I went to Rick at ED Auto to install new, replacement seats for my Toyota Rav4 in September 2020. Overall, I would recommend shopping around. Pros - Quick replies and good communication - Competitive pricing. I paid $550 to replace the front and rear seating. Cons - Poor follow-through.... - One of the rear seat belts was put on backwards. This was fixed after I pointed it out to Rick. - The electric cables under both front seats were loose and not properly re-fastened after the install. I didn't notice this until coming home later. - Interior had sawdust and shop debris. Minor thing, but it's nice to drive away with a clean looking car. read more

This is the second Ford that developed, at around year seven, a tear in the leather seat in the exact same spot under the driver's butt. Some would suggest that speaks to the (low) quality of leather that Ford uses. Others (my husband) would suggest "you're sitting on it wrong". After slugging him, i will just call this the Ford Seven-Year Itch. I've had no car payment for several years - which is soooo nice - and while the car has seven years of wear and tear, it's got a whole lot more life in it. Plus a tear in a seat shouldn't be your primary motivation when deciding to buy a car. But what to do? It's getting cooler out and if I just left the tear exposed would my beloved bun warmer burn my beloved buns? Suggestions for "fixes" like those Hawaiian seat covers (or, of course, duct tape) elicited eye rolls and derision from the younger generation of our family. Finding a replacement at a junk yard sounded expensive, and like so much work - and would likely render my bun-warmer inoperable. So what to do indeed. Enter ED Auto Upholstery. Rick did an awesome job for us. He was on time for our appointment, was super personable, and explained our options. He advised that once he started working our dry, worn leather, if it began disintegrating as he tried to sew, he'd have to replace the leather panels adjacent to the one with the tear as well (he gave us quotes for both scenarios). He was fast (3 hours) and he did quality work. He did end up doing the adjacent panels as well - and he came in _under_ the quoted amount. Excellent! My seat looks great! He had the best price but atop that, he was more personable and genuine over the phone, returning my call promptly the following monday morning. Fair prices, solid workmanship - this one's a winner. We'll go see Rick again if we need other interior work done. This time, he replaced the top on our convertible. He kept us informed along the way, even was happy to talk us through some questions about the top/motor before he even had our business. Rick worked on my 2004 corvette. I had some wear and decided to change my seats from black to red leather. I ordered some aftermarket seats from eBay and Rick made them fit like a champ. The seat had minor fitment issues due to different than stock strap placement but Rick figured out how to make them look beautiful. People now double take when they see my car. I also like that Rick was extra careful not to scratch any of my paint or the interior panels. Satisfied customer here. Will go back to ED read more

I talked to Rick late last year and found him helpful and friendly so I decided to do business with him even though I knew I wasn't going to have work done until July of this year. Again, when I brought my 1995 GMC ranch truck in to have the seats redone he was more than friendly and helpful. He gave me a few tips to save money on unnecessary work and quoted me a super price. I think he didn't charge enough for his art and craftsmanship. I couldn't be happier with his work. It looks and smells like a new truck inside. Mmmmmmmm leather! Overall a great experience. I went early Feb for a stitching repair job on a 1998 canvas Jeep top. Repairs and service where prompt and excellent. He called when it was ready and he was kind enough to sew on a part of the canvas I forgot to bring the first time. Prices where affordable, but cash only. Great place and quality work. It is really nice place and Rick is very nice and friendly guy. I took my car there that I bought used and had troubles with the roof. I was afraid that I might have to change the entire roof and would get expensive. But instead Rick suggested much easier way out and got the work done immediately. Doesn't charge for small works either. It's a small decent place to get the work done in no time. Don't let the location or appearance of the shop (or its owner) dissuade you from entrusting your car to Rick's care. This is just an honest, hardworking guy who chooses NOT to work for a big, overpriced shop. He is very personable, gave me a fair price on replacement of my Toyota Solora convertible top, did not try to upsell me on replacing parts that were fine (like the separate window section in the back that had been replaced 2 years ago), and had the job done in two days. When I arrived and found a small problem he fixed it on the spot and I drove away happy. That was a few weeks ago and I'm still completely satisfied (no latent problems with the installation). Well I'll say this. I took ED more than enough material to complete the console, front and rear seats. I was told the job would be completed in a week time frame. The Front driver seat was done promptly, but after that it was a disaster! After about 4 days the passenger seat had been completed but the stitching was a different color than the first seat. After about 7 days and random pop up visits, I noticed a pattern of other customers distracting ED as well as ED putting my items on the back burner and working on other projects despite my stopping by. After about 10 day half of the rear seats had been completed and he had run out of material to complete my interior. As I'm looking around for possible misplaced material I had taken to ED. After uncovering my console from underneath someone else door panel, I found that my console had been damage. When I confronted ED regarding my damaged console I was accused of taking it to him damaged already. That straw broke the camel's back. I gave a one star rating because he did complete one seat correctly, with the exception of a 1" SCRATCH in the leather. read more
