These eclairs are art. Both aesthetically and tastethetically. They are fancy but approachable, like a President's dog. There are at least eight different varieties, all of them gorgeous. I had to restrain myself from buying the full collection. They look so good! And yes, the taste matches. They are puffy, moist and packed with sweet custardy goodness. It took all of my restraint to not simply inhale mine like Kirby. What a delicious almond croissant! I ordered for pickup on Doordash which is the way to go because a few of their pastries are 30% off during happy hour! For under $5 it was huge! The croissant was soft and the almond paste had great flavor. The almonds on top were also nicely baked into the croissant. We were craving some desserts so went to Eclair Bakery to pick up some sweets. I tried the Lemon Tart ($7.95), which had a raspberry jam in the middle. I expected more of a lemon flavor to the custard and the raspberry jam in the middle was a bit too sweet. I also noticed in the store they charge more if you pay by credit card as opposed to cash, which is a bit unfair and odd for any store to do these days. I tried a bite of the Passionfruit Tart, Cheesecake and Opera Cake (all $7.95 - with an extra charge for paying by credit card) as well, and these were just okay. I was expecting a bit more from Eclair Bakery, but not sure if it would be my top pick for desserts in the area. read more

Well if you're going to name a bakery after a specific baked good one would expect it to be top notch. However, Eclair Bakery did not live up to its name. First of all, the eclair pastry was very dry and very very cold clearly it was not freshly made. Second,l whatever plaster fondant they have on top of the passion fruit eclair was not edible we took it off like it was Play-Doh, it was flavorless and as chewy as playdoh. Additionally, I ordered an iced tea and tea was a very generous word for what I received which tasted like artificially flavored tea water. So wholel I did really enjoy the space and the Ambiance of the cafe, to me this was a complete miss on the baked goods as well as the beverages so I will not be back or if I am, I will certainly not be ordering the bakery's namesake pastry. read more

I found this cute Parisian cafe that makes variety of éclairs and yummy French pastries and recommended my friend that we meet up here. On a Tuesday late afternoon, it was averaged busyness but quiet. We ordered from the counter, took our food and found a nice corner to sit in. The place was decorated with paintings, decorations that reminded of a small French cafes in Paris. Really cute. There a couples of people when my friend and I get there. Service: The customer service really sucks! There are three people there and I don't event know who I am talking to. I asked the first barista for a cup of English breakfast and before even I add more on my order she turned around and started making my tea. I have to go to another barista to get my other two more orders. And they just pack everything in a bag without even asking if my friend and I were eating in the cafe or taking away! So far I've tried the traditional, dark chocolate, and hazelnut and let me say that although these are pretty decently-sized, decadent pastries, I will put away a few of these easy! The other pastries here look pretty good too -- the blondie is solid, and I'd like to try their financiers and caneles -- but unsurprisingly, eclairs are the winner here. All their eclairs looked so enticing that I opted for the mini eclair sampler box (6 for $15) to try their top-selling flavors. The flavors that come in the box are traditional, pistachio, almond crunch, hazelnut, passionfruit, and dark chocolate. Both my husband and I enjoyed the almond crunch the most! The nutty flavor and crunchy texture went really well with the delicious vanilla filling. In second place was the pistachio flavor. Surprisingly, the traditional one was the least impressive, even the filling tasted more subtle compared to the rest. I find it fairly difficult to find a solid eclair and thought the ones here were great. The flavors were on point, the filling to shell ratio was well balanced, they had a lovely presentation, and it wasn't soggy even after waiting a few hours to eat it. I love that they have two options of mini samplers as well (6 or 12 minis) so that you can try many flavors. Would make for great gifts too! read more

The croissant was flaky and buttery - but could be a bit crispier. The coffee was very large and I wanted to ask for more milk but the line had gotten too long at that point. There's a reason why the cheesecake one is one of the more popular ones.....heavenly delicious whipped cheesecake filling inside and on top. Dangerous indeed! The pistachio one is my least favorite out of the ones that I tried; although still great, the pistachio taste is a bit too subtle. I was planning to try just some of the eclairs here but no way Jose after seeing how phenomenal the display cases looked here. I had to grab more pastries! The raspberry croissant tastes just like a super scrumptious fruit strudel but in croissant form and the apple turnover has such a delectably flaky and buttery crust to it. Never had a financier until trying the pistachio one here; ooooo melt-in-your-mouth spongy and kinda reminds me of a madeleine cake. The almond flavor sure quite packs the punch (also subtle pistachio flavor in this one as well, but in this case I felt like it didn't even stood a chance against the really strong almond flavor lol). This bakery is amazing also because none of things that I tried were overly sweet (I don't have a huge sweet tooth). So sad that I live far from this bakery (gal from Cali). My bday is coming up and I would have loved to get one of the whole tarts here for it.....they look very pretty :'(! Anyway, definitely one of the best bakeries that I've visited in NYC!! read more

Heard about this place a long time ago, and finally was in the area to check this place out. I got there a eclair mini sampler, which comes with sixth of the most famous flavors. What I also love about this place is that there seems to be some level of Spanish influence here? When I was waiting to place my order, they were quite a few obviously, European Spanish customers, speaking with the staff and it kind of teleported me back to when I visit some family I have who lives there. How lovely to think that there is a pocket of Spanish culture right here in Midtown east. Anyway, the eclairs were super good and fresh about eclair I think is one that has been refrigerated for too long, so it will be really soggy and cold. These were soft and delicate and did have a slight crumb to it which I appreciate. For me, I think the best eclairs are crumbly. Each of the flavors are really good and surprised me in different ways. The passion fruit was one of the stand out ones and was really bright and sharp and had that nice pointed tartness that really gives it that puckering feeling when you have it. The Ferrero/hazelnut flavor was divine texturally , flavor wise, and, of course, appearance wise. For reference it is the bottom left in the box in the picture I took. The pistachio almond croissant was also really good and it's not a favor combination I normally see. The hot chocolate was just OK, it wasn't a thick decadent, sort of European chocolate I was hoping for nor was it quite creamy. All in all definitely come here for their namesake - eclairs. As a born and raised French, I can tell that this is THE place to get a " real " croissant, baguette or French pastry. Anytime I have a big celebration, I just go there to get a cake . Underwhelming. I ordered three eclairs - traditional, passion fruit, and pistachio, as well as a large coffee with half and half. If your store is named something you sell, that thing should be EXCELLENT. It is not. The passion fruit was the star of the show, which is bananas since you'd think they could make a PERFECT traditional eclair. The pistachio was downright disappointing - the flavor was overly saccharin and clearly from extracts, not fresh tasting at all. The pate a choux was bland and a bit dry. The 'frosting' was gummy. And the coffee was very light-bodied and meh. This place has a lot of hype, I don't understand why. It tastes and feels cold and commercial, like they're trying to market themselves for an upscale mall / franchise. At $40 for three so-so eclairs and meh coffee, definitely will not be back. read more

Today I had something to celebrate so I grabbed a dark chocolate eclair (honestly I wanted to buy one of everything, it all looked amazing, but I contained myself!). Good size for a dessert. The dark chocolate helped tone down the sweetness which made it perfect for me since I don't like overly sweet desserts. In addition to their eclairs they have other desserts and pastries too. Have heard so much good things about this place and have been meaning to check it out for so long! So glad Finally did! One of the reasons I haven't came earlier is that I'm more of a cake person than an eclair person. Boy they just excel in everything from the eclairs to the cakes!! Beautiful decor. Love the blue/green and white color scheme - Very elegant and pretty and Frenchy! They have multiple tables outside and ample seatings inside as well. The eclairs and cakes and pastries are beautifully decorated and displayed - so hard to decide! One fun thing I've noticed in all French bakeries: their cookies are THICCC - like brownie thick! Tried couple of different items here Passion raspberry tart - LOVE It!!! The passionfruit filling is sooo refreshing! There's some raspberry jam at the bottom that adds even more delightful fruit flavor to the whole tart! Lemon meringue: I have had my fair share (and maybe others ppl's share too lol) of lemon meringue and this one knocked it outta the park! The filling is lemony and refreshing. The meringue has a slight crunch on the outside. One devil in the detail that I loved is that there are 3 chunks of candied lemon peels on top of the meringue! This adds even more lemony flavor and texture! I would prefer the lemon filling to be more tart and less sweet though. Chocolate mousse: very chocolatey and decadent Crunchy cake: this is basically chocolate mousse with some crunchy bits in the center - great flavors and fun texture! Tiramisu: LOVE it! This is one of the rare places that got the right mascarpone/cake ratio for me (most places have too much cake and not enough mascarpone). Another devil in the detail here is the chocolate shavings on top - adds so much more flavor and great crunchy texture! For someone with decision paralysis, their eclair sample box is a great way to go! Got the 6 flavor sample box and enjoyed all! I would probably go for a full size next time though since I prefer overflowing amount of cream and thinnn shells. According to the staff, hazelnut and pistachio are their most popular flavors.
