I have been a fan of ECB ever since they opened in the neighborhood a couple years ago now, and I am really glad to see they have stuck around while a lot of other places have not been able to because their stuffed mushrooms are absolutely to die for and not something I would ever be able to replicate. But what I am really writing this review for is because I absolutely owe this business a lot of credit for making my wedding reception as lovely as it was. ECB has a beautiful catering menu & my guests were sure to tell me how genuinely they enjoyed their meals. My priest even still talks about how good the chicken was months later, to this very day, not kidding. At first glance ECB seems just like another burger place but i'd beg to differ they are an italian restaurant that happens to serve burgers, either way, they have a lot to offer and I highly recommend their Italian entrees. We ordered via UberEats an impossible burger, ECB burger, and fries. Impossible burger was small and patty was dried. The aioli was good. ECB was supposed to come with bacon but it wasn't there. The meat and cheese was tasty. Most of the complaint is for the fries which was so over salted that I had to dust each one with a napkin. If it didn't have so much salt, it would have been perfect. Ordered Delivery through seamless, it was super quick but unfortunately the food wasn't good. The fires are cooked wayyyyy too much, they are almost burnt so unless that's the way you like you fries it's not worth the $4. Also, I paid extra for cheese on my burger and didn't get it unfortunately. The burger is not good enough to stand on its own without cheese. I ordered it Medium and it was definitely closer to medium rare which I kind of expect in restaurants like these. As I prefer medium rare but knew it would be raw. First, a correction to the website: yes, you can dine inside now that dining restrictions have been relaxed a little for NYC & the 5 boroughs. The tables are separated with partitions and customers are spaced far enough apart to feel comfortable in the time of Covid. There's an outside dining option, too. After a year of restaurant deprivation, I was craving a really good burger. Although there are a lot of other choices on the menu, I was going to have a burger, no matter what. OK, I'll make it a cheeseburger. Then I saw the table card that showed a picture of the "Excalibur Burger''. You have to have one of these! House ground Angus beef & short rib blend patty, cheddar cheese, thick avocado slices, lettuce, tomato, onion, served on a toasted brioche bun with garlic aioli and truffle fries. We also had an excellent East Coast Burger with blue cheese. We were going to place another order of fries, but Junior (one of the best waiters you could hope to have) said that there were enough fries to share. He was right! Both burgers were prepared exactly how we asked them to be!! The beef was so incredibly tasty: it totally satisfied my burger craving. It's a good thing we held off on the fries so we could have dessert. John (another stellar member of the staff) said the cheesecake was the best he'd ever had. We had the cheesecake and the chocolate torte. Both were spectacular! This is the kind of place that I want to come back and eat my way through the entire menu!!! John & Junior really made us feel welcome and had that perfect sense of timing to stop by when you wanted them, but didn't hover over your table constantly. Every single dish we ordered was incorrect. - Mozzarella sticks with no marinara sauce. - Impossible burger, no tomato, onion, or aioli. - Fish sandwich, no pickled cabbage. - Greek salad, no mushrooms(additional $1). I called the location to inform them of the mistakes and the customer service was awful. The manager claimed that the menu had changed and these items don't come with this anymore! I went to ECB for the first time today and I must say I'll be going back. They served me the tastiest burger I've had in a while. The meat had the perfect amount of salt and seasoning and was cooked just right. More importantly the meat was of high quality, which isn't common at other burger joints. The bun they used was very soft and tasty but not too heavy and oily. The topics (lettuce, tomato) were very fresh as well. I also got to try out their new wings with different sauces and they were delicious. Really crispy and tender on the inside, just how I like them. Once again really good quality chicken meat for the wings as well. The place overall has a great atmosphere and is nice for groups. Came in here late yesterday afternoon and we had the place to ourselves. I like that they have barriers around the tables and keep strict distancing. Anywhoo, I had the one of the best burgers here. I had the ECB burger which had cheddar cheese, mushrooms and bacon. It was so juicy inside. Super flavorful. Sweet potato fries and onion rings were on point too. For dessert, we had this huge Brownie with soft serve ice cream and strawberries. Everything was perfect and the man taking care of us, Junior, was on top of his game. A little on the high side and I found myself silently saying this better be as good as a Shake Shack or 5 Guys experience. No worries as it turned out. My food was brought to me in good time and was I happy. The burger was absolutely delicious. There was a good hunk of beef, topped with sauce, lettuce and tomato. And it came with a huge portion of those sweet potato fries. The juices were falling off the burger, making a bit of a happy mess. The fries were hot and very tasty. Went there last night with my fiancé and friends. The friends frequent this place so they were friendly with the owner and his wife. Who were great ppl. Chris should be a stand up comedian the way he was friendly warm and funny.. i mean stitches. If and when things get back to normal Chris you should host a stand up comedy open mic night. Tonight my fiancé and I went to ECB and I was BLOWN AWAY!!! The food was OUTSTANDING! We had the wings, onion rings and one of the most delicious pizzas's I have ever had. I have been actively searching for a good burger and the ECB burger hit the spot. It was so flavorful and every component of the burger harmonized so beautifully on my palate.
