The second time I was there, I was having a heart attack and the doctor on duty saved my life.. every time I go there I have been completely satisfied with the service except for one day and that was only because there was a new person at the reception and didn't have the computer skills to do what needed to be done. My experience at FastMed Urgent Care Raleigh East Millbrook was horrific. Long Wait Time: I waited for 90 minutes before being seen by a medical assistant. Lack of Care: I felt that the staff at FastMed did not prioritize my care and were more concerned with casual conversations. High Cost and Inappropriate Prescription: I was charged $50 for a PA visit and received a prescription for a brand-name medication that was not covered by insurance, costing $425. I looked up the prescription and it comes in generic. But the PA was not concerned about updating the medication to the generic. Patient's Condition: I was very sick with a fever and needed medication immediately. Pharmacy Contact: I even provided the PA with the contact information for their pharmacy (Walgreens, 6 Forks Rd., phone number 919-787-1155) and asked them to call directly. PA's Incompetence: The PA failed to read the patient's notes, causing a delay in treatment despite my urgent condition. Medical Experience: I had trouble getting critical medicine and reaching the "PA's" office. Appointment Policy: Most medical facilities have a policy where if someone is more than 15 minutes late for an appointment, they have to reschedule 24 hours in advance or pay a fee. Can you say hello or anything. Then she takes my blood pressure 2 times I tell her it's wrong it has never been high she says I'll do it again later and proceeds to document the high number. Then the doctor comes in after two hours and thought I was walking out of there with nothing. No ma'am you giving me an antibiotic for my time or something. I am extremely disappointed with our experience at FastMed. We went early one morning because my wife was not feeling well. When we arrived, there was no one at the front desk. After a short wait, the receptionist came out while continuing a conversation with someone in the back. From the start, it felt like she was doing her job with minimal care or attention toward us. The biggest issue occurred after the visit, when we later received a bill stating that we owed a $100 copayment. This was shocking, as we are 100% certain we paid it at the time of check-in. My wife and I even joked that we were able to pay the copayment with money I had made selling a Pokémon card, which is why we remember the payment so clearly. I work in the medical field and understand how the check-in and billing process works. Urgent care clinics do not check patients in without first collecting payment or setting up an alternative method of payment. We were offered no alternative arrangement because we paid at the front desk. However, when I later called the main office, I was asked whether my wife had been seen as an emergency since there was supposedly no payment on file at check-in--which makes no sense given standard urgent care procedures. I went back to the clinic to dispute the charge and checked for security cameras to see if they could review footage of my payment, but there were none at the front desk. The manager was polite and did escalate our concern, which I appreciate. Unfortunately, FastMed ultimately decided that we still owe the money. I understand that part of the fault is ours for not asking for a receipt, but we are absolutely certain the payment was handed over. At this point, the money was either mishandled or stolen. Regardless, we will not be paying the same bill twice. I thanked the manager for her efforts, but this experience has completely eroded our trust. We will never return to FastMed, and I would strongly advise others to be very cautious, especially about getting receipts for any payments made. read more

As I was walking in there was a disgruntled woman who was yelling and cursing at staff I must say Jamie handled the situation in a very professional manner. I made appointment same day. Took about a hour to be seen however I made the appointment same day so I understood. However, for vagina samples you do them yourself which was very weird to me. That's the only negatives. That why I give 3 stars. I never in 10 years in healthcare heard of that. And I came by last year and didn't have to. Jamie tried explaining to me that what they been doing. However I disagree. These ladies and Dylan were very nice and friendly. The nurse practitioner was Indian young woman and very attentive to my needs and concerns.I believe my care was taking care of. I would come back. It was 2pm and they close at 4, per the young lady that called. I informed them it would be at least 30 mins. They called back again telling me that the PA on duty felt I should go to the ER as an X-ray may not show if ribs are broken. Mentioned again that they close at 4. Felt very much like it was too close to quitting time and did not want to deal with my injuries. I wanted to come to urgent care cause I don't want to sit in an ER for 3 or 4 hours. My office experience with FastMed/Millbrook bordered on comparison to a third world location. They were so low on staff that the provider was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. She only addressed 1 issue, I was very sick with Covid and spin-off infections so I had to have an UA plus other infections. The bathroom was filthy and looked like it had NEVER been cleaned. I have had great experiences at other FastMed Urgent Care facilities so when I needed a quick appointment near work and saw this location had availability, I was thrilled! However, once I arrived, I was terribly upset with the level of care received. I waited nearly an hour past my appointment time (which I completely understand wait times will be longer than expected during flu/covid season) and once I finally was able to see a provider, I felt like she was not listening to a word I said, which was later confirmed when she didn't prescribe one of the medications I needed because she didn't hear me say I had none left. Advocating for your own care is important, but it should not have to be so hard every step of the way that you almost believe it would be less painful to just avoid seeking care all together. After paying for services and "band aid" medication, I have made a follow up appointment elsewhere, hoping the physician I see will be more willing (or just willing period) to listen to me as a patient who is trying to explain their symptoms and habits in my health that might help diagnose and treat the issue, as opposed to suggesting Robitussin and a co-pay. Have used them multiple times in past, with no real issues...But last time, was an utter joke of negligence..Scheduled online, arrived on time, then waited more than 30 mins after being called to be seen..With air conditioner so low it was frigid in there..I'm on oxygen and informed them I had limited time..Was ignored and still had to wait and wait and wait..Finally gave up and left.,.Cannot return there and have already found another provider..Plus, they claimed they accept what insurance pays WITHOUT asking for co-pays..That is not true..They said I had an outstanding balance, so I paid them..They cheated me and I did not cheat them..With COPD all I required were a few days of antibiotics to cure exacerbation and inflammation, and I informed them of that..That of course never happend...I don't know what it has changed as it was in the past, but that was my last experience I will have with them.... read more

Came in on a Sunday morning for a preemployment drug screen. The waiting area was completely empty at 9 am and check in time with all the paperwork was only 10 mins. Overall good experience. The wait was around 45 minutes. I was in no rush and no one should be at an Urgent Care or Emergency Room. The employees were friendly and considerate. If I have to visit an urgent care I would return. I just received the billing statement and it was wrong. They didn't bill the insurance so I had to call 3 separate times just to get a hold of customer service to find out what was going on. I left 1 voicemail and called back two other times and on the third attempt I was able to speak to a live person. Again, had to be placed on hold and had to wait for a call back. I made appointment on Saturday for Sunday at 8:45 AM. I received an email confirmation on Saturday for my appointment. Arrived at 8 AM and place look closed. After about 15 minutes I found a side door propped open and knocked. Someone came to the door and I asked her whether they were open and she said no due to lack of workers. I told her I had an 8:45 appointment and she said they had no one to check me in. She said they might open later. I suggested she put a sign on the door and she told me she was not allowed to until the manager arrived. She said no signs were allowed to be placed without managers approval. Brought my son in for a school physical. Used the online appointment reservation and that worked great. We were seen on time. Waiting room was very clean. The front desk was very friendly and explained the visit well. The tech did a decent job with the previsit information and vitals. The NP performed a decent exam and completed the paperwork. She seemed knowledgeable and was very professional. I liked that the office is certified by the joint commission. I'm a nurse executive and super judgy and picky about medical care. I was overall impressed with the visit however, I thought it was pretty gross from an infection control perspective that the NP was eating cheerios and yogurt at the nurses station. I think that the management could tighten up on that but overall I'm thankful for the paperwork completion. I would return in the future if we needed care. read more

I went to the Clayton NC office onSept 7th for Covid testing and was told that results would be back in 3-5 days .. As of today September 16th.. I still have not received results... I have called several times to only be told it's taking longer than normal... but everywhere else is getting results in 24-48 hours... I have left several messages for office manger to call me ... with no return call... This is really disappointing.. I've had to stay out of work for over a week now.. feeling fine... waiting on results... I see how this virus gets out of control.. most people aren't gonna sit in the house and miss work without pay waiting on results that don't seem to ever be coming... hell the person that exposed me is cured at this point.... My wife had a fall and injured her hand and bumped her head. She was in pain mostly from her hand and we went to this location on October 25 at approximately 5 o'clock in the afternoon. The lady on the desk told us that she could not be seen because we did not have an appointment; that we could be seen the next morning at 9 AM. Had I known my wife was going to fall before she fell I would have made an appointment but the sign out front which read urgent care suggested that they would take us because we had an immediate need. We left there and went to Raleigh Duke emergency room where she was diagnosed as having a small fracture in her wrist and they did x-rays of her head to make sure that was ok. read more

Had to bring my child in on July 4th. I was worried about a long wait and Coronavirus protocol. The experience from start to finish was AMAZING. The man on the phone was polite and friendly. Check in was fast and easy. They offered us water bottles, which I thought was a nice extra. No appointment slots were available but they "squeezed" us in because my young child was sick and in pain. Zero wait, clean room. Friendly nurse and PA, quick results and excellent care. Our meds were ready by the time we got to the pharmacy. The check-in before showing up is nice, and once I got the call to come in I drove over (less than 2 minutes for me), I was taken to an exam room rather promptly after filling out a litany of paperwork. Then, I was forced to wait for over an hour in the exam room on the nurse practitioner, while listening to the ladies at the nurses station oogle over free Q-Tip jars that a sales rep was giving them. After the hour long wait (luckily they had the email address of the FastMed director on the back of the door, whom I emailed about the wait to express my dissatisfaction), the NP came in and said they didn't have the test for what I feared I might have (strep). Fine. But she also thought I did not have strep and sent me on my way. Then I get a bill for $270. For a 5-8 minute consultation. No tests. Maybe that's the per-hour rate for using the exam room? They made sure I spent a full hour in there... If you have full coverage insurance (I have a old HSA), then maybe you'll not get hit as hard, and I did end up having a discount because of my affiliation with BCBS, but for someone off the street to pay $270 for that (lack of) service seems excessive. There was no urgency in this "Urgent Care" facility. The only thing this place was to me was conveniently close. I won't be returning. In addition to this, I then get the bill in the mail and call to verify charges for no tests, etc...I left two messages and finally got a call back after 18 days from my first call. I was not told the truth. You should go elsewhere. I went here about a year ago. It had just opened. The doctor saw me promptly and checked out my issue for about 5 min. I was in and out with some generic antibiotics. When I went to pay, the clerk to me there was no charge. She did not say there was no charge pending what my insurance company decided to pay, she simply said there was no charge. I thought since all i got were some common antibiotics and this was a first visit, maybe it was a courtesy thing and good PR. I didn't think twice about it. ...until I got a bill for $125 in the mail a couple of weeks later. Never have I been to the doctor to get antibiotics and had to pay $125. Fast Med was not forthcoming with the potential charges. I felt lied to. I don't trust them. Go somewhere else. read more

All of the staff were very pleasant and helpful and I was very pleased with the service they gave. The issue I had was with how long it took. I went through the whole process of checking in online beforehand and filling out the paperwork before arriving so that I could get in and out quickly. When I arrived a few minutes before my scheduled time, I was told that there would be an hour to an hour and a half wait. When I asked what the purpose of doing the check in before hand was, the woman at the front said there really wasn't any point to doing it. She wasn't rude about it at all, but I'm assuming she gets that question a lot. So if you plan to go here, the staff are excellent but be prepared to wait. I had to wait an extremely long time and Zimbabwe was not made aware prior to sitting down and paying. I would not have stayed if they informed me. The front desk receptionist was very nice but very unprofessional. Once I saw the Physicians Assistant she had no "bedside manner". She spoke to me for less than 10 minutes before writing a random prescription that I later found out was extremely expensive but there was indeed a generic for that my insurance would have covered. She didn't ask me if I had any questions, etc. I had to take it upon myself to ask questions about the medicine. As she walked out the door she literally let it close in my face and her response to the other nurse was "Give her (me) this paper.", so impersonal. Okay so honestly, I had a really great experience with the E MILLBROOK RD location! The staff is friendly. Joy, Laura, and Robert really helped me out today. I will not be going to other Urgent Cares in the future. They are conveniently located right across the street from me. If it wasn't for my Insurance provider BCBS, I know I probably would have been seen sooner. Yes, there is sometimes a long wait, but that's to be expected at any urgent care. I went in early (around 9:30) on a Tuesday morning and had to wait maybe 5-10 minutes. I've definitely waited longer than that in the past, but they've always taken great care of my husband and me. The front desk gal was really nice and willing to help when I didn't have my insurance card on me. I was seen by Dr. LeRon Jackson and she was extremely nice and patient with me. I felt like she truly heard my concerns and treated me accordingly. I was in and out in maybe an hour (including filling out paper work plus doing a nebulizer treatment) and was very happy with my experience.
