Tower Energy's website says: "You won't run out of fuel on Automatic Delivery". I ran out of oil…read morethis weekend, twice! We have an automatic refill contract with Tower and they were unable to completely fill our tank last delivery and promised to return to fill the remainder, "soon". Ultimately, they never came back and our tank ran dry leaving us without heat on a Friday in February. I contacted Tower and spoke with the manager. His response to the situation was dismissive, saying there is no need for a filter change or a system check, these run outs "happen all the time". In a situation like this, when a company fails to meet their guarantee, the expectation is the company will go out of its way to remedy it; regardless of the severity. But to have two consecutive failures is simply pathetic. showing a lack of integrity and no desire to stand by their guarantee. Tower Energy has 2.7-star rating on Yelp with 7 reviews in total, 4 of which are 1 star with a detailed explanation of their unique situation. The 1-star reviews had a common thread of Tower not fulfilling their contractual obligation, very similar to my recent experience. I would read the others as well I cannot recommend Tower Energy and advise against it. Research into customer experiences elsewhere.

I recently ordered 100 gallons of oil for my tanks before the big snow storm we had. We were told…read moreit would get delivered before the storm and then kept getting pushed back. (no big deal we understood they were busy) When they did finally show up the next week they they said they couldn't get the cap off to put the oil in and left. my husband got home and tried and the cap came right off without any elbow grease. they said they would be back the next day. They showed up the next day (Friday) and put the oil in. Well my husband pulled the driveway in from work as they were finishing and had to wait for their truck in the driveway for what seemed like a while for only 100 gallons. As soon as he pulled away my husband went down stairs to our double oil tanks and saw the man filled both tanks. (Over 400 gallons) he immediately called the office and was directed to the emergency line because the were now closed for the weekend. We left a message with the emergency line operator and he said he would let the office know Monday. We told him thank you and by all means come take the oil back. Our original receipt says the order is for 100 gallons and the rate we ordered it at. Our card was charged the following week for that amount and we recieved a confirmation email. I go to check the mail and now have an additional bill for $1,600 for the additional amount at a higher rate. my husband called right away and explained the scenario again to the front desk lady who said they had no idea. She said a manager would call. No manager called, but we did receive a very rude and nasty call from a front desk lady today trying to tell us we need to pay our outstanding balance. My husband explained to her, AGAIN....We were over charged because we only ordered a certain amount and according to her that's not their fault it's our responsibility. He said I would like to speak to a manager, so she put him on hold then came back and said he will be calling you and hung up on my husband. This whole experience has just been terrible with this company. We have told them plenty of times mistakes happen we get it, please come take your oil back. Now to have an attitude with us this is uncalled for.

This company bought out the old family-owned company I had done business with for years, and…read moreunfortunately my experience since the transition has been very poor. I pay regularly and on time and am on both a fuel delivery contract and a service contract. Despite this, in previous years they failed to deliver oil and my home ran completely out. My boiler then had issues for nearly a year afterward. At another point, after a delivery, the exterior fill cap was not replaced, leaving the pipe open to the elements. This year, wanting to avoid another problem, I specifically requested delivery online more than a week ago because my tank was getting low. The estimated delivery day came and went with no oil. I then called and was told: "We couldn't get to you today, so we'll be there tomorrow." That day also came and went with no delivery. By this point my tank gauge was extremely low despite repeated proactive communication on my part to avoid exactly this situation. To Paraco's credit, after escalation they eventually delivered a small emergency amount late at night to help prevent a complete runout. However, the overall experience has been extremely stressful and has seriously damaged my confidence in the company's delivery reliability and communication. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend them.

Six months ago, I bought a house in a new area. I did not know the local vendors and the prior…read moreowner used Suburban Propane. I transferred service to my name and I should have known right way when they sent my proposal in the wrong name that they were sloppy and careless (exactly what I want in a company that delivers explosive products to my home...). They insisted on doing a leak test, even though they had filled the tanks two weeks before I bought the house. They billed me for the service, but the contractor who was on-site says that they never entered the building and that they never did any work. I called multiple times to ask about the bill and they always said that they would call me back - they didn't. They sent me to their collections department and I kept referring back to the Waterbury and Derby offices to no avail. I finally got so tired of the run around that I just paid the $100. Then they started delivering propane and the real trouble started. Our property has three propane tanks on it that were in my proposal and that they had previously filled and serviced. Hell, their name is plastered on a tank that is 20 feet from my front door... I had negotiated a rate for all three tanks. On delivery, they only offered that rate on my two main tanks and a rate that was 25% higher for the largest tank on the property that was near empty. I disputed the charge with the driver (who is very nice and remembers the former owner and the house from many years of service). The driver said to dispute it with the office. I did dispute it and after many cycles of being on hold I was assured that the rate would be adjusted. It was not. They tacked on late fees and, again, sent it to collections within a month of filling the tank. I disputed it again and was told that it would be adjusted and I agreed to pay the adjusted amount. On two subsequent fills, they billed me at the 25% higher rate. Each time I disputed and they told me they would adjust. They didn't. They sent me additional late fees on the balances that I was told would be credited for overbilling at the incorrect rate. Here we are six months and many hours on hold later. I have already switched to another provider who is local and wonderful (I will post a very positive Yelp review for them next). I am still untangling from the nightmare that was dealing with Suburban Propane. I wish I could leave less than one star. Once I get this resolved and the weather gets warmer I will paint over their advertisement on the tanks near my front door. I wouldn't recommend these clowns to my worst enemies.
