As a a parent, I want what's best for my child, I had some concerns with that vaccine and as I raised questions about it he stated if we do not vaccinate our child he will refuse care for my son. I told him I'm not too comfortable just yet putting that into my child, he's barely two years old, what is the rush to push these shots on him and he can't even speak for himself therefore I am his advocate. Dr. Warren dropped us as patients, which is upsetting because we asked him if we can please have a referral to a speech evaluation for him since he's not speaking a whole lot, and he denied our request. It's upsetting because I had concerns on one vaccine , Dr. Warren will not help us at least with a referral for his developmental needs and concerns. I'm not against vaccines what so ever, I just didn't feel the urgency to vaccinate him so young with such strong dosage, and it's my right as a parent to make this decision with my child and they refused us care because of my opinion for my child. It's very upsetting. He stated them as the board of doctors they will drop you as a patient if you refuse to vaccinate the MMR, chicken pox, or some other one. Which my sons has all of them besides the MMR. Ridiculous.

It's 10:36 PM on a Saturday night and I just got off the phone with Dr. Karnavy. She's the real…read moredeal. Tons of experience, accessible anytime, and truly cares about her patients. Doctor is not overbearing and has really worked with us to make sure we as parents agree with her recommended treatments to keep our boys healthy. 4+ years ago, when I was pregnant with my first son, I took a chance on finding a good pediatrician from the recommended list at San Antonio Hospital. From day 1, the care and treatment provided has been impressive. When kiddo #1 lost more than the typical or acceptable newborn weight loss and we had to supplement with formula, Dr. Karnavy asked if I drank cow's milk or soy during pregnancy. Why you ask? She wanted to make sure the formula selected had the highest chance of not being rejected by our little guy since he was at a critical point. It's these little details that make her so good at what she does. Tonight our 16-month old started a croup-like cough. Croup is scary. It sounds like your kid is fighting to breathe. Air hungry, they call it. Coughed so bad he threw up! :( Having experienced this before with his big brother, I whipped out the nebulizer and asked my husband to call Dr. Karnavy just in case - make sure we're on the right path. We called her cell #, left a voicemail. I figured we would hear from her tomorrow morning. Nope. She called back tonight at 10:30 PM! Yes, I'm that mom. If the doctor says you can call anytime and I think the call is warranted - I call. We don't really want to bother her on a weekend or late evening but this whole parenting thing is still new to us and a constant experiment. Don't we all just want our kids to be healthy and happy? :) No matter what the scenario, she's always really great about explaining details, processes, and options for treatment. Uh...can you tell I'm a detailed kind of mom? Ah, did I mention my kids like her too? That's big, especially with the precocious 4 year old. Bonus: When we go in for office visits, she gives us samples like Zarbee's products and children's Advil. Oh, coupons too. Love it. Kids are $$$!

We have been coming to Dr. Karnavy for almost 2 years now. The wait time in the lobby may be longer than 30 minutes in most cases. However, I believe she worth the wait. She would really take her time with my daughter. Based on my experience, she seems very knowledgeable and experienced. She also makes herself accessible on weekend and after hours via phone call, which proofed to be a great deal for us on several occasions. My own doctor can not even provide such service for me. She even calls to follow up until she's sure the worse has passed. The office staff were friendly and accommodating. I've experience nothing more than professional performance from the staff so far.
