This was my first visit here for a mammogram & ultrasound. The place I usually go to no longer…read moretakes my insurance. What a bummer!! The staff was friendly for the most part from scheduling to check in. The problem came in after check in. My appointment was at 2 pm...I got there around 1:40 pm...yet I was seen almost 1 hour later. I had to go back to work, so the frustration was definitely building. I had the mammogram first. The lady didn't wear gloves or a mask. It was weird. After that, she began to walk me out to leave the office. I had to remind her that I was there for an ultrasound too. She said she thought I had that already. NO! Talk about breakdown in communication. So, here comes the ultrasound lady. She wasn't the friendliest at first, but as time went on, she became Chatty Cathy. I laughed a little bit, got what I needed done, & went back to work. It wasn't the worse experience, but it definitely isn't Wake Radiology. This place has multiple locations, so I'm sure if you have to go this route, they can get you in pretty quickly!! Good luck!!

May, the technician assigned to perform my procedure was a consummate professional. She was very informative throughout the process and pleasant to work with in TWO languages. I'm a big fan of May! Despite being more affordable than the other options in the Tri; CPI has a RIDICULOUS policy of giving patients a CD with their images. They might as well hand out rocks or pine cones because CD's are a nearly extinct storage medium. Neither Duke nor my private physician had ready access to CD drives to read the test results. This proved a huge hassle that caused unwelcome delays in two separate appointments. When I returned to the CPI office to request they e-mail me images- they REFUSED stating it was a HIPAA violation. Nothing could be further from the truth. GET WITH THE TIMES Cardinal Points and re-read the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996

I told the receptionist that I didn't feel comfortable paying until they ran my insurance correctly, and she said payment was due at time of service - ignoring the fact that I didn't even GET serviced. I got a phone call later from the office manager wanting to tell me they don't approve of my behavior and they can't change insurance. funny because I didn't up going to a different doctor an hour later and they had no issues running my insurance correctly. I will never come back here. they are disrespectful like they're still in high school.

Editing review to add that the business contacted me the following morning to rectify the issue…read more Updating intial review for privacy of staff names. Also, updating my stars from 1 to 3 as my PA was great and I hate to leave her but the billing experience and interactions with front desk was too traumatizing to return. Everyone at Avance Care has failed me as a patient. Switching my medical care to Avance Care has been the worse experience ever and one of my biggest regrets. I switched my care in January 2024 from a small private office to Avance Care for allergy shots. To make things easier, I also switched my primary care. In February 2024, I proceeded with allergy shots after the Allergy Tech verified my insurance coverage. In March I received a bill from Avance Care that was more than 10x of what I was quoted for my allergy serum. I contacted the allergy tech and she had her colleague contact my insurance who received the same coverage as the first tech. I was then instructed to not pay the bill and that the Allergy Manager, would work with billing and my insurance to rectify the billing issue. May 7, 2024, I was contacted by the allergy tech with the Allergy Manager on 3 way and contacted my insurance. Through this call we were informed that the insurance verification that was received twice was incorrect which resulted in a higher bill. The insurance rep confirmed that a request to honor the verification received could be done but as the verification was placed on the provider line and we were currently on the customer service line that Avance Care would have to make this call. As the allergy manager, this responsibility was hers. May 14, 2024, I had a PCP visit and upon approaching the front desk I let the front desk rep, know about that bill and the situation as it was still ongoing. AFTER I informed her, she still felt the need to shout out the balance for all of the waiting room to hear and tell me how it needed to be paid. I walked away and informed the allergy tech, they called and spoke directly to her and reiterated everything I said. The tech also clarified that there are notes in my chart which the rep could see. At check out, the same rep still felt the need to harass me about the bill. After that embarrassing in counter with the front desk rep, I switched my injections to the Oberlin Road location to avoid her but kept my primary care at North Wake Forest as I really liked my PA. Since May 2024, I have been requesting on a weekly basis for the Allergy Manager to contact me via the allergy techs as there are no direct contacts listed anywhere for anyone, not even a corporate number or contact for a patient grievance complaints. Only number is for Avance Billing which is outsourced to a foreign country which is unhelpful as there are comprehensive and language barriers. In early December 2014, the allergy tech informed me to contact Avance Billing and request to speak to Avance Billing Manager. It is now end of February 2025 and she has yet to return my call request. I've also still haven't received one call from the Allergy Manager, for whatever reason she will not contact me. On today, February 25, 2025, I contacted Avance Care North Wake Forest as I'm past due for my 6 month follow up and am also sick. I was denied an appointment due to the balance. Of course, it was the same rep from my visit in May who took my call - she has no customer service skills and should not deal with patients first hand. Her tone was rude and "matter of fact." I ended the call by hanging up because no one deserves to be talked to the way she was speaking to me. It's very disheartening that after all of my efforts to rectify the billing issue that I am getting no where and receiving the short end of the stick. I am stuck and don't know what to do next.
