I went to see Dr. P a few years ago just for a regular eye exam because I didn't feel up to driving…read morean hour to see my regular eye doc. Well this Dr shines a light so bright that I had headaches for weeks after the visit. Secondly, when I went to pay instead of the $15 co-pay on my vision plan they tried to charge me the $80 BCBS co pay for seeing a specialist. They said it was because my visit was medical because I had eye allergies. I refused to pay because I already knew I had issues with my eyes & had come in for just a routine eye exam. So they changed their minds and only charged me for the $15 co-pay. Fast forward to Winter 2018. My husband didn't want to drive over an hour this year and asked me to get him an appt locally. So I thought I'd give Pro-Vision another shot. Nope same thing happened to my husband. Only this time they didn't change their mind. So I was stuck with paying the higher co pay and extra for what BCBS would not cover . Pro Vision claimed it was a medical visit because mu husband has diabetes. Watson Eye in Rocky Mount, NC NEVER charged us for a medical visit and they run all the same eye tests, dilation, refraction reading the chart, checking for glaucoma, etc.. I have to pay or else they will turn this over to a collection agency and ruin my credit. It may be inconvenient to drive all the way over there but go to Watson Eye in Rocky Mount. It may cost a little more in gas but Dr. Shepard there is great. I take all 6 of my kids there. So I say AVOID Pro Vision in Roanoke Rapids unless you want to get over charged. You have been warned.
