Sink very outdated and the water plunger missing

Pictures on the website are very misleading. Cheap enough to stay here but there's a reason for it. Smells funky just walking into the lobby. EVERYTHING needs to be updated from the lobby to the rooms themselves. If it wasn't for the fact that the employees were great and there wasn't any bed bugs, I wouldn't even rate this hotel. Outside in the foyer there's a sign says no smoking but 100 butt's on the ground. Advertises breakfast and there is none. Advertised a gym and there is none. Room completely out dated. Choice Hotels should be embarrassed to have this place still open. They do house a few homeless people. They weren't a bother though. Maybe this is why no gym and no breakfast

Don't get your hopes up. Yes, it is lower priced ( low being relative at more than $200 a night) than most other chain facilities in Ithaca. But there is a reason for that. First the ok-good points. Fairly comfortable bed. That's about it. Air Conditioning kept things cool as well but the noise it made made sleep difficult. Discounting the fist-sized dent hole in the bathroom door was prevented by looking in the bathroom. Yes, it was clean after I discovered that the marks and scrapes in the sink and tub were just the finish being totally worn off. No coffee available, no breakfast. The exercise room is closed. I suggest looking elsewhere.

    Dirty towels?

This hotel made me nervous when I booked on Hotels.com but I was trying to be budget conscious when on a college tour w my child. I even "up graded" so the budget was not inexpensive... I knew that scrolling to find a non smoking room was a bad sign of what was to come. When we arrived I had to initial that I wouldn't smoke in the room... when I walked in the sheets and covers were holy with cigarette burns. The towels were brown with stains and the remote was lost in a trash can sitting a brown liquid. I would never take my shoes off... the bathroom is a whole new story too. To the front desk credit... they did clean the trash can, brought clean towels and a clean remote. They offered a small credit for the trouble.

came here august 2023 and it was amazingly bad. Holes in walls. entry smelt of mildew. Rooms smelt badly of cigarette smoke. Stains all over carpets . bed mattress holder had tears in fabric . carpets not up to edge of wall and unpainted brown plaster showing. never seen anything this bad - I thought it was a condemned building dressed up as a joke.

RUN!!!! These yelp pictures are so deceiving and nothing like the place looks in person. There were stains on essentially every surface including mattresses, sheets, pillow cases, etc. The bathroom is disgusting, rotting wood, hairs in the bathtub blood stains? The door looked like it had been violently kicked in multiple times and the room smelt like moldy cigarettes. For $130 a night this is a joke and I wouldn't pay $10 to stay here.

Staying here because got the room for 80$ in Groupon/ I was scared!!! Because of the mixed reviews plus I'm traveling alone w my 9/14 boys. Lady in the front desk pretty decent, hotel is in a deserted strip mall ( or maybe it is deserted because is Saturday?). Smells like an old hotel but once I saw the room I was at ease. Clean bathroom and room, ac working good and quiet. Breakfast was great! Eggs/sausage/bacon/ pancakes/ cereals/ juices/ yogurt..

Better than sleeping in your car. Dirty rugs, thin walls, squeaky doors so forget about it if you want to sleep late. The staff was nice.

Why not five stars? Dang, the traffic outside easily permeated the room I was in. Like it felt like staying in Manhattan it was so loud outside. Worse is I swear there is some sort truck route or nearby business that is truck-centric and they are all driving with empty beds that amplify the imperfections in the road -- just banging away all through downtown. I realize Marriott cannot control this, but for that reason, a lower rating.

After talking to us like we've never used a TV before and totally condescending he finally admitted that the internet at the hotel is terrible. And then they said we couldn't log into Netflix cause we didnt have a premium Netflix account cause the device doesn't support it. Basically they left it broken and said there was nothing they could do and were absolutely irritated that we even asked for the TV to work. We called the front desk to ask to speak with a manager and we were very calm and polite about it and they hung up on us. They gave us supplies for ONE cup of coffee for two people staying for two nights. We also had to pay for parking. For over $500/night I would expect a lot better service. I've had better service (and a working TV) at an $86/night Budget Hotel.

The pic below is just one of at least 12 places where you can sit in total silence and write. There were gazebos, benches, nooks inside, a tent covered breakfast area outside and that's before you get to the fireside camps where other people were "glamping" but hotel people can go sit by one of 12 fire pits! I also went out there during the day and took a nap on a leather couch in an outside tent covered living room in TOTAL SILENCE. Well not total silence. There were birds, frogs, and crickets. There were people if you wanted people (and I met two dogs!) but what struck me was the absolutely silence and solitude I could find. I desperately needed it, and I've NEVER found it like this before. If you go and don't want a balcony, room 104 is the quietest. There's a double door (room and hallway) so any children screaming in delight or adults laughing in the common area is blocked twice. Oh! And there's a trail head to buttermilk falls on property and it's right across from a Buddhist temple which just adds to the ambience. Plus the most delicious food and cider and lake views are found in Ithaca. If you need this, GO.

They offer a daily hot breakfast buffet from 6 AM to 10 AM. It has things like bacon, sausage and gravy, danishes, and sausages. The dining area also doubles as the business center. It is spacious and clean. The hotel is in a convenient location. Made my daily commute to Cornell quick and easy. There are also many shops nearby. Our room was equipped with a small refrigerator and a microwave so we stocked up at Trader Joe's so we would have good food in our room. There is a market in the lobby that has chips, snacks, drinks, and some microwave foods. They do not sell alcohol. Parking is plentiful, easy, and free. Two bits of constructive crticism. The elevators smell horrible. There is a strange chemical smell. If you've ever gotten your hair permed, it's similar to that, and it is strong! Also, our room wasn't super clean. It looked like it hadn't been vacuumed at all and the shower was mildewy. The staff was quick to take care of anything we needed though! We would stay here again.

At check in, which was 6pm, I asked if they were able to honor my profile request of a higher floor and away from the elevator and was told from a completely blasé front desk person they didn't honor those requests and were fully booked. Considering I booked 5 months ago, seemed odd to me. He put us on the second of four floors in 211 which was directly across from the elevator and beside and below a utility closet. The worst case scenario. After trying unsuccessfully to question if this was the only remaining room like this in the entire hotel - I gave up and resigned myself to my almost $375 a night hotel room fate. The room was gross. Sticky carpet and stains all over it. Water damage and stains on the walls, holes on the walls unpatched. Scuffs everywhere. No soap in the bathroom soap dispenser. The lights by the bed didn't work to turn off the room lights above and by the tv as intended and one of the lights was completely missing the switch so could not be used at all. The only saving grace was the breakfast which was actually pretty nice. Well stocked and with egg white and cheese omelets, juice, cereal and oatmeal. Partnered with another recent Holiday Inn Express experience in Baltimore where we showed up at 8pm after an 8+ hour travel day from Iceland and they said they just didn't have the room we'd booked months ahead available at all, I'll be marking this hotel brand off my list entirely. Never again.
