We had premium box seats with in-seat service, which allowed us to place orders throughout the show; my husband and our friends took advantage of that convenience. Other amenities at the concert hall include a lounge with a full-service bar that opens 90 minutes before showtime and is exclusive to guests for the first hour. There is also a rooftop area, available for select performances, that offers impressive views of the Capital, along with merchandise available for purchase. A quick note for visitors: small bags up to 12" x 6" x 12" are permitted, and all bags are searched prior to entry. We came to see Brit Floyd, and everything about the experience was exceptional--the service, the acoustics, the laser and screen visuals, and the intimate feel of the venue. read more

Warner Theatre leaves me with mixed feelings. I've attended several events here over the years, including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater performances and The Nutcracker during the holidays, and those experiences were excellent. The theater itself is beautiful--its decor always gives me a jazz-era renaissance vibe that adds to the atmosphere. Recently, I came to see Lalah Hathaway and Robert Glasper, and while the show itself was great, the acoustics for live music were unfortunately not. From where I was seated, it was difficult to clearly hear the vocals, which took away from the performance. The venue itself is stunning and has hosted some memorable shows for me, but based on this experience, it seems better suited for theater and dance performances than for certain live music concerts. Despite the sound issues, I still enjoyed the show as much as I could and would return for the right performance. read more

I've been to this theater a few times for plays and love how it is set up lost of sits for the crowd. Came on Valentine's Day 2026 for Set it Off which happened to be on a Saturday night! The crowd was interactive and there was an incident but the security quickly escorted them folks out... expeditiously...lol. The theater is massive so wherever you at in there you going to see the show. I gave them 4 stars because you have to go downstairs for the bathroom and you will lose cell phone service. Which was not a good thing especially if you get separated from your folks you can't contact them. It was really crowded so not having cell service is not a good thing. And not sure why the bathroom is all the way down all those stairs... The bar game need to step up their game as the options were very limited so not sure if it was the event or the theater. But just those couple of things they could improve on would make it great. The garage situation could be better as you have to walk across the street. But it's not just a big deal a lot of parking which is very important when in the city! Until next time... read more

The Warner Theatre gets one star for the location and another star for the venue. It is beautiful! They lose three stars for their SHADY business practices. I attended a viewing of the Set It Off play today (which was amazing). I purchased tickets a few days ago and received an email about upgrade options. I saw that I could get a suite for $40/per guest. I decided to wait until I spoke to my husband about it. The next morning, I checked the website and the price was $40. I sent a request and got a response from Esme. She left a voicemail stating that it would be $160 for two guests.... what?! I followed up via email and asked why would it cost that much when it is $40 per guest. She informed that the price recently increased because it was almost sold out... that did not make any sense to me. Why would it increase suddenly like that? It literally was one price in the morning and another in the afternoon. It's giving scam. I don't plan on patronizing this business again due to this incident. read more

We were in the upper balcony in the very last row and had a great view of the stage. The only complaint I had was the heat. It was so hot up there I had to take a few bathroom breaks so my kids and I didn't overheat. Good DC Theatre -- Music Concerts & other Events Intimate theatre which excellently sized for musical events and personality events. I've seen Somebody Feed Phil, the star of the Netflix series about food and travel, foodie travel. They had a pseudo living room set up on stage where he spoke about food, travel and funny moments while filming. I also recently saw Peruvian American mega stars, Tony Succar and his amazingly talented Mamí, Mimy Succar. Their performances was incredible, it had my whole body and soul moving to the music. They had adult beverages in the lobby, which were strong and priced for the location. Now, entering the theatre was super smooth and easy, and the ushers were helpful and friendly. I saw "The Nutcracker" live and it was an unforgettable experience. The theater is the perfect size with just the right amount of seating and perfect layout. The theater staff were friendly and helpful in both food services and navigating the busy venue. The merchandise out front was reasonably priced as well! We purchased an authentic nutcracker for $65! The menu was fine. It could have expanded with more sophisticated drinks... like martinis or White Russians... the snacks were fine... popcorn, soft pretzels, candy... I could have gone for a healthier option, like nuts, but maybe I am just knit picking now... Parking was convenient! We paid $25 online in advance and were able to park right across from the theater. No issues navigating in or out pre and post show! Overall an amazing night. 5/5! read more

We came for an event of the Alvin Ailey dance group. The seating down in the Orchestra section wasn't bad and we were able to see the stage with no issues. However, many guests were choosing to stand in the aisle during intermission and there was no ushers directing people to allow to be seated our move elsewhere to not block the aisles for people who were trying to grab snacks and or use the restroom. It created what I view as a safety hazard as people were stuck and weren't able to move. read more

There are refreshments stands on several levels where you can but food (snacks) and drinks. The balcony seats are actually great and give a great view! You can pay ahead for their conducted parking garage. Take the elevator up and you can gain entry directly without having to go outside. Download the Ticketmaster app for fast check-in. Gorgeous historic theater in downtown DC. I have been lucky enough to see a few shows in this venue and it is a treat every time. I am always in awe of its beauty and charm. From the decorative trim, red carpets and classy atmosphere; you are reminded of old theaters from the past. I saw the Washington Ballet's The Nutcracker recently and it was fantastic! I was glued to the stage the entire night. I would recommend catching this classic when you can! I can't wait to return to this venue for more shows. My wife and I attended the ABC and Howard Jones concert at the Warner Theatre. It is a great venue, and I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. The lobby is a bit tight, especially with a souvenir stand set up. Drinks are obviously expensive. Seating is a bit "close", but that's standard for a venue of this vintage. Just saw The Nutcracker ballet and it was a delightful experience! The show was at 7pm and we arrived a bit after that, grabbed cocktails, and sat down. No wait at the bar and folks helped us find our seat. We were in orchestra row M 110-113 and seats were nice and close to the stage and right in the center. Venue is gorgeous and was a great holiday show! Looks like they also serve snacks too. read more

I agree with others that this historical theater is a gem. There isn't a bad seat in the orchestra section as the main floor of the theater is inclined downward. Saw the Washington Ballet's version of The Nutcracker yesterday. Am impressed with the professionalism of staff and how curtain time is respected, not always easy to do with a full house. The food and drink offerings are interesting, and the bar staff works hard to accommodate theatergoers. There's also a nice Sugar Plum Shoppe with all sorts of merch, including Christmas tree ornaments, nutcrackers (of course), hoodies, T-shirts, bags, etc., with the Washington Ballet logo on them. I assume this "gift store" happens when other productions are here, selling their goods as keepsakes too. The Warner was built in 1924 as a movie palace presenting live vaudeville and first run silent films. It's still going strong today. I do love it. read more

It a gorgeous theatre and easily accessible by the metro. Saw the Nutcracker- it was so very cute with all the kids! The sets and costumes are amazing! The theatre itself is older. With that being said, seats are lowered, no elevator to upper floor. Bathroom is upstairs. An allowance was made for my Mom to use the downstairs one, but I don't know if that's guaranteed. (She has trouble with stairs). I've been here for food and drinks before and they have a pretty good selection. Of course, things are expensive than CVS. I love the options upstairs for seating with the smalls table. It's a beautiful venue, just wish it were accessible for more people who have trouble getting up and down from lower seats or trouble with stairs. read more

Cashless = communist. When forced to use a (credit) card, I am forced to give up my right to privacy. Cash lets me remain anonymous. On their website under the "Day of Show" post, they do state that the venue is cashless, but by then I had already purchased tickets. On another "note" (pun intended), the venue is weak for listening to rock music. The bass backline provided by the Warner is nearly non-existent. We listened to 2 bands in one evening, and both bands could have left their bass players home since their contributions were nullified. read more

The theatre itself is historic and beautiful. The customer service leaves a lot to be desired. The Warner Theatre management has updated its policy to become a digital, cashless, iPhone operated company. Translation -- cheap. That's called cheap. 'Let us provide you as little as possible.' The parking garage is horrible. Not because of the garage itself, but because of how you are now required to pay. My date pre-paid for the parking, trying to make it easy, and when we arrived, he should have just been able to print out a parking stub, drove into the garage, taken the stub inside and had it validated by the theatre's staff. Instead, a lady physically stood in front of us as we drove in, told us we had to go inside, and get our parking validated inside. Without a parking stub. Odd, but fine. Off we went. The journey up to the theatre from the garage goes through a beautiful shared lobby (with other office buildings) and an escalator or two. Then through another staircase, you get to the lounge and security. After security, a lady with an iPhone scanner tried to scan people's phones and had issues because of course, they weren't printed tickets. Again, that's called cheap. I was annoyed that they didn't provide printed tickets or even the option of asking for one in sight for posterity. Even though my date had the ticket on his phone with included payment for parking, the ticket lady wanted him to go back down to his car and get his license plate number and provide it to her so she could document it. There was a huge line of people and that wasn't really our problem. I thought she was joking and said, "Are you serious?" She said, "Oh yeah, it's real easy." We were dressed in evening wear for the theatre and to be asked to walk through a few flights of stairs, lobbies, and escalators to a parking garage so she could document his license plate number, come on. Just print out the ticket stub when we enter the garage and let us pay when we leave. What is all this nonsense? To add insult to injury, as you have seen on so many negative reviews, the cashless bar was expensive and not very interesting. It was -- cheap. Again, when you take away the physical, the service becomes really cheap. Come on Warner Theatre, make some effort. This is a beautiful, high end historic theatre. Final insult, when we arrived at the actual stage doors, there was no program, but a QR code, Again, CHEAP. Oh my God. The local high school theatre will print out a program. For $300+ dollar tickets and $25 for a cup (not a glass, but a cup) of wine, print out a gorgeous, professional program one can add to one's collection. I don't want to use my phone, I want you to do the work and let me take the night off. The theatre was beautiful. The Nutcracker was beautiful. But it was soured by management. read more

The Warner Theatre opened 100 years ago as a "Picture Palace" movie theater. Stepping inside transports you back to a time of old-world glitz and glamour and it's an amazing setting for a show. I have read quite a few reviews stating how tight the seating is. Maybe I am just used to sitting in older theaters but I didn't think the seats seemed particularly small or close. (It would have been nice if there were drink holders but I don't know where they would put them). Our seats in Row O were excellent, our view only marred by the handful of people a few rows ahead who insisted on "dancing" throughout the majority of the concert. I get it, sometimes you just gotta get up and move and I don't begrudge anyone a dance to their favorite song. But, when you are up and about constantly during every song and the entire rest of the theater is seated, you are being rude. It was a treat to see a concert in a more intimate venue where no "screen" was needed to see the facial expressions of the performers. Pros - Beautiful building, quite a few stalls in the bathroom, friendly and helpful security and ushers. Cons - small, crowded lobby, particularly with merch on one side and bar on the other. read more

My husband and I went to the Warner Theatre for the first time on Saturday. We had tickets to see Trevor Wallace, one of our favorite comedians. The theatre is close by to Metro, so we took that to get there. I had never been, so I checked online about their bag policy. I saw they don't allow backpack purses, but since I have multiple medical conditions I have to carry around medication for, that's pretty much the only thing I can fit them in. I gave them a call and they said that was fine as long as they checked my bags. We got in pretty easily after the bag check. There are bathrooms on the bottom and top floor, and a bar with some snacks and drinks (be aware the cheapest drink I saw was $18 - not worth it imo). Our seats were up in the balcony, but we had a great time and a good view. The show was funny, and the interior was gorgeous. Very ornate and old! I will come back. read more

It is a beautiful and older theater in downtown DC. So accessible by multiple metro lines at Metro Center and not too far from Gallery Place and multiple bus lines. It is great that they have shows here so you have a more intimate location without having to truck all the way to the Kennedy Center. The seats feel way more cramped than the other theaters in the area so if you are taller, there is not much leg room. People were snapping pictures during the show and that took away from some of the experience as well. The ushers were not the most helpful when it came to finding seats. Also, this is a historic location so know that it is not ADA accessible for the upper levels. So many stairs to get to the upper balcony and there is no elevator. Came here for the Nutcracker and it was packed. Be ready because there are a limited number of stalls on the second floor so everyone was racing before and during intermission. With all of the children it made for long lines. The drinks are expensive so I would suggest going out to one of the other bars nearby if you want something before or after the show. Also would avoid the food here because your options seemed pretty limited. read more

I had a very festive evening at a Drag Queen Christmas at the Warner Theater recently. To me, it seems a bit early for a Christmas performance, but it was only appearing a single night, so I decided to get in the holiday spirit when I had the chance. I've been to the Warner for other events in the past and it's one of my favorites. It's large enough to host large productions but intimate enough that you still feel close to the action. The show had several performers that were veterans of RuPaul's Drag Race so the this wasn't anything like your typical gay bar drag show. Very professional. Costumes, performances, and staging were all top quality and well worth admission. My group was four rows back from the stage, so the view was great! I don't normally take photos during live performances, but I didn't see or hear the usual "photos and videos of the performance are prohibited" and it seemed everyone else was snapping away so I took a few myself. (And yes, before you ask, if my friends jumped off a bridge...) The starring queen was Crystal Method and she had everyone in stitches with her costumes (see attached "Drag Snow Bunny" photo) and off-color humor. It was my first Drag Queen Christmas but I enjoyed it so much that I'll definitely be doing it again. read more

We went to see Drag Queen Christmas 2023 the other night and from the moment we arrived at the theater outside, we noticed a very organized and secure process for entering the theater. Not sure if it was because of the show or because crime in DC has increased and people are little more anxious about being in DC,, but there was extra security presence for the event both inside and out. Glad to see and we felt very comfortable. ALL the staff running the event, from outside to inside to usher's etc were pleasant and helpful when asked questions. The bathrooms for men & women were clean and monitored. Our seats were very comfortable as some theater seats bother our backs. Tight seating, but comfortable. The theater looked kept up and very festive. The show was great. Our 2nd year going; however, we did feel last year was slightly better. Couldn't pinpoint why we felt that way. It was high energy but we think last year had more variety than this year in the fact that each queen came out once in the first half, did their routine, spoke to the audience for a little while and came back in 2nd half for 1 additional song. We were disappointed that Todrick Hall was not present as originally advertised in the promo videos, but Crystal Method IS SPECTACULAR AND AWESOME artist. I would have loved to see more of her!! All in all a great holiday show for adults, great show and very enjoyable. And great theater to see performances at. Recommend! Just be mindful if you have mobility challenges, balcony is STAIRS only And that applies to the upstairs restrooms. I don't know if there's an elevator for the downstairs restroom as we were directed upstairs when we arrived as there was a private function downstairs going on. PARKING: We usually utilize one of the parking apps prior to the show. Easy walking from several available locations. Metro is also an easy walk. read more

It is infuriating that you don't take the time to let your patrons know that an event has been postponed with days of anticipation. An event is never postponed within a day or hours. And we have to find out just when we arrive to the doors of the theater. I attended to the Yuri's concert 8/31 at 7:30 pm and found out that "we were notified" when that's not true. Shame on you. You should do a better job, even tho, part of your event tickets are managed by a 3rd party #ticketmaster shame on you too read more

I have been to this theater before however, this is my first review. Parking is tight in the area as far as street parking especially when events are happening. There is garage parking available directly across the street. What I absolutely love was the accommodations made for my party and I from the box office staff. Prior to this show, I sustained an injury in which I couldn't climb stairs. I was thinking about just not coming however, I emailed the box office prior to the show as my tickets were on the balcony level. I was told to come directly to the box office to request additional handicap accessible seating and my request was granted. I was very appreciative of the staff for not only providing handicap seating for me but, my entire party of 3. The staff near the coat check assisted me with entering and exiting the restroom door since I had crutches it was my new normal to see things from a different perspective. I was unable to open doors with handles while pulling the door back with crutches as I was in a boot with non weight bearing status. Thanks to the staff for being so accommodating and helpful to me while in the theatre. You never want to feel like a burden to anyone while you are trying to enjoy yourself so, those simple gestures meant a lot. I will definitely return again. read more

I went to the Warner a few weeks ago for a show, and the venue was a pretty typical one for theater or large comedy shows. I had pretty good visibility for a short girl up on the balcony, and the bar had good options. Has some old theater/historical charm. On the other hand, could their seats be any tinier or their aisles any closer together - especially in winter when we all have our big coats on?! Fine, but nothing special. What an amazing space!!! This theatre hosted an unconventional event, the sonic symphony. There were thousands of fans, yet the building wasn't overcrowded. Plenty of space to move around, rest areas, bars & merchandise area. The staff definitely knew what they were doing, we were checked in & seated in moments. Anytime I got lost, there was a person available to guide me. Restrooms were clean & lots of stalls on each floor. Two bar areas, upstairs & downstairs and a huge grand stage area for the performances. Thousands can be entertained here & it was a lovely hidden gem by the metro center station. We were on time and followed staff instructions and they kicked us out of our front row, center stage seats. We paid for the best seats in the house, and showed up early to the theater. The show before ours ran late and security turned us away so we couldn't wait in line. We came back an hour later as instructed. When we finally got into the theater, they had placed another group in our seats and would not honor our tickets despite the fact that we did everything they told us to do. I realized that in my 16 years living in the DC area, I think my recent trip to Warner Theatre was my first? It's nice!! The lobby area is somewhat small but it's beautiful. The fact the bar takes up the entire room is nice because it's easy to get a drink. Another bar downstairs with the bathrooms - of which there were PLENTY, which allows for quick lines during intermission. The theater itself is also very nice. The Warner, celebrating its 100th year is in great shape. Super acoustics, detailed decorative trim and red carpets the classic venue offers any show an upgrade just from the environment. Before tip, single mixed drinks run $14 at the cashless lobby bar and pomelo juice was a whopping $18. Some folks said their seat was uncomfortably small and tall people mention a lack of leg room. I noticed ample accommodation for mobility impaired patrons. Parking in nearby garages is expensive but it is a block from Metro and is easy for taxi/Uber, etc. to find the 13th and Pennsylvania location for drop off and pickup. There is a bag check policy and only small bags are allowed in the theater, otherwise it is put into a locker for pickup after the show. If you need medication, pack a separate bag. read more

I watched the Nutcracker Ballet here on a Sunday evening. It was so magical! Bravo to The Washington Ballet and the Warner Theater! It was very straightforward to enter - make sure you check the restrictions on bags and things you can bring in, as you go through a security check first before entering the building. Then the staff scans your ticket and you enter into the theater lobby. Straightforward path to the seats either on the main floor or upper floor. For the Nutcracker it was VERY crowded so I highly recommend you get to the theater 30 minutes before, as it made it much less stressful. Much crowding in the lobby by the concession stand and the Nutcracker merch stands. There are a ton of ushers that help you get to your seat (thank goodness, because the seats are a bit confusing as they are not in numerical order as you would expect). read more

We came to the Warner Theatre on Saturday October 12, 2024 to see Anne Wilson. We had never been here before but it was nice. This is the Warner Theatre's 100th anniversary. It's a nice old antique looking theatre. The seats were comfortable. However there is no elevator only stairs. There is a parking garage attached to the building.
