We came in for some kitchen essentials and also to look at some couch options, which we did end up, finding a couple things. We stopped at the restaurant upstairs & decided to get the Swedish meatballs plate, and chicken tenders for my kids wasn't too bad, but the prices have definitely gone up for the chicken tenders which lacked any kind of seasoning and very overcooked. Now down at the café, they serve hotdogs, pizza, ice cream, pretzels, cookies, and even coffee options. We've been going to this IKEA for a while now and the pictures of their food always entice but we never end up eating there because it's so busy. We went one weekday afternoon and it wasn't as packed so we were able to go and have some lunch. We order two kids meals, the meatballs and chicken tenders. For adults, we tried the desserts and food. I might not be a Swedish food person but nothing tasted good. It was cheap food for a cheap price. I can't say that I liked anything. I have been here several times. But I wasn't have a chance to review their restaurant. Finally I have some picture while I visited. I like scandinavian food. Went on a Thursday, very quiet and plenty of places to sit. So they have an area where you can get the food out yourself like cakes, fruit, jello, wraps, etc. There is then the area to get your food and have them put it on your plate like buffet/cafeteria style. I went here close to the closing time. First thing I notice is that the place was a bit confusing to find if it's your first time going, but the staff were very friendly helping showing the way. Even though it was very latex people in the restaurant were friendly too. I had some swedish meatballs, fried chicken, mac and cheese and salad. The meatballs had a nice flavor. I finally made it to an IKEA!!! It's been on my bucket list forever! The meatballs lived up to the hype. They are flavorful and soft. The gravy, mashed potatoes and lingonberry sauce is what makes the meal though. They even had had a vegetarian version for my niece. I would have brought home tons of other foods if I hadn't have had to get on a plane the next day. Why can't we get an IKEA around the Capital Region!!? "Manuel" had the worst service and communication I've ever seen in my life. I have a gluten free allergy and asked simply what contained gluten. He had no idea and told me to choose something so I settled with the baked salmon. Now when I asked for mashed potatoes he was trying to put the gravy on without knowing if it was gluten free or not I had to tell him no twice. He asked my boyfriend what he wanted and he said two chicken tenders and fries. "Manuel" asked "how many fries" what the f* do u mean by "how many fries?" And so he proceeds to yell at him asking and then says one min realizing he was out of fries. I live nearby and love IKEA but today made me realize why I haven't been back in so long. IKEA, besides going for home furnishings, there are activities. Tonight was the Midsommer Dinner. Nice turnout. It's an all you can eat dinner. Salad, appetizer, entree, dessert and non alcoholic drinks. Also, an activity too. Everything was pretty good. I didn't care for herring tonight too much or the salmon because it was a little dry. Love those little meatballs We made the trek from Sarasota to Tampa to visit IKEA, the huge home furnishing store. No visit is complete without having some of their Swedish Meatballs, which I did. They have a very large upstairs dining area where food is available cafeteria style and you bus your own table by returning your tray and dishes to a tray holder rack. It was surprisingly not busy when we arrived, we had our choice of tables. They didn't have any meatballs. At least they told us they would not have any for about 15 minutes. My wife selected the fish so she could eat and get shopping, I waited for my food, and as you can see in my photo the wait was successful. The meatballs with the gravy were great, and the savory went very well with their Lingonberry Jam. I've never heard of Lingonberries outside of my experiences with IKEA, it is just something else that makes IKEA cool. The dish included a scoop of bland mashed potatoes and some overcooked peas. They also don't offer Coke or Pepsi products, instead a different brand of cola. read more

I Don't really go to ikea or have any of their food but my fiancée suggested it and this is why I liked it! As you enter the store you notice it's extremely busy, lots of moving people and cool furniture to see. We ordered a hot dog and slice of cheese pizza once we got done shopping. The hotdog is pretty plain, not much seasoning or toppings to it and it is steamed. We ate here after hours of browsing the huge store. We came in late afternoon so when we arrived at the Cafe it seemed like alot of items might have been already wrapped up for the night. There were minimal napkins also when I went searching by the condiments. We had been here before but we never ate here. Would recommend. Being the end of the night and with shorter staff on hand there were some trays on tables left over from someone eating. The desserts are always great as well. Calories mean nothing here, since you will walk it all off anyways, right? This particular IKEA restaurant is located on the second floor and is in the corner of the building so has plenty of places to sit and relax, especially for families. Huge bathrooms are located behind the bistro. I overheard a naysayer griping about the view of the parking lot. Obviously they must not have been able to look up a few inches to see the lovely view of the Tampa skyline. We actually liked sitting there, eating our meal with that view. Stopping by IKEA to buy some home furnishings means a stop by their bistro for some of their "famous" meatballs. I truly believe they're famous cause they don't serve anything else better...plus the meatballs stay somewhat moist even though they're sitting in a steam table all day long. On my recent visit this last weekend, I stopped by when I was starving and trust me, that's the worst time to go, but a good time since you don't need wait for some to assemble your food; it's right there for someone to scoop it up. 3/5 Garlic Toast $0.69 was ok...a little dry and cold since it was probably sitting there for a while; they didn't have anything to keep it warm like a heating light. 4/5 Meatballs $5.99 was the best thing on the menu and what I suggest ordering; it comes with 2 sides and I received mashed potatoes and steam vegetables. The saving grace is the gravy they used to coat the meatballs that keep them somewhat moist. 1/5 Beef Tenderloin $8.99 was a waste of money; beef was dry and hard on the edges. I needed to return it for another plate of meatballs and unfortunately I didn't get the difference back, but that's because the line to pay was long and I decided to forego it. 3/5 Chocolate Cake $2.99 was decent; I've had much better but for a place that just prides itself on a dollar ice cream and soda, it was a bit high for the quality received. This might sound funny but..IKEA bistro has the best food ha! They are also really cheap and it's pretty clean. They have vegan options too. My favorite things to get are the veggies balls with French fries, nordic grains, and ragout, with lingonberry overtop. Also their veggies dogs are amazing too. I think they might be made from the veggie balls, either way. So good. Their lingonberry juice is really good too! They have other options like salmon and chicken but I can't say much about those since I don't partake in eating There's usually a long line but it goes quickly. I settled on 2 tasty children's Swedish pancakes with lingonberry sauce and a side of bacon (2 strips). The register clerk was new with a trainer with her. She was more distracted with her own conversation than serving me, the customer. She took FORever to count change back due to "chatter" (I was in a hurry and had just been behind dawdlers making decisions to save money and split the same kids meal 4 ways). Can't guarantee you'll get a HOT breakfast. The bacon was undercooked, blubbery but edible. Enjoyed the crepes (pancakes) and jam. Saw some great salads and grab & go meals on the other side but got shooshed out of the unopened side yet. Had I seen a good menu or been allowed to preview the food, they might have sold some more items after shopping. All in all, I wouldn't come here JUST to eat. Too chaotic & disjointed. Didn't like being asked for a tip prior to any tippable service provided. It's cafeteria style, you get your own silverware, toss your own trash and wipe your own table. I'll stick to shopping. The dressing is limited to only four options based I what I saw. You have multiple locations to get utensils so be mindful. Also the drink options are the basic but with a some tasty spritzers. I had the pear spritzer and it was sooo good. For my lunch I had a Blueberry/walnut salad with smoke salmon. Small side of potato salad and a piece of garlic bread. Okay, I can't be gourmet all the time. Sometimes, you need a quick and budget friendly meal that's pretty good. I love to waste time and find things for the house here at IKEA and get affordable grub. Today, my mini me and I had lunch together in the IKEA Bistro. If you've been, you know that it's mostly self serve with the exception of hot items. The girls/ guys will take your order and plate up you food. Don't forget your glasses (or coffee mug/ tea & coffee is free to IKEA Family Members) silverware and such. As I said, it's self serve. There are trays and tray carts if you need help. No servers here, you deliver your food as well as clean up after yourself. When you're done, you bus your dishes over to an area. There aren't trash cans either, so you leave it with your tray. Oh, and there is plenty of seating so unless everyone in the store is eating at the same time, you shouldn't have an issue finding a seat. They have small tables to big family tables. Low tables and high tables. Arm chairs and sofas. You get it, right? Today, our lunch was a kids chicken salad plate (green leaf lettuce, chilled sliced chicken breast, baby carrots, strawberries and a cheese stick) for $2.49 I prefer to get this over the regular salad cause, well it's great! Plus I have my kid with me. He snags the cheese, carrots and strawberries. I went with the special, Chicken and Waffles (three crispy chicken fingers, fries and two heart shaped waffles. Drizzled with a hot honey sauce) it was $5.99 on the menu board, but my Family card got it knocked down to $3.99! He get the traditional meatball plate (8 meatballs, mashed potato and gravy with a side of veggies) for 4.99 They have a chicken and a veggie version of meatballs as well. I've had them in the past and they are pretty good. A slice of chocolate cake is $2.99 and they now put out small desserts pastries for 49 cents. I tried the chocolate oat/ coconut and I love it! A glass of water (free) and a fountain drink $1.49 and we had our lunch for $17.59 You can save a few $$$ by not getting fountain drinks and opting for water or the free coffee/ tea. Skip dessert (or share) and pass on the salad and it goes down to less than $10. Get your grub on before or after your long walk into the showrooms. read more
