Since we did not know enough to evaluate the proposal he provided after his review, we talked with someone we knew who was volunteering with a climate advocacy group in this area. He suggested we contact Mohammed at Home Energy Solutions for an energy audit. We did so and were able to schedule it very quickly with Mohammed spending a great deal of time doing a thorough inspection of our three attics and our many windows and doors. We were surprised at just how bad the situation was in general air leakage, in the ductwork, and in the insulation over one part of our house where, from the pictures Mohammed took, it looked like a raccoon had gotten into the attic and torn up the insulation. When Mohammed sent us a contract to fully insulate our three attics, removing the insulation in parts, sealing the edges and around lights, and more, and we had a ton of questions, he promptly responded with clarifying information and willingness to adjust the work and add on caulking our windows and weatherstripping a door and more. Also, the price was most reasonable -- significantly less than the other company with more items included. He then scheduled the work at our convenience and his team of three, led by Eric, arrived promptly at 8 AM and worked hard until 5:30 pm. In the 53 years we have been in the house we have done about five major remodeling jobs/additions, and a whole bunch more of minor improvements. We have been very happy with most of the firms and workers, and a couple less so. Of all the crews that have worked in our home, Eric and his team were outstanding in every way -- so helpful, courteous, hardworking, quiet, neat, patient in answering questions, and so much more!!! They cleaned up afterwards and it was great to wake up this morning and feel the notable difference in the especially leaky part of the house. He was going to charge another $595 for another full audit, I asked for a discount and he said no. He said its not needed as he has all the information. When I agreed, he emails me back the following day to cancel because I had previously hired another provider due to Budget reasons. I find it disappointing that service would be refused based on my past decision to explore other options. This approach doesn't reflect the level of customer care I would expect.

Brian's a great guy--knowledgeable, honest, responsive, and easy to work with. He clearly explained what was needed, what was optional, and why. He showed exactly where the insulation and air-sealing problems were, giving me complete confidence in his recommendations. There was no pressure to add unnecessary work, and everything stayed within budget. Work included removing old attic insulation, extensive air sealing, insulating the attic to R-60, sealing the attic hatch, adding insulation to vaulted ceilings, and spray-foaming problem areas and a cantilever. The team did an incredible job. I was especially impressed with how thoroughly they cleaned up afterward. I misunderstood Pepco's home audit offer, and Pascale misunderstood that I had already used Pepco's rebate. She made an appointment promptly, showed up 5 minutes early. She checked the house and attic insulation and her able assistant was setting up all the heavy equipment for the blow test when she discovered that I was no longer eligible for the discount. I took a deep breath and said I could pay the full price. She said no, I didn't need it, and after looking at my Pepco usage history, said that my air conditioner needed compressor fluid and I could benefit from a timer on my dehumidifier. She repeatedly refused any payment, after giving me the advice I was looking for. I recommend EEE without reservation.

They had someone come over to the house to check the other rooms had them pull up our floor boards to take a look then never followed up to actually provide the service. I have called both my point of contact and the office multiple times with no response. As a result I am having to go with another company to have the rest of our work done which is extremely unfortunate. I really dont post reviews that often but I just wanted to relay my experience as I use yelp for a lot of my home service projects and rely on honest feedback not just artificially generated positive reviews.
