Used to be great. But this one bad experience left a scar. After trying out several pediatrician we really liked this office because of an amazing doctor named Dr.Shih. He treated our kids for over a decade. We had been coming to this office under Dr.Iseri for over 16years. All three of our boys had come here as their regular pediatrician. One day our youngest, with autism had a strange lump on his head. My wife panicked and brought him to the doctor right away. Dr.Lisa Gershman saw him. She was new here and she never treated our children before. She didn't know what was wrong. So we took him for an x-ray and a CT scan. We were told there were no skull injuries and basically a "I don't know". Then Dr Gershman said I have to file this. We didn't know what that meant. Sunday night after dinner two policeman with guns show up at our house with Child Protective Services. Apparently Dr Lisa Gershman called CPS because our child had a bump. After talking with us and meeting our family CPS and police officers admitted this doctor over reacted. And they weren't really sure why this was reported. They said "its obvious you are wonderful parents". I called Eclipse and said I'd like to talk with a senior manager about this issue. I told them I don't want to talk with Dr Gershman because she didn't seem like a reasonable person. So obviously Dr Gershman calls me without any apology tells me "that's the law". The police explained that the law is its up to the doctors discretion based on evidence or pattern of any child abuse. The law doesn't say any bump on the head requires reporting parents to CPS. I told her we've been coming to this doctor for 18 years for all three boys without any incident. After all this time one child has a bump and this genius calls the police and CPS. Even the police said lately some of these new doctors care more about litigation than patients and call and report at the drop of a hat. It ruined our weekend and after all the running around we did for our child by calling the doctor and all the tests we ran this doctor deemed we needed investigation. Dr Gershman instead of taking accountability of checking the history or background of our history with this dr made this brash decision on her own. Then told me Dr Iseri told me to do it??? Later she corrected herself and said after your complaint she told him what happened and he said she followed policy. I hope these amateur doctors get some training on the laws before making irresponsible decisions like this. I won't trust my children with her ever again. Disappointing after 18 years. I wish we could find where Dr Shih went. read more

Late writing this but feel it's necessary for parents to know. Several years ago I brought my middle son in for what he complained was an "odd feeling" heartbeat with stomach upset. He was 16 years old at the time (he's now 22 years old) The dr examined him and asked if he had been drinking those popular energy drinks teens like. My son adamantly said no. You could tell the doctor didn't believe him, so I chimed in with "I know my kids. He doesn't drink them and if he did, he certainly could tell me and I wouldn't be mad. He's a good kid and always at home. I know whah he does." The dr said kids get them at school. Okay, so let's look beyond the possibilities of caffeinated drinks. Now what? She said kids sometimes feel irregular heart rhythms and it's nothing to be concerned about unless it persisted. I told her he's been complaining intermittently for a few weeks. She did ZERO tests. Didn't refer us to a cardiologist and that was it. I took my son to my family dr who basically said the same thing. Not sitting well with me because I know my kids, I called our insurance and changed his plan from a HMO to a PPO and took him directly to a cardiologist. Took about 7 days too accomplish. Guess what. Worst case scenario!! They did an EKG and sent him home with a heart event monitor to wear for 14 days. The 2nd day we get a call from the cardiologist saying bring your son in NOW! We rushed down there and found out my son, at rest his heart rate soared to 228 beat per minute!. At rest your heart rate should be around 70-90. He was 228! We found out he had SVT and IMMEDIATELY was scheduled for a catheter ablation surgery for his heart. He basically had what you hear when a kid drops dead on the football field at 15-16 years old of a massive he's attack. Thank God during this time my son was not active due to not feeling well. It's taken me 7 years to write this and I'm only doing so to urge parents to TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS. 2 doctors I trusted misdiagnosed him and didn't take his complaints seriously. Two! My son would not be here today if I didn't trust him and my own God given mommy instincts. Doctors are not God. They're human and can make mistakes. Nothing is more precious than your child. It's okay to get another opinion. It's acceptable to challenge the dr diagnosis or lack thereof. You must be an advocate for your child. Their life may depend on it. God bless you all and do what feels right. Even if you're told you are wrong. read more

Dr. Bhalla is absolutely wonderful. One of my little ones ended up at Chocs Children's hospital due to Pneumonia brought on by flu. Dr.Bhalla check up on her a few times during & after hospitalization. When the Dr. herself take time to make a personal phone call to check on your child, we consider that going above and beyond most. read more

We have been going to Eclipse Medical Group for almost 9 years. We have three kids and saw Dr. Shih for most of that time. Dr. Shih was amazing and would spend 30-40 minutes with you and had the best bedside manner ever. He was very detailed and you left the office thinking you were the best parent ever :-) My kids loved him, every mom loved him:) I have seen several doctors from the same office and they all have been good. Were they Dr. Shih? No, but I was mostly happy. The turnover was pretty bad, so we continued to see a different doctor every single time we went. Then the other day I was incredibly worried about my six-year-old who had hives from head to toe and has been sick at least six times in a five month period. I went and saw a new doctor by the name of Stanley Calderwood. He was incredible and spent at least 40 minutes with me :-) He thoroughly examined my child from head to toe and went over every single possible thing that could be wrong with him. I haven't had this type of quality care since seeing Dr. Shih, It was one of the best doctor visits I have ever had. I really cannot say enough about Dr. Calderwood! Even though I was very concerned about my child, I left the office feeling very good about things. He was very efficient and gave me paperwork to get blood drawn. The next day he received my child's results and contacted me immediately. Again, he was very thorough and detailed on the phone:) Let's hope Eclipse Medical Group is as tired of the turn over as the parents are in Corona! Keep Dr. Stanley Calderwood!!! The only negative thing about this office is the wait time to see the doctor. This process definitely needs to be streamlined. There have been many occasions when I have had an appointment and still waited at least an hour or more to see a doctor. read more

I am a registered nurse at Hoag Hospital and was disappointed with the level of professionalism of this medical group. I took my son for a well visit and left being upcharged because I requested the doctor look at my sons knee! (Apparently that makes it a "sick/well" visit.) The physician never introduced himself to me and also questioned my medical decisions for my son regarding treatment choices. My son is 13 and also voiced that he felt like the doctor took very little interest in him and spent more time looking at his computer. Disappointed it the best way to sum up our visit. I had hoped the other reviews were an exaggeration but they are accurate. read more

We've been coming here for 5 years. Dr. Shih was amazing but has left. This past year for my daughter's visits she has not seen the same Dr. consistently. She has seen a different person each time and they all have different opinions and I really wanted to have one Dr. get to know my children. Wait times are long, but it used to be worth it. I thought this eclipse medical group was going to be a good medical group for my daughter but they have disappointed me so much every time i call to schedule my daughter in for an appointment they are fully booked and i can never get her in for a dr visit!!!! I 100% agree with crystal S the girls do not do their job in putting the referrals in its been 2 months since i have been waiting for my daughter to be ref out to a specialist and nothing.... Dr. Gershman and Dr. Tucker are both fantastic doctors. They really take their time to listen to my concerns and are super professional and friendly to our whole family. We love it here! I can't believe I am not the only one the same problem!! My two daughters are 6 and 5 and have being seeing Dr Messinger since they where born. He is simply amazing and the only reason I bring my kids here. I have had problems with the front office staff ever since they moved to their new office. Not sure if they hired new people or the people that work there are tired of doing their job. This past summer the DR was trying to reach me in regards to a urine test for one of my daughters. However I work graveyard as a nurse and did not answer his phone calls because I was sleeping. When I did get them I would call right back and ask to speak with him. We had played phone tag for a while but After leaving numerous messages with the front staff I was not given a call back at all. I know Dr Messinger did not get my message because I have never had any problems. This week my daughter caught the flu and had a nasty cough and fever that would spike to 105. I want to make an appointment to see dr Messinger however i needed to speak with him over the phone first. First thing - a female doctor called back which was fine she was kind. But dr Messinger knows my kids better then the female doctor and plus I requested him. secondly-the Doctor was nice like I said but I had told her that her cough was horrible and it seemed like she brushed it off. And told me to call back if her fever persisted for another 2 days (it has been 3 days already) or take her to the ER if she had difficulty breathing. I noticed that my daughter was starting to get worse not better but still not Emergency sick so I called again because I wanted them to look at her and determine if she needed medication. So I called. The front people took a message but I never receive a call that day. We ended up in the ER because she developed difficulty breathing and she ended up having the flu with pneumonia. There was no way for the doctor to know what was going on since we where over the phone but I wish she would have listened to me when I said horrible cough. Who knows... If I would have gone in on Wednesday she might not be in hospital. I had Called they next day to express my complaints and seemed to get a very good response from the office manager who was very pleasant unlike the girl who answered my phone call who began to cut me off during my compliant. I asked if the owner can call me back but of course that has not happened yet. She had also mentioned that a doctor did call back to a 714 number which was even more annoying since I updated my number the day before. This is Not the way I would do business. I had also made an appointment for my oldest who was also sick at the same time and had a nasty cough (not as bad as my youngest) just to make sure everything was ok. My husband had taken her in to see dr Messinger and surprisingly my husband said he was cold and snappy with him. My husband is so sweet and kind so i totally felt bad for him. Not sure why the office has it out for their clients but that's not my problem. I will be asking around to find a new pediatrician for both my girls and my newborn son. And I will make sure to check Yelp. read more

We have been taking our kids here for years, and since Dr. Shih left last year we have seen a decline in service. On October 5th we received a letter saying they closed the office we've been going to... back on Sept 1. We have appointments lined up and they never once gave us a heads up they were closing. Only a letter one month after they closed. Not at all a professional or classy move. read more

We recently moved to Corona and I needed to find a pediatrician, I had a 18 month old and one on the way. I stalked the internet, read reviews, had appointments at three other doctors offices before I finally asked the right mom and she told me about Eclipse Medical Group. I made an appointment and already felt defeated after my previous experiences, I just wanted to find a doctor that I felt truly cared and was knowledgable and patient with me and my kids. Their office is in a clean building (after the offices I had visited, this is noteworthy) There were more than two women at the front desk who were very attentive and friendly, I have been there a handful of times and the wait was not torture. All of the medical assistants that have handled my children have been awesome! I was lucky to have met with Dr. Ballah. She is wonderful!! After my first appointment for my newborn for three day wellness check there had been some concerns and I had made a follow up appointment before I left. After being home for less than an hour Dr. Ballah called just to check on us and discuss different things and even suggested we come in earlier than our scheduled appointment to make sure you were on track. Those are the things I had been looking for in a pediatrician. She is so patient and explains everything as she is doing it. When I have called to make an appointment i just ask to see Dr. Ballah so I don't feel like I am being passed around. For me, I have found our pediatrician. read more

I can NOT tell you how amazing this office is. From the greeting at the front desk to the gentle care in the back it is safe to say they are AMAZING. My son is 6 years old now and has been a patient of Eclipse for a few years now. I want to specifically say Suzanne the last Nurse Practitioner we saw was over the top, her genuine concern and care was greatly appreciated. It is scary when your kiddos are sick but this place makes it just a little easier. I would recommend this office to anyone. read more

This was my first time at this office. The first time my husband brought our son and had a pleasant experience with a female doctor. This time around I took my son and had an appointment with a different doctor. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, however the doctor I saw was not. His name is Dr. Jefferey M. He had a terrible bedside manner. He seemed like he didn't want to be there and every time I asked a question he gave me a condescending answer. He also wasn't friendly with my son. He came in and asked him how are you , in which my son replied good, his response "then why are you here?" No smile, nothing. I would come here again but I will definitely make sure not to see this doctor again and would advise anyone else not to unless you want rude treatment. read more
