The waiting time was great! The staff are very nice people,…read moreand very caring.... But your receptionist at the front desk, needs to be replaced, her attitude was as bad as an junk yard dog!! And she doesn't care about nothing or anyone, the waiting time for her to change my daughter's pharmacy prescription took hours, I even had my pharmacist to call and she still did not pickup the phone,it was almost like we had to beg her to send it, and that's so sad! She really needs to be replaced for someone who really cares about people and there job as well. This is this just senseless!!!!! For this place in Roanoke rapids to be called urgentcare.

Absolutely Disrespectful, Dismissive, Medically Biased Treatment:…read more I am writing this review on behalf of my mother, and I am personally glad that I was with her to bear witness to her horrible treatment. Kimberly Johnson, NP immediately on entry into the room, you could already tell by her demeanor, posture, and tone of voice that she had her mind made up about treatment before she even walked into the room. After she introduced herself and asked my mother why she was there, Kimberly Johnson, NP stated, "Why didn't you follow-up with Orthopedics?" My mother and I both denied it because we didn't remember a referral and her last treatment was with her PCP whom she sees every 3 months like clockwork. Kimberly Johnson, NP literally stated, "well I am not going to debate this with you!" My mother is 69 years old, stroke survivor, very quiet, kind, loving, simple person and my mother immediately said "ok", became quiet and put her head down. She has never been a person to cause an argument or even argue. I AM NOT MY MOTHER! I am more aware and knowledgeable of MEDICAL BIASES (that is deeply rooted in racism) towards the elderly, women, and especially Black Women. We did not argue with Kimberly Johnson, NP at all, did not raise our voices, but was bewildered as to how dialogue to correct misinformation turns into a "Debate." Kimberly Johnson, NP then assessed my mother and stated that "she could feel the arthritis in her knee and that she would give her something for pain and to follow-up with Orthopedics." I had to request that we wanted to have an Xray to which she stated, "you will need an MRI because Xray only shows bone." Prior to the Xray she printed off the discharge paperwork for the referral to Orthopedics that my mother had in the past. My mother literally sat in that room and stressed over how she could have missed this referral. Well, this referral was back on May 11, 2020!!! 4 years ago, and literally 41 days after the state of NC went on Lock Down for Covid on March 30, 2020. There was absolutely no access to specialty non-life-threatening care at that time. My mother, had seen her PCP for this knee pain 2 years ago, received a steroid injection and was fine until a few days before that visit. If Kimberly Johnson, NP would have decided to be an actual caring, intuitive provider for the population she services she would have understood this instead of laying that newly printed 4-year-old Orthopedic Referral in my hand, like she had just dropped the cure to Cancer. Kimberly Johnson, NP is an arrogant, disrespectful, dismissive person who provides care heavily weighted in MEDICAL BIASES. Kimberly Johnson, NP you think we didn't notice how you were a little softer in your tone after I asked for the practice mangers information from the front desk. Kimberly Johnson, NP you think we didn't notice that when you gave her discharge papers, that you didn't even tell her the medication you were prescribing that I had to ask you. (Did you ever think not telling someone something, would possibly not know about it?) She has never been a drug user or seeker. She truly had an acute non-life-threatening change from her baseline that affected her Activities of Daily Living and could not get in with her PCP. A nationally categorically listed reason to seek treatment at an Urgent Care. I end this review and letter, to say it will not change your behavior or the practice of FastMed, because I know this is not the First or Last complaint about you. However, I am expecting people who would normally seek treatment at your facility, will see this review and go where they are listened to and not treated with MEDICAL BIASES, anger, and disgust.

Very disappointing experience…read more My husband was genuinely sick with fever, body aches, headache, loss of appetite, and flu-like symptoms and needed a doctor's note to return to work. We attempted to come in around 7 PM one evening (they close at 8 PM) but were turned away and told they were no longer taking patients, even though they were still open. We were instead scheduled for an appointment the next morning at 8 AM. By the time he was seen, several days had passed and his symptoms were improving, which is normal. However, the doctor's note stated they could not excuse prior missed work because he "presented for work excuse" and tested negative for COVID/flu. The wording felt dismissive and implied he wasn't truly sick. The wording of the note was very disappointing and came across as dismissive, as if my husband was not truly sick or was being dishonest. Anyone who has been ill knows that by day 4-5 symptoms can improve and tests can be negative, even if you were genuinely sick earlier. We were not asking for anything unreasonable -- just documentation acknowledging that he had been ill and unable to work. Compassion and better bedside manner would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling judged rather than cared for.

Just another walk in clinic who's management cannot get their things in order. It's a wonder how…read morethey are able to keep anyone employed... As someone who has years of management experience, they need to clean house on the management level. This goes for all their facilities. Overall, the staff at the counters are excellent. But it's extremely obvious that the management requires a lot more training. Message for the management, you guys should really look into McDonald's. It would be a better suited career choice.

So far since I have been in Raleigh, this is the one place I could go to for good service and excellent care.

My experience at FastMed Urgent Care Raleigh East Millbrook was horrific…read more Long Wait Time: I waited for 90 minutes before being seen by a medical assistant. Lack of Care: I felt that the staff at FastMed did not prioritize my care and were more concerned with casual conversations. High Cost and Inappropriate Prescription: I was charged $50 for a PA visit and received a prescription for a brand-name medication that was not covered by insurance, costing $425. I looked up the prescription and it comes in generic. But the PA was not concerned about updating the medication to the generic. Patient's Condition: I was very sick with a fever and needed medication immediately. Pharmacy Contact: I even provided the PA with the contact information for their pharmacy (Walgreens, 6 Forks Rd., phone number 919-787-1155) and asked them to call directly. PA's Incompetence: The PA failed to read the patient's notes, causing a delay in treatment despite my urgent condition. Medical Experience: I had trouble getting critical medicine and reaching the "PA's" office. Appointment Policy: Most medical facilities have a policy where if someone is more than 15 minutes late for an appointment, they have to reschedule 24 hours in advance or pay a fee. The policy should go both ways. Recommended Doctor: I hugely recommend Capital Family Medicine and Dr. Short.
