Today someone asked me for a recommendation on Haitian bakeries in Orlando. Caribbean dishes and pastries are similar amongst all the Caribbean nations with slight twists or differences.
She was wanting Fresh Haitian bread for morning coffee tomorrow. Recommended this place because every time I've gone in, they've had loaves of bread or Haitian patties (flaky turnovers with different meats inside) coming out of the oven.
This is a take-out small family owned shop. No huge meals, just a simply bakery like you would find on the Islands. In this small storefront, there's also a booth for wire transfers and other cash only transactions.
My favorites here are the chicken patties, codfish patties, and a fresh loaf of bread. They have small deserts like Coconut brittle, cashew brittle, caramel fudge, and other sweet Haitian deserts.
The patties run $1.25 and the loaf of fresh bread is just a couple of dollars. They're not big on debit/credit card transactions, so feel free to bring cash. If your looking for quick, good, and affordable bread and pastries, this is your place to visit! read more
