I've been to the Wake Radiology office in Wakefield several times. Twice for MRI tests and once for…read morethe CT scan. The office is very convenient in the UNC Rex Wakefield building on the first floor. As the campus is billed as a hospital, Wake Radiology adds on a hospital charge for insurance. The MRI machine is a mobile unit so you are taken outside to get to it but it is right outside the door. They have a room for you to change and a locker to store your things and provide you with a key. My CT scan did not require changing just verified that I didn't have metal on me. The machine was open and not closed and the procedure was quiet and very fast unlike my MRIs. Check in is always easy here. The technicians for all the procedures has been friendly. The radiologists are also very fast. My test was at 8am and my doctor called with the results at 10:45am. The official report was done at 9:08am.

They continually jabbered on and on to each other, not caring about the patient in their care. They never put anything to lay on, on the hard cold uncovered table which caused my back to hurt. I had to ASK for something to cover the cold MRI table and when I did I was told to calm down! I felt attacked. This was THE WORST and MOST AWFUL health care experience I've EVER had. The techs together were moving my injured body part around without ever asking me if it hurt, which it DID!! They both hurt me more than once and at the end of the MRI, one of the techs pulled my hair! I was injured three times by these complete idiot unprofessional and uncaring techs!!! WakeMed should be ashamed they have these kind of healthcare workers!!! I will NEVER go back there and DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS facility!! I have told my family and friends about this awful experience and none of them will be going there either. Shame on WakeMed Radiology!!!

This was my first visit here for a mammogram & ultrasound. The place I usually go to no longer…read moretakes my insurance. What a bummer!! The staff was friendly for the most part from scheduling to check in. The problem came in after check in. My appointment was at 2 pm...I got there around 1:40 pm...yet I was seen almost 1 hour later. I had to go back to work, so the frustration was definitely building. I had the mammogram first. The lady didn't wear gloves or a mask. It was weird. After that, she began to walk me out to leave the office. I had to remind her that I was there for an ultrasound too. She said she thought I had that already. NO! Talk about breakdown in communication. So, here comes the ultrasound lady. She wasn't the friendliest at first, but as time went on, she became Chatty Cathy. I laughed a little bit, got what I needed done, & went back to work. It wasn't the worse experience, but it definitely isn't Wake Radiology. This place has multiple locations, so I'm sure if you have to go this route, they can get you in pretty quickly!! Good luck!!

May, the technician assigned to perform my procedure was a consummate professional. She was very informative throughout the process and pleasant to work with in TWO languages. I'm a big fan of May! Despite being more affordable than the other options in the Tri; CPI has a RIDICULOUS policy of giving patients a CD with their images. They might as well hand out rocks or pine cones because CD's are a nearly extinct storage medium. Neither Duke nor my private physician had ready access to CD drives to read the test results. This proved a huge hassle that caused unwelcome delays in two separate appointments. When I returned to the CPI office to request they e-mail me images- they REFUSED stating it was a HIPAA violation. I was told that each MRI machine is different and that my x-ray that I had performed 2 weeks prior, needed to be done at Wake Radiology. understanding MRI machines are different but an X-ray is the same no matter where it is performed. Also, the radiologists, especially at a large conglomerate like Wake Radiology, have access to the EPIC my chart that every hospital system in Wake County uses So an MRI that was originally ordered on 9/9/2025 has not been performed yet and new neurologic symptoms have developed/increased . also, the radiologists refuse to have any communications with their patients.Wake Radiologists avoid any patient interaction Please avoid Wake Radiology facilities.

They were quick and explained what they were doing before they did it. No anxiety. No stress. It was a really calm experience. The office was clean and organized. It was decorated for the holidays. Very busy office. 2nd time here for X-rays. This office…read morepreviously got me in and out quickly (around 30 minutes total) so it's convenient enough to schedule appointments during the middle of my workday. Today the turnaround time was different. Very slow process. People who came after me were called ahead of me. (perhaps a different type of X-ray?) The total wait time of around 27 minutes to get called back. The time it took to change and complete the X-rays was less than 13 minutes, so it was very quick once in the back. Wait time on this visit was not the best. I would like this office to normalize e-forms instead of paper and pens. I would also like to see the same tech without having to ask. Besides that, the technicians are always nice and accommodating. My technician Laura did a great job making sure I was comfortable during my X-rays. I appreciated this!

I was referred by my doctor to Raleigh Rad who contacted me the day after the official referral. The operator was extremely flexible with my appointment and knowledgeable about the procedure/prep. I was able to schedule a time that was good for me (unheard of in today's medical field) and given the option to get there early for prep or swing by the day before to pick it up. Anyone that can save me some time is winning in my book. I was also contacted one day prior to the procedure by the accounting person to make sure that I was clear on what my insurance was paying and what I would be responsible for. What a great concept! Upfront price (which I thought was incredibly reasonable btw) and the option of a payment plan. These guys should open a car dealership or real estate office. Fast forward to the actual appointment, the office staff were one of the most happy bunch I have run into. The office is conveniently located in a brand spanking new building off Cary Pkwy. I was taken back on time and finished when promised. Maybe I am just used to receiving poor service when it comes to anything medical, but I can't log a single complaint about Raleigh Rad. If you have a choice when being referred for radiology, I highly recommend these guys.

Like I did something wrong! My PCP's office called me that morning and told me that I needed this done quickly and gave me the address of where to go. I was starting to explain that because it didn't make sense to me. She was acting like I made a mistake and continued to question me like I was wrong! I was asked to go back to waiting room to wait! Turns out the mistake was made at Raleigh Radiology. I was there for 2 hrs!! Never got an apology or a complete explanation of what happened! Very upsetting experience! The receptionist greeted me and apologized for the wait as she was working with another patient. Once I was able to check in she was very friendly, genuinely asked how I was doing, and engaged others politely when they came in. The nurse (sonographer?) was nice as well, quick, empathetic, and got me out within 15 minutes. I would definitely come here again.
