I ordered the fried chicken meal which came with 2 sides , I got green beans and rice and gray. I most say I was shocked the amount of flavors that came from every bite I took of the chicken. The sides were even delicious everything was delicious down to the last bite . I must say I was sad it was gone. It was like a party in my mouth . . I recently brought a large flounder sandwich, and it was so bad it was like I was not eating fish. I have never had a fish sandwich that was like I eating batter and not fish. I had not had fish that it was so thin and crunchy before. I do not know what they changed, but they need to change it back to fish. I usually enjoy their fish but not this time. This place is my go to for good fish and sides. I love the fried whiting and flounder. The fish is hot, light, crispy and seasoned The sides are good too and I know soul food. The sides i like the best are potato salad, mac n cheese is good and collard greens. I haven't really venture past those so I can't speak to the other sides they offer. read more

This place is totally overrated. I decided to check it out bc of the great reviews on yelp but was very disappointed. I ordered the fried shrimp with collard greens and mac n cheese. The shrimp were overly breaded, so much that I could barely taste the shrimp through all of the breading. The collard greens were just ok, they were tender but lacked seasoning and had too many stems for me. Lastly, the mac n cheese.....it was just plain disrespectful to call it that. There was no sauce! Heard about this place from a friend. So jumped in car took the 20 minute ride and was shocked to see who was cooking..... The Food was good!!! I don't like potatoe salad and it was the BOMB!!!!! My husband and I are new to the neighborhood and were excited to try the food here because of all the great reviews. They probably call it EC Fish Market for a reason. He ordered BBQ baby back ribs with a side of mac and cheese and cabbage and I ordered BBQ leg and breast with a side of potato salad and collard greens. We also got corn bread with each meal and a small order of fries. You would've thought it was going to hit the spot with the number of people in there. Boy were we disappointed. Both our BBQ meats tasted like charcoal which overpowered the taste of BBQ sauce. We felt like we had smoked a pack of cigs and neither of us are smokers. The collard greens were bland as was the mac and cheese which is disrespectful. The cabbage was ok with hot sauce. After adding salt and pepper to the fries they were fries (nothing special). The best part was the potato salad which seemed to be the only seasoned food in the tray. Last but not least, we knew we'd never come back to try the fish once we tasted the cardboard...oops I mean corn bread. It's just not good. read more

The best potatoes salad, yes! You definitely need to call ahead. The owner are very nice, I've been going there for years. I always get the chicken leg dinner, and my husband get the chop barbecue ( pork/ beef). They don't give you that much of the chop barbecue, however it is good. I do agree with the other reviewer in that the parking is absolutely horrible. Difficult to maneuver especially on the weekends when the little plaza is packed. Onto the food. I have a a great experience when it comes to the food. Great seafood and fish whether is is fresh or fried. Love their potato salad (and that is saying a lot) and their greens. First of all, I love this place! It is the only place in the area where I can get a great fish sandwich. But the last time I was there, I saw something that really bothered me. There was a customer digging through the fish they keep under ice, I assume looking for certain pieces. The guy behind the counter tried to hand him prongs to use, but he waved him away. After handling several pieces he picked only two of them. This person was not the cleanest or healthiest looking person, so I will not buy any more food from them until they put in a freezer for sanitary reasons. read more

This is a hit or miss, best On Friday evenings and Saturdays. Best to order the fresh fish and have it cooked the way you like it, then add sides. Its moe exensive this way, but worth it. Yes, they will broil your salmon or chicken but you have to ask. It is Asian Owned and they sell Carribean version of Black American soul food, so none of the sides will be "right" if you are from the deep south. Expect a lot of fried things, too sweet canned yams, mushy Potato salad with way to much mustard, I have no idea what they season the greens with, but it's edible, canned string beans, an other things they think are soul food. Good if you just can't cook. But know it's not really soul food, you'll be hungry again in hours, no matter how much you ate. read more
