. The cross section looks great and the jam/filling on the inside does have texture so it's not smooth purée which was a nice change of pace. I didn't get to try any of their drinks but judging from what I saw at the other tables, I really need to try it next time. There is a self area on the left side of the store where there are utensils and the handles of the knives were HOT when I went to get one so you can definitely rest assured that these are cleaned frequently (but do be careful). There is complementary lemon infused water and the disposal area near the restrooms. Noise level wise-- it is not a super big cafe and tables are seated close to each other and it can get loud when the coffee machine does its thing but overall I would say it's a pretty good location to have a little with a friend.

The glass case as soon as you entered this corner pastry shop, contained the most amazing individually made pastries I have ever seen! Truly an eye catcher! The artistry of each piece of pastry and its colors are so vibrant looking. Not only it looked amazing, but once you take a bite it's like something you never tasted before! The flavors jumps up and fills your senses with so much joy! Even your brain has a sugar rush like no other pastry I have ever eaten! Going down the line and seeing all the different shapes and flavors to choose from! A desserts lover's dream! You must try to experience each one by returning over and over till you have tried all of them ! These morsels of confectionery delights are meant to be shared with friends and loved ones. Take your time to savor each bite! Bring someone special and surprise them with a tasty treat ! For any occasion! Even make up an occasion as an excuse to treat yourself and someone else! I can't believe I have not had the pleasure before today! Thank you and my taste buds thank you!

Grabbed drinks here with a friend on a Saturday night and wow was it busy!…read more There was live music when we first walked in so the ambiance was quite loud... like I could barely hear myself let alone hold a conversation. The place itself was small too so the music really overpowered everything. But once the live music wrapped up the vibes were good! Not too loud that I was screaming over it, but still lively. I got the Heart of Stone which was delicious! Not too sour or sweet, but was definitely a strong cocktail. I had 3/4 of it and I was already feeling it. My friend got an Old Fashioned and she was a big fan! It went down quite smoothly and tasted good too. For $14 a drink, it was a little pricy but honestly I've seen places in Boston charge more. I would recommend coming here to grab drinks but maybe not a spot to catch up because of how loud it was. Would love to try their food as it looked pretty good!
