My friend and I were just walking back from tennis and I just needed water or something sparkling so we walked into here. From the outside it's super eye catching with its bright clean lines and once you walk inside it's bustling with people and a cute selection of sushi, drinks, and some snacks. I mainly walked into to check out the interior and it's a comfortable feel! I only grabbed water and ume sparkling but I noticed a lot of people grabbing the sushi which looks super bright. My friend and I will be going back to try the food on our way back from another tennis session! I definitely want to try the California roll and eel! Check it out!

Yum yum yum. The fish was super fresh. There's a couple of seats, but there's a park across the street to enjoy the food. A lot of selection, ended up getting the Omakase sampler ($16.99). Sushi prices range from $4.50 - $18.50 (March 2026), large variety of fish, chirashi, to uni. Hard choices to make, but all the items looked super delicious. Quick checkout and the space was clean. My favorite from the omakase sample was the o toro. Overall, good quality fish and easy to enjoy on the go.

Such fresh fish and they restock throughout the day! We pulled up around 40 mins before closing at 5pm and we were surprised to see the staff still making fresh rolls. We lucked out and got the seared salmon nigiri, the salmon sashimi, California roll and seaweed salad. Everything was amazingly priced and the California roll was real crab yumm. The fish was fresh didn't taste fishy and the quality was solid. Not to mention there is room to enjoy your meal and even drinks you can buy as well. We had a great time and would recommend for anyone nearby who wants to try. We noticed they stayed open past 5pm so if you're in a rush maybe they'll still be open :)

This is a really nice and spacious location. We walked in on a Friday around opening time and they had a full spread/options. Their fish appears and tastes super fresh and they have really great prices. You can take it to go but we sat it since it was not full. They provided us with chopsticks, ginger, wasabi and soy sauce. The space is well kempt and very clean. Also in a great location in north beach.

Ebiko is a grab and go sushi spot in north beach right near Washington square park. It's very clean with cold drinks, snacks, and sushi. There's a couple bar stools near a window so limited seating. They provide nice chopsticks and soy sauce to go as well. They have a great selection for reasonable prices. We got the chef's omakase. The sushi was buttery, fresh, not too fishy at all. I really enjoyed the quality of the fish. The rice was cooked well too- not too mushy, not too hard. I am a big fan! I think this is a good spot to grab sushi and have a nice park day!

Good spot for to-go sushi. Fresh and large selection to choose from. Quality sushi for a decent price. Real crab in the California rolls. Also had nice chopsticks and seating inside

Finally tried out this place, food was good! Very convenient as others say, a quick pit stop for sushi. Limited seating provided as this is a takeaway shop.

Ebiko recently opened their second SF location on Columbus. The shop inside is very aesthetic and bright, not too much seating as it seems to be a quick grab and go sushi place. I know the sushi is all made fresh in house but one downside is that the items are all placed in the fridge so the rice was semi cold, but it was still chewy, intact and didn't fall apart. Next time I'd let the sushi sit out for 10-15 mins to warm up to room temp California rolls were made with snow crab instead of imitation crab so that was a nice change. The cuts of fish for the nigiri were thick and still melt in your mouth. Overall I think it was really good quality fish at an affordable price especially since I ordered through DoorDash pick up and they had a 20% discount on most items !? Would get the omakase platter again if I was craving it. Even better that the chopsticks are super nice and not just your typical bamboo ones

I came across this clean Japanese take out place on Columbus while I was walking around. When you walk in, it had a nice clean modern look. There were two shelves that had snacks and one refrigerated shelf with different types of sushi and bowls. Towards the front there were a few tables and some window seating. You are able to sit there to eat what you bought I had the salmon and avocado roll. They have wasabi and ginger you can ask for and some chopsticks. The price was $8.99. the rice in the sushi was a bit hard. It seems like a nice place to grab a quick bite of sushi. The cashier was nice and friendly.

So happy this new Ebiko location is so close to home for me! Great place to pick up food on the way home from work (if they are still open) or a work from home lunch! The fish here is such great quality and I can always trust that I'm going to get a great meal at a great cost! Best tip is to take a few sushi boxes over across the street to Washington Square to eat and soak up some sun!

    Omakase Set - superb!

TLDR: Outstanding quality and a tightly curated sushi selection for a grab n go sushi place. Consider this a high end to-go sushi lunch joint. The rice and fish is PERFECT here.. just the right temperature and the fish - oh so good, tender and melty on your tongue beyond belief. I savor every bite. Pretty much everything here outstrips all the usual average sit-down Japanese places for sushi, to say nothing of supermarket "sushi".. My Favorites: Omakase Set - always good! With this you get seven pieces of Nigiri - a couple of pieces of Salmon Nigiri, 1x Ikura Maki, 1x Bluefin Otoro, 1 pc Akami, 1-2 Chutoro . Great for the main! Salmon Aburi - 5x Big pieces! Super tender! Mini Uni Don - small, but delectable accompanied with plenty of !kura over a small cup of rice. This is a great side that I enjoyed with my Omakase set. Other offerings: Chirashi - on my list, but I always fall hard for the Omakase set! Non-raw options: California Roll - with real snow crab - again, I prefer my favorites above Unagi Nigiri - overshadowed by all the rest! Served light on the Unagi sauce. Inari & Seaweed also available. The prices are VERY reasonable for the quality you get here. lower prices than sit-down sushi places with this caliber of fish. Inside you'll find a Modern, bright and spacious interior. Head for the grab n go case, grab what ya like, scan the drinks and snacks on your right and head for the cashier. Don't forget to grab a pair of their nice chopsticks, wasabi/ginger and soy on your way out. There is some limited seating inside with a small two person table along the wall, and a tall counter by the window facing the street. If it's fully occupied, I just head over to Washington Park down the block and eat there. Friendly service too. We've been to their other location in Oakland several times - call us a regular there almost! I hear their FiDi location is super popular too. I'm stoked to see this latest location in the heart of North Beach! I'll be back here every chance I get.

Definitely worth every penny and so affordable! I absolutely love Ebiko. This newest location is so good and completely my vibe. The ambience is bright, clean, and minimal, and it genuinely feels like one of those cozy one-stop sushi shops in Japan. Everything about it feels so intentional, from the design to the way the food is displayed. The owners are super nice and the workers are very attentive. I love seeing the chefs continuously come to the front to restock, which shows that everything is made fresh throughout the day. The quality and presentation are both amazing. They also have a selection of Japanese snacks and drinks, which adds to the fun and authenticity of the experience. I just love the whole theme and concept of this place. *Omakase Nigiri - mixed variety of salmon, scallop, toro, tuna, and ikura ($16.99) *Salmon Aburi - seared salmon with that perfect melt-in-your-mouth texture ($12.50) *Mini Uni Don - creamy, rich, and perfectly portioned ($8.50) *Spicy Tuna Roll - fresh, flavorful, and balanced spice ($8.99) This newest location is absolutely my favorite. I really hope they open more locations in the Bay Area, especially in San Jose, but for now I'll always make it a point to stop by Ebiko whenever I get the chance!

    Seared Salmon and Unagi Nigiri
    Jen T.

This recently opened branch of Ebiko is the perfect grab and go spot for a delicious and quick sushi lunch. I got both their seared salmon belly nigiri and their unagi nigiri for less than $18 because of their 40% off grubhub deal! Salmon Aburi (7.5/10): The salmon aburi came in a great portion. I did find the fattiness of the salmon was a bit too much and relied on the soy sauce to cut through the fat and the fish which was pretty one-note flavor-wise. I most likely wouldn't order this one again. Unagi Nigiri (9/10): Solid unagi!! The sauce was sweet and delicious, perfectly coating each piece of the eel. I did have little bones in the nigiri and much prefer warmer unagi as this one was a bit cold. The flavor was on point though.

The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy inside, with a nice light seasoning that didn't overpower the dish. The curry sauce was rich, slightly sweet, and had just enough depth to keep you going back for another bite. Portion size was great for the price, and everything came out hot and fresh. The vibe felt cozy and laid-back--nothing fancy, but definitely the kind of place you'd come back to when you're craving something reliable and filling. Only reason it's not a full 5 stars is I wish the curry had a bit more spice or complexity, but that's personal preference. Still, a really enjoyable meal overall and worth checking out.

Immediately, the ambiance and service was quite nice. We were seated at the table, but typically I enjoy sitting at the bar to watch the chefs make our food. The service was amazing and they were very attentive. They also offered to take photos and gave us a little gift of hojicha tea since we were celebrating. We got the omakase, which was massive and had 18 courses. They gave us a menu so we knew what to expect for each course, and we ordered some sake. The omakase was delicious and more traditional than other places, each course was so beautiful and delicately made. This is definitely a lot of food, I would recommend the petite omakase in the future as I was stuffed, but it was a great experience if you come hungry! Courses: - Chawan-mushi - super tasty and every bite was delicious and umami forward! - Otsumami - 7 seasonal appetizers presented in a beautiful box, there was a stuffed crab claw in there that was delicious - 4 kinds of sushi - each piece came out one at a time, the first piece was my absolute favorite and blew me away, it was a seared chutoro that immediately melts in your mouth and tastes smokey - Hamachi soup - very tasty and warming soup with hamachi inside, was perfect in between the sushi course - 4 kinds of sushi - A5 Waguyu shabu - this course was extra $10 pp but was so delicious, the wagyu was melt in your mouth and had some grated daikon on top in a ponzu dashi, the toppings help balance the meat so it's overwhelming since it does melt in your mouth, one of my favorite bites! - 4 kind of sushi - they brought out some really great sushis, including more chutoro and an unagi handroll, but I was so stuffed at this point that I felt I couldn't enjoy it as much - miso soup - this soup was so tasty and kind of revived me after all that food, it felt comforting and a great way to end - dessert- I got the hojicha ice cream in a waffle like cookie and it was delicious!

Everything was extremely fresh and the fish melted like butter in my mouth. Every course was extremely flavorful and just truly deliberate; there was a story behind everything. For $18, you get an incredible spread: * your choice of gyoza, shumai, or tofu * a California roll or avocado roll * a protein of your choice Plus it all comes with edamame, miso soup, and seaweed salad. Honestly? That's my kind of deal. Everything we tried was delicious. In addition to the lunch box, we ordered a dragon roll and a dynamite roll, both of which were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully done. My husband went with the Una Ten Donburi. It was tasty, but at $30, it did feel a bit steep compared to the rest of the menu. The restaurant looked like your typical Japanese style space with the sushi rollers at the entrance and simple tables and decor. I do have two minor negatives worth mentioning. First, the edamame was cold and unsalted. I'm an edamame lover, and nothing beats it hot, freshly steamed, and generously showered in salt. So that was a little disappointing. Second, our server (I believe his name was Kayz) seemed visibly annoyed when we asked to split the check. As a server myself, I know this isn't rocket science, and guests should never be made to feel uncomfortable for something so standard, especially after there had already been a small mix-up with our roll order (we received two dynamite rolls instead of one dynamite and one dragon). We didn't make a fuss at the time because mistakes happen, but the attitude at the end definitely stood out. That said, the food itself was solid, the lunch special is a fantastic value, and overall we still had a good experience. I would absolutely return and would recommend this spot, just hoping for a smoother service experience next time.

My meal apparently wasn't memorable enough to motivate me to visit this location, that is, until quite recently. I decided to have lunch here after a nearby medical appointment. It wasn't crowded at all. Only a couple of solo diners and a loud senior couple. I wasn't in a sushi mood and thought I'd go healthy with the saba shioyaki. However, at the last minute, I went with the $19 Ika Yaki, a whole BBQ squid sliced and saturated in teriyaki sauce with a dab of shichimi mayo (Photo 8). The portion was generous and the texture was firm with enough elasticity. Unfortunately the teriyaki sauce did nothing to enhance the dish, and I wished they served it on the side. I also ordered the $8 Agedashi Tofu, usually a foolproof appetizer for me. It certainly looked right (Photo 9), but I was unpleasantly surprised how tongue-burning hot it was. The cubes of tofu must've just come right out of the deep fryer. The dashi broth helped calm the heat down but a little too late. I'm sure glad I sprung for the $3 bowl of Rice (Photo 10).
