With the tropical storm Helene, I was trying to do a good deed and I purchased a room for a truck driver that was delivering supplies to Marion VA for disaster relief. He had been driving for 19 hrs due to having issues with his U-Haul truck and needed a place to sleep for a few hours. The hotel owner said $100.00 plus tax. I signed the receipt, and left. The next day I looked at my bank account and the hotel owner charged my account another $200.00 totaling $313.00!!! He said the driver smoked in the room, the driver is a NON SMOKER! I know this due to my family hosting a dinner for him. DO NOT STAY HERE!! I WAS DEFINATLY TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF...He promised a refund and never stood true to his word. ***EDIT****The owner has since refunded the amount back to me. read more

Accessible single queen room had adequate space but the bed was hard, the WiFi didn't connect to Internet and there was no receptacle in the bathroom near the sink and mirror - there was one outside the bathroom where there was a shallow counter and another mirror. During the night there was a plumbing leak upstairs and in the morning water was dripping from the ceiling onto our belongings on the counter and the floor was wet. I asked if they would comp the room charge for the night for all the problems we had with the water but they only refunded 50%. read more

It's okay. We stayed here before and had a good experience, this time it was a little different. First, we had 5 adults, they said the only room available was 2 double beds. (This is a small town.... and it was an empty parking lot) Which means 3 of us would have to share a bed. It wasn't a big enough bed for 3 people, but since we only were staying for one night we just dealt with it. Second, I'm not usually picky about how place look as long as it's clean, but in this place, the bathroom really needs to be updated, it's so old and ugly looking. Last complaint , the stink bugs. We had to throw like 5 stink bugs out of the room, they were all over and in the rooms of other guests too. Idk how they control that better but no one wants to sleep in a stink bug filled room. Ok the positive side, it was decent overall, good price. I liked that there were 4 outlets on the nightstand, convenient for charging phones. The breakfast was continental, so not sure why it said "hot" breakfast. (waffles, cereal, gravy (it was cold despite being in a crockpot type thing), muffins, bread, bagels, biscuits, juice). I enjoyed the breakfast just cause I love waffle makers. Lol read more

Not Choice hotel quality! We decided to drive until we got sleepy on our way to Maryland. When we were ready to find a hotel we didn't need luxury, just a nice clean bed to get a few hours sleep. There were two hotels off of the interstate and we chose this one since we are Choice members. The sheets were probably the only thing the maid did clean. When we tried to plug our chargers into the wall to charge our phones the charger fell out of every outlet we tried except the bathroom one. The toilet paper and the towels were rough. Not as rough as sandpaper but definitely not soft. There was hair on the wall in front of the sink. It was a good thing we don't drink coffee because there was old coffee in the filter to the coffee pot from the guests before us. All of this would have been more acceptable if we paid $30 to $40 but I expected more from a $70 a night hotel. read more

My car broke down stuck in the winter storm. Stayed for 2 days. Management very polite. The place is very clean well kept.

Very clean! Comfortable beds, cold AC. No complaints. Price was good and very quiet at night. Would stay here again.

I would not go to this place. I used to go there regularly until the manager there told me what I believe is a lie and ripped me off. I found out from the chain that they are part of that they Don't enforce quality standards or care if customers are properly treated. The chain's customer service department was stupid enough to put that statement in writing to me. The result for that establishment has cost them several thousand dollars in revenue for a disagreement over about a an eighty dollar difference in what I believe the rate should have been if the management had been honest with me. Clearly this place does not care about regular customers. There loss, not my loss. read more

The customer service here was out of this world. I'm thru hiking the AT and have been in and out of my share of hotels, econos includes and this by far had the nicest, most accommodating staff I've encountered at a hotel...period. Karen and Virl were friendly, funny and helped with shuttling us to and fro along with various other odd job requests that thruhikers need. God bless these kind people of Marion, VA... one of a kind. read more

This place has gone WAY downhill from what it used to be. From our front door not closing tightly, beds hard as rocks, dirty bed sheets, holes near the vanity where there used to be a towel holder and more! Definitely not worth the money they are charging. Also I think choice hotels should have a standard of appearance enforced because this hotel looks like it's barely holding on and is in disrepair. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU CAN! read more

Who cares if it's dated? It's still the cleanest and best hotel in Marion VA. We went to every single hotel/motel and most of them were run down and family owned. I didn't understand how they stayed in business. One didn't even have working lights in the room.. It was that bad. Econo Lodge is a palace compared to the others. It was clean and there were no bed bugs when we stayed. It's also pretty quiet and off the road a bit. I have family in Marion and will stay here again. read more

Nice customer service, comfortable accommodations, clean, affordable. Somewhere close to train tracks though because around 1:30 am I thought my alarm clock was going off. Overall, not bad. read more

It was clean but very dated. The front desk person was very friendly. The free breakfast is laughable, we walked in and walked out. I would have a hard time recommending this place to anyone. Pretty pricey for what it is. read more

My son had an unplanned overnight stay at this Econolodge after a car accident. The staff were pleasant, responsive and nice. The room was clean; the bed was comfortable and they are pet-friendly. Also, the General Manager was very accommodating and helpful; assisting us with getting my son's car towed. The GM went over and above his call of duty. Highly recommend this Econolodge. read more

When we booked this place because it was the only hotel within 75 miles of Bristol, TN that allowed 1 night reservations on the weekend of the Food City 500, I had my reservations. It turns out, they were right. Never mind they jacked up the price to double what it probably normally is and charged extra because 3 people were staying in the room. The accommodations were so awful you had to laugh. The only saving grace was the staff who were kind and courteous. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Rooms looked like a SHIT HOLE. pay the extra $10 and go to a chain hotel. Got there and the last persons trash was in our trash. Checked for bugs everywhere. Blankets ripped and holy. Lights were barely "on" Horrible. read more
