Pepco sends me "good girl" messages, and then suddenly, I'm worse than other comparable households. I had an energy audit 6 years ago, and thought perhaps something had deteriorated. I misunderstood Pepco's home audit offer, and Pascale misunderstood that I had already used Pepco's rebate. She made an appointment promptly, showed up 5 minutes early. She checked the house and attic insulation and her able assistant was setting up all the heavy equipment for the blow test when she discovered that I was no longer eligible for the discount. I took a deep breath and said I could pay the full price. She said no, I didn't need it, and after looking at my Pepco usage history, said that my air conditioner needed compressor fluid and I could benefit from a timer on my dehumidifier. Last year I had and audit, insulation, and air sealing completed in my house. The installation was quick and they left the house just as they found it. They were really thorough; it took both of them almost 3 hours and they looked at everything including doing flow measurements of the ducts and finding a disconnected duct in the attic, which they fixed immediately.
