Y'all! Gather round. Do you despair when necessary tasks require your: Research (time) Hard earned capital (time) Trust and faith someone will actually do a proper job (emotional well being) Samsies. This is our second experience with Eco. After the first (plumbing) it was a no brainer to call them again. This time for electric and it feels like a pretty large job; three buildings on our property including one full panel redo. They do charge for an estimate. This could take you by surprise. They didn't used to. But we are all in this wild economy together so it makes sense. They also make you feel like you got good value out of the inspection. Extremely thorough. It's refreshing to see people/businesses know their worth. It's not a money grab. It's highly skilled professionals giving you a ton of their time. That's worth a lot more than what they charge. Probably just covers gas. We did our due diligence however and had other quotes. Eco was the last to quote and because of their extreme level of detail we knew they were it. No regrets. Jordan was our main man. He represents Eco so well you'd think he owned the business. Knowledge, professionalism, easy manor, precision, experience... what more do you want? He's also pretty cool. Bonus points for that ;) This is one of those rare and magical situations where the dollar spent feels well deserved. I'm not sure what else can be said. Got a response from someone this morning at Eco Electric, almost a year after. They didn't give any sort of reasoning as to why they wouldn't price match another company or why their prices were essentially double what others were quoting. Either way, I'm glad I shopped elsewhere as I had Washington Energy Services come out and install an high efficiency Bryant heat pump for $8k before tax. Eco Electric wanted $18k-$20k for their heat pump installation option, which is again more than double what I paid for and is absurd. read more

I find it stressful to be in the middle of a plumbing crisis with no plumber, having to look for a plumber....i called ECO and SAM came out and he saw what no other plumber saw....where the leak was WITHOUT having to open the wall or ceiling. He proposed going through the outside siding inflicting MINIUM DAMAGE to my house. How lucky was I to find SAM!? Long, but worth it. My family and I bought a home. Before moving in, we hired Eco to do some electrical updates/upgrades and install a new furnace. The good: The scheduling process and customer service from the sales/quote team was great. I can't remember the name of the original person who helped us (It has been almost a year), but he was super great, took his time checking out EVERYTHING in the house, and made very good suggestions. We came up with a detailed plan for all the things we needed and wanted. The quote came back decently expensive, but we were confident due to the detail that was taken that it would be worth it. The teams arrived on time and were very professional in our home. What happened? The person who did our original quote (and the very detailed explanation of what we needed) went on vacation. I don't know if he didn't leave good notes or what, but the team that arrived had NO IDEA for the specific things we asked for. They knew they were installing a furnace, and that went super well. But all the electrical upgrades were a mess. We had an in-wall box installed so that we could wall-mount our TV. The team put it in the wrong location. They did put one in the right location, but they did not repair the hole they made. They gave us the name of their "drywall guy," who wanted an additional $800 to fix the hole they left. They left an additional hole next to our fireplace that was never discussed or planned and said they, "had to." More money. They installed a bright silver box outlet in our all-black fireplace, so I then had to paint the outlet myself. No big deal, but for the amount of money, this was crazy to me. We got our entire breaker box replaced and new outdoor outlets installed. When we tried to use the outdoor outlet, we couldn't get it to work at all. We called them back out. Turns out they left one single switch in our old breaker box, which we had no idea about. The outdoor outlets that they installed have flat panel doors, which means they will not close if you have something plugged in. Not great in the Washington weather. During the summer, our portable AC units could not be run in two rooms simultaneously (the bedroom and the living room) without flipping the fuse. They share an exterior wall. When we called ECO, they told us "that's how old houses are; we can come separate them for $2500 more dollars". Keep in mind, we paid for upgrades and were never told that three major rooms shared ONE breaker. They did not correctly label the brand-new breaker box, so we have to play guessing games every time we need to use it. They installed the furnace and the hot water heater (which they also installed at an earlier point) on the same exhaust. Now that it is winter, the hot water heater keeps shutting off. We read that this could be because of the pressure from the furnace taking the oxygen needed to keep the pilot light on. (I'm not an expert, so forgive me, but this was not happening during summer.) We called for a check-in. Over a month later, they randomly called and said someone could be there in 15 minutes to 1 hour. I was at work, but was able to get my sister there. They sent out an HVAC guy to evaluate. He said that this isn't an HVAC problem and we need a hot water heater tech. He was helpful and tried to look at the hot water heater himself. He told us that this was the second time this week that they sent him to a job that wasn't HVAC. I'm still unsure if it actually is an exhaust problem or a problem with the brand-new hot water heater. Now, we will have to wait for that, too. Nothing about this company is all bad, but I'm just not confident in the work they did in my home. read more

My old tank water heater started leaking and needed replacement. Jameson from Eco came, gave me an estimate for the updates needed to switch to tankless water heater and patiently explained the process and answered my questions. We (and Jameson's manager) were able to negotiate on what I considered a fair price and Jameson worked until 8pm or so until the work was completed and I had hot water again. I am a new homeowner to a 1940s home that needed a new roof. Eco Electric completed the electrical work to connect my new roof ventilation power fan. Since I am a new homeowner with 20+ questions, I asked Eco to provide quotes for a number of potential projects. They generously walked me through my home and answered my many, many questions with detailed explanations and a multi-part quote for the various potential projects. I hired them to connect my new roof fan and install lighting, outlets, and switches in my attic while they were up there. I was nervous about getting work done within my old lathe-and-plaster walled house. Eco was a dream to work with. They did a fantastic job. This company is very expensive! I had them come out and look at my 5 year old mini split unit with three heads. They said it needed a new coil and had a small refrigerant leak. At first I was told there was no warranty to be found on the unit but I called Daikin myself and found that parts are covered. That didn't matter though because I was still charged a total of $5700 for those two repairs and cleaning of the heads. I called two other HVAC companies, one being the initial installer of my unit who now resides in another state so couldn't do the repair. Both told me that this was beyond expensive for the nature of the work. I understand the value of somebody's hard work but I cannot understand how they justify almost 6k for those two repairs. I called and talked to the manager for a breakdown of the bill and they said they don't charge labor hours, something about charging for the different tasks. It was vague and I was not left understanding how they break down their charges. The technician was at my house twice. The first time to diagnose and clean the heads. The second time to do the repairs. I must say he was very detailed about what the issues were and what needed to be done. It was just the price that gets me. I should have had a second opinion before I went ahead with this company. Learning lesson I guess. read more

2 GFI outlets in the kitchen were not working, kept on popping. They were changed to a new one but the problem was not solved. David, the technician was knowledgeable and recommended to do a circuit restoration. A bit pricey for the job but it solved the problem. David explained fully what the job entails and was very detailed and explained it well to us. He was patient in explaining since he used jargons that you don't normally understand. I would absolutely not recommend Eco Electric Company. It took them nearly a month just to install a furnace -- a job that should've been done in a few days. Their troubleshooting skills are seriously lacking, and I paid the price for it. Initially, they charged me $4,500 just to "level" the old furnace, claiming that would fix the issue. It didn't. After wasting all that time and money, they came back and told me the furnace actually needed to be replaced -- and asked for another $5,500 to do it. In total, I ended up paying $10,000 just to replace one furnace, all because they couldn't properly diagnose the problem from the start. Completely unprofessional and frustrating experience. I used them 4 years ago and was very happy. Recently I called them for a 1-hour job and they quoted $1500 and change. Another 5-star plumber competed the same job in 55 minutes for half the price. My apartment had no overhead lighting in any of the rooms, and my electrical panel had never been replaced (since the 1970s). I'm glad google told me to go here. Edwin came over and estimated what it would cost to add light fixtures to my bedroom, living room, and office and replace the electrical panel with something more modern. Brandon, Kurt, Tristan, and Fred showed up right on time, they were super friendly, made sure to double-check with my partner and me before drilling holes for the fixtures, and did a walk-through to make sure everything in the project was complete and working. I am so very impressed with this company. Brandon was absolutely fantastic when he came by to fix our problem - some of the electrical outlets in our bedroom suddenly stopped working.. He was professional, thorough, and explained his process as he was going through diagnosing the issue and finding the location of the issue. It took longer to find the issue than we expected, thanks to the odd wiring choices that were made in the construction of my house. He found it, fixed it, gave a great explanation of the what, why, and how, and we were only charged the diagnostic fee. Afterwards, he did a safety check that included looking over my breaker panel and made recommendations and gave us quotes and a breakdown on said recommendations. This was greatly appreciated and he did a great job answering the questions I had during this process. While these estimate for these recommendations do seem pricey, there was no pressure or hard sell on these. It's been about a month since that visit, and the outlets are continuing to work nice and smooth. Earlier this week, my wife recommended Eco and Brandon to one of her colleagues and we were reminded of how impressed we were with this company. Even our dog liked him. We're definitely calling Eco Electric the next time we need an electrician. read more

And while drilling holes 2 incorrect large holes were made due to being pipe in wall " should have stud finder or something " that they didn't ! And they were going to leave it just like that before that i showed hesitation and unhappiness with work ! " they said u gotta get drywall work done and paint and all " but when i asked they covered it with the white plates ! Its okay but now i got wall filled with plugs and plates ! Looks mad filled ! And ugly ! Not what i expected for 2300$ price i paid ! Guys were friendly but yeah not happy with the outcome ! Those holes in drywall gonna keep getting air inside and moisture into walls ! I didn't have the same experience as most other people. I made an appointment, it was cancelled (which was fine and understandable given the reason I was given). The morning zoom meeting the consultant Cory Hesseltine was a late. I was having connection issues, so while he waited for me to get it worked out he disappeared - he went for a coffee refill but when I reconnected, I had no idea what was going on, could have made a note in the chat... Then a couple of co-workers were outside his door office door so he rolled over in his chair and started talking to them. Didn't feel like he really wanted my business by the end of the call. Still waiting for the estimate and explanation he told me he'd send me in an hour. I give 3 stars because of the very nice lady who set up the appointment and called to reschedule. read more

I am writing this review immediately after the electrician has come and gone. 1. I contacted Eco electrical to request service on a chandelier replacement in my 13 foot high staircase. (I can't do this, nor do I have the skillset - hence my call) 2. I called explicitly (EXPLICITLY!) for the electrician to bring the proper ladder to do the job. 3. I measured with the call rep on the phone how tall the ceilings were and asked 3 to 4 times to make sure they come prepared. 4. I was assured they would come prepared with the right ladder and tools. 5. Service was scheduled at a time I had to leave work and meet them Hey - guess what? They didn't come prepared. The electrician looked at the job and said he was not sure he had the right ladder. He also mentioned that the ladder that would work was on another job site. The other electrician could deliver it, but it would be about an hour. I let the electrician know this was frustrating after I was explicit in my directions. He apologized, but what was he going to do? NOPE. Look elsewhere for help. read more

Friendly and responsive. They charge $100 to come out to diagnose any issues which was expected. Once done they examine the home for any kind for potential up sells even though they have not been asked to do so. Even simple things they charge hundreds and eventually added up with estimates on over 10k worth of work. The estimated work was not necessary but recommeneded. At an hourly of estimates, which they would not give upfront, are several hundred of dollars per hour. They get paid better than doctor, lawyer, and professors. I know there is a labor shortage but it seems we live a strange world now... In fairness, speaking with other electrical companies they wanted $500 just to come out for a diagnosis.. However, I question electrical labor is hundreds per hour. Inflation goes up if we accept the higher cost of labor. Supporting minimal and livable wage is one thing, but this is far from meeting living standards... read more

It took some maneuvering to minimize conduit and they succeeded in making the project look good as well as work well. They would have done the work that day, but had to get the city to approve an updated electric panel, because the old one wasn't up to code. They came back the next day after getting approval. Project started great and everyone was very friendly. Toward the end of the project I found things that were damaged in my home and a number of items that Exo Electric failed to complete. As soon as I mentioned these items, their attitudes shifted instantly and then weren't so friendly. I hired them to remove all of the dangerous knob and tube wiring, replace the panel inside, swap all switches & outlets and replace the box and mast outside. The knob and tube wiring is still in my house, they installed light switches crooked, did not swap every outlet like they said they would, left a major outlet in the kitchen dead-no power to that outlet still to this day, installed that outside box cooked and not flush to the house, the mast is touching my new roof done a few weeks ago and bending shingles, the box inside is not installed properly and does not latch shut. They said they were going to bring a label maker to make the box nice but instead wrote everything by hand and not clearly, quite sloppy actually. They attempted to charge me an exorbitant amount amount for additional work to remedy these issues and I said no. They went on to say that they were not coming back and that the job is marked as complete. This. Reach of contract on their part has caused multiple issues with other projects including the roof, siding and gutters. Customer service from this company was horrendous and they are anything but professional. The GM Cory Hessiltine was extremely unprofessional on our 1 call, using profanity and not allowing me to speak. He went on a rant and essentially "told me how it is". This company is run by sleazy sleazy sales people, I was clearly just a number to this company and they do not care about helping their customers, their only concern is getting paid- not doing what is right. Don't make the same mistake that I did in hiring these amateurs. read more
