Ok, let's start with the EXTREMELY shady area this place is located by... I went to echostage last Thursday to see Zedd, I had never been there before but I wanted to see this dj so bad that I didn't care about all the bad reviews I read. It is impossible to go to this place by metro (not impossible but too hard) which is very inconvenient for me because I wanted to drink so. After deciding who the designated driver would be, we decided to take one car. Finding parking... HARD. The parking lot right next to this place charges $30 which is the most expensive I have seen... not even in the heart of DC do u have to pay this much. Down the street, $20... still pretty high but I was so annoyed because I couldn't find parking that I just decided to pay it. Echostage itself, is ok. Bathrooms are awkwardly located in opposite sides, left side girls, right side boys. If you're new to this place... you might almost walk into the wrong bathroom. Drinks are over priced for my taste but... that's almost everywhere in DC. My bartender was nice and earned a nice tip after a few pretty strong drinks. Yes, it is full of 18 year olds acting crazy but... that is what this whole EDM movement is about. I will be coming back if any of my favorite DJs is performing there. read more

Great warehouse sized club for EMD. Lots of under 21s go here, but they seemed mature enough for their ages, and the crowd was really diverse and fun and respectful. $10 drinks and they have. $5 coat check. You can park your car in the adjacent neighborhood and not have to worry about it. read more

New DC Concert venue brings massive DJs and some other performances. Bar and bathroom waits are short if at all. Parking is a little tricky but options are available on their website. Tables upstairs are awesome, all with a view of the stage. Sound system is ridiculous. read more

I haven't been to a better club/venue outside of Miami. Great setup and amazing sound/light systems. However, it's the staff that really makes the experience the best. Management is extremely professional and the bartenders and bouncers are all friendly. Special props to VIP host Ben Lek, who is the best in DC. He goes out of his way to take care of his clients. I'm honestly so disgusted at how I was treated last night by the security at echo stage, as I was pulling my ID out the bouncer yelled in my face to get out of his line and to not return... and it was my first time even being in line. They proceeded to tell me if I didn't sober up I couldn't come in, when I wasn't even drinking, yet the women in front of me who was underage had throw up all over her and they let her in. They kept referring to me as the girl with bunny ears on my head but I didn't even wear bunny ears. So I wasted money on a ticket to not even make inside because the security mistaken me for someone completely different, I will never return worst experience I've ever had at concert and I don't recommend anyone to go until they get new staff that have some respect for paying customers. read more

Was somewhat skeptical about raging it in dc. I'm from Cali so I have a pretty high standard when it comes to partying. However, I was very shocked at how much I enjoyed this venue. We got there around 10 and from the minute we walked in it was good vibes. Nero was spinning that night, but we walked in when delta heavy was on the turn tables. I met up with some friends from Richmond and we hit up the bar. We slammed some drinks back and all of sudden nero showed up, came in started their set, looked at the crowd and said bitch I'm boss, lol. Needless to say me and the boys had an epic night. I've had my ups and downs with Panorama over the years, but Echostage is a great venue -- huge open warehouse format, not too much frill, really solid, newly installed sound system with uniform quality everywhere, nice lights but not overpowering and generally pleasant crowds. Venue is 18+ and it shows, but this space actually feels more like Nation than anything else that's opened in the last decade (and that's definitely a good thing). It's a little difficult to get to by public transportation, but the venue provides a free shuttle to/from noMA and later at night the Metro Center area so no problems there. During our last visit management +bartenders went out of their way to accommodate a special request for a medical issue and were super sweet about it, so extra stars for that! read more

Saw Beats Antique there recently. The venue itself was great, but the thing that was a deal breaker was that the bartender told me the only way to get some water was to pay $5 for a bottle. I probably won't be going back to this venue. read more

Great venue for big music acts in DC. Little details that often ruin a big nightclub experience are well thought out here. There are barely ever lines for anything - the bars are easy to get to and well staffed, the bathrooms are huge, and getting in moves really quickly. read more

This is one of the worst establishments in the city of DC. Located in a dangerous neighborhood, rowdy and disrespectful crowd. I created this yelp account for the sole reason of sharing this experience because I don't think anyone else should have to go through it and after complaints they did not issue me a refund. I bought tickets to a concert a little while back and when I was entering the establishment the bouncer impeded me from entering for absolutely no reason. I was asked to hand over my eye drops so I did and even then I was told that I would not be allowed to enter the venue. When asked for a reason why, they could not give me one. I showed my ticket again and they said they didn't care that I had purchased one and continued to not let me in for no good reason. I then contacted Echostage to at least request a refund after all of the upsets caused by being unable to attend the event and I was told I would not be refunded. This honestly just seems like a huge scheme to take people's money when they try to go to events. It is such an upsetting situation. I never leave negative reviews but after trying to solve this directly with Echostage and having such a bad outcome, I had no choice but to voice my experience and warn other people. read more

I recently went to see you Hardwell perform on 12.27.13, which was a "FIVE STAR!" What pissed me off was the SECURITY. We got cleared to go up stairs and 30 mins later some security guard came up to us and grabs us, actually he was pushing us (3 friends) off the balcony area and said you need another band............WELL the security guard clearing people should not have cleared us right??? How dare they humiliate us in front of others by pushing us away like we did something wrong.....we weren't drunk or on any shit......so uncalled for. CHECK YOUR SECURITY PEOPLE!! read more

We went to see the Chainsmokers last weekend and walked away disappointed. The first parking place we stopped at across the street was charging $30 for parking but the very next parking place we went to was only $10. Don't get conned by the parking lots. Anyway, the doors opened on time which was great! But after a trip to the bar for $12 shots of fireball, our expectations sank. The first opener didn't come on for another two hours and they were terrible. By 1AM the second (of three artists) had not even gone one stage. We ended up leaving because the majority of the crowd was 18 year olds who just wanted to get to the front row. The venue itself is amazing but not a great location. read more

I went here last night for the 1975 & to be honest, I don't think I'll be back. The venue was great, don't get me wrong. It's beautiful and staff was very friendly. I'm just more of the hole in the wall venue kind of girl. We got there at 9 am to secure our spot, hoping we'd get barricade. The canopy to wait under was nice, however the venue is in the middle of nowhere and it took me three hours to find any kind of "non tow away" zone, until I parked on the side of the street in the ghetto. Security was also great in making sure that no one got in front of us in line and they also let us in a little early. The only issue I had was the venue was too big for my liking and the crowd was really pushy, and there was no repercussions for people being jerks, even though they had to call the crowd out a few times and postpone the show. Also the fact that we waited in line for 9 hours and still didn't get barricade. Barricade holds 100 people, they said, but the last 10 reset on each side of the barricade wasn't even in front of the stage so it didn't matter. I think this club is more for EDM and raves and isn't so much for bands and whatnot. I honestly wasn't really that impressed. read more

Ignore Saam T's review, he went to a Lil Wayne concert what do you expect? This venue is a EDM venue at its finest. I've seen big names from Tiesto to David Guetta and everything inbetween. This is hands down the best venue I've ever been to. Perfect size, can fit lots of people but you always feel close to the stage, the staff is very friendly and security doesn't mess with anyone not too messed up for life or selling drugs. The light shows and sound system are top of the line and the scene is always very friendly. I can't wait to go again! read more

This is home, Great sound system music is very loud, they are organized and clean, make sure no drugs are allowed into the venue with their security. Safe, fun, always have amazing music/performers esp from Steez. If you have not been here you definitely need to reconsider that, the music connects people their are so many amazing people here, I love the staff it's all a huge family! read more

I cannot say enough about the staff at Echostage. We went this weekend with a crew of 17 people who are from all over the east coast and decided to meet up for the Don Diablo concert. From the start working with Ben Lek was simple and he took care of everything I needed to set the event up through email. He explained pricing, told me what he thought was my best option for 17 people, and answered every question I had. When we arrived the security in the VIP line was very efficient and helped us get through very quickly and with no issues. Throughout the night there were a few issues with other tables and the general admission downstairs and security was on top of everything before we could even ask. Nick in particular was excellent and communicated with us all night to make sure we had a great experience but all bouncers and staff were great. Our server Olivia was fantastic as well. She made sure we had everything we needed all night and had a great personality. The venue is excellent as far as the sound and setup and Lost Frequenies and Don Diablo tore the place down. Top to bottom the venue and staff are excellent. You are bound to have problems with that many people in one space and with alcohol involved but the staff handled everything very professionally. Overall, I would say this is an excellent concert venue. Over the years I have seen Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, and a few others. The promoters always manage to land the best acts, so they know what they are doing. The staff is always polite and friendly, and the drinks are reasonably priced. As far as parking I recommend getting here by the time the show starts, as there is usually parking on one of the adjacent properties for $20 or $30 (that's reasonable in D.C.). The other good way to get here is to take an Uber which I have done before, but reserve it in advance. The place is big and it can get kind of crowded, but that is part of the vibe of the electronic music scene, which is for the crowds to get excited and enjoy the music. Overall, I would say the atmosphere is exciting and very enjoyable. The lighting and laser effects are particularly well done. Another good feature they have is the video wall in front of the DJ booth and on the wall behind the DJ booth. The graphics on there never cease to be fascinating. There are tables available with bottle service. The facilities are modern and well maintained. No complaints. I saw Armin van Buuren last night (05-25-2017). He took the lighting and laser effects to a whole new level, so I decided to update my review from four to five stars. The graphics on the video wall were amazing. Echostage is one of the best venues I've ever experienced. I saw Eric Prydz here in February. Sound was great, the venue was huge and well-ventilated, and we actually had room to dance. The crowd was way nicer than other places too. There were a lot of bathrooms, so no line. Valet parking across the street was pleasant. Maybe we lucked out but we got our car within 5 minutes. Caveat: unless you're near the front I think it's really hard to see the stage perfectly, and I've never been here for an actual performing artists. But, love Echostage for music most of the time. They bring the right DJs, the right people, and generally the right atmosphere, at a decent price. Drinks are about the same as in every DC club, like $10-ish for shots/drink/whatever and $5 for a bottle of water, but eh, it's DC. Sound system is awesome (bring earplugs!) and so are the lights/visuals. Usually way more than enough room to dance and do whatever you want and people can be super friendly/awesome! And the bathrooms are clean. Somehow. Doors are at 9, headliners probably come on at like 11:30/12, as expected. However, when it's crowded beyond belief (read: when DJs are super mainstream), no fun at all. Chainsmokers last weekend were good, but the crowd was super pushy and kept trying to get to the front and not very plur at all. Most of them were entirely fine with shoving people out of the way to try to get to the front, and like jumping in circles knocking into people. I also got groped three times while trying to find my friends through the bar. Seriously? C'mon, we're all trying to enjoy a good time here! The press of people starting clearing out around when Adrian Lux came on (~1:45/2) and the atmosphere in the club got a lot better after that. Also saw a guy get knocked out too by someone clamoring for a fight, and then the guy ran off, and security was pretty nonplussed about it when we went to go tell them / get help, although there wasn't much they could do about it. So -1 for situations like those. Top floor is 21+, and has a couple couches in the back corners that aren't for table service if your feet need some rest, but any place with seats and a good view of the floor is almost definitely for table service. Wear whatever you want, but close toed shoes/sneakers are gonna be a lot better/funner than heels. And do yourself the favor of paying for parking, its a janky neighborhood around the club. tl;dr : Probably one of the best venues for EDM around in DC, generally well-run, just be wary of concerts you know are gonna attract a giant crowd because it might not be a good time if you're anywhere in the mass of people :( Weird mix between club and festival atmosphere. read more

I came here for Calvin Harris on my birthday weekend. We nearly died that night getting trampled by 18 year olds. It really makes me feel sad about how the EDM scene has gone mainstream. The mainstream part I don't really care about. If music's good, then I think everyone should enjoy it. However, it really bothers me that event planners and owners pack the venues over capacity to the point where: 1) it's definitely a fire hazard (think the Brazil fire); 2) it's nearly impossible to dance and have a good time because it's so crowded. The crowd dissipated within about 30 minutes of Calvin starting his set, but I think it was because people knew within those 30 minutes whether they wanted to deal with this crap or not. We stayed and waited it out, but those 30 minutes were awful. I love Calvin Harris, but I can't say it was one of my favorite shows. read more

Went to echostage for the first time this weekend to see Destroid. I went with friends who have been here many times before. I was highly disappointed. Right off the bat, the security ruined our entire night. They harassed one of my friends, accusing her of trying to give them a fake ID. It was NOT fake. It was her real ID from WV. They told her they weren't going to let her in to see the concert that she paid for until she admitted it was fake. Obviously she wasn't going to admit something that wasn't true! They eventually let her in but marked her hands so she couldn't drink. I can guarantee she will not be returning anytime soon after that debacle. Way to lose your customers Echostage. The other thing that annoyed me was the lack of an outside area. I'm not a smoker but I like to be able to get outside when the venue gets too hot. It was so hot with all of the teeny bopper, molly heads running around that I couldn't breathe, I waited in line a half hour just to get outside to take a breath! And $5 for water is extortion! The crowd this stage attracts is a very young, very rude crowd. I've been to plenty of venues and music festival where most people are incredibly respectful and if they bump you, they stop and apologize. Not this crowd. Prepare to literally be plowed through every 3 seconds by anyone and everyone. And I dont mean subtle bumps. Prepare to be knocked over if you don't have your feet firmly planted. read more

I recently went to see Boregore, and I have to say I had the best time. Great visuals, great music, nice people. You feel really safe there with security all over and they make a barrier when huge mosh pits are made. I went to the First Aid station after consuming a little too much and my friend receiving a bloody nose while in a mosh pit, and the staff was very kind and understanding. Highly recommend this place. They make sure you're not only having fun, but you're also safe at the end of the night. read more

Easily my new least favorite venue, and I've probably been to a few hundred over the years. PROS: It is easy to get to, and the bathroom stalls are plentiful, that's about it. CONS: $20 parking, curt attendants, multiple cop cars stationed outside with lights flashing, mobs of venue security, which would otherwise be somewhat reassuring but none of them do anything about the vagrants harassing patrons for money right at the doors, and they treat patrons like criminals. Bathroom attendants are nice but I don't need Drakar Noir or to pay money to dry my hands. Drinks are a little pricey (think arena prices), excessively bright lighting in the upper level is distracting during showtime, they block roads so exiting after the show is difficult... I'm truly not one who enjoys complaining publicly, but this place seriously felt like the "Under-Underground Music Festival" skit they used to do on SNL. Avoid if at all possible. read more

If you want to see some great music, hang with great people, and dance -- go to 930 Club, Rock & Roll Hotel.... pretty much anywhere in DC except here. If you like a wildly oversold show where you're pushed around by wasted 19 year olds all night, then this is the venue for you. There's nothing like getting laid upon all night by guys who are either throwing their elbows around or making out with some disgusting girl they found that night. Please do not see a concert here. I went on Saturday to see lil Wayne worst experience ever and I've been to many concerts. I got here at 8 something for a show to start at 9. Stood in line for about 15 minutes not bad at all. There was a cut line for $40 and parking was $40 before 9 smh. Got in nice sized venue, nice lights, a lot of bathrooms. I didn't get a drink bc I just wanted to get to The front. Had GA seating. Was 3 rows back from the front. Julez Santana came on at 11:45 and was done before midnight cool He's the opening act don't expect much. Lil Wayne did not come out until 2:30 am and I'm not exaggerating he was off stage within 15 minutes. I was comped tickets but literally I was there for over 6 hours for 30 Min of performance. They told the crowd nothing just kept playing the same music over and over with 100 members of the entourage on stage. I was so close it would have been a lot to just get out the crowd. And I was in the 3rd row and could see NOTHING. Had to look at people's phones to see Wayne bc he stood in the same place smh. I don't know how anyone in the back saw anything. The table service had a good spot bc it's elevated but you'll probably go through three bottles of liquor before u see anyone. Seriously just skip this venue and splurge at the arenas. So many people left so disappointed. Surrounding neighborhood was sketchy but luckily my car was okay. I don't think I would return even if my favorite artist came it was that bad. read more

This club was ranked one of the top 40 in the US by DJ Magazine. And I would have to agree. There is space for about five to six thousand people. They have some of the biggest DJ's in the world. They have two massive bars on both sides. They have an awesome VIP section that overlooks the entire dance floor on both sides. They have tons of bathroom stalls. Trust me at least as a guy you will never have to wait. And instead of being assholes and kicking you out when you get a bit drunk and they have a cool down room where they provide you cool water and couches to relax on until you are ready to go back on the dance floor. Amazing. They even have EMTs on staff. I have seen some awesome DJs here including Krewella, nervo, Diplo, diro, data life, Tiesto, bingo players, and many more. My only complaint is that they have no drinks that are reasonably priced. I wish they would have a couple of house drinks for less than $10. But seriously if you like edm and dancing check this place out! Pregame! Dont so drugs! read more
