My insurance company set up the appointment and it went so smoothly. I went after a holiday weekend and they were so on it with the paperwork and inspection. They even arranged for enterprise to pick me up from their location. After about 3-4 hours I was notified that my inspection was complete and they will start working on my repairs. Go somewhere else. They broke my fuel gauge while replacing my front bumper. I had to pay the dealership an extra 400 dollars to fix what Eckhart broke. The owner Mark did not even look at the fuel gauge when I brought it to his attention before I even rolled the car off the property. Mark said to maybe get some gas. I came back on Monday after going to the dealership that Saturday to repair what Elkhart did. Mark said he would talk to his mechanic and call me. Mark never called me. If I wasn't so busy I would sue him in small claims court and I still might do so. read more

I love the receptionist Diana, she's always bubbly and smiling, and gives solid advice on dealing with accident quotes (I've been hit 3x in 6 months by reckless drivers!). I'm trying to sell my old car and Eckhart did a great job patching up some damage at an affordable rate. Mark replies rapidly to emails and is very on top of his work. He was very honest, personable and easy to speak with. Not intimidating like some body shops. The last quote I had from a recommended place said there was "no possible way" to do the repair for less than $2,000 which made NO sense. Mark was able to do the basic repair I wanted for under $300. He was willing to spend the time to get me a used part and save me a ton of money on a repair that was for an already banged up/old car that I didn't want to blow a ton of bucks on before selling. Eckhart felt like a place with good old fashioned family values that I'd like to support. I won't be going anywhere else (though I hope I won't have more accidents either!). read more

SCAMMERS. This is from a repair done back in 2012 maybe, not sure but it was some time ago. Come to find out recently when I was hit in the same place where this shop had "fixed" my car that there was frame damage and the only repair they made was a bandaid and cosmetic. I'm the original owner and its only been hit 2x in the same place so the damage was already there from the first repair. The owner Mark must have been doing a favor for his buddy because his son is the one who hit my car originally. Had I known more about cars I could've and should've looked closer, but I trusted their professionalism and was bamboozled. My advice is get a second opinion,always, and ask about the mechanics' trainning. My car was deemed a total loss and too much to PROPERLY repair. read more

I'm restoring my 1994 Land Rover Defender 90 that sat outside for 17 years and was in awful condition. I took the car to Eckhart based on the recommendation of the nearby Rover mechanic. The work Eckhart Auto Body did to make the car look new was nothing short of amazing. Elmer pretty much took the job as a personal mission. He insured that everything that could be disassembled and separately painted was. I did not expect such thorough work would be done, and the price was very fair. This vehicle is not a daily driver, and there was no insurance company pressure to get the job quickly finished, so it did take a very long time to complete. Eckhart Auto Body is THE go to body shop. I have personally had two of my cars fixed at this shop and both times I was blown away by the end result. My most recent visit was for a new front bumper, front right fender, and right side skirt on my 2007 Nissan 350Z. My Z is a VERY unique color which makes it difficult to match new panels to the original paint. Thanks to Mark and his talented team's attention to detail, the end result is STUNNING. As many times as we have taken our cars to Mark over the years I'm shocked that I have yet to write a Yelp review for his shop! My husband is a "car guy" and would never consider any other place for work to be done to any of the cars we've had/have. No matter how small or how big the job is they do a fantastic job. Sometimes it seems I get an even better car back AFTER any repairs or body work has been done there they are so good. The biggest bonus for me is the integrity, patience, kindness, honestly and accountability Mark has. My car looks brand new! This is the 2nd time I've come back (only because I've gotten into 2 accidents) & I'm very happy with the way it looks and runs. Might I add that the office manager Diane even gave me a small bottle of my car's unique color in case I needed it in the future (1st visit there). That was going the extra mile! The best! They recently repaired my son's 2006 Range Rover Sport which we debated on totaling. They repaired it in about a week and it looked better than it had before the accident. We love how honest they were and made sure to tell us what would be best for this old car, we were surprised how quickly they had it done! They have done work for us in the past but more minor repairs on newer cars which were also excellent experiences. We were skeptical on the Range Rover because of its age and the damage done to the car but we were blown away by the result! These guys really are the best! read more

I took my car to Mark (the owner) to have a few things done which were quite challenging, and Mark was willing and dedicated to getting the job done. He was always friendly and used his resources to get parts and work done from a variety of places for the solution I wanted. Eckhart is expensive so I would expect this level of service, and was still impressed by his dedication and quality of work. However, some of the people who work here are shady and clearly do not care about the customer's car. One time I stopped by I found my car parked inside the shop with the window down collecting auto body dust. Mark didn't know and vacuumed it out later. After I got my car back from all the work being done (it was there for a few months), my $70 LED flashlight was missing from the back seat. One time while I stopped by the shop one of the guys tried to undercut Mark and give me his friend's number to repaint my car for cheaper. I tried to call Mark a couple times to talk about these issues but didn't get a call back, so I'm posting them here. Overall, Mark is great and cares about doing a good job, but not everyone here shares the same sentiments. For the price, I would expect the complete package. read more

Owner Mark took care of my car and I would totally recommend this place. Mark is so friendly and really knowledgeable about cars, obviously, but just how the whole process of working with insurance claims. I, like other reviewers, was referred by insurance after a relatively minor collision. They did a great job on my car and it's just as good as before the accident. They were really helpful in explaining what all had to be done and what was damaged, and everything was easy to understand. I came to watch some of the work being done and I gained a whole new appreciation for what can be done to fix a car, it was nuts watching the "guts" of my car almost exposed when they took off multiple panels that were bent, damaged and scratched from the collision, as well as my front left wheel. They also re-aligned my car. Semi-unrelated to review: in the Eckhart Auto Body office, Mark has a little long-haired dachshund that is so cute and sweet (Robbie). I got hit, and Mercury Insurance pointed me in Eckhart Auto's direction. The entire experience was painless and nothing short of reassuring that there is still great customer service in this world. I immediately trusted Mark, (he has a rescue dog at the shop, and is a Kings fan - two major points in my book). My body repairs were finished really fast, but he said he wasn't completely happy with how my alignment was and wanted to keep it. The arm of the back wheel where I got hit ended up needing replacement. He ordered the part over night and he had my car back to me the next day. Still, he told me that if I felt that something wasn't quite right to bring it back in no questions asked and no fuss. Hopefully I won't need any more body repairs (fingers crossed), but if I do I will definitely go back time and time again. I just had my newer car repaired ( last week!) at eckhart on Canoga . I was hesitant to take it there as I have a Mercedes and I was worried they wouldn't do as good of a job as someone who specialized in repairing Mercedes . I was recently involved in a minor accident with a new teen driver. The teen's Dad did not want to use the insurance company because it is likely that his insurance would be raised significantly. I was referred to Eckhart Auto Body by someone I know that was pleased with work they'd had done on their vehicle. I went to Eckhart very annoyed that I had to deal with any of this. I was very apprehensive that the teen's Dad would not be true to his word and pay for the repair entirely. It was cold blind faith believing that this man would take care of the bill. Well, needless to say, Mark and Diana made this experience so easy! They were so welcoming, friendly and helpful.. After seeing my car and the repairs that were needed, they were able to give me a written estimate very quickly. They estimated the time the repair would take, and were honest about not doing unnecessary work. I explained my situation with the teen's Dad not wanting to use insurance, and Mark assured me he'd do what he could to help me secure payment. He communicated via email with this man in a very professional manner. It was such a relief for me as I was feeling a little pressured by the Dad to use a body shop he knew of. In addition, Mark and Diana referred me to the rental car company nearby. Well, I got my car back and the work is beautiful! You would never know the rear panel had that unfortunate meeting with the new teen driver! I was also impressed that the work was able to be completed in two days, and my car was well cared for. They returned the car in better shape than when I took it in....cleaned and ready for me to smile! Thank you to all the Eckhart family. I will refer you to everyone. Last week I pulled too far into a parking space at a Chipotle and all-but knocked the bumper off of my temperamental 2006 Honda Civic. Fearful for what this could mean for my wallet, I had my boyfriend reattach my bumper and took it to Eckhart for a check-up. I'd never been before, but my mom recommended them so I figured I'd include them in my rate-shopping. I stopped in around 3:45 and waited for about 10 minutes to be seen. Their waiting area is filled with LA Kings memorabilia so I was easily distracted. I then met with Elmer who went out with me to check my car. He inspected my bumper, pushing, pulling and prodding before he informed me he was comfortable with it as it was (cue huge sigh of relief). However, I had knocked off some sort of drip-pan from the undercarriage that was missing some of the clips that hold it in place. He said to give him 10 minutes. After 10 more minutes, Elmer drove my car back up front and told me I was done. He didn't charge me for the clips or the 10 minutes of labor. I was shocked. I've never been to a mechanic of any sort that doesn't charge for anything of which they can conjure up. I shook his hand, had a 10 minute discussion about the Stanley Cup Champion LA Kings, and was on my way. This is THE most pleasant experience I've ever had with my car (or at most places, for that matter). The staff was honest, careful, attentive and quick. I will definitely be back (although hopefully not out of necessity), and will encourage others to do the same! read more

Eckhart had performed an insurance repaint on the roof and hood of my van after a particularly nasty tree sap attacked my paint when it was only 2 years old. Since then, the paint had gone bad from being kept outside all its life and it needed attention again. I turned to Eckhart again for a little help and an estimate. They then told me that they guaranteed their paint jobs for life and that this would cost me nothing. Well, I picked it up yesterday and it looks like new again! They are such a nice, pleasant and caring team of professionals and I highly recommend going to them for all your body work and painting needs. I cannot recommend Eckhart Auto Body more highly -- they do absolutely wonderful work. This is the second car we've had repaired there and both times the work was done perfectly. In this case, they assessed the car and emailed us a thorough quote within one hour. The work was then completed in less time than originally anticipated and they kept us informed during the week they had the car so we knew exactly what was happening. They also worked closely with our insurance to make sure that our only expense was the deductible. The owner, Mark, is a warm and friendly individual who goes out of his way to ensure that customers are treated fairly. He is clear in his information and takes great pains to make sure that you fully understand what needs to be done. There is nothing confusing about his information. While I hope to never need a body shop again, this is without doubt the one I would go to should I need one and the only one that I can comfortably recommend to friends. read more

I have had work done on my car several times at this body shop. At some other body shops I have been overcharged. Maybe this is due to guys thinking I don't know anything about cars since I am a young woman. Once I took my car to a place down the street to have my bumper fixed and they told me it would be over $600 to fix my car. Then I went for a second estimate at Eckhart and they fixed it for free. They said it only needed a few screws and were fair enough to be honest and not take advantage of me. Since then I have had other work done and I have always gotten great service and a great job at a fair price. read more

My advice, be very careful before dropping your car. I took my car here to speed the processing of an insurance claim, everything indicated a job less than $1000, included a comment by them when I dropped by car in person. I got no call from them the next day so I called to ask for a status, that's when I was surprised by them telling me they quoted close to $6000! I told them I didn't want them to do the job given such quote, and they said, "too late, we already ordered over $3000 in parts". They said when I dropped my car I signed for them to fixed it, regardless of the quote they came up with. That sounds crazy. I understand getting a quote involves work and perhaps a fee, but I don't know of any scenario when you sign up for a service WITHOUT knowing the price. So they did fix my car (good job in that area, that's why the 2 stars and not 1) but definitely did not like the way they were able to charge anything they wanted without my approval. My advice, be very careful, especially if paying through your car insurance. read more
