You'll see a lot of photos of people's bums on the walls lol. This is indeed part of the appeal. For free, if you would like, they will take a polaroid of your butt and memorialize you eternally on the walls. While I didn't do that, if that's up your alley, go for it. Service (2/5): This is the main area of improvement. After being seated, I was greeted promptly and got my first cocktail promptly. From there, things fell apart. I had to grab the bartender's attention to order my second drink and to close out. It was a week day and they weren't busy. And there were two bartenders. A lack of attentiveness. When I closed out, I noticed that the cocktails were both $2 more expensive than what was listed on the menu. When I inquired, I was told that the menus were outdated... umm what? If you're not going to re-print your menus, give people a heads-up when they arrive. I understand that most people won't notice, but this is deception. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet. If you're trying to eat here, all they have is snacks. The menu doesn't specify but I'm thinking it's probably chips or somethign like that. Drinks (4/5): A lengthy, and interesting, cocktail list. Similar to a speakeasy, you're going to see creativity and an interesting blend of flavors here. The most popular drink is Fuck Nazis. We're seeing a theme here. KWSC is an interesting spot. For various dollar amounts, you can get funny things outside of the polaroids of your bum. My first cocktail was great. My second one, a tiki drink, not so much. I had been coming here for a bit and all was fine until I showed up with people of color. I have not been back in since, all of the people in that bar need serious mental help. I have never received so many evil glares in one social setting in my entire life. One was louder than the other and even though we asked the staff, they "fixed" it but didn't really. When selecting songs from YouTube on the screen, we had to be sure to pick videos that had lyrics. This spot rocks! I went here on a whim as someone at the restaurant I was having dinner at…read morementioned going dancing. So I called the crew and we made our way to meet up out front. Once we got inside, the crowd was here for all the fun and dance of it. My friends and I grabbed a drink and stomped right onto the dance floor with everybody else. I'm not quite sure how to explain the vibe, but it was just 'on one'. Next thing I know we're jumping up and down with the DJ and sweating our assess off. Everybody was so friendly, the bartenders were ready everytime we crawled over, and the music was non stop amazing. I wish I could come here on a regular basis but my poor knees just wouldn't be able to survive the brutality of it all. I can't remember the last time I've been somewhere and the entire crew did not want to leave. Everytime we tried to skip out, the DJ would play an old/new mashup that forced my little dancin' feet right back inside. Do yourself a favor and get yourself on top of this experience. Thundercat does all sorts of theme nights: goth, techno, indie dance, yacht rock, karaoke, 80s pop/hip-hop. They also have some really interesting vendors set up shop outside sometimes: food, art, toys and collectibles. Despite the retro look the soundsystem is super high tech and there is a massive LED screen behind the dj with some folks doing live visuals. Cocktails are great and cost as much as anywhere else, though the beer selection could use a little work. Security and staff aren't dicks, which is always nice. Looking forward to the cooler months when I'm sure they'll have djs/art/entertainment outside on the patio.
