We had a VIP over $800 and they still didn't care , I will also call my back to cancel because they never deliver what it as supposed to be. I am so thankful DC has a world-class club, otherwise, the best DJs would pass us by. Echostage has one of the best sound systems I have ever heard and the DJs know it. Zero distortion a few dB from organ collapse. On par with the top systems in New York. Visuals are good too. The crowd on the whole is great, party people take care of each other. If you want you can make new friends. The staff are awesome and super nice BUT you have to bring the good vibes; if you mouth off to them or act bratty they'll put you outside, so check your attitude at the door and you'll have a great time! Oh, and the bartenders are super super nice! You know it's a great party when the bartenders are dancing too! The only hard part is parking; lot prices are high and cars on the street get broken into...ask around or do your research if you are driving. I don't do bottle service myself, but if that's your style, it looks like they take great care of you! read more

I actually enjoyed the venue more than I thought I would, despite all the bad reviews. It's the management I have the most problems with! We got to the venue okay, taking Lyft which was about $20 from my place. Got to the venue about 11:30, inside by midnight. Line moved pretty fast outside. The bouncers took my glow sticks at the door, which surprised the heck out me, in all the clubs over the years I've been to, I can't remember the last time I had my glow sticks confiscated? My buddy and I never did find one of our friends who was there so we made our way into the crowd. Another buddy called us back and said hey we got a table! So we went to VIP and he got the champagne etc and it was a great spot to view the stage. The problems with management started when my buddy's credit card was declined for $1000 and they made me and my friend wait with the staff instead of at our table. We were fine not ordering anything else and either way the same security guard was blocking the VIP section anyways. Just didn't see the point of missing part of the show by waiting for my buddy to get his card sorted out. I also didn't have a way of knowing how far it was taking for them to get to the ATM to figure all that out. So that was really handled poorly by management. We just didn't know if we were going to be liable for his actions, it wasn't our idea to get the table in the first place! Don't they make you pay for it upfront?? Finally we were told the table was taken care of and we could go. Leaving the club was weird, a few places like McDonalds down the road to call ubers and Lyft but it could have been handled way better. Definitely take shared ride home, it was $40 for me if I wanted solo. I ended up being the first drop-off anyway! They should have had a wait spot for rides like City Winery has and some other clubs. While I was waiting for my buddy to show back up since I had his cell phone and jacket, management wouldn't really go look for him to leave their post. So finally he calls me and tells me he's home and I head home too. What a night! I did love the music and the sound and the DJ though! Armin Van Buuren himself was awesome!! But the table wasn't worth it for us, way too much $$! Advice to management: Have a 5 person minimum for VIP tables to avoid these kind of situations. Have a designated area somewhere for VIP that is alcohol-free. It would have been great to have the option for a table, even if more money, and not any alcohol involved. Would it hurt to have a sign with the wifi password somewhere by the door? Have a designated waiting area for Uber or Lyft outside the club. It's really pathetic there is none! read more

I attended an event at Echostage in August 2023. I've had 2 knee surgeries recently and consider myself to be temporarily disabled. In between acts, I sat on the floor, against the wall, near the entryway (out of everyone's way; there is no seating on the first floor). Event staff told me I could not sit on the floor. I explained that I was disabled. That did not change things. They made me get up. They told me that there was a first-come-first-serve couch on the second floor. I asked if there was an elevator to get me up there. They said there was not. It seems to me that Echostage should have reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities (a chair would have been nice). read more

Echostage is the place to be on Friday and Saturday nights for top edm DJs. I've been going to echo since it opened. Tickets range from $30-70 depending on the artist... the closer to the event date, the ticket price increase. Venue - largest venue around DC. 2nd floor is lined with VIP tables and additional bars. Merchandise table is located to the right of the stage. A designated smoking area is also located to the right of the stage (outside). Sound/Visuals - the best sound quality and visuals! Visuals depend on the artist playing the night. I have never left disappointed. **Invest in ear plugs to save your hearing, it's loud! Crowd - most shows are 18+. All gender identities and sexual orientations! Venue is packed right when the headliner starts playing (typically midnight). Drinks/Bartenders - drinks are fairly priced for a venue in DC. $6 Blue Moon, $10 Tito's and Sprite. Bottled water... not so much $5. I've never had any issue with any of the bartenders or drinks. I recommend going to the 2nd floor bars for faster service. Security/First-Aid/Staff - 5 stars to echo for ample security/staff. I always feel safe at echo. I've never had any issue finding staff when I needed assistance. Security will walk through the crowd for random checks and remove guests who need medical attention. Bathroom security staff always keeps watch and stops intoxicated males from walking in. First-Aid room is located near the entrance. Parking - free parking is sparse. If you're early or lucky, you will find parking off of Bladensburg Road, 24th Place or up towards the residential neighborhood (Channing Street), otherwise you're paying $30-$40 for parking right around the venue (Adams Place and Queens Chapel Road). Stadium Club, next door has a large lot - paid parking as well. + $5 coat check (behind the ticket counter) + security hands out bottled water 1-4 rows + photo booth to the right of the stage - occasionally drinks will be thrown from the 2nd floor, be prepared * use the halls on the sides (where the bathrooms are located) of the venue to navigate from front GA to exit/entrance instead of navigating through the crowd read more

I went to see Chris Lake at Echostage in December 2021. The show was great, vaccine cards were checked at the door, and the whole experience felt safe and fun! Things to know before you go - there's no public transit access and you probably don't want to walk around this part of DC at night. Taxis and ubers are the way to go, but it can be expensive and chaotic at the end of the night when everyone is trying to leave. Also, EDM shows start really late. Chris Lake went on just after 1am and from what I've heard that's pretty standard. Have fun!! read more

I think Echostage is one of the better music venues in the DC area in that it's spacious, clean, and has a great sound system. However, it's not in the best area. It doesn't seem to be metro accessible and parking sucks. All around the venue, folks are charging $20 to park. However, you can find free street parking in the neighborhoods, about a five minute walk away. I went to see Adventure Club recently. It wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be. I was right in front of the stage and never felt pushed around or anybody too close to me, which is good because I'm too old for this kind of thing. The duo didn't get on until 2AM! read more

This is as good as it gets for EDM venues in the US. Many top EDM headliners come her to play and tickets on average range from $30-$60 dollars, which is not expensive at all compared to places in NYC and Philadelphia. Echostage's light, sound, laser, confetti, and smoke systems are great additions to the music. It's still an experience even if you're sober because of everyone's hype and enthusiasm. They also pass out free bottled water at the front and side of the stage to help people stay hydrated. I been to at least 10 shows over the past year, and I never had a problem with security and never been kicked out, but as long as you can handle yourself, you should be fine. Drunk people at raves are inevitable. I had my fair share of drinks split on me. It does get crowded during popular shows. If you're someone who isn't too big on getting pushed around, it's usually more spacious at the back of the floor or upstairs if you're over 21. There are a lot of reviews that mention the main DJ doesn't come on until past midnight, but that's the norm for Echostage, so don't expect getting home until 3 AM or later. Doors open at 9 PM, but most people don't get there until 10-11 PM. But keep an eye out for set times to get a better idea of timing. From time to time, there are free shows, but reservations "sell" out quickly, so I'd recommend getting tickets as soon as "pre-sale" starts. It's usually max 2 tickets per order. Tip: If you don't want to pay for valet parking and are okay with walking about 5 minutes to the venue, there's free parking in the neighborhood down the bridge past Echostage where you can park for free. But I would recommend going in a group because the area does look slightly sketchy. read more

Came here last night to see Daniel Caesar perform. There was very good crowd management in terms of the amount of people that were at the venue. It definitely gave me night club vibes with the balcony and lounge area that was upstairs. The bartenders were very attentive and they had reasonably priced Heineken for like $5 which is honestly happy hour prices in the DC area. The space was so large, you can see the stage pretty much from most places in the room, especially if you stand by the bar. The sound was pretty good throughout the venue and the lights were a great show as well for Daniel Ceasar. I would definitely go back to that venue for a show. It's a little far away from where I live but doable and reasonably priced in a Lyft. read more

I come here looking for a great night with friends and can say that for a $30 ticket, you definitely get the intimacy of a small- medium size event and the intensity of the energy surrounding you. What I personally do not like about Echostage is that there is no space for sitting. You have to pay extra to get a booth for VIP, and other than that, there really is no space for sitting down, so you are standing up during the whole event. If you do want more room to breathe, there is an outdoor area towards the back. Lol, I can't believe I'm writing a review for Echostage but I kind of have to because I've been here more times than any other music venue in my adult life. To be fair, I used to frequent Echostage a lot more in my ahem, younger, years. I have always loved techno/electronic dance music since I first heard Barbie Girl (woohoo 80s/90s kids!). So that excitement kept going until adulthood, and I have been able to see artists/DJs like Skrillex and KSHMR as well as Sultan and Shepard. The price of tickets is pretty reasonable IMO, and I always have a really fun time. The show typically starts out sparse with the side acts, then once midnight hits, the crowd starts getting bigger and more loud/intense as the main act comes onstage. I used to pay to park my car right next to Echostage, but if you park across the bridge, which is just about a 5 minute walk to the venue, free parking can be found. Ubers can be hit or miss because there are so many people at the venue, so pricing can get really high for that mode of transportation, but if drinking, it's best to be safe! As I have entered into my (ahhh) fourth decade of life, my days at Echostage are probably behind me, but I'll always remember them with an energetic fist pump and confetti. read more

I MISS THIS PLACE SO MUCH!!! I lived 5 miles away in NW DC and legit spent nearly every weekend here from 2013-2015. I've been to EDC NY, EDC Vegas, TomorrowWorld, Moonrise, and plenty of smaller festivals. I've lived in PA, MO, DC, and now in Los Angeles. Hands down, my fav venue in the US, and yes, that's including all the hot spots in Vegas! This place is about as close to true raving circa early 2000s as one can get. Lax rules, no dress code, legit warehouse, and sometimes shows go until 5am. If you're coming here in your club attire for an upscale feel, turn around! This is more of a wear what ya want/do what ya want type of place. The sound and light experience here is like nothing you'll see outside of a huge festival. Right after I moved to CA in Jan 2016, I know they upgraded their lasers and sound yet again. Seriously, never heard or seen better sound and laser quality at an indoor venue or club all across the US. My memories at echostage will forever be some of my fav from my prime years of my 20s! read more

Flew in to see Above & Beyond (EDM/rave) on NYE 2022, I was hesitant making the trip based on reviews but I'm glad I did. I'd have no hesitation flying in for another rave at Echostage; in fact I'm looking forward to it. Thank you DC crowd for being so nice. While I can't comment on the sound quality for a normal concert the sound and lights for raves was excellent (much better sound/clarity than The Armory in Minneapolis). It's not going to compare to big EDC/Dreamstate stages but it's as close as it gets for a venue like this, and much nicer than some of the venues in the Bay Area (The Midway SF, or San Jose Civic). It does get tight with no space to dance if you insist on being up close to the stage when many try to squeeze in (push & shove, more or less) before headliners come on stage; but there's plenty of room to dance once you step back a little. But that's the same at any venue with GA standing seats. They were regularly giving out free water bottles for those near the stage. Only downside is the location. Ride sharing was $15 to get in, $47 to get out + tip from downtown (16th & K streets); sounds bad but I was expecting much worse for trying to go back downtown at 3am on NYE. read more

I went to see deadmau5 here. I'm not going to review the concert but I will say I do love this venue. The sound from every corner downstairs is consistent and incredible. The bathroom was clean and there was little to no wait in getting a drink, even with a sold out show. That being said.... There were a lot of people at this show. Even with it being a sold out show, I don't think it's necessary to fill the venue to capacity. Also I wish there were chairs outside in the smoking area at least... People were sitting on the ground. Finally, I wish the website made it easier and explained how to get upstairs to the *vip* section.. which is just the bottle service tables... Maybe give the option to apply for bottle service when buying tickets? Also, if you get bottle service and a table, are tickets included in the price? More info please. read more

Even giving this place one star brings me pain. Despite having tickets and looking forward to the event, I was denied entry because I was deemed "too drunk." While I understand the importance of safety the staffs approach was rude and lacking empathy. Not only did I miss out on the concert that I was looking forward to, but I was also treated disrespectfully. I really appreciate this venue. It's really well managed for an EDM music venue because I've experienced much much more leading to chaos. I've been twice now, once in GA and once with table service. Both times were really enjoyable and organized. I LOVE that they checked vaccines (before it was mandatory) and did a security check. The bar was easy to get to in GA and the bathrooms were big! So never a major line. With table service, I was actually very impressed. Staff came by constantly and cleaned the table, replenished mixers, ice, water, etc. Staff constantly walked around with flashlights (and even helped a few of us with lighting for photos) and was always present and always attentive. Call me an old lady, but I really appreciated their service. When you pay that much to have a good experience and an "elevated" experience, you should also feel safe and taken care of. Great job Echostage. I'll 100000% be returning often as my love for EDM will never fade. But this venue is top-notch for being one of the only ones around in the DC area. read more

We had a good time with service, but we came for the Timmy Trumpet concert and decided to leave at 1 am because we had been there since 9:20 and he didn't arrive then, and we're upset because we paid for Timmy trumpet and not the other artists. Awhile Imanbek was a great artist and DJ, we were expecting Timmy Trumpet to arrive by 12, and he didn't arrive by the time we left at 1. So next time, if management negotiates a deal with him, please include he comes out around 11:45 pm - 12:15 am because his coming out took too long, and his support didn't come out till 11:45 pm. I used to love echo but not any more. Zero presence of EMT's at the venue. None, anywhere. Opening up more VIP tables so downstairs was completely overcrowded. There was absolutely no room to move. I watched so many people pass out and have seizures and there was no medical personnel anywhere. Too dangerous. Too negligent. I felt so unsafe. Also, the bottle girls were completely silent. I can recognize that the sound and lighting systems make it a nice EDM performance space, but I don't know if I'll see another show here without having the luxury of a balcony spot. Must be fun to be one of the performance backup dancers. Venue capacity is stupidly high (think DAR scale with wider wings), allowing for the admission of many rave-ready creepers. Dress code runs from casual to ho-bag. Tank tops, shorts, trucker hats, neon, mesh. Any shoes you wear will get scuffed, stepped on, and spilled on. Drink lines at the side bar are surprisingly good because nobody in the pit wants to lose their spot; mounds of trash underfoot by the end of the night for the same reason. Pours are so-so, sizing small and pricing high, no glass containers, credit cards kosher. Neighborhood borders on sketchy but with a buddy system I found security was okay, mostly at audience perimeters and outside... maybe because of Stadium Club next door. Admission lines were pretty efficient. There really isn't enough manpower to try to patrol the crush of humanity inside, so you'll notice a lot of indoor smokers, wacky and not. Cops and rental security are around at concert finish hour to redirect pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Street parking is very competitive in the immediate area, but there are at least two $10 parking lots 2-3 blocks further out which are as legit as chain link lots get. I wouldn't walk from the Metro by myself, but supposedly there's a shuttle available. Constantly avoiding the grindfest of desperation left me feeling filthy. Dress like a bum and you'll still get groped if you can dance. Yes, I almost got into a fight defending my honor. No, I didn't get kicked out. read more

Terrible customer service. I regularly attend shows here to see my favorite artists. I unfortunately had a family emergency arise in recent weeks, and cleared all my plans for the rest of 2022. I contacted all the venues and production companies regarding my situation so that I could receive a refund or voucher for my tickets. All other venues responded (Anthem, 930 Club, Flash, Black Cat, and DC9), EXCEPT Echostage. I tried contacting Echostage weeks ahead of the show via email, phone, Facebook, and Instagram. After waiting 2 weeks with no response to my 10 attempts, I thankfully found someone to resell to. Echostage doesn't make reselling tickets easy for fans either - they haven't enabled reselling on Ticketmaster. This experience tells me Echostage doesn't care about leaving fans high and dry. read more

Okay Echostage, you're doing MUCH better now. We came back this past weekend for Ferry Corsten and Markus Schulz (two awesome artists back-to-back!) and there were a few improvements made. The sound system was bumping, (lots of bass!) the lightshow was above average, security and coat check were quick and efficient, and there were fans blowing. Parking is still expensive, ($40 in the garage, the strip club, and the lot) the drinks are overpriced even for DC, but at least Glow seems to be bringing in some of the biggest EDM artists. read more

Their drinks are in tiny cups, but other than that, this is a solid place for popular EDM and trance DJs. It definitely is my favorite DC spot at the moment. I saw Aly and Fila and Dash Berlin this past weekend. Lasers and visuals were on point and it was great getting front row at Aly and Fila. A friend of mine got backstage passes and watched both from the stage-side. There are two levels: the ground level and upper balcony, but I prefer being on the ground level. They are bringing Tiesto next month. The other time I came here, I saw Audien and Madeon. Hella good show then, too. The dress code is wear whatever. You can choose to doll up in club style or dress down in raver gear. It's up to you. read more

EDM: Electronic Dance Music. If you want to see a show with that kind of music, this is the spot that has those kind of shows. While the shows are a lot of fun as they should be, there are some annoyances that bother me: -Lack of cleanliness. If you arrive early it looks spotless but once things get under way, be prepared to step on a bunch of debris especially if you're in the middle of the floor. If you drop something you better nab it right away or else it's crushed or becomes someone's third shoe. -Age limit is 18. Not a fan of people under 21 coming into the venue. Watch for those who have a black X on their hand. I've had some try to get me to buy them drinks and I almost fell for it. Next time I'm asking to see their hand before we start conversing. -Parking. I normally park at the lot near the Checkers. It's 20$ which is considered a good deal compared to paying $35-40 near the venue. Plus from what I've heard, it's not unusual to see any suspicious people surrounding your vehicle when unattended so either park away from the venue or get transportation there. While those factors could be improved upon, the venue has awesome sound quality (earplugs recommended) and they have great lineups of artists (mostly EDM and hip-hop). Expect to have loudness in your ears, $$$ to spend on drinks and to be out late! read more

This place has poorly gone downhill for many reasons: 1. The parking has always been bad around this area but the garages are now charging $30-$40 when it has always been $20 to park. Are they insane?! I feel like they are taking advantage by increasing the prices. The guy we were dealing with told us that in order to park inside the fee is $30 but outside the garage is $40. Where is the logic in that? 2. They oversell the tickets for these events. I came this past Saturday for Afrojack and the venue was way too packed! I have been attending events at Echostage since 2014 and I don't remember feeling like a sardine in a can. There was no space to dance or move at all. I don't remember it being this bad before but that is just me. This is not my first rodeo at an EDM concert! I understand there will be pushing and shoving but Saturday night was horrible. 3. "Security" in the restroom is ridiculous. The same lady saw me twice go to the bathroom and assumed that I was "throwing up." She grabbed my wrist and cut my wristband off and had her partner drew two big x's on both hands. I was not a drunken mess just tipsy and I politely told her that I was fine and her accusation was wrong. It wasn't worth the argument so I walked out before she threatened to kick me out of the venue. My friends were on the upstairs level by the stairs to watch Afrojack (again there was no space on the lower level to move or breathe) and the guy that was working told me that I wasn't allowed up there because of the X marks. I tried to explain to him what happened and he was obnoxious and told me to leave. 4. Drinks are way overpriced!!!!!!!!!! My friend recently attended a concert at The Anthem and drinks were cheaper. $8 for a rum and coke and this place is brand new. 5. The crowd........who are letting these kids in? Please make a new rule for this place and you can call it KEEP YOUR SHIRTS ON rule. People do not feel like getting drenched with other peoples sweats. We get that you work out but seriously. The venue is already crowded as is so I don't need your stench on my clothes. In conclusion, that will be the last event I will ever attend at Echostage. Help me understand how this place is still rated number one in the nation. For the people that are not familiar with this place, please do yourself a favor and save yourself. I have been to Echostage more than a dozen times in the past (see my previous review), especially since a lot of big-name artists are booked here, and because I used to live in the DC area. However, this past weekend while visiting, I realized this place changed drastically, and is complete trash. I bought a ticket to see Alison Wonderland from a friend of mine at face value. The place definitely has gone downhill. I remember my first show here was Above & Beyond 4-5 years ago. The place is overbooked, for bloody sure. No space to move whatsoever. And I don't want to hear that lame excuse from the pretentious people upstairs who blow $100+ on a table every single weekend because they're doing nothing with their lives and who say that's the only way to enjoy a show at echostage. If that's the case, NO thanks. HARD pass on this place. AWFUL venue. I've seen pushy and aggressive bouncers slam drunk people into you and try to kick you out for doing nothing to them, extreme over-crowding, fire hazards, no ventilation, and the list of despicable behavior goes on.,. The same people go here every weekend and I just want to say good riddance I've moved on to better places and venues. I'm glad one perk of not living near DC anymore is that I now go see concerts and shows primarily at other venues and cities. Officially done with this place and won't recommend to anyone I know from out of town, or coming into town. read more
