Echostage is one of the better-managed venues I've been to when it comes to both crowd control and overall experience. Even when it's packed, it never feels overly suffocating like some other spots. There's usually space in the back of the venue and the top right corner if you want some breathing room or to step away from the main crowd. The venue is split into two levels, with the upstairs area being 21+. If you're going for table service, the upstairs is where it's at. Tables line the upper level and give you a great view of the stage. Prices vary by artist and placement, but expect to pay a premium--some of the front-facing balcony tables go for thousands. Definitely a splurge experience, but the service is solid and well-organized. There are bars on both sides of the venue, both upstairs and downstairs, and the bartenders are fast. Even on busy nights, lines move quickly and it's never a painful wait to grab a drink. Bathrooms are surprisingly clean for a venue this size, and there are usually stalls available or lines that move fast--definitely a plus. There's also a ton of security out front, and they do a great job keeping things orderly. The check-in process is quick and efficient. Parking is available right outside the entrance for about $40, and they only take cash, so be sure to come prepared. It's convenient if you want to be close and avoid walking too far at night. Overall, Echostage strikes a good balance between high-energy crowds and well-run logistics. A great venue whether you're on the floor or doing bottle service upstairs.

My favorite club in DC! There is a huge dancefloor with ample room for how many people show up at each show except for the most popular artists. Tables are on the second floor, meaning that they don't block the view for those dancing. Screens are decent and there are some cool lasers and lights. Acoustics are great no matter where you stand. Plenty of bathrooms so you'll never have to wait. I don't drink so I can't comment on alcohol prices but there's free water! Do note that ADA accommodation seems pretty difficult to get here... I've emailed the club and they haven't responded to me in weeks. If you want it then you might have to pester someone about it.

Timmy Trumpet was my first time at Echostage. The parking situation really isn't the best in the area - feels super sketchy, and the area is quite dark and hard to find if you're coming in for a late night concert. My partner and I decided to use the valet parking for $30 (cash only) for ease near the venue and pregame in the car; I definitely wasn't feeling like $50 on a few drinks in the venue. Walking to the venue wasn't too bad from there. Lin for security was about a 20 minute wait. Security was really strict and wouldn't let us eat the rest of our Hi-Chew candies outside the venue and had us throw it out... I definitely was upset about that since they're a premium pre-rave candy. Overall, the lighting and the show was great, but the venue itself felt crowded and therefore less than clean. However, ladies there are an abundance of bathroom stalls so there will never be a wait for the bathroom so that is a plus; also semi-clean. Would I recommend? Only if it's someone you REALLY want to see. Other than that, there are definitely better venues in the areas that I would recommend over Echostage.

One of the best venues for edm sound but too loud at times even w quality ear plugs. No menu with drinks to see prices and such nor a smart code to scan a menu. No baskets to put personal belongings in for security. They get too many customers to not have this. Some of the lighting makes you feel like things are moving or coming at you or flashing like crazy. It can be fun but a lot to take in for a concert that lasted over 5 hours. I came right in at 9 PM left at 2:15 AM, and heard the music still blaring around 2:45 AM passing through on the outside. Maybe if they allowed in/out, this wouldn't be such a big deal to me, but that would put a strain on security and much higher prices too- definitely not an option here. Probably a good option for a Taylor Swift concert. I had nothing to drink and no (illegal) drugs and those effects are part of the lighting effects. I can't speak for others (rofl) Security does a good job here. Still would come but could do better.

Sound system in this venue was awesome

I've been to a lot of venues and this place is top notch. As a EDM enthusiast the staff was wonderful. Passed out water, made sure everyone was safe and kept the vibe high with care both nights for LSZee. I will definitely come back to this venue. Bathrooms were clean, bartenders were nice and it all just enhanced our experience. Thank you Ecostage for creating such a wonderful place to enjoy our music in the city. Great job!!!

The lighting is freaking amazing...drinks aren't badly priced, and the front staff are kind and respectful. The only probably is that I personally feel they allow too many people inside. No room to dance, people are pushy and rude.

Came here for the Above & Beyond New Year show. This hybrid nightclub and concert venue feels a bit more like a concert venue. After living in Miami and loving the electronic music scene there, I think I was expecting it to feel more night clubby than it did. ***LOCATION*** Living in Richmond, we don't have much access to EDM venues, so it was nice to be able to take a train/bus to DC and come to Echostage. There wasn't a metro stop or easy bus we could take to this venue, so we ended up taking an uber. It was easy to find. ***EXPERIENCE*** It was a sold out show and extremely crowded. I hadn't been to an indoor concert since before the pandemic so it was a bit overstimulating. I wish they had an outdoor space to escape to, but once you leave, you can't get back in. The people I was with loved the light show. The music and lights really matched each other. I enjoyed the balcony. Although upstairs was reserved for VIP seating, it was less crowded and at the right angle, you had a great view of the stage. Watching the bottle girls walk by with flashing bottles reminded me a little of Miami. There were bars all along the venue so it was always easy to get their bottled water or something to drink. It was fun to be a part of #GroupTherapy. Above & Beyond, Andrew Bayer and Kasablanca put on a fun performance. ***PRICE*** We didn't get the cheapest tickets because we bought them after the show was sold out. We paid about $146 for the tickets. It was $5 (cash only) for coat check. ***BATHROOMS*** I have never been more grateful for a bathroom than I was at Echostage. There was never a wait for the stalls because there were so many toilets! It was a New Year's party..so it wasn't necessarily the cleanest as the night went on, but it wasn't absolutely disgusting. ***CONCLUSION*** It feels more like a concert venue than a nightclub, but it's great that it has so many big names. It can get crowded, but the balcony is a good place to get some space.

Echostage for a concert, hmmmm I did not know quite what to expect. Lodged between industrial buildings and Stadium strip club with no street parking. But I had to go because FKJ aka Funky Kiwi Juice just kicked off his tour and this was the only Atlantic region tour in the States. So, while the tickets were under $40 each, the parking was $60 per car and there was no other choice but to pay, because there is no street parking and security will roll up on you and tell you to move before you get towed. The entrance process was fast and well organized, and I must say I was impressed, it was like the 9:30 club with open walk around set up with bars on each side of the bottom floor, but upstairs they had lounge seating, more bars, and bottle service. The drinks were moderately priced, no wine though, just beer and hard alcohol. Lucky for me they had some light selections like Pilsners and Amstel Light available. The crowd was chill and sensible based on the artists' crowd; I felt safe and relaxed. The concert area, including the bathrooms are clean and the sound was excellent! When I add up the ticket costs and the parking which was right next to the entrance, it was worth the money and my trip was un-problematic. Summary: Dope Indie spot to catch alternative shows, turning out to be just as cool as the 9:30 Club, but not as fancy as the Anthem. I'm a fan!

Saw Men I Trust here back in November. I've only been to one other concert ever and it was small so I don't know much about venue comparisons but once inside, the venue is pretty big, double floors, bars, big restrooms.. When I got dropped off the line to get in wrapped around the corner but the security/event workers moved things along pretty quickly once doors opened. The security check was painless. The concert was perfect but I mean.. I credit Men I Trust for that. Once out of the concert, the police had the street blocked off so no cars could drive through. We all had to get our rides from the main street corner. Beware the street crawlers as the night progresses.. All in all, I'd return for another shindig!

Everyone who knows me, knows that I am an EXTREME Hip Hop fan! When I learned that all of the members of Griselda would be performing at Echostage, I knew I had to be there! This was my first visit to this venue and I was pleased with my experience here. The venue is quite large. It is a majority standing room only, with a downstairs area right in from of the stage and seating in the upstairs area. From what I gathered, there were a total of four bars, two upstairs and two downstairs. The drinks were kinda pricey, but that's to be expected for a venue such as this. Echostage has a WONDERFUL hvac system. The venue was packed, so they air was much needed and appreciated! The show was amazing and the sound was really good! Parking kinda sucks, but hey, it's DC! Small inconvenience for a once in a lifetime musical experience!!

Great venue but way too high of prices for mediocre drinks. Again, this is a top venue for EDM shows.

Ask the Community - Echostage

Do they check Ids for 18+ concert at Ecostage?

Yes! And security is very strict with pat downs and what you can and can not bring in.

Is there AC in the venue?

Yes

What is the age limit?

I think it depends on the show. The minimum age is 18.and there is no limit

What time does this venue closes?

Echostage typically closes at 4am. If the sets run shorter, they will kick people out earlier.

Do they have parking?

While Echostage does not offer parking, there are numerous third-party parking locations around the venue, in addition to street parking throughout the neighborhood.

Trying to get tickets to Davido on May 27th. Different sites are listing different pricing and some have multiple pricing options, all GA. Does anyone know if there is a difference between GA I, II, & III? looking at TicketFly, VividSeats, & TickPick

For concerts: No difference unless you are going for the expensive VIP booths.

So I used to go to raves back in the day at echostage. I still LOVE love love EDM and really want to go but I'm thinking I'm too old now lol. How old is too old to go to…

No age limit at all! I see people of all ages in there. You can hang by the upstairs bars if GA isnt your vibe

Dear reader, Crush…read moreDance Bar is such a fun spot and easily one of my favorite places to go out in DC. The rooftop and open-air area is so nice and gives you the perfect place to hang out, catch a little air, and still feel part of the energy, which feels like a very strong social advantage. The drinks here are seriously so good. I always go for a crush, usually grapefruit, while my husband reliably orders the porn star martini, and both are excellent. The orange crush is also great, but the grapefruit is probably my favorite. The fact that they fresh squeeze the juice right at the bar is kind of crazy and honestly feels pretty unique in the District. As for the porn star martini, it is insanely good, and the alcoholic passion fruit foam takes it completely over the top in the best way. The bartenders are incredible and so kind, which always makes a place stand out more, and the music is always great. They also have frequent live DJs in house, which keeps the vibe fun and does a great job of highlighting local talent. Every time I have been, it has been a really great time from start to finish. Overall, Crush is the kind of place that makes it very easy to stay for one more drink and a little longer than planned. I will absolutely keep coming back.

There is also valet options available too. Outside of that, let's step into the inside.... I attended Live K on a Friday night for a friends birthday. She did not book an isolated room but the opened floor was just that - an opened floor, people walking past, mics being passed around the floor, the bar steps away, all of the things. It's fun. BUT, I'm not going to lie - I will NOT order food or drinks from this place. I was told from the birthday girl that there is a happy hour with food and drinks from I think 4-7p but I arrived later than that, and paid MORE than full price for drinks in my opinion...... .....4 shots.... & 1 Red Bull, $124....... The location itself is awful but that's the wharf for you. Parking is horrible and the garage is super expensive so the new location at the harbor may be better. We had a separate room and it came with two mics which was fun for us to duet or just share a song with a friend. The database is hard to navigate and a great deal of the songs don't come with lyrics so that was a bummer. Also they don't display the song when you're singing, sometimes it would be random figures on the screen so that was different. My friend ordered skewers, wings and fries and that was fairly solid so I don't have much input there. The bathroom was disgusting. Water leaking all over the floor and trash cans overflowing. I'd come back to the location if I could carpool but with the new location at the harbor that would be easier to navigate for sure.

Cocktail Disaster: They either lack the basic ingredients or the staff has no idea/doesn't care to check how to make even a simple cocktail. The only choice is essentially beer or a crude mix: "point to a bottle of hard liquor and then to a juice/tonic to mix it with." The sound quality also leaves a lot to be desired. The Scam of a Seating Section If you decide to pay extra (in our case, double the ticket price) for a table, just forget about it. The club is a single-level space. Depending on the event organizers, there is a very good chance you are paying a premium for a loveseat located behind a standing crowd. Our designated seating section was closer to the bar, half-blocked by pillars. On top of that the organizers refused to put up barriers or enforce different zones for different ticket holders. People who were supposed to be in the standing area kept walking in and standing right in front of our table, completely blocking the view. The organizer's response: "we can't do anything". Sounds to me like, "We won't do anything because we already scammed you".
