Inaccurate time estimate, given 30-40 min wait at 8:53, and at 9:27 we were "3rd place in line."

I have no idea how this place has a Michelin star. There is no room service. We ordered ice at 4pm and it never came. We had to call again and go to the front desk and it took over an hour (delivered at 5:20, we were told by the front desk that it was waiting for us in our room, went to the room, and it was not there). There is no coffee machine in the room. The "coffee" available is a tea bag essentially that you "steep" and it's so watery and gross despite following the instructions. At this price point there should be a coffee or espresso machine. The majority of food & drink options that were advertised were not available during our stay. The email confirming my booking stated "Baker's Daughter" an "all day cafe" would be open from "7AM to 8PM daily." The restaurant was closed our entire stay and seems to be closed indefinitely. The first night the downstairs bar, Allegory, was closed for a private event. The next night, the rooftop bar we had planned to go to for happy hour, Wild Days, was closed for a private event. We tried to go to Allegory instead, but there was a 30-40 min wait estimate. After waiting for over 40 mins, we ended up going to a different bar. Our final night happy hour at the rooftop bar was not offered because it was a weekend, so we wanted to make martinis in the hotel. All the hotels I've stayed at, at this price point, you can order a room service martini. Eaton does not offer room service, but given there are two bars in the hotel, we requested martini glasses from the front desk and the team said they would look for martini glasses. Staff asked if we would be ok with a wine glass, and we said no to wine glasses. After over an hour we went to the front desk. We figured this would be an easy task because there are two bars at the hotel. We were told staff was still looking after an hour wait. We left and returned 20 mins later and were told staff was bringing the martini glasses. Staff brought us plastic wine glasses, even though we said we did not want wine glasses. Staff told us they did not know what a martini glass was and I had to show them a picture on my phone. Finally after going to the front desk a third time, I explained we were given plastic wine glasses and the front desk person told me I was given glass wine glasses even though they were plastic and he was not the one who gave them to us. I know the difference between plastic and glass, and they were cheap plastic long stem wine glasses. The front desk person finally explained the bars are separate from the hotel and that I could go to the bar and ask to borrow a martini glass and that they could not use the bar's "inventory". After I refused to ask the bar to borrow a martini glass and returned to my room, staff called our room and said they asked to borrow a glass from the bar and it would be dropped off. This was a terrible experience and took two hours. Additionally, the room did not look as nice as the photos. The bedside table had a big stain on the wood when I arrived (see photo). Additionally, I was told by staff over email that early check-in would be $50, but was not told this total would be subject to additional taxes until after my stay. In reality early check-in is $58. There are other reasons the stay was bad, but I lost track. We have stayed at the Lyle, but wanted to try this hotel because of the sauna and rooftop bar. In the end we did not go to the sauna or rooftop bar because of our experience. The Lyle's room service is great, they have an espresso machine, same price point, a restaurant/bar that is actually open with no wait, and amazing staff. I will be staying at the Lyle in the future and avoiding the Eaton at all costs.

I had wonderful stay that the Eaton hotel! Its a boutique hotel with a cute retro vibe and very friendly staff. I rarely give hotels a 5 star rating but I really liked several aspects of my stay. I love how the rooms are wooden themed with record players in each room! More importantly, their pillows are so comfortable! I hate the typical hotel pillows that are too soft and your head sinks in after 2 secs. If those are for you, they have them too. But for me, they also had fluffier and more robust pillows that made it so comfortable! The room was very clean with all the appropriate amenities and good storage space. Wifi was pretty solid! When one didn't work/wasn't as strong, I easily connected with the other. I had a corner room so it was quiet for me. The hotel is connected with Baker's Daughter (a coffee shop), a speakeasy bar (Allegory), and rooftop bar (Wild Days). The lobby space is vibey with a whole back around with conference rooms. I love the little radio area with numerous records and a DJ during the day. I didn't get a chance to check out their gym, pool, nor business center. Lobby staff and cleaning staff alike were very smiley and friendly! Valet parking available.

Not off to a good start so far. Room was not ready during check in time (3pm). No help with luggage on arrival. Our "suite" on initial impression was underwhelming - feels outdated. Their system is down so we haven't gotten keys to the room. The pull out sofa bed still had old dirty sheets and comforter still in it covered in food crumbs.

Location was conveniently located downtown near the Moxy rooftop and near by restaurants, coffee shops and historical landmarks. Story has it the owner's wealthy father gifted it to her in honor of her passion for social justice. They also had events like Listening session for Juvenile 400 degrees which i hate I missed and many other things to mix and mingle. Ambiance 5/5 From the lobby which has a restaurant and coffee spot, a speakeasy, and rooftop with live music that day! The band and ambiance was wonderful. It has a social justice and music themed décor w/ record player and vinyl records. I was fortunate to have Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, and Run DMC, among others records. The décor was beautiful, bed comfortable and a seating area near the window. It's such a trendy hotel with overall great décor. Price: N/A I was there on a complimentary fellowship so unsure of the price. Service 5/5 Great check-in service, late check-out despite it being booked, and service on the rooftop, drinks were refreshing

I didn't realize this is a hotel until my 3rd visit so full disclosure I have not booked an overnight stay here. But what I have done is eat, drink and socialized. The Eaton has a rooftop set up with patio seating and an open floor space with a full bar. On the 1st floor is a speak easy Allegory (see my review) with a laid back calm and cozy vibe. I have enjoyed each visit here. Looking forward to updating my review when book a room.

blood stains??

overpriced and dirty!! staff was nice but our room was literally disgusting and I will not be returning first of all there was Bloodstains on the furniture random stains/mold spots on the curtains and under the rug the floor was just absolutely covered in dirt ??

Ah, the Eaton. It's a vibe due to the coffee shop (Baker's Daughter but real ones remember Kintsugi!), Wild Days (lovely rooftop bar), and the focus on wellness throughout the space. Okay, but you want to know about the hotel? It met all the must-haves: safe, clean, and with good temperature control. Bed was comfortable and it was quiet for a restful stay. There was a record player in the room and even though I didn't know the artist, it was a nice listen. The rooms don't have a mini-fridge or microwave but there are so many eateries around, including some onsite. Breakfast, lunch/dinner, and happy hour are all in different (aforementioned) venues within the Eaton. Room rates are reasonable and you're within downtown. There's also a fitness center (can't speak to the quality). The lack of a full 5 stars is that there's some artwork that may be offputing for folks, elevators are small, and the wifi wasn't secured. Overall, a solid stay option if you're in the area!

Sounded like a great place but it wasn't! Yes it was close to the convention center, and it had this vintage flavor with vinyl records player in the room and people bringing boxes of their vinyls here. But in regards to patron needs: zero. Not only did they not address the clogged sink despite being told but the shower only had cold water. The lack of responsiveness is telling more than a friendly welcome.

I recently stayed at the Eaton while on business and was impressed with my stay. I was greeted warmly by Simone at check-in and my room was ready, even though I arrived a few hours early. The rooms are comfortably appointed and everything feels very curated - almost like I'm living inside someone's Instagram feed. My room had a record player and a collection of books in addition to a TV that allowed me to stream my Netflix account. I love a firm mattress, so I found the bed super comfortable. I appreciated that the bedside lamp and salt lamp had dimmer switches so I could lower the lighting as I got ready to sleep. There are lots of outlets and USB plugs near the bed and throughout the room. The location is great too. Most of DC's attractions are within walking distance and there are quite a few places to eat nearby. My biggest issue was with the bathroom. In order to turn the shower on, you have to be in the shower standing directly under the spray. It warms up pretty quickly, but those first few seconds aren't nice. The towel hook is also in the shower, so I felt like my towels didn't really have a chance to dry out. The toilet also ran a lot and was incredibly loud. Check out was easy and they were kind enough to hold my bags for me so I could explore the city before my flight out. I would highly recommend staying at the Eaton.

I've always driven by Eaton, but never stepped in until they started offering Yogalates with Kaya. It is so refreshing, physically challenging (in the best way), and I enjoy how she's intentional about meditating and journaling to get our minds right. I'll continue to come here as long as this class is offered.

I stayed at this hotel in December as part of a conference. I have been to DC many times for work, but never heard of the Eaton. Or at least, I thought I hadn't! Because they Eaton has a super sneaky secret bar and I was so taken by the bar the last time, I didn't realize it was in this glamorous hotel. Anyways! Hotel gave great rates for the conference, and I really enjoyed my stay. Firstly, the location was great, right on the circulator (free) bus route which was helpful. The lobby is stunning. I didn't have a chance to try the restaurant, but they have very high reviews. If I have more time the next time I stay here, I will certainly try them. The room itself is beautiful. Slightly on the small side, but it didn't matter because it was so artfully decorated and felt more like an experience than a plain hotel room. The record player in the room (with the Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson records) was such a nice touch. a Himalayan sea salt lamp, which was neat. The shower had great pressure and the design of the bathroom was very nice. The gym was adequate and there was even a recording studio in the lobby! I will definitely look at staying at the Eaton in the future, I had such a great experience.

The room was spotless, the turndown service was a nice flex, and everything felt polished. The location is clutch--walkable to fun spots and everywhere we needed to be for work. The key-card elevators are sleek, high-tech, and super secure. The restaurant and bar had great energy, and the food hit, but $24 for a drink is unhinged. Overall, a stylish, safe, and seriously fun stay. More details from my review on Google: Rooms: The rooms were exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The turndown service was a lovely touch, and everything in the room was perfect throughout my stay. Safety: The hotel elevators felt extremely secure and high-tech. Guests must use a key card to access certain levels and floors, which added an extra layer of safety and peace of mind. It's a great security feature and made me feel very comfortable during our stay. Walkability: The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of plenty of things to do, as well as the locations I needed to access for work. The location made my stay easy and convenient. Food & drinks: The hotel restaurant and bar had a nice atmosphere, and the food was good, but everything felt extremely overpriced. Charging $24 for one drink is absurd. I enjoyed the experience overall, but the prices make it difficult to recommend. Noteworthy details: From the moment I arrived, I was treated like a regular. The staff made me feel genuinely welcome and at home-never like an outsider in an exclusive club. Their warm, down-to-earth hospitality made the experience truly special.

(Please note I am writing this before the end of my stay)…read more A tale of two cities: My significant other and I are on a bit of a journey up the east coast and we have been blessed to stay in some stunning locations. This review is written on the piggy back of staying in a wonderful location in Asheville. On paper we had a similar experience; greeted warmly by the valet, then again by the concierge. We also have the similar warm plush robes waiting in the room with a welcome note (it's our anniversary). Both locations also boast the roof top bar. In Asheville I sat and drank prosecco and watched the moon rise and then respectively the sun rise over the city. This is where the Hotel Washington takes the turn and as the reader I suggest you ask "what is the experience I am looking for?" The hotel Washington has a beautiful bar with great team members but it is very difficult to see the monuments. There are artificial flowers and pretty lights to give you a spot for lovely photos (of the artificial flowers) and probably look lovely if you're a content creator on social media. But the bar that overlooks the Washington monument has pink lights that reflect off the windows preventing you from actually looking at the monument. In the morning I walked to get a coffee and returned hoping to sit upstairs and watch the sunrise over the city. Nope! "For security purposes" the roof is locked until 4pm. The 4 stars instead of 5 is there is a very heavy perfume in the hotel lobby. It is very heavy and does not seem to have a purpose other than to "not smell of people or outside". This hotel is lovely! The room is comfortable and offers the lavish elegance of a luxury hotel. But the feel this hotel seems to be aiming for is more of a night club and spot for content creators rather than a beautiful building overlooking the amazing history of our country. When booking please consider what you are hoping to get from your experience!

The bartender mentioned that this event also helps provide additional hours for staff during the slower month of August, which made me appreciate the concept even more. The Top of the Hay itself is stunning. The views and setting are exactly what you would expect from such an iconic DC property, and getting to experience a space that is typically reserved for private events made the evening feel particularly special. The drinks were also excellent. Sweet, but not overly sweet. But what really stood out was the staff. I do not say this lightly. The service was outstanding. I genuinely wish I had caught everyone's names because anyone working between roughly 4:30 and 7:30 that evening in the lobby, Off the Record, or Top of the Hay deserves recognition and a raise! Every person I interacted with was incredibly attentive without ever being overbearing. The bathroom ventilation is so old and loud, that I can't even believe it's there.
