My experience with EcoShield was the worst absolute experience I have ever had with a business. I started with Orkin and should have stayed with them. I initially opened an account with Ecoshield in July and four months later they are still struggling to get it right. Initially, a technician came to my house and persuaded me to switch to EcoShield because they are a small local business. I am always down for supporting local small businesses. I told him the reason I needed the services were for roaches but that I recently had the property sprayed. They stated they would treat the outside and send a inspector to confirm what I actually needed. That never happened. They continued to schedule my appointments to have my yard sprayed at times that I could not be home and I had to cancel because this wasn't what I needed. I asked for a Saturday appoint in which they cancelled and rescheduled, yet again on a date and time I didn't agree to that I could not be home for. I cancelled the appoint on their automated system since I hadn't even had an inspector come out at that point. They sent yet again, a technician to spray my yard anyway. Again, not treating the actual problem. Since I was not home, they sprayed the front yard and charged me $200. I called and spoke to a rep who told me they would have someone call. Someone called and left a message saying they would send someone out to my property even though I continuously asked that they explicitly discuss a time and date with a rep so I could be home. They gave me a 3-5 pm window. The person who called to say they were on the way at 1:30 pm was an inspector. Shouldn't they have sent the inspector before spraying again? They sprayed my yard twice. Both of which did not address the actual issue and the inspector was going to come to my house only after I paid $400 to treat things I did not need treated. Hmm? The initial technicians disregarded what I needed, the people who provide customer care disregarded my needs, their automated system failed to cancel my appointment. The inspector at least was understanding when we spoke on the phone, but everyone else was just inept and failed to follow through. In the end, all this company cared about was making the sale. Finally, when I called customer care yet again to cancel my services because I was tired of the back and forth and not getting the service I actually needed, the representative continued to disregard my request to cancel. I was friendly on the phone but spent 15 minutes explaining I didn't want their service anymore. The rep continued talking about how I needed to stay with the company. I became so annoyed I just hung up on the representative who didn't seem to understand. She called me back to leave me a voice mail that for canceling the services I would be charged another $150. So $550 later, I never recieved services for what I actually needed from this company, WHO IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM, small business or not! read more

I have been with this company for over a year and I've asked them not to come to my home unless I am there. They show up anyways and do not perform the service they are paid to do. On one occasion the gentleman pulled onto my lot and was caught on a ring door system just sitting in his truck the entire 15 minutes and then he left but they charged me $183 for a service that was not performed. Another occasion two different technician teams showed up at two different times one saying the bait traps need to be here the other team saying the bait traps need to be somewhere else, then another team shows up and places the bait traps back to the place of first team had placed them saying that the second team didn't know what they're talking about. On another occasion they had come and did an inspection of my basement and wanted me to replace my entire barrier system for approximate $2,400 being that my house is only 8 years old I refuse that and so another technician contacted me and he was supposed to show up to do a treatment when he didn't show up I called the company and they stated they'd have him call me, when he did call he tried to play off like he had been there and did the treatment, basically he was caught in a lie, now that he's aware that I know he's lying to me he tried to play it off that he was looking at his paperwork and that he had gotten called out to another assignment and would contact me with a new appointment ...never happened. Now we are to this last appointment when they notified me that I had an upcoming service appointment I contacted the company and told them not to send out a technician until I talked to the manager well he showed up anyways I watched him get out of his truck with his duster only, he walked around my house got back in his truck and sat in my driveway for approximately 10 minutes when I saw him put his vehicle in reverse and was leaving I went out there asked him his name, Steve, and told him in a not so nice way to get off my property, I informed him that I had watched him perform my service I let him know I do not appreciate being ripped off. Called the company and finally after several games of phone tag I talked to somebody in the local office in Denver I assume by the name of Daniel who his ideal of handling the situation was to validate the performance of his technician saying that they are honest by using the GPS locator and time spent on my property,, hmmm I had already mentioned to him that the ring doorbell shows him just sitting in his truck for 15 minutes before the technician had left on another occasion. He didn't accuse me of cursing at him which I never did. My opinion of this company is they cannot be trusted their technicians cannot be trusted to perform their duties without being supervised by the homeowner ..do not use this company, if you do make sure that you are home and that they do their job. A young man (introduced himself as Jason) knocked on our door at 7:00 P.M. to let us know that he was spraying for pests next door. Though I was a bit annoyed that he came to our door so late in the day, I initially was appreciative, as I believed he was simply looking out for any kids or pets that might wander onto the treated areas next door. However, it wasn't long before he was pitching me. Against my best instincts, I allowed him to look around my garage door, as he claimed that they just found black widow spiders a couple doors down and that the area around garage doors was the place to find them. Well, it wasn't long before he found what he determined to be 'some kind of widow spider' based on the construction of some web near the door. A western widow, then a northern widow, etc. There were egg sacs which he also said were most certainly widow spider eggs, but they weren't quite ready to hatch so we had time to have them over the next day to service the area. He found the spider and attempted to show me some evidence that it was the species he said it was, but then he crushed it in the process. As we continued looking, we found another spider that he said was a widow spider of some sort. He showed me pictures in his phone in an attempt to ID it, but when I pressed to show me a picture of a spider online to conclusively ID it as a northern widow or brown widow as he called it (he named at least three or four different species during the conversation), he fell short of any proof. We then looked in my back yard as well as the basement looking for widow spiders but found nothing. As this went on, he became increasingly impatient. Upon returning to the garage, he asked in an agitated voice "So what are we gonna do here?" I explained that I couldn't justify the expense of the service (as I recall, over 800 dollars for a multi-visit contract) until he could provide some proof that any of the spiders we observed were dangerous. He then tried to apply a scare tactic, now saying that the egg sacs by the door could burst open at any minute. I welcomed him to return on their next visit to the area, promising that if I found any dangerous species they would certainly get my business; to that he angrily replied "That's not going to happen" and then went on to complain that I had somehow wasted an hour of his time (even though HE was the one who came to MY front door uninvited at 7:00 P.M. and wasted MY time chasing harmless spiders around the garage with flashlights). Needless to say, I didn't entertain his presence for too long after that. Shortly after he left, I did my own research only to discover that the second spider we captured (the one he didn't crush) very much looked like one of the 'false black widow spiders,' specifically Steatoda triangulosa. The species is harmless, indeed preys on black widows, is quite common in our region, is very distinctive visually, and would almost certainly be known to any local pest control professional. I therefore believe that he intentionally misled me (as well as applying scare tactics and substantial pressure) in order to make a sale. The pushiness and rudeness would have been bad enough to justify a review of this kind, but the apparent attempt to commit fraud is impossible for me to ignore in good conscience having seen that this company continues to 'serve' (or, in my opinion, rip off) my neighbors. My neighbor across the street had an encounter with the same individual, and said that he had to tell the guy multiple times in an increasingly firm manner that he wasn't interested before the solicitation finally ceased. A sales rep was canvassing our Broomfield neighborhood today. Told him I was NOT interested 3 times. Wouldn't leave my property. Yelled at him to leave and he still wouldn't. Then the ProShield rep threatened me. Well, it's game on now... you're not going to physically threaten me on my property when I asked you multiple times to leave. I offered the ProShield coward with the big mouth the first shot. He wouldn't take it. Instead, the ProShield rep started dropping f-bombs, calling me a b_tch, a f_ggot, a p_ssy, yelling at me that I need to get laid. Broomfield police is very familiar with this outfit. Told me they've had multiple calls on them and had to kick them out of neighborhoods before with "no soliciting" signs posted. read more

Austin from Proshield knocked on our door at 8:45 PM on a Saturday night to try and sell us pest control services. At that point it was completely dark outside. He approached on a scooter with a light on it so it appeared that someone was shining a light into our front door. It scared the heck out of my wife. Austin said he was trying to win a trip to Thailand. While I appreciate his initiative, it is outrageous to be selling stuff door to door at night. Our kids are grown, but between Austin and our dogs, he could have easily woken them up (or our grandkids). Needless to say we won't be doing business with Proshield. I expect people that I hire, especially those that work around our home, to exercise good judgment and to be respectful. Austin did neither. read more

Was blatantly lied to at the door by Geno. He specifically said I will not be billed for any other charges other than the first and second service, I told him I would just like one service done and he said he could do it today. He then said if I want another service next month he would be willing to do it for $25 additional from the initial $75 for the first visit. I paid cash upfront ($100) as I made it VERY clear I did not want recurring payments or services after the second visit. He assured me of this, as I was unable to read the small print on the tablet he had presented. Jokes on me for trying to help a supposed local company during a pandemic. Lesson learned. I have contacted management multiple times. First I spoke with John and addressed my concerns to him, he said he would clear my account of any balance. I kept getting invoices sent to me for my outstanding balance and then called back into management. I spoke with Angie at this point and she was not willing to wave the account balance after I was told by John this would happen. Angie then said she would lower the cancellation fee to $50, I laughed at her and told her to send me the invoice. The invoice was then sent 2 months later. This company is fraudulent and completely misleading. After reading multiple (hundreds) reviews with the exact same complaints (fraudulent and misleading transactions) I decided to go one step further and file a complaint with the Colorado Attorney General's Office, I encourage other victims to do the same. First the corporate billing office is horrible to deal with nothing but rude people they don't care about anything you have to say they want money. But yet they say we signed a contract and they have yet to still email us the contract we supposedly signed. I have asked for a manager or higher up personal to call me back they say they will but then they don't I have sent multiple emails text messages as am done talking with the customer agents as they hang up on you and are rude. Also we were told we can cancel anytime with no penalties that's not the case we also told them we do t want them to come out and they still did and ended up placing my dad into the hospital we told them why and they still can out. The other reason they said they can't spray out side but yet we are still to pay full price they have a lot of clouded and inaccurate information left out. Caution to anyone who plans on using this service. Double check everything the salesperson tells you. I was told several lies by the salesperson that came to my door ultimately leading me to sign a contract that I shouldn't have and wasting hundreds of dollars. I was told it was a once a season service which to me means once a year but to them means 5x a year (they should explain this thoroughly instead of let you assume) so I was expecting to pay $189 a year when in fact it is $945 a year. I was also told I had black widow eggs in my garage and when the technician came over he assured me they were not. I would not have agreed to the service if the salesperson had not scared me into believing I had a black widow problem. Just know what you're getting into and fact check them on everything. I just signed up with EcoShield and was happy with the Sales Rep, However, went downhill fast after that. A tech was suppose to do a job today (8/3/22) from 9-11 AM and were a no call, no show. I even have a text confirming appointment. I called the office and was told that my appointment was from 1-3. I explained that was not the appointment I had. Was placed on hold for almost 30 mins with an excuse that they were trying to get a hold of the tech. I advised that I wanted to cancel my contact since I was not happy with the service and the fact they could not even talk to me or keep me informed. In August 2023, I agreed to 1 round of pest control for my home which required 3 months of spraying around my house to effectively kill all 3 life stages of the bugs. I affirmed several times with the sales person that I only wanted the 1 treatment/3 rounds, i didn't want to sign a contract or be tied to an extended service. I was assured that I was only signing up for 1 treatment. After the 3 treatments, I got a phone call in November asking to set up the next round of treatments. I told them I didn't agree to anything beyond that 3 month program (1 round). I went round and round with the customer service rep saying that I didn't want any more services. They told me that what I signed was a contract committing me to a year of services. I refused the service and said that's not what I commiteed to. They proceeded to tell me I had to pay $150 to break the contact. I have ignored the $150 bills they've sent me and in the last 7 weeks they have turned me over to collections which has affected my credit score. I have filed a complaint with the Colorado attorney general and posted negative reviews every place I can find. BUYER BEWARE! read more

The guy came to my door, ignoring not only my no soliciting sign but also the no soliciting sign at the entrance to our housing tract. He was a fast talker, kept throwing out names of my nearby neighbors, obviously made up names because I know almost all of my nearby neighbors and none of those names rang a bell. He also claimed the neighbors two houses down have chickens and that the bugs will get to my house, I know these people personally and they don't have chickens. I think this company banks on people not knowing their neighbors and are scammers. I also hate pressure tactics to try to get a sale. Like try to get me to feel like I need to book NOW to get this low price. I was caught by a pushy salesperson pitch who was using tricks like "your neighbors have spotted spiders and bugs" or "we are in the neighborhood and have some vacant timeslot for you" stories and signed a 12-month contract with very shady conditions. My bad - you need to read carefully what you sign. What was looking like a great deal appeared to be 4x times more expensive because suddenly appeared they are going to charge you quarterly. And you cannot just cancel the contract - you need to pay back all the so-called discounts they have provided. Foul play. This lesson cost me money and, to some extent, "peace of mind". ***BE CAREFUL FRIENDS*** Ecoshield can talk a big talk but they do not deliver, at least for my family. We were told so many wonderful things from one of their sales members, Byron, and have been so disappointed to find that they do not deliver on their service as promised. Twice when we reached out to get service for a new pest ("between quarterly visits, if you ever need anything, we will be right out") the message didn't even make it to the office to set up a visit and when we called the office they could not send anyone out sooner than 2 weeks. When you have wasps on your house or a colony of ants show up, you want to know that the company you pay to service you, will prioritize their time to show up. The salesman went on and on about how they are different than your average pest control team; went as far as to say they bury traps under the ground to eradicate entire nests, which we later found out is not true at all. They promise an elite service unlike their top competitors, that is why you will pay twice as much, but the service they deliver is far from elite and I feel like an absolute fool.
