On a sunny weekend we decided to venture out of our lake house for breakfast and looking up on Yelp this spot came up as the first choice. The decor is cute but the exterior could be improved as from the outside it looks like a run down diner. The service is quite friendly but there was a long line up of folks waiting for food so that meant we had to wait quite a while for the food to arrive. I ordered the daily special that was local cherry french toast which was made to perfection. The cherries were tart and soft and their house made toast has the right texture and the right amount of sweetness. The iced coffee was also brewed to perfection and had the right amount of flavor and ice. Overall this place is my favorite breakfast spot in the interior and would highly recommend it if you are in the area. read more

Not sure what all the fuss is about. We went there this morning. Second time in. When you enter there is nothing to tell you how to proceed. It was a little busy so no place to sit. In a few minutes I wandered to the counter and was surprised to be asked what my order was. We ordered our food, was given a number and sent to the "waiting room". A big open room with no ambience and no idea how long we would be waiting except there were only four groups waiting. After quite a few minutes someone came and sat us. Oh good, food should be here soon. Nope as I found out the food wasn't ordered until we got our table. The waitress brought our coffee with no spoons. We said no cream, we didn't say black and both of us took sugar. After a long wait our food arrived which I felt was ordered and well prepared, except my friend didn't get any toast with his omelette. Second time there and last time there. Wow! Eatology never disappoints! I went there with my mom after another nearby eatery was closed on Sunday and it was open - and packed with other like-minded people! Service was super-friendly and we managed to get a table right away! I like the fact that you pay for your order right away so at the end of the meal, you can just leave and not have to wait to settle the bill. The setting is energetic, the music cool and upbeat, and I also love the booths that have local business' cards slid underneath. I ordered the spinach and feta eggs benny! Wow, so amazing!!! My only issue is that it is a bit on the pricey side - but so, so, so worth it for such a fantastic dining experience! I definitely recommend Eatology - if you miss it then you miss out!!! Stopped by this restaurant for Saturday breakfast, as the food is typically really good. We were excited to see that they had expanded their sitting area to space next door & now double the size. The excitement didnt last long. They now have triple the seating space with same service ability as before. For anyone who has eaten here before, you know the wait times prior :/ lengthy but worth it. It is now completely unbearable. Takes 15-30min of waiting before you get a seat w your drinks. For us, it's been almost an hour and still no food. If we hadnt paid beforehand we wouldve left. And at this point waiting 5min more before demanding refund. Food is not worth the wait. Restaurant should have renovated their kitchen & hired on staff before expanding their seating. Will not be coming back . read more

Eatology rocks as far as places in Vernon go. They offer an amazing vegan Buddha bowl, Eatology if you're reading this please add more veg options - ie. a vegan waffle or other breaky item would great!!! I almost didn't go into this place but I had paid for parking in the area en route to Ratio but remembered I really don't care for Ratio and wanted a good cup of coffee. I walked by Eatology and the "organic coffee" caught my eye, I almost kept walking because it's in the bus station but I decided to open the door and was pleasantly surprised at the décor and feel of the place! The coffee is great, by the way! I ate here 3 times in two days on my last family visit - they happily accommodated my vegan diet at breakfast time by making the avo toast without egg or cheese for me (for the $$$ I think they could have added an extra baguette slice but I fully appreciate their service). The Buddha bowl with tofu is amazing, great value and I'll eat that every time I'm back! You have to order at the counter then choose a seat and they bring it to you. I don't love this method of service particularly because it prompts you to tip up front before food or service or hold the tip till after but feel awkward during your dining experience. This is why they lost one star but it's not enough to deter me from visiting often! I hope they add more veg friendly options in the future. read more

This has to be my favorite new find for places to eat in Vernon in a long time! This place is tucked into the Greyhound station downtown but the service, food, and ambience are fantastic. I ordered the lunch special which was beet borscht and prosciutto and fig grilled cheese... Simply amazing in every aspect. The borscht tasted exactly like my moms, and she grew up on the prairies... she knows her borscht. The prosciutto and fig was a beautiful combination, with yummy cheese and a bit of spinach thrown in. Will definitely be back here, hopefully soon! read more

I had been hearing great things about this place from friends and coworkers, and I saw the great reviews on Yelp, so it had to go on my list of local must-try spots. Today, my wife, my 4 year old, and I, met up with my mother-in-law for a nice lunch. At 12:30, I was expecting to be caught in the lunch rush, but, as it turned out, even though all the tables were full, we were 2nd on the list and were seated only about 5 minutes after ordering. Every choice on the board sounded excellent, but I decided on the porchetta sandwich with dirty fries (extra $2). The wait for the food wasn't too long and when it came I was excited to dig in... the fries with the deep fried herbs, mayo, and porchetta bits was unlike anything I'd had before. Delicious, and well worth the upcharge. Something about deep frying the herbs takes away a lot of the intense flavor meaning it doesn't overpower on the fries. The porchetta sandwich was a good size, with nice greens inside. The meat was very nice. Personal preference, I like a good amount of sauce/spread on my sandwich, so I thought it was maybe lacking a little bit in that department. My wife ordered the BLT, and my mother-in-law had the bacon breakfast sandwich... both looked great. Great spot! I'm looking forward to trying something else next time... I love the menu and the food here and highly recommend. In my opinion, they lose points for having a terrible bathroom situation (its shared with the greyhound bus station, so you so the math) and because they have a cafeteria-style order and pay and then seat yourself thing going on. This means that if you want to eat here for lunch (definitely worth it!!!) you run the risk of ordering, paying, and then getting your food while you're still waiting for a table. This has definitely happened to me more than once, which leaves me overall less stoked about it. Also, there are people who come in a group and then send part of the party to order while the rest snag a table, thus jumping the line, which is super lame. I really love the avo-toast and the Buddha bowl. They have good options for vegetarians and kids. Great service, always friendly. read more
