Ok, this place is pretty cool! It's similar to [another place that should not be named], but much larger! They buy/sell goods, and they bring over lots of random goodies from Japan (everything - from old vinyl to retro video games and all sorts of collectibles). The service was friendly, and they know their wares which is good. The value is that they will likely have whatever it is that you're looking for, but the other half is that they know what they have and are charging accordingly. Nothing wrong with this at all, but come here expecting to find what you are looking for, not to pay the price you were hoping for. ;) In all this place was a cool find for just randomly driving around on the hunt - I'll certainly return next time I'm in the area. read more

They're really organized with their clothing and I love their clearance section as they have $5, $3, and $1 color tags. The clearance section in FV isn't like that and much more limited compared to this one. Typical costs of non-clearance clothing is around $10-$20 with certain brands being much higher. It's not terrible for thrifting considering the rising costs at Goodwill and Savers, but their clearance section is definitely their saving grace for me. I was trying on one of the clearance cardigans and looking at how it fits me in a mirror when one of the older women workers walked by and told me that I can't try on clothes and that they have a return/exchange policy. However, that doesn't apply to their clearance items as those are final sale so it was kind of annoying to be told that, especially since I saw a girl down my same aisle trying on a jacket lol. I sell my clothes here sometimes and I wouldn't recommend it. They bought one of my denim jackets for less than $5 and was reselling it for $40, kinda irked me tbh lol. Came here recently and brought a few items for sale (purses and computer laptop bags). Staff is friendly and they do the assessent of your product really quick. However, the price I got for my items were a bit low. Since I was either going to donate or discard I felt the value paid for my items were OK. But I did notice that they tend to pay you 10-25% of what they will resell it for. At the moment, the staff told us they no longer take any household appliances, clothing, and luggage as they have too much of it in stock or it wasn't selling. However, if you are looking for old DVDs or vintage toys, there's plently to look around. Unfortunately, from an anime/kawaii collector PoV this Eco Town is by far inferior in comparison to its Fountain Valley counterpart. My friend and I walked in and out in less than 15 minutes. If anything, this is more close to a normie second hand/thrift store than anything. There ARE some anime goods here but they're mostly prize figures that are clearly imported in from Japan from Round 1 or other crane game arcades/etc. due to surplus, meaning that they're the exact same figures you can get from the Fountain Valley location as well. I had an extremely disappointing experience here. I was denied service not based on any valid reason, but due to an employee's personal emotions and lack of professionalism. I also saw a review saying the manager only speaks Japanese, but that hasn't been my experience, every worker I spoke with spoke English and was very helpful. Well organized with lots of items that are on clearance making it a steal ($2-7). Also, there is an ecotek section with a wild amount of film cameras for anyone wanting to get into that as a hobby. There are reasonably priced and in mint condition digital camera lenses as well. Originally, we went in for board games but unfortunately not a big selection - most of the stuff in the toys section were collectibles. But, we did leave with a few $2 vintage vinyls! A fun spot if you like to explore and walk around and a good place to find decent priced trendy clothes or steals if you find gems in the clearance area. They don't have fitting rooms, and they will not allow you to even try things on over your clothes--like a sweater. Some of the staff seem embarrassed by this policy, while others gleefully "enforce." They literally suggested we buy the clothes and try them on in our car, and return them if they don't fit. BUYER & SELLER BEWARE!!! The way I was treated yesterday was insurmountable. I came into sell luxury items as I have done in the past. I was told it would take 30 minutes to assess the pricing of the buy. When I came back after the 30 minutes I was told by the man in the video he needed an extra 15minutes. So I came back again and this time I saw a woman nearly pulling apart my designer bag and dragging it on the counter. She claimed she was looking for the product ID number which was wasn't see in inside the handbag. I asked for too handle with care and she refused to give me my handbag as she claimed she was assessing. I told her she was extremely rude and unprofessional. I demanded my bag back and discovered the purse lining was damaged with stains and the guy was dripping sweat in the bag and everywhere. The hygiene of the man was very unpleasant. The store is extremely hot like there isn't any air conditioning. At that point I confronted them about the damages and they said they didn't do it. I brought in all my items practically new with no damages now I'm taking a loss. I have sold many luxury items to them before that are currently high priced ticketed items in their store currently on display. Just avoid trying to sell here at all costs. You are better off selling your items online. They don't even use authentication software or apps. Their pricing model is by looking at what has sold on Poshmark and then giving you only 10% of that. They do offer a little bit for the clothes, but people also need to understand that they are taking a shot at having to resell that. I sell stuff online and it can sit there for months and years before somebody actually buys it. It's not that easy to resell. Pros and cons. It has a thrift store vibe but with higher prices. Building is hot inside. Nowhere to sit. Takes a while for them to price any items you may want to sell so beware of that. However they seem friendly. Do your research before buying as some prices are fairly high and are the same or even more than eBay. I got a very low price on some obsolete stuff but I just wanted it gone I have no use for it the rest will go in garbage or to Goodwill. After the next customer was done, the cashier ignored me and proceeded to help someone else who barely walked up although we made eye contact several times. I let him know I was waiting and needed help but he told me I wasn't in line since I stood 2 feet to the right even though there are no clear lines indicating where to stand. I have only bought here so have no experience selling. I agree with some of the reviews that certain items are quite expensive. However the items that are hundreds of dollars (name brand clothes, bags, shoes, high end electronics, collector toys) are usually in certain sections so easy to find or avoid based on your preference. There's a range of prices for clothes, including a $5 clothes section with many clothes and most clothes pieces (excluding jackets) are $10-$20. While Goodwill may have some better prices, what is really nice at Eco Town is how well organized, tidy and orderly the place is. Clothes are separated by type (including buttoned vs non-buttoned jackets), size and color, which is a game changer for shopping experience. The changing room wasn't open, but mirrors are close by on each aisle. All staff I met have been friendly and really competent. read more

As a buyer I would do your due diligence and double check whatever you're buying. This store can be a hit or miss, and when it hits, the items can be fake. There are multiple instances where shoes have been ran through legit app (authentication app) and they ended up being replica. I genuinely do not believe they check their stuff. The reviews are true. Do not sell your stuff to this place. I went to sell around 20 Pokémon plushies and was offered $5 dollars for ALL of it. A lot of the items had new tags from the Official Pokémon Center website. All in great condition. You sell them stuff and they mark the price up to close to original to sell. My experience should be shared, it's about 2 staffs giving me two different prices. I was looking thru the record albums. Some were not priced. I asked staff walking by how much, he says $2 each without tags. I end up picking out 11 albums, none with tags. Yes. You know it's coming...the staff I think the Manager helped me at register. I told him that gentleman over there said $2 each. Immediately, I can tell his face was like "huuhhh?? Only $2!!!???". I counted the 11for him, then he says to me "$3, not $2... Before this place opened, we'd make the trip to the fountain valley location. When we heard of this one opening closer we were stoked! They only buy things for a fraction of what ebay sells for. (seriously that is their reference point) so if you think you'll get rich by selling, you wont. In order to get deals in here you gotta go often. Never buy from here. I purchased two items from this store only to find out that they were damaged when I got home. I contacted the store, explaining the situation, and was advised to call back tomorrow to speak with the manager. When I informed them that I wouldn't be able to return within the one-day return policy, they claimed that the manager had made exceptions in the past. However, I called the next day only to be told that the manager had never made any exceptions before, even though they were the ones responsible for the damaged items. Date visited: 3-30-2024 It was a rainy day so the family decided to go thrifting. We had a plan to visit like 5 spots throughout Orange County. Our second stop was Eco Town in Santa Ana. It is in a strip mall so there is plenty of parking. My 2 kids, husband, brother and I all walked in the entrance. The security beeper at the doors went off as we walked in and the visit went sideways fast from there. A small security guard (looking very disinterested and possibly under the influence) was leaning on the counter and looked at me and said "whatchu got" (in a street type accent) I was confused since it was going off as we ENTERED not as we exited the store but I humored him with a response. I said "well I don't know, what sets these things off?" I had an umbrella and my purse. He said "put the umbrella here" and made me put my umbrella behind the counter. All the while my family is standing there at the entrance. As an anecdotal response, my brother started to talk to security guard and explain that he recently bought something online and there was a security tag left on it when he received it and he kept setting off beepers at other stores. The guard looked at him and said "well I don't know, whatchu got?" My brother then explained to the guard that this interaction is very strange and almost threatening as if we did something wrong just by walking in. And it really was... getting questioned as we enter was not great. At this point the guard should have taken a moment to explain what could set it off. Was it the umbrella, my phone, my credit cards, my airpods, my workbadge?? Who the heck knows! My brother was clearly offended by the interaction and said this is ridiculous we should leave and the guard said "fine have a good day". I got my umbrella back, and we all walked out. We did break etiquette briefly and called him a little punk and that was wrong but it was seriously an icky interaction. We never got more than 3 steps into the store! It was wild!! Really unfortunate too because my brother frequents this spot and the Fountain Valley spot. I think that the situation could have been handled so much more professionally and the outcome would have been completely opposite but as it stands right now, we will not be going back to this location. I would urge the owners to investigate the security guards they are employing and ensure that they are educated on how to handle social interactions with tact and professionalism within the stores guidelines.
