Sketchy and pushy. My husband fell for their "we were just in the neighborhood and someone cancelled" story. Unfortunately, I found out after he had already given them a credit card number to book an appointment "that same day and they would be back in an hour." I couldn't believe it. Anyway, after we discussed how shady this all sounded, my husband called the company and asked to cancel. They tried hard to get him to stay on the phone. They never even asked his name but said ok they would cancel. So I asked him to also email to ensure they know not return. Well, a few hours later, he got an email saying they would be back on site between 5-8 pm. To which he replied saying that he had already cancelled! Now I feel like they are going to be relentlessly bothering us and trying to sneak in some work. What a pain. To the business owner: if you were to do honest, good work, you would get repeat business through word of mouth. Instead you resort to harassing homeowners. What a joke. If we continue being bothered or see anyone from your company on our property, you're going to get more than a Yelp review. read more

Like many of these reviews, someone from this company came to my door to sell me on the service. They did pull the "we're doing work in the neighborhood" card, but lucky for them, I recently discovered we had mice in our basement, so I was OK listening to the pitch. I asked several questions before signing anything, and the staff member told me it was a 12-month agreement. They didn't hide that. I also read what I was signing, so the fees weren't a surprise. ProShield finished their 4th service on our house today, and we're happy with the overall service. We no longer find mice droppings, all of the wasp nests are gone from our backyard, and we haven't seen a spider or beetle in 6+ months. They also automatically schedule their follow-up appointments and text me when they're coming, which makes my life easier. read more

What a racquet! I see others are having the same issues I am now. I too had a pushy salesman come to my door and ignore the no soliciting sign on my front screen door. I stupidly took the bait of his conversation and signed up for what I thought was a 1x cost of $179 for the year. I asked the salesman Christian multiple times about the cost and next time we would be charged. He said not until next year. When I had them out for the second round of treatment (what they call the egg cycle) they sent me a receipt for a second visit, also $179. I called Christian and he said it was every "season" and not the year he had said to me on the day I bought from him. Now I'm dealing with their terrible customer service team that is in a call center in Samoa. Please do not give this terrible company your business and look for better, local company. read more

Terrible, predatory company. I stupidly fell for the line "so and so in your neighborhood uses us" I had an ant problem and had already had it under control but figured it would not hurt to have another avenue to battle them. Big mistake - first service was not even half done. I got a $50 credit for the issues, and then told 6 weeks later my next quarterly was due. 6 weeks is not a quarter. Supposedly came out (never saw them) then get a notification of an invoice for $169. I took my cc off of my account before they could charge me. Thank goodness I did - they never applied the credit. I kept getting harassed by them about paying yet I notified them three times, in writing, that my invoice was wrong. They claim I have no credit after I finally answered their call - thankfully I kept the text stating I had it. My invoice is still wrong and they want to charge me for canceling after their half done service and lack of response on issues. Stay far, far away! read more

Only 30 days after the initial service, they said it was time for the "quarterly" service which was another $179. Warned neighbors about this gentleman/ProShield solicitor in my neighborhood today. He lied about having a truck right there to do a treatment today. He lied about being in the area because my neighbor "Joseph" called him and lied about my neighbor having a pest problem. He wasn't wearing a mask. Most people knock and step away from the door (even before the stress on social distancing). He put his foot in my doorway after I answered the door which made me feel threatened. I said I wasn't interested and he asked if he could see my backyard. No business cards was another red flag. I didn't have many pests before I signed up for their service but I did have wasps and gnats outside. They had an outside only option so I thought let's try it. I signed a years contract, which included an extra charge for an extra treatment. It wasn't mention until the contract was being written up but I went ahead. I didn't notice a difference with the exterior pests. My biggest complaint is that cancelling the service after the 1st year was a chore for me, the paying customer. I called a week before my final application and was told I needed to call back after the last treatment. There were too many questions about why and all they could do for me during this call. Fast forward and I called after my last treatment. I was put on hold 4 times every time I said I wanted to cancel. More questions which I answered every time with I want to cancel, I no longer want your service. After almost 10 minutes they said they cancelled me service. I began receiving "bills" from EcoShield, but have never used their services. On their bill there was no service date, no account number, no due date, and no explanation of services rendered. They say that they have emailed and texted a couple times, but I have never received any communication from them other than the suspect looking "bill." It did have a threat that if I didn't pay they would send it to collections. Since I have never used their services I thought it was a scam and disregarded it. I called him and now I am being hounded by the company. I was told it would cost a dollar to cancel. It looked like I paid that, obviously I didn't. I called to cancel and was placed on hold with customer service and NOBODY picks up the line. This is not a legitimate company-now I am getting multiple texts, emails to tell them why I don't want their service even though I told them. I am sure the salesman keep my credit card info too. My wife and I paid for the quarterly service because we had problems with yellow jackets and spiders. They charge $175 every time they come out but they're around for 5 minutes. Buried in the fine print of their service is a $150 cancellation fee for cancelling their service before 9 months. Horrible, dishonest business practices and an overall unethical company. Although the young door to door salesman was pleasant, this is definitely a scam. I'm in the business of supplying an ecologically safe EPA approved fertility control product and deal with the pest management professionals industry directly. ProShield's "pitch" is that they use environmentally safe products for rodent eradication that won't harm your pets. That's BS !!! Rodenticides are poison; play and simple. When I asked what that product was he stammered trying to tell me it's essentially an anticoagulant. An animal who eats enough rodents that have been treated with anticoagulants will die. PERIOD. Dogs and small children are also susceptible to poisoning if they consume. I have spoken with a few Pest Management Professionals who are ethical; emphasis on "few". This company took advantage of my senior dad in the Littleton/Centennial/Greenwood Village Colorado area who has dementia, and they took liberties to make the sale and get him into contract. Nalu and his crew did the following: 1) went with him into his house upstairs and had my dad log onto his own personal computer so they could set up his account (Unbelievable! When I talked to my dad on the phone about who was at his house, he told me it was someone to fix the phone lines. It seems they made him very confused about what was going on and why they needed to get onto his computer.) 2) Nalu had Ecoshield send my dad a text message, then they asked to use his cell phone and replied 'yes' on his behalf so my dad would initiate service. Then Nalu lied to me about using my dad's phone and said he was insulted that I would slander him in that way. When I explained to him that my dad has never sent a text message in his entire life, and I was curious how Nalu would explain the 'yes' message being sent, there was no further dialogue. When I sent several texts asking Nalu to please cancel the contract, it was crickets. I had to call the main number and ask for the contract to be cancelled, and only then did Nalu start communicating again. Oh, and all of the black widows and eggs they claimed to have found in my dad's garage couldn't be shown to us because they dispose of them right away. Proshield Pest WARNING. Just another warning to everyone. Pro Shield Pest is one of the most unethical businesses I have ever encountered. They came to our house and were nice enough. Did some basic spraying. Then had a "technician" come by two days later to check on the work. He proceeded to tell my wife we had a rat infestation in our basement, show fake pictures of our crawl space, say that there was likely disease being spread by all of these rats, and generally put the fear of God into her. He then said it would cost $4900 to fix this. I laughed when I heard this number and immediately called our normal exterminator. He laughed and explained it was a scam but that he'd come take a look. After checking, it was all a total scam. Now, almost two weeks later, our basement smells like horrible chemicals and you can't even go down into it. Have to get deep steam cleaning of carpets and hope it goes away. I got a call from the "Operations" manager at Proshield two days after saying he was dismayed and sorry about this experience and he would look into it and then call me back today. Instead of calling back today, he texts and asks me to explain how anything they did was unethical. It's a long list of things based on the above. Never ever work with this company. read more

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. The customer service for this company is a joke and has wasted so much of my time, blatantly lied to me, and refuses to resolve my issue. I called to cancel my service and talked to a customer service representative, after going through the normal really annoying high pressure please don't cancel pitch, they said alright everything is canceled, you are done. Well turns out the person didn't cancel my account and I still got scheduled for my next service. They came and serviced my property even after I canceled and then charged me for it. The way the service works is they get out for their car and just do the service, they don't ask you about it, so the tech just did it and left. I called customer support and explained the situation and the representative said oh I'm sorry, we'll take the charge off of your account. Well, turns out they didn't actually do anything and I am still getting billed, another blatant lie. I've since called customer support and talked to them for a long time and they said they would have to call me back, guess what, they didn't call me back. I've wasted so much time trying to deal with this at this point. This is absolutely crazy. They put put a couple of traps and disappear. Backed by tons of texts and 888 calls while you're at work. I've been in the same property for eleven years. I've always managed my own pests a 100 times better than this service and that's bare minimum stuff. I have four kids- a german Shepard and a 60 plus hour nursing on my feet gig. I needed help. This seems almost fake. Like. Do the traps even have anything in them and I don't think they sprayed. High bug load. Spider load. Way more moths- fatter happier mice. Like I didn't do any pest control. Too expensive. Can't get in contact with them. You can do this on your own with a 14 dollar trip to Home Depot maybe 20 bucks and without weird dudes canvassing the hood with even weirder dudes coming to put traps in your cabinets! Lame. Don't.
