What an amazing experience for an incredible value. We went to celebrate our anniversary, and the experience and service truly made our day feel special. We couldn't stop raving about the service especially while we walked around after dinner. The details, down to the monogrammed butter pats, were all thoroughly considered. This restaurant has such an intimate atmosphere, and the direct service by the chef himself was unexpected but certainly welcome! He was friendly, funny, and thoughtful. We opted for the discovery menu and ordered wine by the glass; he considered our menu for the night, including dietary substitutions, and made wine recommendations for us based on what would pair best across multiple dishes. If you do the wine pairing, there's a different wine for each dish. Though each bottle was great, we ended up finding a wine we really loved! We loved the chef's counter arrangement, it felt personal but also could be social depending on who you're sat next to. I think it goes without saying that the caliber of effort that goes into a meal at a repeated star winning restaurant is above and beyond, but we truly had our expectations exceeded. Besides the fact that we were presented with edible art, it was a really interesting way to experience Scandinavian fusion cuisine. And contrary to popular belief with upscale dining, we did not leave hungry. By the end of our meal, we were slowing down considerably. I would recommend anyone, foodie or not, to give Ebbe a go. You will not be disappointed. I hate to be the type of person taking photos at my table, but when you see what we were presented with, how could you not? The next time we're in Tampa, I guarantee we'll be back. Thank you for a truly exceptional experience and meal. read more

Our first experience at Ebbe was notably impressive. The presentation of the food was exceptional. We did enjoy every taste while some dishes were beautiful but the taste was not so amazing. Yes they were beautifully presented and paired very well with the wines. My only criticism would be that we had the Discovery menu at $185 pp and found we were still hungry afterwards. We have eaten at many Michelin star restaurants worldwide and yes Ebbe is truly special for Tampa it wouldn't get the same high attention in major cities with many Michelin 1 star restaurants. read more

Art on a plate....all 12 of the Prestige menu plates! Ocean was such a lovely host...so attentive and engaging, very clearly passionate to serve such exquisite masterpieces. Order the 5 wine flight (at a minimum). A champagne toast was the perfect way to start the evening. From there, the first 4 courses were served together -- the special caviar was such a treat along with the eclairs which had a Jerusalem artichoke filling. The turbot that was topped with zucchini and then a champagne butter sauce was divine...I could have drank the sauce by itself! And the sheep yogurt citrus was outstanding! I was surprised they were not even close to full on a Friday night, but it sounds like they had a couple of no-shows. Bravo to the chef, kitchen and staff here for creating a romantic and intimate atmosphere for a special occasion...or even a special first date :) read more

I came with my parents to celebrate graduating and it was such a beautiful dinner. I would consider myself a picky eater so I typically don't go to restaurants that do prix fixe menus. Everything on the menu was delicious and the service was great. I loved that I could follow along on the little paper menu and they brought the food at our eating pace. We usually eat super quickly so I was worried we would be waiting long between courses but they brought our next course quickly after we finished the previous. Everything was super thoughtful and enjoyable. read more

I can't really give this a real rating because I was not actually able to eat here. We made our pre-paid reservation on Resy, for two people. My wife and I had a fortuitous baby sitting miracle and decided to celebrate! We pre-paid $438 and ordered a nice $60 Uber from New Tampa to make night of it! When we arrived, there was no one to greet us. We stood around with a group of equally confused looking patrons by the front door. Finally a young woman approached and asked for our name. She wrote it down on paper for some reason (mistaking a hyphen for an apostrophe, but that's not a big deal). Then another young lad came out and said the following: "I'm sorry, we are overbooked. Was it a late reservation?" "Well, gosh yes... " "If you booked with Resy we have no control over it. I'm sorry. You need to contact them for a refund." Then she walked away. I'm sure she may have been warmer or given a sincere apology in the moment, but it didn't feel like it. It felt like getting bad news from Mr. Spock after Kirk had told him he'd had relations with his sister. In mild first-world shock, we wondered outside, before returning to ask "actually, wtf?" At that point we were saved by Mr. Ryan, who was actually apologetic, offered us a glass of wine, and said that that lady was having a bad night. We sat at his bar drank the free wine while we found a table at Haven on Open Table, and watch the increasingly growing crowd of confused patrons pile up in the non-existent waiting area. Apparently the owner/chef is in Thailand or something. It shows. This place is a clown show. Put Ryan in charge, or at least give everyone else a squishy nose and a flower that sprays Pinot into the mouths of people who feel like idiots. read more

Dining at Ebbe was an unforgettable experience. I don't usually gravitate toward seafood, but since it's a Michelin-rated restaurant, I went in with an open mind--and I'm so glad I did. Every single dish was amazing and absolutely delicious. The flavors were thoughtful, balanced, and beautifully presented. Ebbe and Noree were incredibly kind and welcoming, and you can truly tell they know exactly what they're doing. Their passion and expertise shine through in every detail of the experience. I can't wait to visit them in Bangkok one day. Highly, highly recommend! read more

It's a bit underwhelming for a Michelen star .. first of all there isn't anyone on the front to great or seat you ! Public bathroom style stalls ... air dryer to dry your hands after .. This might have been the best meal I've ever had. We did the 12 course prestige tasting menu. It was definitely the best turbot, scallop and duck I've ever eaten. Our server was super knowledgeable and attentive. The restaurant is gorgeous and we actually liked the seating more than we expected. The only downside is the wine. The wine was great but paying $25 for a glass when I can buy the bottle for $19 seems like a rip off. Otherwise, absolutely worth the price and experience. read more

My experience at Ebbe was mixed. We enjoyed what we ate and obviously the dishes were beautifully crafted. The impression I was left with was that you're paying (a lot) to feel upscale, instead of paying for excellent service. There were components of Ebbe that felt similar to other places serving pre fixe menus: small but elegant portions, high quality ingredients, chef explanations of each dish, and intriguing interior. We loved these components and enjoyed the food served! The chef is also very responsive and good about making allergy accommodations which is always appreciated. Though I will say they don't always go the extra mile with substitutes and instead just leave things out. For an already small amount of food this left me feeling hungry. I really enjoyed the roasted celeriac and the non alcoholic tasting drinks were great. What was missing for me was the actual service and some of the "bang" for the buck that you feel at a Michelin restaurant. When we came in, the person seating us joked "We're all chefs here, no waiters or hosts. So don't be upset if your water isn't filled the whole time." It was like a self fulfilling prophecy - our water glasses went unfilled for most of the service and the people we dined with noticed. I would've been happy if they just left a carafe within our reach! The comment then came across that they were too self important to concern themselves with our water refills. It felt silly to receive such limited service at a place that cost $200-300 a person. It left us feeling glad we tried it and we enjoyed the food, but that there was something missing. For me, it really highlighted how much I value the service component and feeling "taken care of" when going out for a special meal. I don't think we will go back as we have had phenomenal experiences at other pre fixe restaurants. read more

I really love how much the Tampa food scene has grown and evolved the last few years. With Ebbe, it has really gone up to another level. As the newest Michelin Star restaurant here, I think they bring some fantastic sophistication and execution to the table. The ambiance of the restaurant is modern minimalist. Don't expect lots of decor or furniture. Everything is very to the point and functional, which probably relates to the Scandinavian ethos of this restaurant. Service was very on point. Loved having the Chef come over and explain each dish. The water glass was always kept full and dishes were removed after each course with precision. Some people might feel the spacing between each course is long. But for me, I thought it was fine. I wasn't in a rush and the time between courses allowed me to really process what I just ate. As for the food itself, very well executed. You can see the precision and technical skills needed to turn out such well plated and well thought out courses. Overall, very impressed by this restaurant. Would definitely come back to try again when the menu changes with the season :) read more

Ebbe has a different take on service, they don't have any wait staff just chefs that bring the food out. In reality I would have preferred a professional waiter but we can leave that to preference. The food was all good and obviously fresh. It had a Scandinavian flair to it and was tasty. The presentation was Michelin like as was the price. I personally felt that it was a little light on food compared to other similar places I've been. My biggest negative is they don't have any soda of any kind because they feel it will affect the taste of the food, yet they serve beer. If you can't drink alcohol, water is your only choice. The ambiance was simple, no clutter by choice I was told, it was very quite although that probably because we were the only couple their. With that said I was impressed that they went all out and made sure we were served the full experience anyway. read more

Went last year, had prestige menu, the food was overall good, some inventive dishes and flavorful, small portion sizes but that's expected from a chefs experience. We enjoy trying new restaurants especially chef crafted menus. There was only one other couple dining while we were there which I found odd for such a large seating area. I believe the other couple was either famous or good friends with staff as I felt like we were seated as far away from them as possible and that we were a bit of an after thought for attention and conversation with staff/chefs. Maybe we'll give them another try this year. read more

I visited Ebbe on a Friday night at 6:30 with a party of 4. We were a few minutes late for a reservation which was not a problem. We were seated at a corner of the counter seating environment which was nice because we could socialize with the group. We opted for the small tasting and did not do the wine pairing. I ordered one of the red wines that they were offering but they do not have a wine menu and they do not have a beer menu. They have yuengling for beer only. They also only offer bottled water which I think is odd. I am actually on the border between 4 and 5 stars over this beverage situation actually. I was charged $14 for two bottles of water but I don't think there is any way we even drank one bottle of water. I think I had about a half of a glass of water. I also despise waste from water bottles. Just give me tap and let me do what I can for the environment. The food was incredible and the chefs who work in ALL roles at the restaurant are positive (not perfect) but the food knowledge and expertise that you receive from them about the food is extremely special. Welcome to the BEST dining experience in Tampa. I actually don't think you could visit a better restaurant in Tampa. I'll be shocked if they don't get atleast 1 Michelin star next year! We did the 12 course dinner with wine pairing and were amazed by each course. There is so much thought put into each dish, and the quality of ingredients is top knotch. The ambiance here is really cool, they have a Chef's table concept that is unlike anywhere else in Tampa. Chef Nate was awesome, he explained each dish and made our dinner really enjoyable. He is very personable and made the experience totally unforgettable! This won't be my last time here, and a spot you should run to. I was so lucky to dine here before they inevitably blow up! We visited for an early Wednesday night dinner at 6pm dinner. It was prepaid including 20 percent gratuity automatically added. Parking in lot is $10. They do not have soda as they want to keep it elevated. If you can't have wine or beer bottled water is the only other option. Alcohol license is pending. Definitely overhyped. I've been to a handful of Michelin starred restaurants in other countries and this was by far the most disappointing, while also being the most expensive by quite a bit. We did the prestige tasting and my husband and I were concerned after the first few dishes fell well below expectations. 4/11 were really good, 2/11 were excellent, 2/11 I had to wash down with water, and the remaining 3 were just ok. I think maybe 1-2 dishes met what I'd consider Michelin standards compared to the others I've dined at. The service was excellent, but portion sizes were very small even by tasting menu standards. Every similar restaurant I've dined at I've left quite full, which was not the case with Ebbe - my husband actually stopped for food on the way home! Lastly, for being so expensive we felt weirdly nickel and dimed being charged an additional $20 for two bottles of still water at the end of the night and there were a few moments that felt very "upselling". All in all I'd probably give this experience 2.5 stars, there are plenty of other non-Michelin restaurants in Tampa that exceed this one. Good, but sadly underwhelming and not at all worth the price. read more

I can't accurately articulate the experience of Ebbe except to say it is magical. Unassuming, understated elegance. I have never had such cuisine and it was divine. Delicate. Expressive. Joyful. These are all words that come into mind. We had a wonderful dinner at Ebbe! Great service, food and ambiance. Pricey but worth it.

We only did the small tasting but all the food was amazing. Not a single thing we didn't love. Only issues were they seems a little short staffed and the music was awful as we had to listen to theme music to James bond (yes you read that correctly) because they didn't know how to change the music. They should have just had it without music. I'm assuming this those issues are temporary so I'd definitely recommend. read more

We ordered the prestige menu along with the prestige wine pairing and the non alcoholic wine pairing. Let me start by saying, me and my wife have had dinner at multiple Michelin Star restaurants. This was the worst service I ever experienced at a "high end place". There was no host when we arrived. We weren't greeted initially we were just standing up front for a few minutes until someone in the back noticed. The people that seated us did not have knowledge about our reservation. They didn't know we had paid for the prestige menu or they didn't know we had the prestige wine pairing. I had to ask for water refills on multiple occasions. They never cleaned the area which we were eating in throughout the night. I had to ask for fresh utensils. No one saw or recognized these things. The food itself was very underwhelming. We had roughly 10 dishes/courses and out of the 10 or so three of them were good (a savory eclair dish, the turbo dish was very good & the venison dish was excellent) There were multiple layers of flavor and depth to the dishes. There was one other dish that was ok. The other dishes were not good at all. Two of the items were old and stale. They were supposed to provide a crunchy element but the items weren't fresh. The bread and butter dish was good as well. Overall, the other Michelin Star places were have tried the dishes had a certain level of thought and depth to them. The presentation was great for every dish. The actual food itself didn't deliver. They didn't have a sommelier present during the dinner which I thought was wild. The wine selection that was deemed prestige was average at best. The non-alcoholic pairing that ranges from $85-$115 was just "Muri". A cheap nonalcoholic beverage maker. If you are looking for anything handcrafted they don't do that and the chef tried to make up a story about why the nonalcoholic pairings were lacking. We spent over $1,000 and it was definitely the worst meal that we have ever spent a large sum of money on. I am not sure how they received a Michelin Star. read more

Ya know i almost feel bad leaving 3 stars so consider this average, as fancy food alone doesn't warrant this kind of money imo if service timing is still blah and ambiance is weak. Could roll for 4 here but i cant justify the $1300 it cost for two people to do the 12 "course" with wine pairing. Wife had a blast though so won't show her this review ! Won't be back anytime soon but i wouldnt say to stay away. There are skills here if that's what you're after seeking to visually see. Service took around 4 hours which is ridiculous. The small wine pours are compounded as an issue with so much time between the two bite courses you end up with no beverage and no food for 15 minutes between each "course". Lost a full star on timing alone. I was told that this has been brought up to "chef" before and adjustments have not been made, really dampened the experience with all the downtime. As others say the ambiance is drabish and you're seated at a bar. Chef service is nice with the interaction, but place leaves a lot to be desired visually. You at a bar staring at inside of it with empty wine glasses and silverware and any kitchen action is miles away. Some of the food was delicious and some of it was just OK. The tastiest thing was probably a combo of a salmon flavor with everything bagel flavor but that's already got the built-in umami to hit it home. The tuna dish, for example fell flat and was not a stand out. I don't know that you can really call at 12 courses if you bring out three of them at the same time and they're all single bite-size.. The portions were minuscule, and it's not even in a question of cost as having them 50% larger would've cost them next to nothing. Expected them small to some degree. Eating with tweezers seems bit over the top. Pretty much had a scalpel as a knife. The walleye for example could have fit the whole course in one scoop to your mouth, just felt wrong to me but hey I'm just a layman. It's a lake fish / perch and no reason not to be setup differently. Crab in the shell with tweezers was a neat concept, but again it was a 1"x1" portion. It's just crab, not golden bottom of the abyss super rare crab or anything to warrant the portion size. Almost aggravating especially when i know it's 15 minutes until the next bite is coming. Idk just felt not a ton of value here and had better time and food at a Michelin place across town. read more

The BKK Thai service staff and menu needs some major work. The service staff was unable to answer questions about the menu and the drink menu. They were inattentive, did not ask about allergies (as peanuts or peanut based are dominant on the menu), and seemed like they were trained to work at Chili's rather than a Michelin star restaurant. The food was mid to Panda Express comparison. The Bangkok noodles were chopped up to the size of rice, the crispy beef tasted like roast beef slices, and overall lacked taste. (we ordered a total of eight different menu items). Should have went to Yum Yum House for comparable service and food. Deeply disappointed. INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTING. My sister in law and her husband brought me to this Michelin Star-rated restaurant for my birthday last week, and none of us can figure out how this place has a Star. Nobody greeted us when we came in and there's no hostess stand, so we weren't sure we were even in the right place. They seated us quickly at a table (not the counter), which was nice, since it looked like the counter seats simply faced a wait station for staff. No food or drinks were being prepared in the highlighted middle of the restaurant. We asked for a cocktail menu, and were told that it's "not a cocktail forward" restaurant, but we could get like a glass of Woodford or something. When we gave up and decided to order wine, we realized that the $220 per bottle or $35 per glass math was way off, so we all ordered a glass of red and were somewhat surprised how they strictly measured each pour. The interior design is weird with the way the light fixtures are chaotically attached in the dining room, and there was a little box of roach poison clearly visible in the corner not that far from where I was seated. To be fair, the presentation of the food was beautiful and the food was tasty, although a few times we were hoping for a little more salt. Service was friendly and good, but the server who we started with was no longer our server at the end of the meal, which we found kind of odd. The utensils were smaller than normal, and were stacked in a little caddy so that the staff did not have to provide a new set of flatware with each course, at the end I ate the dessert with a fork because I had used some of my spoons on other dishes. We were still hungry when we left and ended up getting fast food on the way back home. We were sad that we drove over an hour one way and spent a lot of money to get a nice Michelin star meal for my birthday and were let down. We were the last people in the restaurant at 9 p.m on a Friday night, and it seemed evident that the good people of Tampa were already privy to what we were learning. We ended up going to El Cielo in Miami a few days later (also one Michelin Star) and had a glorious experience that is commensurate with that rating. read more

Finally a Michelin restaurant worthy of its star in Tampa. Ebbe offers a 5 and 7 course tasting menu and they are pricey, but in my opinion, worth it. We ordered the 5. The restaurant is tiny and probably seats about 30. The service is unparalleled, the chef himself walks around and serves people and talks to them about the food. Every single thing we ate came with superb preparation and inventiveness. Our favorite was these amazing mochi donut style things that were gooey and fluffy. I cannot say enough about this food. They don't have a full bar yet but they do wine pairing with every item if you're interested. It is optional. Love that only chefs work in the restaurant, no hosts, servers, nor even a dish washer. We did the 12 course dinner with wine pairing. The plates made with local ingredients and influenced by chef Ebbe's Scandinavian roots were unique and yet comforting. This is a tough one. For the price point and hype, we wanted to love this place so much more than we did. Unfortunately, at the extreme price point, I can't recommend this for most people. We both did the full tasting menu. The staff is very welcoming and they emphasize that there is no one working that is not a "chef", e.g. the people washing your dishes are also chefs. So, you are in good [food] hands the whole way through. The interior is a bit cold and weirdly feels like a bar was built in the middle of an empty room. I believe they said they built it themselves, which unfortunately, is not a good thing as it looks somewhat homemade. Despite the single bar, they do not do designated seating times so everyone is on their own schedule as far as courses. This was fine although it was only us and another small group in there with not much ambiance so it felt like we were all unintentionally apart of the same conversations. The overall theme of the food was that it had potential but often didn't land because it arrived cold or was lacking substantial flavor. Fancy presentation is not a substitute for good food. I am sure that the small portion sizes are tough to time/keep hot but for $400+/person I'd think that every single thing that comes out is meticulously tended to. A few dishes were solid like the venison but many were underwhelming with minimal flavor. When the most memorable dish was the bread, it really solidified our review of the whole experience being "ok" and far, far, away from the price tag. We left feeling hungry, confused, and disappointed. It's awesome that places in Tampa are winning Michelin stars, however, this one feels like a shock. *we went in November '23. read more

We celebrated a birthday here and it was our first time trying an 11 course meal so brimming with excitement and high hopes, considering that we spent almost $800 for two people. Not our first time dining at Michelin restaurants so unfortunately, this experience didn't impress much. We both left feeling hungry and I wanted to add that there is an added 20% gratuity and unlike other fine dining places, they didn't remember to point out our special occasion or celebration. Our server was a chef and while he was friendly and passionate about his craft, the overall service of the entire staff was not well coordinated. Expensive fancy meal set in an odd setting: "industrial chic" with pour acoustics. The ambiance is less to be desired, it's a little squid games theme in a warehouse sense... curtains, empty brick walls, and exposed lighting strings. The lighting is not the soft and romantic vibes one would expect from a fine dining restaurant of this pricing caliber. You sit at a big counter, kind of like a bartender's table, facing and looking at the other patrons and at times hearing their conversations. Hence, the pour acoustics in this place. The food itself is prepared and plated beautifully. Geeky nerdy elevated experience and a visual concert for the eyes. I appreciate the concept and the novelty experience but full disclaimer that it's a personal preference that I don't like the "foamy fishy" that is typical of Scandinavian cuisine. It's too mush, it's a texture thing for me. There was a chef signature dish of this that I did not like at all. But again, it's not my flavors preference. The "courses" are amuse bouche type bites. My favorite part of the courses were the beginning and end; very strong start and finish, but the middle courses were lost. I loved the Alaskan crab leg but it was only ONE INCH of it. C'mon guys, one inch of something isn't enough. I was craving a trip to Costco to pick up some of these crab legs, get more bang for my bucks. There was another course that had 2 inch of Venison but overall I think I must've ate less than 6 oz of protein this entire meal. The oxtail and pumpkin mousse was hearty, warm, and almost Spanish influenced like and I enjoyed this so much and wanted more of it but it was about an oz of shredded oxtail and left me wanting more from my bite. Regarding carbs, bread wasn't warmed and their homemade butter wasn't amazing. Granted, the donut shaped balls were clever and the butter looked very artistic... taste wasn't perfection. I've had muuuuch better bread & butter service in Europe at non-Michelin type restaurants. This is so basic how could they get this wrong. The desserts were amazing, I give them that. I really only loved about three plates and the two desserts so in hindsight I should've done the 5 course meal and saved 50%. The timing of the meals were spaced too far apart, I thought that the length didn't need to be so long and over 2 hours for 11 tiny little bites. The AC was cranked up too cold and the music choice was sleepy, so I was rather uncomfortable here and wanted to get out of there quickly. It's overpriced so we left feeling a little ripped off and I made myself a protein shake later that evening. Long review short, got money to burn and you want to cross off an 11 course bucket list? Do it. Will this restaurant get awarded a Michelin star? Hmm... remains to be seen. read more

Thank you chef Ebbe and crew- great things are in store for you all AND FOR US FOR SURE! read more

Great edition to Tampas dining scene. Honestly Florida's Michelin scene is very weak even the already named stars in my opinion do not compete against the major other US cities. I firmly believe Ebbe will be announced on their next round of stars. Did the 5 course pairing but excited to try the 12 course next time now I know they can cook. Keep up the great work guys. Took some bad photos though sorry. read more
