The owner Pascale is extremely rude. She basically berated me over the phone for wanting to get multiple estimates. Yes, I said that correctly. She lectured me, the customer, on wanting to shop around. Any business owner that discourages a homeowner from wanting to receive multiple estimates is clearly being shady. I understand that you may not be the cheapest option, but trying to hide that fact from your customers by refusing to do business with customers who want to do their due diligence and shop for value (this doesn't mean shopping for the cheapest price, it means shopping for the best value for the price) is a surefire way to go out of business. Not to mention the rudeness. She talks to you like you're stupid. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this business. There are plenty of energy efficiency companies and insulation businesses out there that treat their customers with politeness and respect. read more

They came and performed a whole house energy inspection. This went well. Sadly, the communication broke down (they won't reply to email or phone calls) and they never came to perform the follow up work. Essentially, I need to start over to find a new contractor. Very disappointing. read more

If I were Diogenes, I could set down my lantern--I have seen the face of an honest man--only she's a woman: Pascale Maslin of Energy Efficiency Experts. Pepco sends me "good girl" messages, and then suddenly, I'm worse than other comparable households. I had an energy audit 6 years ago, and thought perhaps something had deteriorated. I misunderstood Pepco's home audit offer, and Pascale misunderstood that I had already used Pepco's rebate. She made an appointment promptly, showed up 5 minutes early. She checked the house and attic insulation and her able assistant was setting up all the heavy equipment for the blow test when she discovered that I was no longer eligible for the discount. I took a deep breath and said I could pay the full price. She said no, I didn't need it, and after looking at my Pepco usage history, said that my air conditioner needed compressor fluid and I could benefit from a timer on my dehumidifier. She repeatedly refused any payment, after giving me the advice I was looking for. I recommend EEE without reservation. read more

Pascale and her team are very professional. They conducted a full energy audit (Pepco covers most of this cost) and made several recommendations including beefing up insulation, sealing parts of the attic, and adding bathroom fans. I reviewed their proposal closely and shopped around a bit, but ultimately decided to have them do the work given their competitive pricing (after the estimated Pepco rebate) and attention to detail during the audit. We are very happy with the results-- significantly warmer bedrooms upstairs and better ventilation/ circulation thanks to the fans. To keep cold air from seeping into our family room, we've also started to use our fireplace from time to time, which Pascale took the time to examine and test out during the original audit -- even though this was arguably beyond the scope of the audit. Extra points for integrity-- on the day of the job, Brendan realized that the estimate had been overstated slightly (I hadn't seen the issue) and reduced my outstanding balance on the spot. The only issue keeping me from five stars -- when adding the bathroom fans, they did not add extra electrical switches. In one bathroom, this meant the fan went on together with the lights. I had to ask an electrician to add the extra switch. Not a huge deal, but would have been nice to take care of everything at once. Highly recommended! read more

I was not charged for the consultation, and she provided the name of a local electrician she works with. I found every interaction to be pleasant, professional, and timely. read more

The principal, Pascale is super efficient and super fast (she doesn't mind if you ask her to repeat or slow down the pace), She did a thorough step by step explanation of the energy audit and made specific recommendations. I submitted a request for a quote, and Pascale called me back. I let her know I was shopping around to get points of view from at least 3 companies before settling on a company to do energy efficiency insulation work in my home. She then said she was "too busy for that." (her exact words). I was surprised and taken aback from her response. I sure did not feel welcome to do business with her. Pascale and her team have worked in our historic rowhome on four occasions: first to perform an energy audit, then to install insulation, next to install fans in our attic, and most recently to help troubleshoot a leak in our roof. They are professional, kind, considerate, thorough, do great work, and I have learned a great deal about our home from them. Of all the contractors who have had a hand in upgrading our house over the past two years, the Energy Efficiency Experts were the most interested in making sure their work was complete, correct, and would improve our quality of living. They communicate clearly, have fair pricing, and even helped us alleviate a recent roof leak emergency after our roofers turned out to be the opposite of professional and thorough. Ben and Junior saw a thunderstorm coming while investigating our water entry points and without hesitation sealed the trouble spots because they cared about us and our home. Last fall Pascale helped us identify a potentially hazardous carbon monoxide issue related to our boiler venting and her team identified faulty wiring in our attic while installing insulation. Rather than continue with the job they were paid to do, ignore it, or cover it up because it wasn't their responsibility they helped us contact an electrician and waited for us to fix the boiler issue before insulating which would have decreased our air "leakiness" and increased our risk. I completely trust this group, and encourage anyone needing insulation or an energy audit to contact them. read more

Very frustrating! Don't use this company. We paid for an energy audit in July. It's November now and we still haven't received complete results. On the day of the audit I heard Pascale say something to her worker about the infrared pictures... I didn't hear what was said. Then at the end of the audit, after waiting a very long time, she said she was having computer difficulties and would send the infrared pictures to my wife and I later. After weeks of following up with her (and receiving maybe one picture of a hot light bulb and another picture with no location) she finally admitted that the conditions weren't right to get helpful pictures on that day. Why not reschedule? Or crank the thermostat? Or do something besides misrepresent the truth? This company probably has the expertise to do a good job, they just chose not to. What really confuses and frustrates me is that recently she very nicely agreed to have one of her team return and redo the blower door test only to stand us up twice. Once I raced home from work and was stood up and once I built my schedule around being home in the morning. No explanation either time. Not sure what the goal of that is. That is very clearly not a good way to run a business. read more
